Be careful when you add the hot sauce, it's not for the weak. But so so good. I like to tell them to drop the fries first because if not, you'll end up waiting a bit, because it's made to order. There are 4 options, a small bowl is $10 and a regular bowl is $11 -- falafel, chicken only, beef only, and combo chicken & beef. Combo chicken & beef is the best IMO. The chicken by itself was pretty over-cooked and wasn't as seasoned very well compared to the beef. Plenty of parking spots in the small lot adjacent to the building. There are a few tables indoors and also an outdoor seating area with plastic tents over it. Only free toppings are white onions & green peppers. Will be coming back in the future! read more

I picked up my food and when I got home, I took it out of the bag and noticed something moving in it. It was a small flying insect. I didn't open the container and took it to the outside trash container. I tried to reach out privately to Halal Guys, but never received a response. Yes, despite its official address, it is on the Fannin side of the building that takes up the space, off Capitol, from Main to Fannin. On a Saturday you will not find lines, and will have plenty of seating choices, inside and out on the sidewalk, to choose from. I had the Chicken Gyro Sandwich, Fries, and a bowl of Baba Ghanoush, a mashed cooked eggplant dip. All were excellent, and worth the price. The inside had plenty of seating and was well laid out, and the employees friendly, and efficient. This Halal guys is in such a great location as it is close to my office. It is a ice welcome as my co workers and I had just started coming back to the office. It was just a matter of minutes down to down. I ordered a small platter with chicken that came with rice , vegetables, and slices of pita bread. Halal guys will top your rice platter with white sauce and red sauce. The red sauce is lethal so ask for 1 or 2 lines should be enough. The spiciness balanced well with lettuce and tomatoes. Solid lunch spot within walking distance of a lot of downtown offices. Gyro platters are tasty and consistent with their other locations. You can't go wrong with white sauce.. It's a very clean and new location which is inside a downtown building. They have tables for inside seating. Their system was down/having trouble taking my order that day but none the less the staff was able to have the food ready and prepared for me when i got there. I ordered from this location online today through Uber Eats. My order was perfectly packaged and absolutely everything about the nuances in my requests was met, and delivery was relatively quick. The combo chicken and gyro plate was delicious, the rice was flavorful, but the lettuce tasted like it had been doused in chemicals. Truly horrendous in flavor, and unfortunately the lettuce took up half of my bowl. I realize the establishment is not likely growing their own lettuce for daily use, so the taste of the lettuce is quite possibly not the fault of the establishment (unless they washed it with the chemicals I'm tasting), but I will say that as a matter of quality control, the lettuce was a terrible choice and I will not order any meal from them again with lettuce on it or around it. The 3 stars is to indicate just how bad the lettuce was. Make no mistake, everything else was delicious, but due to the way the delivery item was packaged, tasting the lettuce every other bite even when trying to avoid it really ruined the experience. The fries were not impressive & I really like fries so that was disappointing. They didnt taste bad at all, just regular crinkle fries. My friend ordered a falafel & she liked it, didnt rave about it though. My favorite part of the meal was the hibiscus lemonade. It was sweet, but not too sweet; and really fresh/homemade tasting. Been a Halal guys fan since NYC and they followed me to 14th street when they opened their first concept store just 2 blocks away and now it seems they followed me to Houston as I am right across the street to my favorite Halal spot here in downtown!
