Carl was amazing I called from Los Angeles and made arrangements to drive 1.5 hours to his house, he has a workshop out back. I asked him if it would be okay to wait for a diagnosis or possible repair while I had lunch with a friend as I'm from so far away, once he looked at it we could know if I would either leave it or pick it up. He replied yes and I asked him when I could come in and he said today. Whilst having lunch i got a text saying he had found the problem a cracked hose stuck tray and my repair would be $160. A*M*A*Z*I*N*G! Everything everyone else has stated is true! I went to him for my 2 Jura machines. For my Impressa E8, he disassembled the brew group and overhauled it completely. He replaced the seals and overhauled the grinder with new grinder burrs installed. The knob that controls ounce dispensary has been loose for awhile and he even tightened that up and now it actually works. Machine was descaled and cleaned inside and out. Works like new! Plus, he taught me some things about both brewing and filtering which I had never known and made a world of difference. For my A1, which I couldn't get to pass the filter phase into brewing, he helped me so I could work the machine again. He's fast, he's thorough and he explains everything so you understand what he's doing. He is simply the best! read more

I spent most of my morning going back and forth with JURA and came to the conclusion that I was going to have to send out my employer's JURA machine to Pennsylvania for costly repairs. We live in Los Angeles and generally avoid the freeways, but Long Beach-based Carl is worth the drive! We'd previously used HighTechEspresso for repairs. The owner does good work, but is so grumpy and the turn-around so long that I decided the 25-mile drive to Long Beach was preferable to dealing with him again. Carl is an affable and very patient guy. His fees are fair and -- hang on! -- if he can't repair it for less than Jura's own flat-rate service, he will tell you that. I just purchased a Jura ENA9 and the seller gave me his info highly recommending him.. I just didn't realize I would be needing his assistance so soon! My office has a Jura XS90 which we acquired from another office. It stopped working on a Weds. It sounded like the motor was stuck in coffee grinding mode. Several of the staff started to panic. They love this coffee machine! Several years ago, the machine had a minor issue and I started looking for a repair place. I only found (out of state repair shops). One of the employees figured out what was wrong with it. Now, it was no longer working! I prayed to find a repair shop in southern CA and juraexpert.com came up. As I was grinding my coffee with my Baratza Encore, the wingnut fell off and into the burr. After I was able to pry it out, my grinder was making a weird repetitive noise. I was panicking and was almost about to just take the loss and buy a new grinder. However, I found Carl and messaged him to see if he could work on it. I sent him a text and he was quick to respond.
