These guys were amazing! They came and installed a Nest thermostat for free! They cleaned my AC unit and did maintenance and replaced my filters. They didn't charge me a penny because of a program with the City of LA. They were really fast and provided all the information I needed. read more

We contacted Just One Call after participating in LADWP's Optimization program. Scheduling was easy and Greg arrived during the expected time. He installed Nest Thermostat E and showed me how to use it manually and through the app. He also adjusted freon level, replaced my filter and cleaned the condenser coil. He was professional, efficient and respectful. He had noticed I took off my sandals before entering my house and asked if it was ok for him to come in with shoes. After I said of course he can, he wiped his shoes a few more times before entering. Respectful! I will continue to work with Just One Call and preferably ask for Greg to continue with any service my AC unit may need. read more

TOTAL CROOKS!! Forced to use them from warranty company (American Home Shield). Told me our a/c unit was totally out of refrigerant but they could fix for $735 out of my pocket... What's the home warranty for?!?! Said it needed 12 pounds of refrigerant at a cost of $65 of which the warranty company would pay for $10 bringing my cost to $55 per pound. When I called our San Diego based a/c contractor, he told me a 4 ton unit should only need 8 pounds and his customer cost is $50 per pound. Seems like the warranty company just wants them to mark it up so they don't have to pay anything? My locally based contractor also said if a unit totally runs out of refrigerant it is likely damaged beyond repair and will not hold it in the long term or even beyond a week in some cases. Of course, the warranty company would rather take their chances. Back to JUST ONE CALL... I got a call from the home warranty company shortly after their call asking about my repair. They told them I declined service which I did but they replaced 2 parts in the unit which THEY DIDN'T!! So they not only tried to scam me but the warranty company too! Bottom line... We are getting a new a/c unit, cancelling our home warranty and WILL NEVER USE JUST ONE CALL!! read more

I got connected to this company through Fidelity home warranty. My Air conditioner was out for 5 days and I took off work in order to meet the technician and I let them know when I waited 5 days that I have 2 kids under the age of 5 who are not doing well with the heat. My window to meet the technician was from 12-4 PM. I was in the middle of doing something at my house and made sure to come back to my phone at 12pm exactly to find out that the tech showed up at 11:50 PM and called me and left a voicemail, then waited 2 minutes and left. I called 3 times in 10 minutes to get him to come back and there was no answer. I called in and tried to make a complaint and the operator refused to connect me to management. Refused to give me his last name. First is supposedly David but that could be a lie. When I asked for the last name for my records as I wanted to file a complaint and he said find another company and hung up the phone. This is a very unprofessional company. Do NOT USE. read more

After reading the reviews and noting that all the bad reviews are on insurance calls I decided to add my two cents. I was not impressed the last 2 years with the companies that AHS sent out. But this one was the final straw. They walked in wanting to upcharge me. They said nothing was covered by insurance but $10 off freon at $85 per pound. Only $199 to clean the cobwebs out of my condenser. I told them to leave. I called my local company that I used last year instead of the company AHS sent and got my freon for $40 per pound. Bottom line is that insurance doesn't pay them a lot, so they will do what they can to make it worth their time. It shouldn't be out of my pocket. I'm cancelling AHS. read more

I had the misfortune of dealing with Just One Call. They were were the contractors provided to us from our Home Warranty company (American Home Shield) when our Central Air Conditioning unit stopped working. They gentleman that came out initially, was fantastic. He showed up on time (I may have been the first appointment) and he inspected the unit, thoroughly and explained to me exactly what he was looking at and what he was doing. He concluded the unit needed to be replaced (27 year old unit). He placed the Replacement Order with American Home Shield the next day, and I was told by American Home Shield that the unit was ready for pick up that Friday. This was fantastic...as it was the dog days of summer. Temps regularly over 100 degrees and the house was over 95 at night. It just did NOT cool down. I have two small children, so getting our Central Air back up and running was imperative. I was expecting a call from Just One Call on Friday, August 3rd to schedule an appointment. I got no such call. I tried to call them after work, but of course they close at 5. Very inconvenient. So, now I have to go the entire weekend with a hot house. (I did buy a window air conditioner to try to make it through the weekend. It only helped a little). I called Monday during my lunch break and was told by Just One Call that they were waiting on a Pickup Number. I told them that American Home Shield said they emailed it to them already, and I was told that they did NOT provide the correct number and to call American Home Shield to get the correct number. This is where I have a problem. Why do I have to make that call? You're the ones partnering with American Home Shield. YOU CALL!!! Anyway, I called American Home Shield, but of course I'm on hold for the rest of my lunch and have to get back to work. I call after work, (after 45 minutes of waiting) I'm told that they sent the number to Just One Call the Thursday before and that the unit was ready for pickup. They even told me where it was. I asked for the Pickup Number, they gave me an Order Number. I call Just One Call the next day, to give them the Order Number, they said that's not the right number, they want a pick up number...OMG...This went on for days. I'm getting upset now, these two companies won't talk to each other, I can't get a hold of American Home Shield during the day because the hold times are ridiculous, Just One Call answers the phone quickly but won't tell me anything, won't contact American Home Shield, and won't transfer me to a supervisor. After 6 SIX weeks of this ****, I finally get a call to get the unit installed. I am so disgusted and frustrated about this whole experience that I can't imagine how either of these companies is in business. I'm glad my experience isn't typical of every reviewer on here, but apparently, I'm not the only one. I cannot tell you how upset I am at Just One Call. ARGH!!!! read more

Additionally, stating incorrect info, etc., is another sign of the type of service u can expect. If I receive any additional "threatening, "extorting", show-no-respect-for-privacy messages against me, I "may" remove my review, but isn't that what Just One Call wants - threaten someone to remove a negative review of them?! As other Yelp users have said, "Be warned" and see the negative BBB customer reviews! As I had to hire another reputable vendor to fix the problem. Did other Yelp users posting negative reviews also received "threatening, "extorting", show-no-respect-for-privacy actions against them, and then decided to delete their negative review and so "only" fake positive reviews remain?! Unbelievable behavior from a "business"! 10/04/20 Removed original review to remove Just One Call's threatening, "extorting", show-no-respect-for-privacy with business transaction message. Re-posting previous 9/10/20 review: Just one Call was recommended by Home Warranty for a new furnace replacement.  Given that it was winter, delay was expected, but it was a long wait. After the installation, Just one Call had to come back several times to work on the furnace because the furnace/heater wasn't operating properly.  Just One Call refused to provide information on the issues and problems, but there is a problem.   Additionally, it appears related equipment has been damaged during their repair and I am now trying to schedule another HVAC tech to perform the damage that was caused.   Disappointed with the careless-ness and the damage caused and required repair. read more

(NEGATIVE 5 STARS) NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE A EVER FELT SO RIPPED OFF AND SO TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF. I called this company out to my house to unclog a drain line for my central a/c unit. Water was dripping all over the place and feeding back into my house soaking my carpets. I could not run my a/c. I was charged $300 to unclog a piece of pvc pipe. The technician cut the pipe, used compressed air to blow out the clog, then glued the pipe back together. It took the technician no more than 20 minutes of actual work time total.....and I was charged $300!!!! No this was not an emergency call. Yes this was during consistent 100+ degree temperature. Do I feel I was screwed over, absolutely...... Unfortunately, that did not entirely fix the problem. I had to contact another HVAC company (see my other Reviews for info) to come clean my evaporator coils. So far, I can tell he is all about the right thing, honest, making recommendations to save me money, yet do a professional job. I will be writing the new contractor a very positive review for him and his company once he is complete. Oh, and he would have charged me $75 to unclog the same pipe NOT $300...........Pfffft!! We were having problems with our AC unit not cooling all areas of the house. We called a couple companies, finally got a referral from a friend to call these guys. They came in and didn't take long to fix the problem. Replaced the filters and installed a new thermostat free of charge. Did not even recognize the thermostat. I called this company with exact information on a pretty new digital/home-automation/zoned Lennox AC system that wasn't working. The friendly technicians who came, had never seen a digital thermostat like that and thought it was some kind of an iPad, but they sure wanted to rip it off the wall once I told them and offered to replace it with "something simpler". A week ago i got a a complaint from my new tenants who rented my property couple of months ago saying that AC was broken and they were very disappointed and that was friday i wanted some one who can fix that issue soon to avoid the hottest weekend for my tenants , after my research i contacted "Just One Call" requesting them to fix by end of that day , their technician showed up at my property with in less than 2 hours and fixed the issue. I had a previous review was more of a public service message than anything else. I felt an obligation to forewarn people about this company. I was willing to write it and walk away until Mr Arthur felt compelled to further exacerbate the situations with his pathetic excuses and practically chastise me for my review. Fast forward to January when I felt it necessary to make sure my AC was working after the 4th service call from JOC. Low and behold my AC does not work again! I called my home warranty company for another recall and told them I was not going to allow this company onto my property again. They sent out a local service company to do the clean work for these clowns. What do you know. The tech says the system is out of Freon because the service valves need to be replaced. I then told him that supposedly the service valves were replaced by JOC. He said no way. They just put some sealant and put on some new stickers. I refer you to the photo of the service call where JOC tech clearly states "service valves replaced". You guys are COMPLETELTY dishonest and don't know when to let things be. I now have to consider a criminal complaint for fraudulent business practice. What a piece of work these guys are. read more

Garik O. was the technician they sent out, and he was great -- professional, knowledgeable, and efficient -- and took the time to explain both the details of the program itself and also every little thing that he was doing while he was here. He checked the efficiency (electrical and cooling) of both of our A/C units, topped off the refrigerant, and performed some much-needed maintenance to make sure they were running smoothly. Wow, these guys are scam artists....long review but worth reading. My American Home Warranty contracted Just One Call to fix our central air conditioning (heater only) We were told that the Circuit Board was burned out (showed us proof) and that AHS would replace the $800 circuit board but only if we paid $299 to clean the unit. The unit had not been serviced in a couple of years but $299 seemed high but I knew it needed a routine maintenance. While they were ordering the part I called their office and questioned the $299 fee. The gal on the phone said if we wrote a yelp review they would take of $35.00 Something didn't seem right so I researched Just One Call on the Better Business Bureau (B- Rating) and Yelp. They either have 5 star ratings or 1 star ratings and most of the 1 star ratings are AHS clients nothing really in between. I called AHS to validate that they wouldn't replace the circuit board unless we paid $299 for a cleaning. The AHW representative said that Just One Call had not filed a report or a request to fix yet so she made a all to the company to see what needed fixing on our unit. This only validated my concerns that the $299 cleaning wasn't mandatory but optional. The gal from AHW said that if its a recommended maintenance or cleaning that we didn't have to have it done but if the maintenance or cleaning was necessary in order for the circuit board to work then they should file a request which they hadn't. The technician showed up while I was talking to the AHS representative and he told her that it was just a recommendation and that it didn't cost $299 it would cost $199.00 He said they NEVER charge $299 for a cleaning. I told him that I read reviews on YELP where you have changed $299.00 He asked me for my invoice from the 1st visit but we were never given one. He said trust me, you were not quoted $299 for a maintenance fee. Now it gets good, the tech said I have never been here before can you show me where the unit is located. My husband met with them on the 1st call so I was unaware that I wasn't taking to the same technicians. I said if you weren't here then how do you know that we weren't quoted $299 and that we were told that AHS wouldn't replace the circuit board without the $299 maintenance? He said, let me call the tech to prove it to you...he rings up the tech on speaker phone and asked him what he quoted us and the guy said I quoted them $299.....we was vindicated : ) I said the tech also told us that it was mandatory in order to replace the circuit board and the tech said that we were never told that...I said how do you know? You also said we weren't told it was going to cost us $299 for the maintenance. I told him that I did need a routine maintenance on my unit however I did not trust Just One Call to perform it since they lied to us twice. The technician was not happy and when he went on the roof to replace the circuit board he dropped his drill on the skylight. He kept placing all of the parts and tools on my skylight, I just hope he didn't damage it. They also left dirty foot prints on our carpet. (I have photo's of both) I asked how long of a warranty I had on the circuit board and he said 60 days. I asked how much the circuit board cost and he said $800 in which I replied, you only get a 60 day warranty on an $800 part? This company scams AHS and it's clients out of paying more money than necessary. Beware.... PS. They will write some response denying it all but trust me this is 100% true.... read more

The initial schedule set-up was a fast cycle from call to appointment set to scheduled arrival. The technician, Ashot, was prompt on showing up when scheduled, courteous throughout the visit and knowledgeable regarding what was being done (even patient in explaining and answering questions). His work up on the roof checking and cleaning the AC unit was quickly completed and his installation of a new thermostat was cleanly done - even walked us through the setting up of the app for remote monitoring and control. Had a service call with Just One Call for my air conditioner. The technician told me that that fan motor had burned out because there was no coolant in the system. I agreed to continue with the repair, and was told that my portion of pay would be $700 for the coolant only, because the fan motor parts and labor was covered by a home repair service. The day of service I sat waiting for the technician to arrive and was later told I wasn't on the schedule for that day or any other day. As the daily temperatures in my area continued to rise I made another service request with another company. The technician came out replaced the fan motor and turned on the AC. When I asked about the coolant he told me my coolant was at a perfect level and I didn't need any added. Just One Call, Inc was going to charge me $700 for product that I didn't need and that they obviously couldn't add to my system. That sucks, be watchful!!! read more

Have had recurring terrible experiences with this company. They are consistently late and have performed several back-to-back "repairs" and "fixes" on our A/C that cost a tremendous amount of money but it still doesn't work. When they were contacted about their last repair not working and the A/C still not working, they said they would come "12-4" and never even showed up. Their office made one excuse after another and kept saying "they may be there within the hour" but they never even showed up and didn't even call. read more

"Just One Con-artist" would be a more appropriate name. I wouldn't have called them, but if I wanted my insurance coverage to pay for the repair I had to use them. I was without heating for a couple of very cold nights before JOC came out. The tech determined that it was my expensive Ecobee4 that was at fault. He then wrote up a false claim that he expected me to sign. He demanded that I take his $15 mechanical thermostat as an "equivalent replacement" for my wireless, wi-fi, advanced features, Alexa-enabled $250 Ecobee4. I can set my temp from anywhere in the world, receive maintenance reminders, use hands-free Alexa when walking by the thermostat, etc. A mechanical thermostat does none of those things. When one of the JOC techs was demanding that I partake in his insurance scam, I was unaware that he had already removed (stole) my working Ecobee adapter from the ac unit and done an illegal, unsafe wiring by-pass on the 3rd story. When I refused to sign his paperwork and refused to accept a downgrade, he left very angry and with my expensive, necessary part. The ins co said I was entitled to an equivalent item, but they were not responsible for the tech's bad acts. I quickly figured out that he had bypassed the thermostat by hot-wiring the ac unit because heat was running and the fan was blowing without a thermostat installed. I immediately turned the breaker off. When a second ac company came out, I specifically asked if the Ecobee 5-wire adapter was still installed or even still on the roof. It was not. They had to fix JOC's wiring, install a new adapter and then install a new Ecobee4. This extra work cost more than if JOC hadn't tried to pull a fast one on me and AHS. If AHS tries to force you to use JOC, call them back and ask them to give you a new contractor from their list. If you're reading this, sort the reviews lowest to highest , read them and you'll never use JOC by choice. Otherwise, caveat emptor. read more

I had to update my review because we managed to get the warranty claim approved. I did not have an easy experience. I have been stressed and hot the last 3 weeks and it would have been easier if I was not being bounced around from fidelity to Just one call. My AC issue was misdiagnosed the original time I had to wait another week because they needed to replace the furnace system. For 4 days I was calling both fidelity and just one call to expedite the issue but got nowhere. My claim was denied through fidelity for most likely lack of communication but fidelity told me it was denied due to issue being pre existing diagnosed by the service provider. When I spoke to Just one call the manager said they did not say it was pre existing in any of their reports. Here I am stuck in the middle during work trying to appeal the denial with my inspector reports on my recently bought home showing the AC was working with no issue. I decided to cash out and not deal with either party due to unpleasant experience. One thing for sure is it is uncomfortable calling there office because the girls that answer are rude and not very helpful. I don't want anyone to go through this so I am deciding to post my experience. I hope this helps as a learning and growing experience to all of us. read more
