Pretty solid spot ! I always drive by on 610 and seeing their sign, wondering what this is about. I committed to it today ! It's has a good amount of parking spots, sharing with other businesses but shouldn't be an in issue. Upon entry, you can choose to eat there or order to go. The place doesn't smell like a Mediterranean restaurant, like the name would suggest. It has plenty of options. I chose a falafel wrap and a lentil soup. The wrap tasted good. The falafels weren't too dry. The sauce was a bit watery. They finish the assembly by pressing it on a pan. Unfortunately, one side was warm, the other was still cold, so holding that wrap was a bit strange. I also wished it was cut in half or using a thicker paper for how messy this can be. The lentil soup is on the watery side. Good amount of lentils, a few bits of celery and carrots. The other soup is creamier, so I'll look for it next time. They were serving a pasta dish and some salads were ordered and looked yum. Overall meal cost me about $20 ($13+7, if my memory serves me right). Kind gesture to serve me a cup of iced water without asking. So yes, I'll be back! read more

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was frustrating. The nachos tasted off, service was inattentive (had to repeatedly ask for water), and my dessert order was never brought out. As a ClassPass user, I expected to be treated like any other paying customer. I want to edit- my sister did pay and purchase the desi falfel plate and a chocolate mousse (which never came). Very underrated falafel spot! It's a nice restaurant right off the highway. I like the interiors and it had its own parking lot. The menu was super interesting, they also have chipotle style bowls that you can customize and make your own. I got a custom bowl with jackfruit as my protein! Very unique and delicious! This place should be packed out the door. Came here around 9 on a Thursday and was so glad it closes at 11. Most vegan places are closed early. Let me start by saying Ravi is such an amazing server, he really carried The Whole experience!! From his recommendations, to his playful banter, he was amazing!! Now the food... WOW. The portion sizes are huge!! Prices range from 10-20 and everything so good from the guac, has a nice spice kick, to the hummus trio which was sooooo good. To the star of the show the falafel plate. Honestly was genuinely surprised it was so good. It is so chic and has a beautiful aesthetic and ambiance as well. Mint lemonade was fresh and wonderful. Will be back often. read more

This was an unexpected, and delightful find, on the service road just inside the Loop near Westheimer. From the outside, I expected to walk into a little shopping center diner. What we walked into, was a chic bar setting, with various seating arrangements, including trios of love seats around tables, in lieu of booths. My girlfriend thought it was romantic. At first, I thought it was a salad bar where one would order a bowl and take it to a table, but we were soon seated and handed menus. There is no animal protein offered, hence the name: "just Falafel". What we got was a culinary delight! A robust lentil soup, a gorgeous beet hummus, and a beautiful rice pilaf topped with roasted tomatoes, onions, and falafel. Upon arriving, I was wondering if it was a salad bar like chipotle ordering but a waitress eventually gave me a menu and said I could sit wherever and said I could do a bowl if I wanted. I liked the decor it was a nice chill vibe and I was hungry and honestly should have ordered a larger order because my tacos didn't really fill me up. I was waiting to see if I would be asked if I wanted dessert but the guy was just hanging around until I finally got up to pay. I would have ordered more if asked but they didn't so I just left. A friend and I got together for brunch and decided to check this place out early one Sunday Morning. I was running a bit late starting my Sunday, so didn't get a chance to make my own coffee, which was fine because thankfully this place serves some! Except that when we got there we were informed that they had just opened at 10am, (we got there at 10:15am) and they had no bartender on site. The coffee machine was in the bar vicinity and no one working at that time knew how to work the coffee maker. My friend and I were super sad, and we really are caffeine fiends, so we left to get some coffee from a place nearby. We got back an hour later, caffeinated and happier, and lo and behold a bartender was there! I know this place is new, and while I don't understand not planning for coffee fiends for Sunday Brunch, I am sure they are figuring things out, so they get a pass. When you enter you get seated and get a menu, but there's also the option to order from a salad/bowl bar. My friend opted for that while I ordered the desi falafel plate. My friend also ordered a rose coffee/tea thing they had and she loved it so much she wanted to get a second before heading home. Our food came out quickly and was pretty good. Lots of sauce options were also provided, and I love a good sauce. We ordered table friend (hello, Joey) and they were so fresh, also they had that thing going on that I find so rare- crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Love me a good fry like that! My desi falafel tasted unique, and I enjoyed it, but I did find something lacking and found I needed the sauces to make that dish more serviceable. looking for a nearby vegan restaurant and found this place. I went for the hummus, but ended up getting the pasta with feta instead. I was not disappointed! In fact, I ate half of it and saved the other half for my flight back home. Something to look forward to! Flavorful and filling. It comes with two garlic bread slices. I would suggest that they heat it up more as it wasn't very hot when I received it, including the bread. There were many options that I would've liked to try, but one can only afford so much. I did order two baklava's to go, the chocolate and pistachio. I tried them later at home so it's hard to say what it would've been like if I ate it right away versus when I did eat it. They were pretty good, but I preferred the pistachio over the chocolate. The chocolate was a bit too dry. I do think they could've put more syrup on them to make it a little more sweeter as It was not very sweet at all. I really do love their ambience here! A really good place to get together with friends and catch up over a nice meal! The owner's husband checked on me a few times which I appreciated! He was very nice and gave me a sample of their gyro, which is delicious by the way. I definitely would come back & I suggest you give this place a try! *Actual visit was actually a few weeks ago* I immediately decided to try this place out as soon as I saw they offer no onion, no garlic options and I dragged a friend (omnivore, but will try everything once) along with me. As a note, I'm an allium free vegetarian and vegan eateries are often a challenge because they rely so much on alliums. The place is located off the feeder road of 610 on the first floor to a multilevel building, so it is pretty convenient with a shared parking lot. It's unassuming but they were definitely going for the Instagram vibe. Nice and airy, modern, and clean with an open kitchen. They gave out gyro samples (which I couldn't have) to get feedback on. Well, turns out it is (was) during the soft opening stage. They were planning on making a separate no onion/garlic menu for Jains but for now, they just have a short note under a few dishes. I was originally interested in the loaded falafel nachos, but he said that the falafel wrap was probably better. Turns out their main allium-free sauce is the spicy tahini sauce. I hope they expand it! As it is, I got the: FALAFEL WRAP: pretty good and perfectly filling (as in not too filling but I also didn't feel hungry). It was a little dry, but they brought over a small cup of extra sauce for dipping halfway through. Please do that, because it was a good move. TRUFFLE FRIES: my friend got this with the intention of sharing. We did it after they said that all their fries were allium free. Well, turns out they mean the fries base because they load it up because that sauce? There was a definite strong odor. I dug deep because the sauce is only on top and they were good! The fake parm was very flavorful, as vegan parm usually is, but it worked well! DESI FALAFEL PLATE: if I could have anything on the menu, I would have chosen this one. My friend did instead. :) It was epic! Considering how this is only a few dollars more than my wrap, this is definitely the better deal. I didn't really try it but it was a nice spread. My friend thought it was good but was confused by the huge onion halves in the middle. We were getting full but needed some caffeine so we got drinks after: SWEET FLOWERS LATTE - my friend got this. It's supposed to have rose and lavender notes but the lavender overpowered it. Not bad, but could have more oomph. ROSE BUSH MACCHIATO - yep, you can taste the rose and it isn't too strong. The caffeine level was great. I liked this drink! Overall, staff was nice? They only had one person on the floor (maybe a manager/owner) so service was slow as soon as they got more than 2 tables. I loved how they were offering Jain options but it was mostly limited to falafel, egg, and sides. The fun items were not available to me. I was thrilled to eat falafel I didn't need to make myself! That was nice. I got 12 falafels to go to have my family try them out. Hubby thought they were fine, but that's just what he says to everything but coffee. Picky daughter ate half and my youngest (multiple food allergies including wheat, peanuts, eggs, tree nuts, and avocado) made a face. He has texture preferences and I guess falafel didn't do it. So so so excited about this addition to the Houston vegan scene. I personally don't like falafel but was excited to read the menu and see that it includes sandwiches, pastas, kababs and soups! (All of which I ordered because I have no self control) Everything I got was incredible. The menu has obviously been meticulously crafted and perfected. Each dish was unique but equally as flavorful and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was incredible and well thought out.. even down to the coffee mugs matching the accent wall. So impressive. The restaurant was extremely classy and comfortable, versatile enough to be perfect for date night or study sessions. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. I had the joy of meeting the owner and it's clear he and his wife have poured an incredible amount of thought and passion into this place. I saw plenty of gluten free, nut free, and Jain friendly options to serve any of these dietary restrictions. They also have a full bar, which is so exciting! I don't get on here to review restaurants often, but I had to make an exception today. This afternoon a very new friend and I met to have lunch and Just Falafel could not have been more perfect and I'm not even vegetarian! Firstly, when I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised by the decor being so inviting and chic. I love a restaurant booth, but even the tables looked comfortable and lend themselves to staying and enjoying your meal and your time. Shah (the owner?), waited on us and asked about allergies, which I unfortunately have so I'm always grateful to be asked. The menu was very allergy friendly and even if Shah wasn't there to lend his expert knowledge, I could clearly see menu each item's allergens, if any. We started with the hummus appetizer that was fresh and topped with cucumbers, tomatoes(?), olives and parsley. It was an elevated presentation on the typical hummus offering--it will be hard to go back to regular hummus after this. I had the Desi plate and the falafel was flavorful and perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside-- served over fluffy rice. My friend had the jackfruit tacos and was equally happy with her order. The food styling included unique wooden serving plates and you could tell the owner took time to find what would perfectly work with the food and the restaurant interior. I used to do hospitality interior design--this place is what you want to see in a locally owned business--cohesive all the way through from the food to the interior with welcoming service. They have two really cute instagram moments for pics, a full bar and coffee bar, and a patio!! It's such a great neighborhood addition. As we wrapped up our lunch, Shah treated us to the best chai either of us have ever had. The clay cup it was served in was beautiful and the perfect end to the meal. I had flown into town, it was getting late and my sister was looking for a place that might have vegan options. I was dubious, since it was almost 11pm. She found this place, and they were getting ready to close. We asked if it were too late to order something to go, and the owner said we should really eat there because the food would taste better (probably the mix of hot/cold items in the wraps that wouldn't taste the same later. He said they'd be closing up but we'd have 30 minutes. We got wraps, where we could pick from a wide selection of fillings, and sat down to eat. Everything was so fresh and tasty, the the spicy sauce I got with mine was also really good. I believe it's a husband and wife team who own and run this restaurant, the man, Shah, was there and he came over and talked with us. He told us some history of the place and the experience of having a vegan restaurant in Texas. He was very kind, very genuine. I'm glad we went at night (although next time we'll get there earlier!) because it had such a nice ambience. It's so well designed, the colors are perfect, the furnishings are great, and the lighting is low so the place just seemed to sparkle. It's very cosy and cute. Next time I'll take pictures, I didn't see any up here that captured the charm as I saw it. TLDR-this place is a gem, and I dare say many would like it even if they weren't vegan. I've been here a number of times and the food is always alright but the service always exceptional . Recently I've noticed that any time I tip the employees at this location it's always denied or made to understand that they aren't allowed to receive tips. I love this place and would love so much more to be able to thank the hard working women and employees who work so hard to provide the amazing service. I would imagine that under the FLSA that the tips the business is receiving would be provided solely to the employee as it is their sole property by law. I'd be happy to know that these employees are receiving the gratuity that we as customers are making sure we provide them with in exchange for the great seevice, but it doesn't seem like they are. read more

Very modern and clean bathrooms as well. I tried the masala fries first and those were very crisp, potato-y, and seasoned well. The Mac and cheese was a bit on the blander side though. It was indeed creamy and crisp though, but I wish there were more spices. I quite liked the falafel plate. It was some of the best falafel I've had... extremely crispy and flavorful. It paired nicely with the grilled vegetables and pickles. The Indian dipping sauce tied everything together nicely but it was such a small portion that I quickly ran out of. I wish it was a larger portion because I'm a sauce guy for sure. So many things on the menu sounded delicious and I look forward to coming back and trying more. read more
