I'm just thankful I was able to remove him from this place before anything else could happen... I dropped off my dog this holiday season to travel over 2,000 miles believing my pet would be safer while there than traveling. On the very first day apart, my partner and I logged onto their webcam to check in on him and were horrified to see an employee abusing him, along with another dog!!! This employee was throwing objects around within their main "large dog" room and was randomly spraying a black lab's face for no apparent reason. My dog was clearly frightened and was sitting by the room's entrance signaling that they wanted out. This employee aggressively leashed my dog by the throat and threw him out of the room, only to be violently yanked back into the main room moments later. I had to call K9 Loft to alert them of the rogue employee's behavior. After reviewing the footage, we were told by the manager "Val" that they "were horrified and sent home the employee", but they were back within the facility handling him and other dogs before we could even get back there to pick him up. Let me stress, "Val" is beyond rude. She explicitly told us, "sorry our standards aren't up to yours...". So in my opinion, if your standards are that your beloved pet will be in a safe environment, with safe employees that stand behind their customers needs and concerns, then NO this place may not live up to your standards! Thanks again for traumatizing us on the first day of our holiday vacation and then having zero compassion about it when we came to pick him up. We'll be sure to get a sitter or take him with us cross country next time. read more

I brought my dog here for grooming and I could not be more unhappy with the results. I said I wanted a light trim on her coat so that her hair would not get tangled and maintained it's beautiful shape. Please note that my dog's hair was not tangled at all!!! I get my dog bathed everyday two weeks and groomed about every 2 months. I especially told the groomer that I did not want my dog looking like a "rat" and showed photos of how I wanted her to look like. Also, they kept my dog for 5 hrs in their facility in a cage and by the time she got home, my dog ran to the water bowl and drank water non stop for a good 30 seconds because she was so thirsty. I will not be taking my dog ever back here. See the photos before and after she got groomed. After this review was posted, I received a call from Yan, the store manager who apologized and refunded the money paid for the grooming and also gave me a credit in case I would like to try them again. I booked my mother's labradoodle for a full groom with the dental cleaning added. I thought it would be a nice gift for her and it went horribly wrong. They made very clear about a fee if you're 15 minutes late, so I arrived at 8:45am and they didn't open until 9am (the time of my appt). So, I patiently waited for them to open at 9am. Once I was there, I was informed that the groomer would be there any second and to hold on. After waiting for 15mins, I checked in and the groomer still hadn't arrived. I was given the option to wait or drop the doggy off and get a call once the groomer arrived. I received a call until almost 9:30am from the groomer where I discussed the hair cut and services I wanted (dental cleaning and hair plucking in her ears) and so the groomer suggested a summer cut. I received two more calls after that stating that the cut I wanted and the one that was suggested were not possible and they would have to shave her completely. I hesitantly agreed. When I went to pick her up, I was in shock and really couldn't take it all in. Once I was home and checked her out, I was able to see that she was cut uneven and had longer patches of hair sporadically and her ears had not been touched at all. I felt invisible and ignored and I can only imagine what my mother's dog felt being there. I refused to complain in fear that they would mistreat my mom's dog and I just wasn't comfortable with this experience. Needless to say, my mother was very upset at how I brought back her dog and will probably think twice before having me do a good deed again. read more

First of all, like another review, I took my dog in for a bath and coat grooming and they SHAVED IT ALL OFF! I asked for a puppy wash on 5 month old pup (short hair) - simple shampoo and rinse. $55.00!! No extras. Petco is $34.00 and you get all sorts of extras. This place is overpriced and there are plenty of other places where you can get a better deal and service. Go somewhere else. read more

K9 Loft is a disaster. The staff is negligent and untruthful. They quoted us a price over the phone to board my dogs, Garth and Gomez and then charged us over $400 dollars more. They cannot provide proof that they even walked the dogs once. I asked them for some sort of schedule / time / security footage of the pup leaving the building and they could not provide it. My dog was not fed the food we provided, and instead I saw the same very cans on their shelf for sale. We let them know the dogs had a very specific diet, and they did not follow it at all. Instead they kept calling us to tell us our dog ran out of food and we would need to feed them the kibble they had in house. They also kept our older dog in a broom closet. I would not recommend this to anyone. PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY AND FIND ANOTHER OPTION. We are contesting the extraneous charges as fraudlent. read more

My dog was boarded at K9 Loft for 13 days in October 2022. He had not been in day care, boarded, or a dog park prior to this experience. He does interact with other dogs regularly. It was a difficult adjustment for him. When I picked him up he had been bathed but his nails were not trimmed. I had to bring him back a few days later for his nail trimming. When he came home he had fleas and kennel cough. I contacted K9 Loft and let them know. I was told they would contact the other dogs he was in contact with. read more

We didn't know were else to go, but we were recommended this place and Priscilla is a miracle worker. She is friendly and patient enough to work with our husky dog. I want to start by saying I really really like K9 loft, it's one of the only boarding places I really feel comfortable leaving my senior dog for boarding/daycare. I have had nothing but pleasant experiences and interactions with all staff and it's so great to see how excited they get to see my dog when he comes in. That being said, this is the second and last hair cut we will be getting from k9 loft. I am a former dog groomer/animal care professional that has changed professions, it is really important to feel like the hair cuts that we receive are on par and or better than what I'm capable of, I don't have the time anymore to give him full grooms and so we occasionally have to take him to grooming shops. The first hair cut we got at k9 loft with Patrica was not good and not what we had asked for. It was right before thanksgiving so I chalked it up to over booking and lack of time/rushing. I was understanding as I know how swamped the holidays can be for all shops but I did ask for her to not cut his hair again, which she hadn't until today. Eventually I asked for the note to be removed when he ended up needing a partial groom which came out perfectly reasonable so I was happy to ask for the note to be taken off of our account. Flash forward to today which was another full groom, we had the same exact experience as our first full groom here. Me and Patrica went over what I was wanting for his cut which was, tight body and teddy bear face, I pulled up a picture of a past cut and to give her a photo reference . What we was got tight body and tight face, uneven ears, unfinished paws/pads, a huge chunk of hair missing on one of his ears, a mat of hair still left on, and to top it off the blow dry was not completed so his hair was still wavy when they did the cut which I'm very sure contributed to the unevenness of his overall head cut. This is super disappointing considering the price of the cut, 83 dollars should warrant an even hair cut and good blow dry. This is a bit not picky but they didn't blow dry him after his cut so I was covered in his hair when we got into the car. Overal I am super disappointed with this experience and with this groom, I know the ins and outs of grooming and for this price the end result is completely unacceptable. Like I said daycare and boarding and general staffing is really really good and solid but I can not recommend grooming. read more

I just had a distinctly unpleasant interaction with a staff member of K9 loft. I was bringing in my dog for grooming for a 9 AM appointment. Due to heavy traffic I was late, and walked in the door at 9:20 - so that part it totally on me. The part that was not was the reaction of the groomer. She was waiting at the desk when I walked in, and when I gave my name she immediately started making faces like she bit into something sour. "I don't know...your appointment was at 9.... it will take much longer now." I then asked how long would it take and received another grimace."Well ... usually it takes 3-4 hours for grooming ... now it's going to be longer." The receptionist at the desk rushed in to reassure me that the grooming will be done in four hours, but the groomer just looked away and wouldn't make eye contact. To summarize: I was late, and that was definitely my fault. If they told me that they couldn't take me, I would be peeved but I would understand. But this emotional pantomime? I don't need that. There are several other dog grooming salons of equal quality where I can take my dog, so I'd say I'm done with K9 loft. read more

We had to drop off our fearful rescue pup at K9 loft for a week while we had family in town and a lot of construction going on in our home. We were so nervous to leave him, but we knew K9 loft would be a safer environment and also provide opportunities for our dog to socialize with other dogs and people. The staff at K9 Loft is AMAZING. They treated Auggie like their own, giving him pets through the day which he absolutely loved. They transitioned him from the large dog room to the small dog room when he was noticeably uncomfortable with another dog and we are so grateful Auggie was always safe and happy with the staff. We loved watching the webcam to check in everyday and witnessed some very sweet moments. Absolutely recommend K9 Loft for boarding and daycare. read more

My dog stayed with them for four days this past week and was returned to me smelling of urine and completely filthy. Every time I come in, those dogs behind the glass window, that are running around the doggy care room make me smile. 24-hour boarding runs $60 here I think and it's probably the only downside, also the reason why I took one star off. I think most places in the neighborhood still run for $50. This is my local pet supplies store though so I come in here to buy food for my pup all the time. I have not had a bad experience yet, everyone's super-friendly. The food is always fresh or at least I haven't had a problem with expired products as I have in some other, places so far. My fur babies love them all so much especially their groomers Brandon and Vicky. I highly recommend them both they are always so carful with my babies when grooming them. Priscilla is my go to girl! She never misses a beat to making my little guy look his dapper best. She has been the first groomer we've had whom my little guys attitude doesn't change entirely when he gets home. He has congestive heart failure, so I'm very careful to find a location who will accommodate my little guys needs for the least amount of stress while being groomed, and they do it here:) he comes back calm and feeling great! They require a rabies shot which I honestly appreciate because it shows they take safety of our babies serious. I have been a loyal customer here for a 3 years. I used to feel safe bringing my dog here. Not Anymore. They starting using a very strong chemical cleaner on the floors: where the animals are breathing this in all day in a closed in room, stepping in it, soaking up the chemicals. I cant imagine the damage its does to their little lungs etc. (Upon finding this out, I was done) not to mention, The one and only time I let them bathe her there, her ears were red and hurting so bad I couldn't touch them or she would squeal (no previous problems). Lastly, The staff used to be so nice and warm and welcoming--Now they are very stuck up and majorly lack any sense of humility and customer service skills! I went in for a bath + brush, upon arrival they asked if I wanted my dog's teeth brushed, nails trimmed, anal expression etc. to which I said yes to (and paid extra for!) he got his bath and brush, but I don't believe the other items I paid extra for were done. We have been customers of K-9 Loft in Sherman Oaks for 10 years, certainly not because of the mediocre service but because of the convenient location. We have spent many thousands of dollars there over the years for dog boarding, daycare and grooming. The last dollar we will ever spend there was today. A few minutes before a dog grooming we had booked a full week in advance they called to cancel...as we were walking in the door at K9 Loft to drop off our dog. In order to get our kids who were with us to sports games on time we were forced to leave our dog there for a few hours of daycare. Even if we hadn't been decade long and loyal (if never really satisfied) customers, we expected they would watch the dog for a few hours for free or a hefty discount given their screw-up. But rather than doing the right thing for any customer, let alone a decade-long one, they insisted we pay the full rate for the daycare service we didn't even need or want had they not screwed up and canceled grooming with zero notice to begin with. This place is disgusting. I should have turned around as soon as I smelled it when I walked in but I figured whatever it's wet dogs. Left my little buddy with them for a bath, brush and teeth brush, no complicated grooming. 3.5 hours later they call for me to pick him up. When I picked him up a flea jumped on my hand when I was paying. Not long after I noticed that his fur felt a bit dirty still and smelly. Usually he's all soft and fluffy but he was a bit shaggy so I brushed him and quickly realized that they never even brushed him! He was actually had mats in his fur that weren't there when I dropped him off! They gave him a terrible wash and didn't brush him for $63. Never will I ever return to this place. ** REVIEW FOR GROOMING SERVICE** So I called on a Saturday morning to schedule a grooming appointment for my dog and was able to get a 1:30 appointment for the same day. I have a medium sized short hair dog and the cost was $45. The $45 included a wash, nail trim, ear & anal gland cleaning. I went in same day to drop off my pooch and they said it would take approx. 2 hours and they would call me when they were done. 2 hours later I receieved a call - paid and was out the door. My pooch's paws had never been so clean - as if she had never stepped foot on anything (how they got them this clean beats me), her ears weren't as clean as they could have been (I ended up cleaning them when I got home) & she was spruced up with a bandana too. As far as service goes, I wouldn't give the staff an A+ in service - not that they are rude, just not inviting or warm. When I was in the store dropping my dog off and they asked for any "extras" I did mention I wanted her teeth cleaned but they failed to do that - nothing to freak out about though. The location is convenient - right off Ventura. They do have a shopping area where they have lots of goodies; food, treats, toys, leashes, etc. Also, they provide doggie daycare/boarding services. Wayyyy out of my price range however so I won't be using them for this. ($55 for 24hrs and I think around $35 for just daycare - they divide small and large dogs and it's indoors) Parking is either street or lot parking in the back right off of Moorpark. read more
