Heavy winds from 20-30 miles per hour with gusts ranging from 40-50 mph. I checked CalTrans every hour over night and they finally made the call for chains required on the 395, travel cautiously if you must drive warning. Crystal was very helpful and understanding of the weather situation along with delays in driving. I have never driven in those conditions and every forum related to mammoth mountain (Facebook and Instagram) said it was safe to stay out if you weren't in Mammoth already. Crystal, with the help of my Expedia agent, refunded my reservation despite their cancellation policy. Thank you so much Crystal! I can only say great things about my experience here booking with you and Edelweiss lodge. Thank you for your compassion and doing what you could to help us!

My friends and I love the location, customer service, and every clean and cozy room at the villager. I LOVE that it's pet friendly as well! The last few weekends had no vacancies. (An extra plus, there's an amazing cafe walking distance called The Epic Cafe!!)

The sign at the front desk says that if you stay three or more nights, you get room service. As I mentioned, we stayed three nights. When we went to the front desk to request clean towels and garbage service, she looked up our room number and informed us that we have to stay four nights in order to receive those services. It seems like she was intentionally choosing not to help us. We ended up taking out our own garbage, buying toilet paper at the store next-door and carrying our own linens back up to the room so that we had fresh supplies. On the morning of checkout, we left our room at 7 o'clock to go next-door for breakfast. When we returned at 8:15, our keys had been disabled and we were unable to enter into our room. Checkout time is 10 o'clock so I'm unsure why they chose to disable our keys so early in the morning. Again, we went downstairs and had to deal with the old lady up front. She did not seem interested in helping, but grudgingly gave us keys so that we could get back into our room until checkout time. It's unfortunate that such a beautiful property is being micromanaged by someone like the person at the front desk. Such potential being wasted on horrible employees. We will not be back.

For one night, it served its purpose perfectly well. But honestly, if we had stayed longer, I probably would have agreed more strongly with many of the other reviews. The rooms definitely feel dark, outdated, and a little dingy. Not terrible, but very much the kind of place where you say, "Well... at least we are only here one night." The biggest frustration was the reservation situation. At check-in, we were told we had booked the wrong date, even though our confirmation through Booking.com clearly showed the correct reservation date. We ended up being charged, and now we have to sort it out afterward through Booking.com, which is frustrating because based on other reviews mentioning similar issues, it honestly seemed more like a property-side problem than ours. Now for the surprisingly good part: the little café upstairs, which I believe may be associated with the lodge. That place was actually really enjoyable. Great views, a lovely outdoor yard area to sit and eat, and genuinely good food with huge portions. And when I say huge, I mean the burrito could probably qualify as emergency wilderness survival equipment. If you order it, prepare yourself. That thing could easily feed four people, no exaggeration. We may still be digesting it somewhere between Mono Lake and Death Valley. Overall, this is not a luxury stay by any means, but as a practical overnight stop near Mono Lake, it worked well enough. Just double-check your reservation details carefully and maybe arrive with realistic expectations about the rooms. Oh! And bring your own soap, they have this little quarter size soaps who are you kidding? My hands were laughing.

The Village gondola soars overhead in the parking lot of these condos. There is also a shuttle stop right at the end of the driveway so you can use the Mammoth shuttles and nighttime trolley so you never really have to drive anywhere! The only downsides I can think of if I really try is there are no balconies to enjoy the views outside. It snowed about a foot on our last night and we could not find any shovels or window scrapers in the condo. Luckily someone in the parking lot let us borrow their shovel to dig our cars and walkway out. Overall fantastic place, will definitely stay here again!

Multiple bedrooms and bathrooms were fantastic and David and Jacob were totally accommodating. The check in instructions were fantastic and the drop off and ski lockers were perfect. Not to discount you are a 100 feet from the gondola to canyon lodge and the village with a ton of restaurants, shopping and stores. We could walk to dinner in a minute and come back for poker night. Also an outdoor bbq at each place made dinner prep for our large group really easy. There is a ski rental place right in the village which was perfect and easy. Would definitely come back. Encourage anyone who is looking for an easy vacation in mammoth, with access to everything to book treehouse 1 and 2 or either one of you have a smaller group. Also, forgot to mention. From indoor parking to sleds to borrow this is our family's favorite place to stay. Our kid's favorite was the spa and beautiful bunk beds they got to enjoy while we were there. My favorite was the spacious kitchen. It has all the tools you need to make amazing meals (like a crockpot, blender and even an espresso machine). A full array of utensils and dishes are included as well. The host (Mary Beth) was so helpful and quickly responded to our inquiries. Would definitely stay here again!
