Review I had a very…read moredisappointing experience at Lucas Tire Shop. I brought in my 2023 Ram ProMaster 2500 because it had a clearly visible screw in the tire. When I arrived, the tire was still fully inflated, and you could hear the air slowly leaking from the screw. I parked the van, and after that, they moved it around with the tire already deflated. Instead of putting air in the tire to move the van safely, they moved it while the tire was flat. After doing that, they told me the tire had internal damage and that I needed a new tire. What is frustrating is that when I brought the van in, the tire was still inflated and the issue was simply a visible screw. They did not properly inspect or attempt to repair the puncture before moving the vehicle with the tire flat. From my perspective, the tire could have been damaged further by moving the van while it was deflated. I was then told I needed to purchase a new tire. I was very disappointed with how the situation was handled. I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before replacing a tire based on their diagnosis.

I had 2 Yaris's, both requiring special size tires, which has to be ordered. At Costco we were told it would be a week before they would have them, Clark Tire had the next day. When I knew we were due for new tires, I would just call them, and they would be there the following day, no down pay, no hassle. When we bought our current car (used) we knew it needed all the tires replaced. The dealership only had one brand that was $750 per tire. I got 4 brand new tires from Clark for a grand total of $550. And they had them in stock. 45 minutes later I was back on the road. I highly recommend them to all my friends and family, and no one has had any complaint. They praise the quality, service and value they provide.

This led me to bringing my vehicle in when it started to make a grinding/popping noise while steering. The interesting thing was that the noise only happened after a couple minutes of driving or on a very hot and humid day. They recommended I replace the struts and I listened as I have no knowledge of cars. Sure enough the sound was not gone after an $800 repair. I took the car back to them the next day in hopes for a proper diagnoses as i'm sure I needed the struts replaced but that wasn't why I came in the first place. They made me drive around for 30 minutes to try and get the noise to happening again and thankfully it started very subtly as I needed to get back to work. The manager had both his technicians come out to look at the car and the first guy looked completely lost as to what it could be (mind you this was the guy who replaced the struts to begin with), the second guy figured the first guy installed the struts wrong. So they end up telling me they'll redo the strut installation and give the car a wheel alignment (the alignment should've been done with the initial replacement). I wait till end of day and they tell me to come pick it up, manager says they reinstalled the struts and couldn't fit the alignment in today, so I wait until the following Tuesday as that was the only time I could drop it off for an alignment. Later that day I pick it up and the manager says they did the alignment for free due to the inconvenience but it doesn't feel aligned. Low and behold, the noise is still there, after bringing it back in the manager keeps it all day and tells me "we think we found the issue and it's going to be an expensive repair" I had to specifically ask what is the repair. He says I need a rack and pinion replacement, I call BS. So I take it to another shop trusted by family and they also call BS and diagnosed the issue within 20 minutes. My control arms were worn out and needed replacing, sure enough after that repair the issue was gone. TLDR : Basically only take your vehicle here for basic maintenance, I would've paid over $1500 to not have my issue resolved.

For years, Zuheir, the owner took wonderful care of our vehicles, making sure to address issues under warranty and point out potential problems to budget for in the future. Now Tom treats us with the same consideration and respect. Pricing remains very fair, and they get things done as quickly as possible. We always bring in the car before a long road trip and feel confident when they tell us we're good to go. I wouldn't want to own a car in this city without them.

They take the time to explain the work to you, get your buy in at every step, and charge WAY less than you would pay elsewhere. I especially appreciate the way they make the time to answer all of my questions and never judge me for my ignorance when it comes to cars! The work is always finished faster than expected, and they are more communicative than any men I've ever met. They've also done a number of small quick fixes for free when I've stopped by in a pinch - getting a frozen gas cap unstuck, checking my tire pressure, etc. Seriously - I love this place so much that when a warning light comes on in my car, I think, "Well, at least I get to go see Paul!"

I then spent money on a crankshaft issue. That didn't fix it either. My vehicle has since STOPPED DEAD ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD FIVE TIMES. I am disputing all applicable Pep Boys charges. It is my position that products sold to me were outside the manufacturer's date and/or ineffective for their represented purpose. I am preserving documentation of these transactions. And somehow, Pierre, their Area Manager, made this nightmare even worse. By the time my issue reached Pierre, I had spent money repeatedly and been left stranded. Instead of resolving it, PIERRE HUNG UP ON ME THREE SEPARATE TIMES. Pierre has been extraordinarily arrogant, dismissive and condescending. I cannot understand how someone who treats customers this way is an Area Manager. An Area Manager should resolve problems. Pierre became another one. I want Pep Boys corporate leadership to review Pierre's handling of this complaint and, if these calls were recorded, LISTEN TO THEM. Explain why an Area Manager hanging up three times on a paying customer who has repeatedly been stranded is acceptable. After three weeks, I'm left with two ineffective batteries, a crankshaft-related expense that solved nothing, FIVE roadside breakdowns, disputed charges, and an Area Manager who hung up on me THREE TIMES. This morning my car had about 1 inch of water pouring onto my floorboards from the dash. I pulled into JiffyLube to ask if they'd seen this before, and they offered to check under the hood for me and take off the plastic to check the AC duct. They did this even though it wasn't a routine maintenance service, and just to be HELPFUL. The manager on the floor was SO KIND. He emptied about a gallon of water for me and after clearing the clog was worried about my car drying appropriately to avoid mold and smell. He was so gracious about just wanting to help. ALSO---- While he was fixing my issue (in under 3 minutes BTW), another mechanic who was working the floor was so friendly with my new puppy and offered him treats. The vibe in the building was so light and positive, and I felt they genuinely wanted to help me. I was IN and OUT so fast, was shocked to have paid $0 and will be a forever loyal customer for all future oil changes! This place will always get my money.
