I love this place more than any other restaurant in the area. The food is delicious, the staff is super friendly, and they have all of the ingredients posted online. I have very strict dietary restrictions, and there are multiple things I can eat here--which is unheard of for me. I've had it for lunch 4 days/week for the last 6 weeks and have yet to get sick of it. I also love the buy 10 meals get 1 free reward system! The price is pretty standard for NYC lunch food (about $12/meal), but probably seems pricey to anyone else. It's very filling though, and you can have as many veggies as you want with no extra cost. I've also had orders delivered multiple times through seamless and I've never had a problem. I've made all my friends try this place because it is the only place I want to eat at. read more

Was pleasantly surprised by how good Junzi Kitchen was. It was about $8+ for a bing which is just enough food for me without making me feel too heavy or full but satisfied and left me with enough room for dessert. Lots of vegan options that are all labeled. The fillings I had were the mushroom, pickled daikon, garlic chives, scallions, summer squash, cilantro, bean sprouts and a garlic chili sauce. How this place works is you pick your base, either noodles or bing (Northern Chinese street crepe), and add toppings and sauce. They have "chef's recommendations," basically examples of what toppings you can put together, but you can't really go wrong. I'm a fan of the whole wheat bing with beef, just about every topping they have (potato, bean sprouts, long bean, cucumber, scallions, etc.) and garlic chili oil + one of the other sauces, pick whichever. The tofu/mushroom and pork are very good, too. I wouldn't necessarily recommend the noodles but that's just personally, I think they're kinda soggy and less cost effective than the bing, and the bowl portion size with the toppings piled on is a little much for one meal but not enough for two. This restaurant is organized on the same principles as SweetGreen: the staff assemble your order from a set of modular ingredients; you can start with a standard combination but alter the ingredients to your taste. I've been avoiding the place since it opened, because it appears to me that almost no one on the staff knows anything about Chinese food or can speak Chinese. However, I was surprised at the good quality of what I ordered today: * zhàjiàng miàn 炸醬麵 (which they call "jaja noodles") * làzi jīnniúròu 辣子筋牛肉 "spicy beef shank". The noodles were an unusual take on the familiar recipe for meat-and-preserved-beans on noodles, with sauce that was not sweet, plenty of substantial pieces of beef, and julienned cucumber and carrots. The beef, sold separately in a small, refrigerated container, was a reasonable-size side portion for one person. The cost was $16 -- more than I'd expect to pay at a more traditional joint, but I think the meal was worth it. [Edit, 20180204:] I went back today to try the bing with my Other Half: tried mushroom/white sweet potato (山藥); beef; pork/cauliflower. They were all good. Overall, I think the sauces are a little too sweet and that makes the overall experience a little too salty and strong-tasting, but the staff is attentive about adjusting the ingredients. This is a good addition to the neighborhood, and I'll be back. We also tried and can recommend the spicy "smashed cucumber" (liángbàn xiao huángguā 涼拌小黃瓜). read more

I stumbled upon this place walking down Broadway. I was looking for something, not American food, but tasty and healthy. This place was great. If you like Asian food, or Asian styled food, like noodles, authentic mushrooms, and tasty noodles, this is a great place. I ordered the vegan special noodles and a chicken noodles. I thought the vegan special noodles was tastier, but both were still good and tasty. It's a simple menu but the food is tasty and makes you feel comfortably full and not bloated. Prices were also reasonable. It's a nice, clean space, and good for lunch on your own or with friends, and not too crowded. I will definitely go back and try the wraps next time. Loved the vegan noodles and I am inspired by the sauce on the noodles and want to learn how to make it! read more

I ordered the noodle bowl at Junzi with the jaja fermented black bean sauce, daikon, cucumbers, squash, garlic chives, tofu, mushrooms and other vegan toppings. I am a huge fan of this restaurant and think they're making new flavors commonly found in more up-scale restaurants more accessible and quick to get. The bowl of noodles is served very warm and there are options for adding extra chili oil if you're looking for a bigger kick. The environment of the restaurant is sleek and modern, and I really enjoyed having lunch with a friend over a tasty and very filling bowl of noodles. I hope this restaurant rotates out flavors and gives customers more diversity in taste. I'm worried that they will continue to have the same toppings and it will eventually get boring to eat there. read more

This is a great addition to the immediate Columbia neighborhood! Like Sweetgreens you are paying a premium for the real estate, but if you forget to pack a lunch or want to treat yourself, then this is new the place to go to. This is my favorite place to go to in Morningside Heights. I'm on a very restrictive diet because of health issues, and there are multiple things I can eat here. The staff is very friendly and nice, and the manager is great! I absolutely love this place!! I was disappointed to see Deluxe close before this was put in, but had I known the food was going to be this great, I wouldn't have cared! They are also celiac friendly, and will tell you which items are safe (not all are). 10/10 would recommend. Great staff, great food, reasonable prices. What more could you ask for? read more

I hate to be one of the downers of the bunch I got a mushroom whatever else lil bing w/ kale n cilantro because I didn't have enough time to consider my options because I felt rushed through the line bc of all the Columbia kiddos and partially the worker behind the counter probs and rushed probs bc I was feeling sort of annoyed/dumb because all I know ab bings is some stuff I read in bon apetit and didn't know what to expect, the bing had a whole wheat crepe, walked back to where I always eat lunch thing was more lk a burrito n the crepe was tough sort of between dry and gummy, does that make sense, and the thing was dripping out it's rear so I had to bust out a fork and the fork wouldn't cut through the crepe, so I dumped the contents which were okay, probs a lil salty fr my taste, and forked those then tried to figure out what went wrong with the crepe but ran outta time bc luncg time was over n I was STILL BONKERS HUNGRY AFTER I ATE THE $8+ THING (dunno what all this value fr the $$ talk is all ab) and wished I had paid $2 more for a brisket sando w/ mustard at Milano next door, so I probably won't go 2 Junzi again, or toss $ at places with hip marketing n graphic campaigns that r green and white and yellow all over cute whatever, why is it so fun to write single sentence run-on reviews on Yelp, n this place is a college student magnet and I guess that's the point fr $8 I could buy a used book n grow my brain, okay this is toast. read more

I love this place and am so glad it has come to the Columbia University area. It is like "Sweetgreen" for noodles and chun bing, which are types of wraps. The food there is delicious, and there are so many options so it is easy to find food that you like. There is also an abundance of toppings so you can customize your order. I love this Chipotle-style concept for chinese food. I got the Tofu Vegan Bing and it was delicious. The staff recommended I add the daikon and cucumbers to my bing, which I appreciated and enjoyed. My girlfriend and I went in for a late night bite. Don't waste your time here unless you're looking for nothing but fried, greasy snack food. First time here! I remember passing by the place not too long ago and was super intrigued, so naturally it was on my mind when I wanted to grab lunch next. Food is really good. I wasn't expecting much for some reason but was really surprised by the taste and quality of all of the ingredients. I got the spring noodles, with basically all of the toppings on and YUM. Only reason I'm giving this place a 4 star review is because the employees seemed very very confused about everything. They asked if it was my first time (Yes) and if I needed any recommendations (also yes) but when I asked the front lady if she prefers chicken or mushroom noodles she seemed very unsure and at first said the first option and then made a "disgusted" face towards the second option but then quickly changed her mind and said her second option is her fav. It made it seem like she doesn't like the food at all and I actually started second guessing the place. Then I asked another person if the chicken is white or dark meat and they all just looked at each other and they had to go to the back to double check (it ended up being tofu). Not a complete disaster but I do wish they knew about the food they were serving. Very good though! I'm interested to try the bing rolls. read more

I love the furu tofu here! It's much more flavorful and tender than most tofu I've had. The quality here is consistently good and there are a variety of flavor palettes depending on your mood. One issue is the price, though--over $10 for a tofu bowl. The bings are cheaper, but really not enough for a satisfying meal. read more
