It's disappointing that you still refuse to take accountability, even after I showed you the vet paperwork proving the bird had pre-existing health issues. Instead, you continue to blame me for the fact that you sold a sick animal. Yes, you refunded part of my money, but let's be honest--your claim that "it's not about the money" doesn't hold up when the owner themselves said, "We can't refund the full $450 because we wouldn't make a profit." That statement alone proves it is about the money. On top of that, when I purchased the bird at the expo, you never gave me the option to leave it in your care until it was fully grown. I'm an experienced bird owner, and I fully understand the care and attention a baby bird requires. If I had read your reviews beforehand, I wouldn't have bought from you because this isn't the first time you've sold a sick bird. One review even describes how another customer's bird became so ill it had seizures. For you to shift the blame onto me instead of taking responsibility as a business owner is beyond disappointing. read more

This business still implies that it was my fault that my bird died. I took great care of it, ensuring it was always fed and kept in great living conditions. When I took it to the vet, even the doctor said that this bird has been sick for a long time prior to my ownership and for this business to be condescending to my initial review only reinforces my concern. Do not recommend getting animals here. These birds are in terrible conditions and not only that we had purchased two conures and 1 died the very next day prior to being sick. Terrible customer service we have 11 birds and know how to handle them they (guy was in denial) should be advising nicely instead of being rude looks like this is not the first incident now by looking at previous reviews. Any ways we ended up getting another one the guy took the dead conure and god knows what but may this place be shut down. read more

So I usually come here for my grandmas bird food and I was able to zelle them since this is a "CASH ONLY PLACE", which I think is annoying and unfortunate. It's 2022. They need to get with the program. This is one reason for the ONE star. Other reasons for a not-so-good review is due to the fact that they are waaaay ridiculously ooooverrrr priced. They literally have toys in there for dogs that I can get at the 99¢ store. Not only are they expensive, they didn't have crap. No dog toys or nothin really. This is just NOT IT. This is a small pet shop in East LA. The owners and relatives are very nice and helpful. The bird selection is very large. They get many semi-exotic birds - grass 'keets, Rosellas, plum-heads, etc. - that sell out fast. They always have ringnecks, conures, budgies, finches, lovebirds, etc. Many birds are tame. They also have many big parrots and macaws. Less expensive than PetDumb. BTW, I do not believe that the birds are mistreated in any way. These birds are way too expensive for the owners to neglect them. That's bad business. If you ever see the owner hand-feeding or holding a baby, like I have, you would see the love and pleasure in his eyes. read more

Junior's is old school pet shop. The way we shopped for pets and supplies before the Internet, before Petco/Pet Smart. Junior's can't compare with the selection at the big boys, but its convenient for simple things such as pet feed, and bedding. Junior's is one of the last places you can find old fashioned hand made hand painted wooden dog houses. They also have a nice selection of large colorful talking parrots, plus plenty of parakeets, Canaries, puppies, kittens... Street parking only. read more

Many exotic birds, wonderful assortment of different breeds, and other small unique pets. Very clean and well maintained. Parrots are often free roaming, tame, and well cared for. Often times they're dancing or singing. All the birds purchased from here have been very healthy and vivacious. We also purchase bird food and pellet food from here. Best prices for all, from food to pets, in entire area and I've gone to all pet stores all around ELA and El Monte. The owner and his family are also very kind and helpful and honest good people. Best place to get your bird! The owners are so sweet and they made everything else better. My family and I had gone to different pet shops that day and it was horrible customer experience or the pets looked sick. The place even had giant birds out I'd the cage so they get their proper exercise. I loved this place! We purchased 2 Australian parakeets and they have been wonderful! They are young so they were easy to tame. Go to this pet shop for f you want a bird! I'm surprised this isn't a 5 star store! It should be. They prices are amazing too! This pet shop isn't the best but they are experienced in hand rearing healthy birds. I purchased a baby hand-tame Conure and after a few years he is my best friend and has never had any health issues or behavior problems. There are different tame birds available from time to time at great prices. They also stock healthy African finches and other small exotic birds. Good quality bulk foods for poultry can be purchased here and are fresh and fairly priced. If you desire a hand tamed parrot of any size, inquire here and they can make it happen. read more

This is an old school pet store! The place has great prices and lots of knowledge. It's not a big fancy place but they love their birds and have lots of accessories, toys and feed. If I could, I would give this place 0 stars. Normally I don't write reviews, but I really had to for this place. The owners of this place SHOULD NOT be allowed to handle any kind of animal as it is obvious they are only doing it for the money. The owners of this shop were at the bird expo "Fremont/San Jose" in the Bay Area this September. It was here, where I purchased an African Grey bird, not knowing that it was not being properly taken care of. With that being said, 2 weeks after I purchased the bird I decided to take him to an Avian Vet to make sure that he was healthy and well. The veterinarian examined and ran several lab tests to determine the health of my bird. Sadly, he informed me that my bird was UNDERWEIGHT, had an ABNORMALLY large beak, HIGH CHOLESTEROL, HIGH TRIGLYCERIDE levels, and was CALCIUM DEFICIENT, all due to a poor diet. The veterinarian explained to me that African Grey birds are prone to health risks when they are on a seed only diet, which was the exact diet this place had my bird under. The Veterinarian gave me advise and tips on what I can do to help my bird gain weight and become a healthy bird but warned that it would be a long journey given that he was so used to a seed only diet. African Greys require fruits and vegetables not just seeds to be healthy and this place was not giving him any fruits or veggies. As if things couldn't get worse, 2 weeks after taking my bird to the Vet, he began having non stop seizures. One again, I took the bird to the Vet and was told the same thing about the poor diet he was under. As of this moment, I don't know what will happen to my bird but I am extremely livid and upset that they treat animals in such a horrible manner. If they truly cared about the birds and any other animal they sell, they would educate themselves on how to maintain and keep them healthy. My advise to others who read this review is DO NOT BUY FROM HERE they just want your money and don't care about the wellbeing of the animals they sell. read more
