I used to frequent the Albany Junior's, but lost interest after several lackluster experiences in a row. When this was initially suggested as the meeting place for a group lunch, I was ambivalent. While I was curious about the space, I was put off by the Albany location's decline in quality. However, I was pleasantly surprised both times I dined here. The food was very good, the drink menu was good (I'm always happy to see Nine Pin on tap). Service was good although a bit slow (but not obnoxiously slow). During one dinner, I was with quite a large group on a busy night and our waitress handled the split checks with ease. I would be glad to come back here any time I am in the area. read more

I love the atmosphere here. The bar is huge. The decor is really well done. The people are always really nice and helpful. The food has been pretty ordinary. I think that's my biggest complaint. Everything sounds good on the menu although when I get it, it's just ordinary. Nothing has blown me away. And I want to much to feel that way cause of the location, decor, and service. We went on a Friday and seemed to get the last table for the two of us. We ordered some pulled pork poutine, a chicken sandwich, and a wrap with both entrees with tater tots. The poutine was large and there was a good amount of pulled pork on it, more than what we were expecting. The cheese curds were melted, the gravy was a little heavy and didn't taste homemade (tasted like it was out of a can) but overall was still decent. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was not warm in the middle, and was not as spicy as I would have liked. The tots seemed to have been two batches were one of ours was all broken and a little undercooked, and the other seemed to be slightly more together. Both order of tots however were still slightly cold. Our server, I believe her name was Isabella, was amazing. She is probably the only reason why I would not provide a lower rating. read more

One of my favorite spots! The bar is huge with great tv views. Even the bar top tables have good view of the TVs, they always have good sports games on. They have an outdoor bar area as well as patio seating. Perfect summer spot! The bartender Kendra makes some of the best drinks, the menu has good drinks, but if you don't see what your looking for she can whip something up on the spot and you will not be disappointed. Service is always on point, she doesn't miss a beat! The dinning area is nice and private, you don't feel like your on top of the table next to you. Christian is an excellent server, puts your order in just as you ask and make sure it comes out just as you asked. He frequently checks in to make sure you have everything you need. Take out order was really messed up. Before the delivery person leaves or as in my case before you leave restaurant, check your order as it will likely be wrong. Its not like the place was even busy late Sunday night. You order and pay for salads to sub for French fries, but get the French fries without a salad. You tell your kid he's getting the honey mustard chicken meal, but you get just unseasoned bread coating. There are no condiments for the French fries(you didn't want) nor the seasonless chicken (you never wanted). In our case, when we brought it home and found the mess up, it was just too late to go back, and the salads we never got only cost $1.00. It's still so maddening. read more

This is a solid burger and sports bar. There were multiple LED TVs on every wall, and lots of seating. My companions ordered the Classic burger with different cheeses per their preferences, and I splurged on a Reuben. We were all pleased with our meals. I noted that there was ample Thousand Island sauce because so many Reubens don't have any. I liked the larger cut fries. My companions liked their brioche buns and that there was "real beef" burgers. We were here to celebrate retirement for one of us, and we noticed how for a crowded lunch hour how reasonable the noise level was. We didn't need to shout. The brick walls give the place a pub-like ambiance, but the bright green vinyl upholstery on the booths brighten up the dark interior. Junior's offers more than just burgers and sandwiches. They had pizza offerings, even a gluten free dough options, several entrees, some Mexican-American inspired dishes and some seafood options. We all enjoyed our meals and were thrilled that a good lunch spot had opened up near Hudson Valley Community College. They don't take reservations for parties smaller than 8, and there was a line at lunch time. We'll be back for sure. read more

Niche food. That's what I call it. This particular niche is what I call "pub food". Pub food, while common and plentiful, can be spectacular when done right. Junior's does it properly. Nothing pushed it over the top, but nothing dragged it to the bottom either. Middle of the road pub food. Great selection. And all the standard things. I got the house baked pretzel as an app. I am a pretzel afficianado. These were proper. Good dipping sauces. Mustard, avacado and cheese. Overall, good stuff. My main course is what they call "The Rooster". I got the onion petals as a side. Sandwich itself was a good size. Filling for sure. Excellent combination of cheddar, bacon and chipotle bbq sauce. Just the right amount of heat. This is a good sandwich for sure and one I would order again. The onion petals are just standard onion ring style deep fried pieces of onion instead of rings. I like the idea, as they present more like fries and were easier to eat. Dipping sauce was average at best. Just a standard onion ring dip. The beer selection is nice too. Looked to be at least 18 active taps on the wall of varying types of beer. Nice bottle selection also. I didn't spend alot of time looking at this, but I'm sure there is something for everyone 's beer palate. Overall, juniors does pub food okay. Three stars for the food. This sports bar and grill has a long bar with ample high chairs, big flatscreen TVs (around 20 in this restaurant), 20 beers on tap, and liquor & wine, high top tables & booths, and a cozy dining section with booths and tables. The food offerings here is traditional American pub fare including appetizers, wings, burgers, sandwiches, salads, pizza, and dinner entrees (seafood, steak, chicken, ribs, pasta). They offer Happy Hour specials Mon-Fri 3:30pm-6:30pm on drinks and appetizers. I stopped by the new Junior's for an early Saturday dinner. I decided to sit in the bar area so I could watch college football on the TVs. The place was moderately busy and the waitress arrived to take my order within 3 minutes after sitting down at a high top table. I ordered a Diet Pepsi ($2.75) and the Dirty Bird ($11.99) served with fries, pasta salad, and dill pickle. The Dirty Bird sandwich was big, buttermilk breaded crispy chicken breasts topped with creamy slaw on a soft brioche bun. The crispy golden fries were salty. The small cup of elbow macaroni salad with mayo & carrots was good. The service here was hectic but adequate. I was given free refills on the Diet Pepsi and I requested dessert. They do not have printed dessert menu here, so I was told the dessert choices available. I went with the homemade chocolate chip cookie sundae ($4.99), a big soft cookie topped with a big scoop of hard vanilla ice cream and lots of whipped cream and chocolate sauce. I was given a requested box for half of my big sandwich. The check total for 1 was $21.31 with tax and before tip. Great looking bar, decent drinks. Service could use some work and the pork quasidilla was not as good as it sounds. The server messed up the order and didn't add the shrimp that was asked for. When it was brought to her attention she did take it off the bill, and eventually the shrimp was brought out about 10 min later. When she brought it out she told us that the up charge was going to be taken off we said ohh thank you you didnt have to do that. And she said very snarky "I know I don't". I don't know, it might have been the bland quasidilla that already had be bummed about being there, but her attitude really let me down. read more

If you are looking for a loud place to enjoy a beverage with friends, you found it. Ambiance is the typical bar scene found in many locations. Lots of tvs, nice size bar big menu of pub fare food. Went with a large group and wouldn't recommend this as a place to be able to chat with friends. Other than the person next to me, I could hear a thing it was so loud. I had a buffalo chicken salad. It was good. The buffalo sauce was definitely not weak. For the price the size was good. I would go back again, but not to have any chance of connecting with friends. If I was looking for a place to eat, somewhat quick, with minimal conversation, this would be the place. There's plenty of parking. Not sure about bringing kids, again, the noise is loud. read more

Pretty standard Applebee's type fare. They're boneless chicken is tenders and they weren't crispy at all but everything else was fantastic. I had seitán "wings" (pictured) with whisky barrel sauce and the beet salad. The seitán is cut into half moon shapes and then prepared like a really good chicken wing. It was actually absolutely delicious. And the beet salad was absolutely on point with pumpkin seeds for crunch and silky smooth goat cheese to make the flavor simply delicious. I was on work hours so I didn't sample the alcoholic fare but it looked very inviting with something for everyone. Will definitely go back again. read more

I have only ordered from this juniors in the past I have never complained but I just ordered during this pidemic and i feel like i just got robbed out of 100 dollars on this trash .I order the same stuff I usually order loaded tots and buffalo chicken dip switched up today and ordered extra due to family being here from out of town . Just for the manager to tell me they dont load tator tots when I've ordered from grub hub for last 3 years from them being loaded .there only good for buffalo chicken dip save ur money go elsewhere. I frequently patron the NG Juniors, and sit at the bar. I can tell you the three times I've chosen to be sat at a table rather than the bar the service was subpar. Friday night my partner and I took my two nieces, and daughter (all over the age of 12) for a bite to eat after a family outing. The hostess sat us rather quickly where we were then greeted by a clearly overwhelmed waitress Jenna M. I worked 10 + years in the service industry so I don't take many things personally when service isn't great during a dinner rush. I got my food (the dirty bird) and discovered a hair in my food. Honestly not a huge deal it happens. My issue? The waitress went to every table around us twice before I chose to say "excuse me" where she then threw her finger up and said "one minute" while shooting me a dirty look. At this point my family was done their food (yes that's how long it took) so I kindly asked the food (that I didn't even take one bite out of) be comped. Like I said I've been a server I get it, but when she basically ripped the food out of my hand without saying a word to me I THEN took it personally. An assistant manager came out and was apologetic, but at that point I was over the entire thing and just wanted to go home. Long story short- if possible sit at the bar. The service there is 10x better. There could be a bar full of people and you'll never wait more than a few minutes for service. Extra points for Ashley, and Jason. I have been going to Juniors for a long time, but I won't be going back unless they go back to their original fries. Some may think feeling so strongly about fries to leave a poor review is a bit much, but the new fries ruin the entire meal. They're limp, soggy, and tasteless. Have been here several times before, love the food, onion petals one of our favorites. Tell all our friends and fam to eat here but they dropped the ball this time. They were on a 25-30 min wait for 2 so decided to sit at the bar to eat, greeted right away, asked for water, then ordered drinks after a quick look at the draft menu. Then? Invisible, bartender that first greeted us went to the other end of the bar, other bartenders looked right over us several times, manager even came behind the bar and helped the people to our right, 2 guys to our left placed food order and sat down 5 min after we did, tried to get someone's attention but no luck. Original bartender finally came down our way walked right past us, that was last straw after being there a good 10-15 min, left money for our drinks and we're out. The food was OKAY. I heard great reviews on the burgers and I have to disagree. It took us 15 minutes to even have our waiters bring menus. Took another 15 minutes to get her back to the table to take our order. When we gave our order, she didn't write anything down and when our order finally reached our table, a bunch of things were wrong. We had to ask ANOTHER waiter to find our waitress and try to fix it. Then after eating, it took 10 minutes to get our check. The lack of good service was obvious here. The moonshine wings were the only thing great about this place. Came here with coworkers for dinner last week. We had a large group and waited a few minutes for a table. We started off with drinks, I had the pear & prosecco drink which was very good. Several coworkers got the mojito and were disappointed because it was too sweet and didn't seem muddled. Everyone else got beer. We got nachos, wings and pretzels for the table and everything was ok. For dinner I got the rib meat quesadilla. Huge portion served with chips. I took the rest home and had it for lunch the next day. It was pretty good. Our first impression walking in from the greeter and meeting our server were very good. It went downhill from there. Our waitress was really friendly and joked with us as we ordered. Drinks and food came at a good pace. The dishes on the table for apps were all spotted and covered with gritty pieces of dried on food. We put those at the end of the table and my husband nicely asked for new ones from our waitress when she came out to check on us. She was friendly and apologetic and said "Oh gross" as she took them and brought back others. My son's pizza was good and his girlfriend's quesadilla was fine. My husband's nachos were lukewarm. My burger was supposed to be medium rare, but it was rare and lukewarm. The worst was the fries which were nothing short of a disaster. The sweet potatoes fries were ice cold the first time I sent them back. The waitress was apologetic and mumbled something about the kitchen needing to get things right. Well, they didn't and the second time they came out they were slightly thawed. "Third times a charm" said our server as she placed them on the table. The fries were hot and edible. I thanked her for bringing them back 2x. She was still friendly but never came back to see if we needed more water or how anything else was. I didn't dare talk about my burger and my husband didn't say anything about his nachos until we were getting ready to go and I realized he had only picked at them. This Juniors is something North Greenbush area really needed. It is a great place to go with all sorts of people ranging from friends to parents to on a date. I have been half dozen times and despite the fact that its always very busy, they have always been able to seat me instantly or within five minutes. I have had great service every time I have gone here. The waiter checks in regularly to see if anything is needed. The one aspect of their service that could use a little work is their hostess station. There is rarely anyone standing there when you walk in (it does not seem to be maned by someone , but rather the staff rotate checking to see if someone is out front which is weird because it is always so busy). I have had to wait 5-8 minutes before someone even noticed I was waiting there. Once you are at your table, the service is great. I really enjoy their wings because they are nice and crispy, saucy but not slimy. I ordered them well done once and I don't know if that really changed anything, so I think they cook them pretty thoroughly. They also have seitan wings here which I have yet to try, but its great if you wait to go to a pub food type place with one of your vegetarian friends. I have really enjoyed all their salads which are large and fresh. There turkey BLT is really delicious. I love veggie burgers so whenever I see one I try to get it at some point. Their veggie burger was really not good. The burger its self was okay, it was the type of veggie burger that is attempting to imitate meat which a lot of vegetarians don't like, but the taste was good. However, the buns and toppings where ehh, it could have used a little love and flavor. Their sweet potato waffle fries are pretty good so I highly recommend substituting. To my surprise, Juniors has breakfast/brunch on the weekends. Classic eggs benedict was delicious. We've also visited for dinner many times and food is good! Nonna's Nachos and the Totchos (nachos ... but with yummy crunchy tater tots!) are so yummy (and are known to cure a hangover!) Good wings and great atmosphere. The waitstaff is always willing to help and have never disappointed us, even when the place is packed. I love the Bulldog wings.
