Finally tries this place out and will definitely be returning. Our server was absolutely lovely and I adored the ambience and the music. Startimg off, the cocktails were great. As foe food, the combo that came with empanadas, croquettes, and yucca fries was our favorite handsdown. Hubby and I were fighting over the dipping sauces. Next favorite was the tostones rellenos with beef, so good. Our least favorite of the order, though still tasty, was the matajibaros con masitas. This dish had a great flavor but the plantains and the pork chunks had spent a little too much time in the fryer and were really dry. I'm so happy to have found a great Cuban restaurant and am looking forward to going back and trying more of their menu. We also want to check out the Latin dance nights. read more

We were looking forward to a traditional Cuban meal, but were very underwhelmed. We found the food to be bland. I had the Piccadillo and enjoyed it. My husband had the Chicken Fajita dish and it did not have the citrusy notes that the menu indicated. The Tostones had no flavor at all. We found this hidden gem after heading out of Busch Gardens. The restaurant is cozy and beautifully decorated. The food is absolutely delicious (so much so We dug in straight away and didn't get a chance to take pictures). We ordered the sampler appetizer. The croquetas and the yuca fries were delicious, and the empanadas were so airy and crispy! The best I've ever had. We ordered churrasco, ropa vieja, vaca frita, tostones and their fried rice and everything was scrumptious! When it comes to the kids my son was asking for more of the well seasoned grilled chicken. All in all great food that reminded us of home (Puerto Rico). I also love that it seems to be a family-run restaurant, where you can see family members helping out behind the scenes. The owner told us they've only been there 5 months. I think more people need to know about this place! It's so hard to find good Latin food in VA. We live in Chesterfield and my husband wanted to come back to Kabolas to celebrate his birthday which is 1/15 but we celebrated him on 1/13 with an early Birthday dinner. We made reservations and arrived 15 minutes early and they were ready to seat us a family of 5. Appetizers we had Croquetas ham & Papa Rellena husband had Arroz Frito K'Bola which he said was delicious. I tasted the rice and it was pretty good. I had the Camstones Al Amillo with large very well seasoned shrimp and my sides I chose black beans and plantains. That meal didn't come with rice but Sanchez (he is excellent) said he would take care of me. Oldest daughter had Empanadas and plantains, middle daughter had a Cuban sandwich and fries, the youngest daughter had the pizza and topped it with Shrimp. Everything was delicious and we have left overs for dinner on Sunday . They knew it was my husbands birthday so Sanchez brought him out a Flan dessert with a candle and he played In The Club by 5O Cent It's your birthday....we all were so thrilled as we did not expect the music. Sanchez is so personable and makes sure that everything is going well with the food making sure you have what you need. True Cuban restaurant love the atmosphere and the upbeat Spanish music. Husband oldest daughter and I are New Yorkers so we appreciate the culture. My husband had a wonderful night and we are so glad that we were able to celebrate him...Kabola made this night a memorable one and we truly thank Sanchez and the business. My family and I had a great experience at K'Bola on a Wednesday evening. We were greeted immediately when we walked in the door not only by the wonderful bartender but also by also by the hilarious patrons sitting at the bar. I ordered us mojitos which were very tasty, and we picked the table of our choice. Our incredible server, who is also the bartender, was very attentive to our needs. He took our order and gave us a buzzer to alert him if we needed anything. We were not in any rush, so we did not have to use it. The food came out hot was very good. I ordered the fajitas, grilled vegetables and yuca. My husband and sister got the Angus beef which sides of black beans and plantains. All delicious! Please patronize this lovely restaurant and support this local business. The bartender-server-extraordinaire is worth the trip alone. We've had K'bola twice now. Once was a Door Dash order and we had the most delicious Cuban sandwiches ever!! Then tonight we went and sat outside. Wait staff was awesome! I started with a Margarona and empanadas. Both were terrific! Then I had the Lechon Asada with Tostones. Absolutely splendid!! We also had the Cuban pizza. Very soft crust, hot and cheesy. There's not the red sauce influence of regular pizza, which lets the cheese really take center stage. Had a terrific time and I hope to be back soon!! read more

Ate here on a recent trip to Williamsburg and we're not disappointed. We arrived around 7:30 and were promptly seated. We ordered empanadas and tostones as appetizers and most of us had either ropavieja or Piccadillo as entrees. Portions were large with plenty of left overs. Food was fantastic. Just got takeout. We ordered a Cuban sandwich, empanadas and croquettes. Very good and would go back. Cuban sandwich is Miami-style and my only complaint is that the sandwich was toasted between foil, not directly on the grill, so the press was not truly toasted but the bread was still crispy and fresh, so that was a plus. Empanadas and croquettes were solid apps, but my favorite thing was actually the sauces that came with them. We enjoyed everything. read more

Years ago I lived in southern Florida, and got hooked on Cuban food. So, I was SO excited to find a Cuban restaurant here in Williamsburg! My wife and I had dinner there a couple of nights ago. We had chicken empanadas (hot, crispy and delicious), plántanos maduros (perfectly caramelized), ham croquettas and the delightfully authentic congris.
