Very friendly visit this morning for breakfast. Had a tasty strawberry waffle, drizzled in a cream cheese sugar. Yummy waffle, moist and flavourful. My partner had the alligator waffle and reported it was enjoyable. Serve-yourself bottomless coffee topped off the meal.

Mmmmm, waffles! Just Waffles makes THE BEST waffles in the 'hood! Their waffles were handmade fresh and perfectly made. The toppings were warm so when they melt in the waffle, the waffle becomes fluffy and chewy with the topping flavours. We tried Nutella, Strawberries and Smores. All of which tasted sweet and amazing. Nutella plus banana is always a good combo. But along with warm fresh waffles? Oh yeah, a winner! The Smores were so good with marshmallows! Considering that I haven't had marshmallows in years. The strawberries were wonderful, as well! We got them take-out so we were able to add a little bit of maple syrup at home just because we really wanted something sweet but it isn't really needed. :) Just Waffles were open to dine-in during this time. They make the waffles quick and we were in and out within a minute. Great staff, great waffles! I will come back again!

I adore little gems in the city and you can tell Just Waffles is put together with love. We only had a chance to try the Nutella Waffle with Reese and it was devoured. Sweet and rich, but not too heavy, it was the perfect snack for us. I was full from breakfast so I only took a few bites, but my husband and daughter attacked it after I quickly snapped a picture. There isn't much room to sit so I saw a few take out orders. Parking is all street metered spots out front. The coffee was surprisingly decent since I thought it was just sitting in those containers to keep warm only.

We went here noon on a Sunday and they were bumping, but the food was delicious and fast to come to you. We got the chicken tomato Bennie. The spicy chicken pizza and ham maple and eggs. The staff are super friendly. This place is one of a kind and the different kinds of waffle batter are great. We will be back and thank you.

My mom wanted waffles so I found this place by quick search. It's a small place but pretty busy! I had a savoury waffle and my mom had a sweet waffle. It was VERY good! I want to go back next time to try their pizza waffle.

I've been to this start-up Waffle Joint a total of 2 times so I will review based on both experiences. I am a big Waffle person so this was a must try. The actual waffle itself was done alright but I prefer mine a tad crispier and the pearl sugar is supposed to shock my tongue. That said, they do a well enough job and there are no other waffle joints in close proximity that delivers anything close. For that, kudos to them. Oh, and the owners are super nice people who really take pride in their product. I wish them the best of luck with this business. The Savoury - I"ve tried the Sweet BBQ Pulled Pork with Swiss Cheese. This one was a surprise winner. The BBQ sauce delivers just the right amount of sweet with a slight tang. Perfect for ribs & now, I must say with waffles. If they ever get their liquor license, would go well with beer. :) Eggs Benny Waffle - For the price point, this one justifies the best bang for your buck. As you are eating this waffle, the bits of sugar from the waffle come through very nicely and a perfect compliment to the Hollandaise Sauce which they do not scrimp on. Fresh Fruit Liege with Whipped Cream - Standard fresh fruit (strawberries, bananas & blueberries). Small shop so I understand not venturing too far out of the box but would have been nice to see some exotic fruits in the mix. Perhaps, it will have be a special customized one. Next time, I'll definitely ask for less of the Whipped. The ice cream you can get with your waffles is a great Vanilla where I can taste the vanilla bean. Definitely not the cheap stuff. If you enjoy your waffles, this is definitely a place to try out. Not an absolute gem for me but for concept, and area, this one is a must try. Cons: small space, makes coming in with big groups problematic, and price is a bit more $$ than advertised but: Pros: Food is good enough to return for, servers are passionate about their product which makes you feel like your opinion matters and they've introduced a concept called Savoury Waffles to Vancouver. I"m excited to see how they fare when some of the edges are ironed out.

When planning out our Vancouver trip, the first breakfast spot I decided on was Just Waffles. As a fan of Belgian liege waffles, I knew I had to try out this highly rated establishment. At first look, it's a small, unassuming restaurant. The parking situation appears to be metered street parking, but the Chinese restaurant, which is closed next door has a parking lot. Don't count on the parking lot to stay available in the future. This is a true mom and pop shop with the only two people serving are the owners. You can tell a lot of love goes into the food by the authentic Canadian owners. They appear to be genuinely grateful for everyone who walks into their restaurant. Now onto the Belgian liege waffles. Wow. WOW! Chewy, doughy texture, a subtle sweetness, generous portions, what's not to love???? I got the strawberries and whipped cream on a traditional liege. If there's only one recommendation I would make for the owners, it would be to use fresh strawberries. I think they utilize frozen strawberries, which does give it a juicier texture, but that's just me. Either way, I'm not there for the fruits, I'm there for the waffles and they need to keep the formula because it works! I had only planned to go to Just Waffles once during our trip, but my boyfriend's little sister insisted we go back, and I don't need to be told twice to eat Belgian liege waffles. The owners remembered us! And we saw they put a pin in New York in their world map of visitors. We were the first family from NYC in their restaurant, what an honor! If you want a fancy breakfast, there are other places in downtown Vancouver to go. But if you want true Canadian hospitality, fantastic food, and a memorable breakfast experience, go a little beyond your bubble and try Just Waffles. You won't be disappointed!

This spot is open for takeout during covid. There's currently a plastic screen set up at the counter area so you don't have to worry. The owner was really nice and friendly when I arrived for pick up. As for the food, I was feeling something savoury and got the ham benny. Personally, I think the waffle tastes much closer to a sweet doughnut and would do better with a sweet waffle. Will definitely go back again to try them because of service and taste!

This place is amazing! They have unique sausage that I've never seen anywhere else. I had fruits waffle and extra kanguru sausage on the side. My boyfriend had croc meat and benny waffle. They're super delicious and I can't say enough how much we love it. The service was awesome. We came during the week so it wasn't too crowded. The food came after 15 min wait which i know it was made fresh and you can see ppl prep the food in the back as well. I highly recommend this place for breakfast or brunch.

I was just visiting Vancouver and I saw so many good reviews for this place, I had to try it out. It's definitely small, with seating for only about 15-20 people. I imagine when it gets busy, this would be annoying but I came on a Saturday at 10 am and there were a few open spots. Coffee and water are self-serve at the front, which I like because I'm never waiting for refills. I ordered the strawberry cinnamon bun waffle, which is a liege waffle with cinnamon baked in, topped with strawberries and cream cheese icing. It was delicious! Overall, the food is great. I took off one star because the waffles took FOREVER to come (and it wasn't that busy) and because they are a little on the pricey side for their size. I would definitely recommend giving Just Waffles a try though, because the taste makes up for it. FYI: they don't take debit, only credit or cash :)

The staff are so friendly! Chatted with the two owners for quite a while about the origins of their business, they've been operating for almost 5 years now! Completely family owned and the type of establishment you want to see doing well. The food was amazing, I've never had a waffle like this before - I got the Cajun Crocodile Benny. Great tasting waffles and really friendly couple running the place. If you love talking to locals and getting chatty with people this is the place for you. Minimal wait time as this place is relatively new but gaining popularity. They just expanded their menu to include waffle cones & ice-cream. Everytime I have a waffle craving , I head out there with an intention to try out something new and different. But their nutella waffle just pulls me in. Really fresh, caramelized sugar coating, slightly crisp on the outside , with nutella filling on the inside. read more

nice little surprise near the PNE. Waffles were great - try the crocodile sausage benny. Server/owner was really friendly and helpful. Actually gave my daughter and I a couple of complimentary tx to the PNE when she heard we were going there. Portions don't look huge but they were plenty and tasted excellent. read more

Went in this morning with my kids for a treat. Ordered the fruit and whip cream waffle and the bacon eggs benny waffle. Both were delicious and fresh tasting and we enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. Great little waffle place, owned by husband and wife. They are a very friendly couple and are attentive to their customers. Their leige waffles are average, but they are a nice selection of sweet and savory toppings. Prices arent outrageous given that there arent a lot of waffle places in the area. Worth visit if you are waiting for your bus nearby. read more

Some of the best waffles from this local restaurant. I was with some friends and ordered and eggs Benedict on liege waffles that was served with alligator sausage. Really delicious!! The waffles were sweet and crunchy, eggs were perfectly poached, and the gator sausage added a good bit of spice and gaminess to it. I would love to come back again! read more

My brother, nephew and I went to Just Waffles for bunch last Saturday. I am not a huge waffle person but was pleasantly surprised! The service was awesome and the food was delicious. I ordered the waffle with bacon and two eggs. The eggs were undercooked as I forgot to say that I'm a well done egg person. I asked for them to be put back on and they did with no hesitation. They came out perfect! All three meals were great and the coffee was awesome too! Will return again! read more

Ok, I'm giving this place 4 stars cuz the owners are great and the waffles are good. But it's a little on the pricey side. For brekkie, I ordered the eggs benny and it's literally a waffle w/ egg and hollandaise sauce. It's a little too plain with no side goodies like at least put a slice of tomato or something. read more

I must admit when I learned of this place that sells only waffles that aren't served with syrup, I didn't give it much credibility...but after passing by it so many times on the way to work I decided to check it out. The owners were super nice and are really passionate about their business. They explained how these aren't your typical waffles... they are made the way they are in Belgium. I ordered a pizza waffle - herb waffle with marinara sauce, cheese, ham and pineapple. It took a few minutes but it was great! They have other savory waffles too. They gave me a free mini waffle (a sweet one) and it was tasty too. Soft, fluffy, and just the right amount of sweet.. no syrup needed! It's a nice place to stop by, especially if you are waiting at Kootenay loop. read more

Doesn't look like anything much, but is actually super tasty. They even have crocodile sausages, yum! A different style of batter so it's really filling. There are heaps of bridal shops around so if you're needing a pic-me-up this is the place. The staff are really friendly. read more

Cute little snack spot great for a quick stop or dine in. There are many different waffle flavors and they even can do salty snack like pizza waffle. The owners really Kathy and Calvin Klein really care about their business. My husband and I went on a quiet weekday morning. It's a hidden gem with a small town friendly feel and delicious food. The waffles looked small when they arrived at the table but were surprisingly filling and I left with a full, satisfied belly. We shared the Bacon Benny and Mixed Fruit and Whipped Cream waffles. The waffles and the hollandaise sauce were the best I've had in the city. You won't be disappointed! read more

Just Waffles is a great little spot and the name entails exactly what it is... Just Waffles. The waffles are delicious and close to everything is priced under $10. I had their Sweet BBQ Pulled Pork Pizza Waffle. It was very tasty and the proportion of pork to waffle was just right... a great complement. Drinks are only $2, a plus. The only thing holding it back is its lack of a great atmosphere and missing wall decor. Overall, stop by this place...you can get it "to go" as well! read more

Umm this place is delicious. I had the maple bacon and egg waffle, hubby had the double eggs Benny, and we shared a Nutella special. We both wolfed it down. The maple goes so well with the bacon, just the right amount of sweet and savoury. If you prefer runny/soft/medium eggs make sure you specify. If you are an eggs Benny snob please note the hollandaise sauce is average. The Nutella special had strawberries, banana, cinnamon, whip cream, and I think a bit of syrup. So effing good. read more

First and foremost, everything tastes delicious both sweet and savory. The pulled pork for example is the chefs own recipe. It's run by an amazing couple who arrow sweet, friendly and extremely knowledgeable about waffles. Its in a convenient location for a transit taking person like me, right next to Kootenay Loop. It's open until midnight, which is a huge bonus in Vancouver proper let alone on this barren stretch of Hastings. Cons? I'll be very picky say that portions could be better and they could take debit. But they do take credit and cash so that's truly being pedantic. read more

Server was friendly, but the food wasn't what I expected. Waffles should be crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I ordered the maple bacon waffle. The bacon was half cooked, and not crispy at all. The waffle itself was soggy with way too much syrup and chewy. I felt like I was eating straight sugar and grease, and now I have a stomach ache. read more

What a great find! I always feel particularly satisfied when Yelp leads me to a gem that I wouldn't have otherwise found in a million years, and that's what happened today. The owner (I presume) was extremely nice. She asked if we had been there before, and when we said no, she explained what makes their waffles special and gave us a brief overview of the menu. When we moved from our original seats by the door, she checked to make sure we weren't too cold and offered to close the door for us. I got the fresh fruit waffle (bananas, strawberries, blueberries, and whipped cream) and added a chocolate drizzle because #yolo. My husband got the bacon eggs Benedict waffle. Highly recommend both (although after seeing pictures of the pizza waffles I almost regretted not ordering one). Great place!!! read more

If you get tired of your room you can also enjoy sitting outside on a deck or the living room. We really enjoyed relaxing on the couch back in our room in front of the fire place. Morning came a bit too soon. Was hard to get up out of the super comfortable down blankets on the King bed. The breakfast was ready though and included three delicious courses. Polenta with almonds, banana kirsch, and smoked salmon with poached egg on toasted croissant. Yum. Virginia's breakfast was all the better by Brian's entertaining stories of 5 years in the service business now.

While I find this somewhat annoying, I dont blame them for doing this from a business standpoint. They always have a lineup so there is no shortage of customers for them. There is no reason they need to deal with the headache of a ton of reservations. On the flip side, they honoured my reservation in a very timely fashion and I bypassed the line, so props to them for doing that part right. If you have to park, then you may find street metered parking or use one of the nearby paid lots.

These beds and pillows were some of the best hotel beds/pillows I've ever slept on. We all slept so well! We also ordered room service for breakfast and everything was so good, with reasonable room service prices for the amount you get. Didn't use the gym, but it's recently renovated and beautiful. They provide iced water infused with electrolytes and there are even Pilates machines! There's also a heated rooftop outdoor pool that we didn't have time to take advantage of too. Not only is this hotel amazing, but it's in a prime location to everything - especially if you're a first time visitor to Vancouver. It's super easy to hop on the shuttle to the suspension bridge, or take a sea boat or hop on the subway to/from the airport. It's also walking distance to Gastown, Robson Street, Stanley Park and the Seawall. Highly recommend this hotel if you're in the city!

(LOVE this!). Plus, this site is close to Waterfront Station, and my friend had a busy day planned, taking the Seabus to N.Van and doing a lot of sightseeing. So this Breka was perfect. I was there early at 10 am-ish, and from the outset, I was impressed: exposed brick wall, long counter and display case, fully stocked with the most beautiful pastries and tarts and cakes, and lovely looking sandwiches, too....Just lovely. I ordered a tea from the guy taking the orders. At the check-out, the woman working the cashier was the most unfriendly, aloof person I have ever encountered at a Breka. She was downright dour. Never looked up, never smiled, said I owed X for the tea I ordered, gave me a receipt and said I was "number 3", no "thank you" (despite my saying thanks!), nothing. She looked really unhappy and bothered to be there. (I sat at a nearby table, waiting for my number to be called. I saw her interactions with all the people behind me - and there were quite a few, as it got suddenly busy in the cafe. She was cold and unfriendly to everyone in line as she rang them all up. These are mostly tourists! Why have a dour, borderline-hostile woman at the check-out counter of a busy cafe in a touristy part of our city? I just don't get it). Anyhow, I waited 10 minutes to hear my number called, but I never heard it. I walked up to the take-out area and there was my tea, on a receipt that said "number 3". Did they call out my number? I honestly don't know. I was seated at a table a few feet from the area and listening for my number and I didn't hear it called. I was not impressed with this set-up. Not at all. My friend arrived and got a chocolate concoction which looked amazing, and he loved it, so there's that. I still love Brekas but I probably won't return to this site. Between the cold experience at the cash and the prolonged waiting for my order (a cup of tea!), and not being sure if my order number was ever called, it just all left me with a bitter taste in my mouth.

It did not disappoint. I think I have recently discovered that I love poached eggs and these were perfect. The yolk was nice and runny and the white was firm but not hard. I like to cut in to my egg and have it run down and get messy on the plate. The hollandaise was excellent. So many breakfast places will serve it broken, but not here. It had the perfect amount of lemon, butter ratio for my taste and I really enjoyed it. The bacon was good, not to salty, and the english muffin was, well, an English muffin from a package that they toasted and out on the plate. I did splurge and paid the extra dollar for the truffle potatoes and they were very good. I love truffle oil on potatoes so I am a sucker for it whenever its on a menu. You just cant mess it up. I think there is a rule, or at least there should be one, in restaurants that if you wouldn't eat it then don't serve it. There might be another one that says if you eat rotten food maybe get a different job and see rule one. Overall, we liked the place and would go back. We would just avoid the salads and fresh fruit and stick to the food they cook.

There was only one family ahead of me when I entered, who was asking questions about bean recommendations. The person at the order counter was really helpful providing them with good information. When it was my turn to order, it was quick since I had already selected beans that I wanted to purchase, and my oat latte. Option was asked if I wanted to dine in or takeout, and I went with the latter. After I got my drink, I took a seat on one of the benches they have outside the store. There's also a decent amount of indoor seating and an outdoor patio section in front of the store. Not my first time trying Nemesis since I've been to Vancouver before, but definitely a reminder of why they are listed as one of the World's 100 Best Coffee Shops. If I wasn't so full from brunch, I would have also gotten one of their pastries. Seeing them all was very tempting.

I thought it looked and felt like I was inside an apple. Not sure what it was though!! It's quite over the top for a coffee spot or restaurant, but considering it's right next to Emily Carr University, it makes more sense that the building is art too. Would come back again.

Great service and the waffles were yummy. We had a group of 9 and luckily we got a seat right away as it's a small location but the service was great and we got our food in a timely manner. This is a great chance to experience a small, privately owned place that probably not a lot of people know about. You should go before more people do know about it.
