Last time I was there was many years ago. This time ( Thursday ) was very disappointed. Ordered Linguisa and eggs. Linguisa was burned and the portion small. Most places serve a whole link, mine was half a link. Eggs were fine. Hash browns small portion. Biscuit was hard as a hockey puck. Coffee was okay. Cost of meal, minus the coffee, was $10.25. I'm usually up for trying new places and we kept driving past it saying ya we will. So this time we forwent our normal nearby place to go here. I now know why we never stopped. The food wasn't hot it was mildly warm, the chorizo and eggs were not flavorful at all, and the country potatoes were definitely cold in spots. I didn't finish my meal for sure and once they served the meal they never came back until she dropped of the check and quickly walked away. Absolutely delicious food.. Always had a good bite when I've come to Just Breakfast. The place is not too big and it does get packed on weekend mornings. Has a bit of an old touch but makes you feel "honey". Sometimes they might take a while to serve you your food, but then it definitely hits the spot. My father and I have been coming to Just Breakfast for quite a while now, feels good to go in and be recognized by the staff, makes it more welcoming. Also goes to show how much they really care for their guests. Aside from being very welcoming and having good service, the food is delicious. I myself am a very picky eater but that is never the problem when I go to Just Breakfast. The omelettes for sure Beat Denny's and IHOP's. I rather be on the waitlist for JB then to go elsewhere. I say save your money. My husband and I used to come here often but the service and quality have changed and declined over the past year. I had a bad experience about 6 months ago with my food being served to me cold and when I notified the waitress she brought it back to me 2 minutes later after she threw it in the microwave. Ever have mircowaved eggs? Rubbery and nasty so of course I sent it back and left hungry..She blamed it on the chef. My hubby and I went back today to give it another shot. Same thing again, food came out cold and this time the restaurant was pretty empty so there should be no excuse for cold food. Once again the waitress blamed the chef because he was new. Wow ok. Stopped at just breakfast had it been in here for a while there are some new waitresses. Sat there for at least 20 minutes while I watched everybody else being served her breakfast then she was trying to give us our ticket for us to pay and I told her we haven't even gotten our food yet. Instead of admitting that the ticket got lost and giving us a discount on our food it was brought to our table in increments first where is the biscuits and gravy that was supposed to be served with my husband's meal instead he got a dry plate with an egg on it it was horrible. Then she tried to tell me that because I wanted my eggs Benedict special we made that that's why it was late when she put the tip plate on the table the exit slid off of the muffins and it just looked horrible then no discount we paid $30 for that meal how ridiculous at least my bulldog loves breakfast read more

It's been a while since I found a breakfast joint that knocks my socks off. It was either Mama's in North Beach or La Taza in the Mission. It's nice to know that I don't have to drive 55 miles, wait 40 minutes in almost freezing temperature, or extend offerings to the Parking Gods to grant me the much coveted spot on Mission or Dolores, for a hearty scramble chorizo that costs less than $10. If you don't mind the nearly decrepit, shack-like building in not the most nicest part of town, you're in for a breakfast treat that will leave you pleasantly plump. read more

Small little cozy diner which serves up a mean breakfast! I came here starving and was excited to get my breakfast on.. Their hash browns are the best! Crispy and fried, just the way I like them! I ordered their California Omelet which is avocado, tomato, cheese and bacon stuffed inside fluffy scrambled eggs and topped with sour cream. Yum! What's not to love? This place was recommend to me by a local. I was really excited because of the hype but once I was here I was a bit turn off by the exterior of the place and the parking limited but decided to still give it a try.The coffee is REALLY light but I do like rich coffee. I ordered the Mexicali Omelette and it was bland and watered-down I wasn't really impressed with this place. I order a bacon waffle it was pretty good. But as far as the food here a croissant from the Starbucks menu taste better. I will not be stopping by again or recommending this place simply because I've tasted better food. read more

Just breakfast??? More like just stay home!!! HORRRRRRRRRRIBLE!!!!!!!!!! Ok, so my boyfriend and I went there on a Sunday brunch hour (around 10:00 am). It was our first time there. We didn't know how seating worked. So we walk in, no one even glances at us. The waitresses/bus boys/OWNER all ignore us and have their backs turned to us. We're literally right at the front desk/register area for five minutes just staring at peoples' backs. So finally the owner turns around, not even a Hi! How are you? Just a blank stare. So we say, Two please. He writes it down. Another blank stare. So we give him our name without being prompted. No big deal, but still terrible customer service. We sit down to wait, and it takes about 15 minutes. Standard. No big deal. However!!! When we sit down after waiting, a group of four local women comes in and sits down in a table right next to us. Meanwhile there's a larger group of people that had been waiting just as long as we had. Really???? This happened on three separate occasions in the first 15 minutes. So I guess if you're out of town you get horrible service, but if you're local you'll get your food and be on your way. Glorious. Well, our waitress comes over about 10 minutes later after we sat down. We give her our drink order. 8 minutes later she comes back with our drinks, and goes to take our order, but then she goes oh wait a minute, I have to ask these people first. Takes another table's order. Ok fine, unprofessional, but fine. But then it takes another 12 minutes to get back to us. Oh I timed it. I was wicked irritated at this point. Finally takes our order. It's now around 10:30ish. Everyone around us seems to be getting food. Yep. We got our food at 11:30. I ordered bacon, eggs, toast, and hashbrowns. My boyfriend ordered pancakes with ONE strip of bacon, and scrambled eggs (except it came out as an egg over easy). It took an hour for that???? It didn't even taste that good! Not to mention the syrup must've sat for so long it was literally like looking at an oil pit from the Ice Age. So nasty. The waitress was nice, but looked like she was about to keel over. It was the worst service ever. It was not friendly. They just looked annoyed that you were there. The icing on the cake was when a couple sat down next to us as we were finishing, around 12:15, and got the same treatment we did. It took 15 minutes for them to flag a bus boy down to get them coffee. The waitress hadn't even come up yep! I gave them my sugar and cream so they could at least have some condiments. One of my favorite places to go for breakfast in this city. There is usually a short wait on the weekends, but very worth it. The biscuits and gravy taste homemade, and the omelettes are large and filling, very very good. The cost is so cheap, you can get out of there for less than $15 for two people. The only downfalls are the size of the place, limited parking and the coffee. The restaraunt is very small and doesn't have seating for more than 8 people at a time. But fill that coffee up with cream and sugar and it is drinkable. read more

So the hubby and I wanted to go someplace that is closer to home rather than driving far just for IHOP. So, he recommended we try this place since he had been here before, but the branch in Morgan Hill. So, I gave it a try. First experience was great. Food was OK (not really to die for... but edible.) Service was good and quick. We were seated really fast and the waitress got us our orders quickly. Overall experience: QUICK AND PAINLESS. Second experience was better. Seated quickly and got our food quick. I decided to try something new so I got biscuits and gravy with eggs, and sausage. It was delicious even though I can tell the gravy came out from a can due to the metallic taste to it. Still.... edible. Lol Overall experience: QUICK AND PAINLESS Third experience was....REGRETTABLE! We were waiting to be seated for probably half an our or so, even though there was a table ready, and some people left.. no one was cleaning the tables after them so the next customers can be seated ASAP, so we just stood there...waited some more. When we finally got seated, our waitress was either high as a kite or drunk. She didn't know what part of the menu came with what. The hubby ordered the Spinach Omelette (already have biscuits and gravy on the side) but you have other options to choose from as a 2nd side which are biscuits and gravy or toast or hash browns. Hubby explained to her that he's already getting the biscuits and gravy with the meal so he'd rather want to get something else as the 2nd side.. maybe the toast with it. She didn't get it. (it doesn't help that their menu is ridiculously confusing). He tried explaining it to her, but he got frustrated and was like... "F it... get me biscuits and gravy then since that's what you wanna give me." I got the biscuits and gravy meal that came with eggs and sausage (since I liked it before.) We waited for maybe an hour for our food to come out. =( While waiting... a homeless person came inside the restaurant and just walked around,,staring at the people eating. AWKWARD!! As I'm watching this, and seeing the horrified look of other customers trying to eat their meal peacefully... no one, not one of their staff talked to the homeless person and maybe escorted her out so the customers can eat in peace!!! Not ONE! And none of the staff was even around to check on their customers on how they're doing. It's like, once they got your order, they hide somewhere until your food is ready and they come out and take it to your table... then go on hiding again!! That is seriously what happened here. When we got our food... Spinach Omelette was horrifying!!! The hubby took a bite of it.. and he was disgusted. Just imagine.... green shit all over yellow eggs. YEP. We called the waitress and he asked if they used fresh spinach or one from the can. She responded and I quote "It's sliced spinach!!"... and he was like..... "so i'd take that as CANNED SPINACH."... She's like... "ummm YES. I'll just get you another biscuits and gravy and call it even". Our jaws dropped.... and decided.... WE ARE NOT COMING TO THIS PLACE EVER AGAIN!! I've been on the hunt for the best eggs benedict and hand down this place has the most amazing hollandaise sauce I've ever had! That's really what keeps me going back. If you have trouble picking from the menu, do as I do, pick from the specials posted on the boards, I don't think you can go wrong. I wasn't sure if I read it correctly so I had to ask, "Does that REALLY say SPAM and EGGS?". My waitress, Lori (Laurie?) cheerfully confirmed and it was a done deal. AND THEN! She asked for my toast preference. I had a choice of toast, biscuit or pancake. Naturally, I chose the biscuit. AND THEN! She offered GRAVY on it! Food was okay. Got a fruit bowl that was 90% honeydew. Literally got 1/2 cube of watermelon. I'm okay with being disappointed by a fruit bowl though. Meal easily came out to $16 for not that much food. The worst was the waitress though. Rude to say the least. Dropped the check 2 minutes after I got my food. Which I'm fine with, but all she said was "how's everything?" I said it was good and she just dropped it. No "no rush" or "I'll just leave this here." I'm a big eatter and I've got to admit there's no skimping here. I tend to get either the California or chorizo omlette. Since I moved out of the neighborhood, I'm going to try to motivate some appreciative people to take my place. The BEST days for the best service are Monday through Friday. The menu's the same, but weekends can be crowded. The staff tries not to push anyone, but the line at the door can intimidate. I still try to get back on Tuesdays for my favorite waitress, who has memorized my quirky favorite meal, and occasionally reminds me. All the waitresses will do that if they've seen you a couple times. Apparently if you can't smile, you can't work here. If you're a sports or tv addict and you sit at the counter, the manager will often tune in what you're dying to see. The menu is amazingly large, with choices in every category: main, sides, bread. The GREATEST feature of the menu choices is what they call "AdJUST your BREAKFAST'. It means substitutions are VERY flexible. I've had maybe half their breakfast choices, and a couple of their brunch sandwiches and never been unhappy. I do NOT call myself a Foodie. If something is not quite right/ not cooked right, you can get it fixed. The seasonings added by the cook are usually just great. If you want some main dish or side dish with a little something extra, or something omitted, it's not a problem. And, before I forget, the coffee is the best premium commercial stuff, and I don't mean Starbucks. The menu includes lots of quality items, and choices of dishes that must strain the brain of the 2 or more cooks on duty. The fact that everything is prepared from scratch shows when the flavors come out a little different on different days. Still, the cooks know how to use seasoning. If I can drive 12 miles each way on a Tuesday, you might want to discover why. Decor is very simple and homey (ask), slightly crowded tables, and clean freaks might not be comfortable. The tables are given a quick once-over to keep the crowds moving on weekends. At the counter, you can meet a variety of patrons: musicians, bikers, retired folk, and laborers.. Very interesting. Last year I discovered that the manager feeds the hungry and lonely at this restaurant each Thanksgiving for brunch. She deserves our support. read more

This is the Jamarcus Russell of breakfast joints. Maybe it was the hubcap stacks in the parking lot. Or maybe maybe it was the pictures on the menu (always a bad sign). But I left as fast I could to find haven in my bathroom. I ordered the Huevos Burrito and my girlfriend the Omelette Acapulco, we seemed to have recieved the same thing: grizzly-spotted eggs drowned in a mud colored sauce, the sauce so fresh it hadnt been strained, so we had the privilege of having chunks of celery and onion along with the chunks of mealy avocado and tomato. As soon as im done with this glass of pepto im heading back to give them one of my old strainer caps. read more
