I've been following K9 tactical gear on Instagram for the longest time. Biggest fan of all their gear, the beliefs, and just their care for the canine community and their pride in their gear. I hadn't found anything better, found many similar brands and products, but honestly, nothing compares to K9 tactical. Coming from the East Bay, the trip to Rocklin isn't insane but it's not the most casual of drives. I had a free day, our K9 trainer just introduced a Herm Springer Collar for corrective behavior and said that we can only get it online. I was like oh, this must be a sign. I have been wanting to visit K9 tactical gear in person anyways. They have a larger variety online and the shipping is only $5 and quick, but sometimes it's just better to be there in person. Stopped by casually on Monday and it was easy to find. Shelby and Kona warmly welcomed us into the store. The shelves were a little empty as they had just moved in about a month ago and getting ready to a huge show! Luckily, they still showed us around and explained the different products and gave her suggestions to us. That customer service cannot be replaced on the internet and I was super grateful. In fact, their extent of customer service is beyond excellent. I couldn't bring my 6 month old Alusky with us that day, but based on pictures and size, she was able to suggest a sizable harness and they didn't have it in her size or the pattern I wanted, so Shelby and her team made one customer INSTANTLY on the spot. How above and beyond is that? I can't even attest to that and the quality was sturdy. The clasps are metal, I mean you might assume that it's expensive, but it worth it and it'll last. I love that all their harnesses have a handle at the top in case you need to grab it easily. Well worth the $70 for that alone. Also grabbed a new tactical leash (45) that came in the most amazing teal color and you could feel the difference between an amazon leash and this quality- the tension was strong and when my puppy pulls, it's less strain on the arms. The Herm Springer Collar Shelby explained the differences to us and suggested one that worked for the type of situations that we were going to be using it for. I'll tell you, I spent a decent amount of money here all for my puppy. But it warms my heart and I know that I picked a good place due to their quality and workmanship. Nothing gets compromised and they are just an overall amazing family-owned business. I've also picked up a collar and name patch from them as well online and never have been disappointed by their products. Two of our K9 trainers shop here often (mind you, one is located in Santa Clara and the other in Socal and Sacramento), so I mean the world is so big but so small at the same time. If you have a chance, stop by. If not, visit them online or instagram. You won't be disappointed, ever. read more

It hurts to say this because Iv exclusively only purchased gear and items needed for training and my clients here for the past 10 years.. over Christmas I ordered some gear and almost 10 days later no shipping has been completed.. fine no problem being a holiday however I really needed a specific collar so I ended up ordering elsewhere. When i messaged customer support and asked to cancel that item they were not happy and took it personally obviously because after asking if i was to cancel the total order if it would refund my acct or go back to the gift card they immediately canceled the total order and refunded which was obviously a act of irritation. Looking on their website, you can tell the products are high quality, but my dog is hard to fit, so I wanted to check out their store front. Let me tell you, it was definitely worth the four-hour round trip! Shelby was amazing! She spent a lot of time with me, along with others from the store, coming out and checking out the fit of the harness on my boy.. I have never seen a better fit of a harness on my dog. She talked to me about other products I was looking at as well, for my current dog and the puppy I am getting soon. I ended up purchasing collars and a leash from them as well. Their items are not cheap, but that is because it is made to the highest quality. It is definitely not Amazon quality - this is CUSTOM-MADE here in the USA. I was at the dog park and noticed some guy had what looked like a fishing pole for dogs. Like a doggy lure. I ended up talking with him and asked where he got his dog lure. He told me about K9 Tactical Gear. I checked out the website and went into the store the next day, my 5 month old boxer is due for a new collar and leash. I cannot remember the gal's name who helped me, Susan and Shelby were both working, it was the daughter who helped me, however they were both so friendly. Anyway, I mentioned the doggy lure, which I learned is called a flirt pole. Susan has given my husband and I K9TG bottle openers and stickers with our orders, which is so nice to have gear for the "hoomans" and not just the K9! As he has grown, it has become increasingly difficult to find gear that fits him and our needs as we go through training. Our trainers recommended this shop so I checked them out on Instagram, and here I am, giving most of my money to them. Their gear is great quality and stylish. Every time we have gone to the shop in Rocklin, the staff is always so great with us and our dog, and he can be a lot since he acts like a puppy still. If you are considering their gear, I highly recommend them, but also beware of the obsession that will ensue. My husband has been getting gear for his k9 over the last 2.5 years, and it's all been extremely well made and durable for all situations he and his k9 are in. They've got absolutely everything! I required a specialty item for training. I went to the shop twice during posted open hours to find it was closed. I ended ordering it through their website. They stated on the site that deliveries could be expected in two weeks and they would notify me when shipped. I had to pay a delivery charge of over $7.00 which I would not have had to pay if shop had been open. I have not yet received shipping notice or forecast. Order acknowledgment was received and payment posted. Haven't got product so I cannot comment on quality. So far a disappointing experience. Went on Amazon and purchased a substitute product which has promised one day delivery. It is not the thing I wanted but delivery will enable training to commence . read more
