This is a wonderful family owned company that has served our area for many decades. I have bought from them for years and will continue to do so. I am not a fan of new appliances and Kaady gives me an option to get quality old-fashioned ones with knobs and buttons instead of computers that break down. If I could give no stars I would. The absolute worst products and customer service! We bought a washer from them and it was broke less than 24 hrs. When I called the lady was extremely rude and started blaming us for the crappy product the sold us and stated that they wouldn't refund us even though it's clearly written on the receipt that they would. So, I'm giving them a 3 because I bought a stove 1 month ago, picked up and delivered it home myself. The oven part stopped working, called them and was told to wait 5 days. Just called again, told them I just want my money back ( they stated a tech might be able to fix), I said I would just like to bring it back and get my money back. She said I would be charged a 20 percent restock fee, I'm bringing it back! Their broken stove has already cost me unnecessarily. Just had my "brand new, just doesn't have a box" washer and dryer delivered with a huge dent in the washer. I immediately called the store and was told that "maybe" another appliance had been in front of the dent when I was in the store? I was also told that items in store may have "cosmetic" damage. I reminded him that HE told me this was a brand new appliance- it just was "out of the box". I asked him what my options were- he told me he would exchange washer when he got in another shipment. Absolutely fantastic. Their type of customer service is practically extinct these days. I bought a used fridge with a 90-day warranty and about 60 days in it stopped cooling. I expected the usual rigamarole of "well you did _____ and that violates the warranty", but no...they offered me a replacement! Not only that, but I didn't have to schlep the old one back to the store -- for $40 they'd deliver the replacement and take the old one! Such a steal. Here is a timeline of the communication that I had with them trying to get our "next day" delivery scheduled: Day 1 - Told by my landlord I'd be hearing from Kaddy's. Three hours later I got a call from a representative ("George's father" is how he identified himself) called looking to discuss some form of "paperwork" regarding the refrigerator; once I explained that I was the tenant and that I had no "paperwork" for him he realized he should have called the landlords instead. Told me he would be calling back soon to schedule the delivery time for the next day. Day 2: No one from Kaady's called the day before as I was told they would, so I called the office first thing trying to find out when our delivery would arrive. I was told our delivery was scheduled for between 2PM-2:30PM that day. An hour or so before our delivery window I received a call (from a different number) telling me that the delivery was running late (because they were also going to Vancouver) and that while they didn't know when it would be delivered, it would be delivered that day. Day 2 Continued: Four hours after our original delivery estimate I called the number back to ask if they had a NEW estimated time however, no one answered the phone, so I left a message and decided to call the main office again. I spoke to a woman that was very dismissive and told me that they were down to one person but that it was still coming. By 8:30 that night I tried one last time to reach someone and left a message describing the house (now that it was dark and harder to see from the street) - no answer or reply Day 3 (and a day late): I called the main store within the first half hour they were open, in hopes of having a delivery time, I spoke to ANOTHER representative who apologized for us not getting our delivery the original day scheduled. He explained that he needed to call someone and would let us know but to his knowledge we were the only delivery scheduled that day. Day 3 Continued: FIVE HOURS LATER I called the office again, as no one had called me back with a delivery time. The person on the phone tried to tell me that they had spoken to my grandmother the night before and was argumentative when I told him that he had not. After finding our paperwork he realized he had called an incorrect number ("oh my gosh I called some senile old woman"). Another two hours later I finally received a phone call that they driver was in route to our house. When the delivery finally did arrive; one of the men (who identified himself as the owner) apologized for the call not coming earlier but that he fell asleep after speaking to me in the morning. Now the product came clean, had been plugged in and running so the installation went very smooth and we are happy with the machine (because really any refrigerator is better than no refrigerator). However, over two and a half days I spoke to five people, had calls go unanswered, was faced with combativeness and unprofessionalism. I have worked in housing environments, contracting deliveries etc, and I can tell you I will never recommend this store to anyone. read more

I went to five other used appliance shops around Portland before landing at Kaady Appliances. The selection at other shops were very limited and prices substantially higher. My experience at Kaady Appliances was entirely different. They had a large selection of appliances in a clean space with reasonable prices. The layout made it easy to quickly determine which appliances suited our space the best. Within a short time frame, I felt very comfortable purchasing the right stainless steel refrigerator, dishwasher, and stove for my girlfriend's condo. I saw an ad for a stackable washer/dryer set online and called to buy it and set up delivery. The gentleman I spoke to had a thick accent but I had no communication issues, or so I thought. He said it would be delivered a few days later and I'd pay when they arrived. The day before delivery I called the shop just to reconfirm our appointment. The guy I spoke to this time (different guy) had no idea who I was, what washer/dryer I was talking about and that's when red flags went off. He then called me right back to say he now saw the washer/dryer with my name on it, but that it was never marked down for delivery so it would have to be delivered next week. So now I'd taken an entire day off work (which I couldn't get back) and no washer/dryer to be delivered. No good. So I took off a 2nd day of work for the next week so that I could be around to receive the washer/dryer. Again. I wake up the morning of the delivery only to see a voicemail had been left from the delivery guys saying "we're sorry, it seems there's been a mistake, we're only delivering to NE today, we can't deliver to you until tomorrow". Great, a 2nd day taken off work and still no washer/dryer. Now they want me to take off a 3rd day. I call Kaady back and speak to the same guy again and explain he's cost me about $200 in missed work days by botching two separate delivery dates and expecting me to take off another day for a 3rd delivery date. I also express frustration that if it's this hard to get these guys to come here to take my money, I don't even want to fathom how difficult it would be to get them out here should I need any warranty repairs. I told him he needed to take $200 off the washer/dryer set to make up for all the money I lost based on his botched delivery dates, but the most he offered was $50. No thanks. Sometimes running a business means doing the right thing, even if it means a loss. If you run a restaurant and you serve someone a dish with hair in it, replace the food. And if you're really good about things, comp the bill. I was fair after the first cancellation because I understand mistakes happen, but after the 2nd mistake any rational business owner would've realized they've truly inconvenienced the customer and done all they could to make things right. Kaady's offer of a paltry $50 off fell short of the high level of customer service I expect from companies I give my hard earned money too. The gentleman I spoke to was always polite so they get a star for that. He truly did seem to understand my frustration but, regardless, he (or his boss) was unwilling to make things right. Expecting someone to take three days off of work just to receive a washer/dryer set is very suspicious. Sometimes trying to save a buck can really backfire. In August of 2020 I went looking for a replacement fridge for a special size that we were having issues even finding one to order new. It only took 10-15 min of shopping on our own when the owners son introduced himself and asked how he could help. First set was improperly installed; the servicemen did not bring the correct cord for the dryer and left without testing the washer, which didn't work at all. Two months and repeated service visits later, the washer still wasn't working. After struggling to arrange replacement, having problems from day one with both machines. Been given the runaround every time I call, so suppose it's par for the course that I'm now a week into leaving messages and sending emails seeking a complete refund. We purchased a Samsung touchscreen stove for our newly renovated kitchen at Kaady and a SS dishwasher. Once we got the kitchen done we installed the stove and dishwasher they both do not work properly. the dishwasher runs for hours and the stove takes a good 45 minutes to boil anything. Since we installed both after the 30 day warranty Kaady would not come out and replace or look at them. So, we are now stuck with an amazing looking kitchen with crap appliances. We will be replacing them soon, but not with Kaady. read more

If I could zero stars I would. This place is a rip off. The people are pros at lying. Charlene is happy to screw you and so is the owner, George. They have been a huge hassle and headache. This business should be out of business and the people should be ashamed of themselves for being so crooked. I bought what is supposed to be new and just out of box. It is a piece of crap. The hot water doesn't even work and we checked the hoses and there's tons of water pressure as well as hot water, but the machine doesn't run hot at all. I have asked for money back, I have asked for service and I get told someone will call me back, but they don't. Also, I lost two days of work because they wouldn't nail down a delivery window. I could go in to grave detail here from start to finish, but instead I am saving that for Better business bureau, the attorney general and our new outlets. Save your self money and time and look elsewhere. This place is more of a hassle than it is worth. We were nervous about buying used washer and dryer but decided to take a chance. Never again. This place has the worst customer service and 0 follow through. I bought my washer a month ago and still do not have a properly working washer. I prefer they take the set back and that I go to Home Depot to buy new ones. Purchased a washer, dryer and fridge on 2/17. Delivery was prompt the following day. The fridge was new, no issues there. We didn't fully move into our new home until the end of February, so didn't know there were issues until a couple of weeks later. From the very first load we did, the spin cycle didn't run correctly. It doesn't spin the clothes out. They come out sopping wet. The dryer stopped heating up after the 2nd load. Called Kaady on 3/2 to let them know the issues we were having and was told I would receive a call from the service guy the following day. No call the following day. I called back on 3/4, person I spoke to asked me if I was sure I didn't have a voicemail. No I didn't. Gave me the number for service guy. Called service guy and got service scheduled. Service guy came 3/7, dryer issue seemed like o be caused by blockage in vent, I won't site them any fault for dryer. Service guy fiddled with washer, said to try a load and call him back if spin cycle still not working. Said they would need to send me out a new washer if the issue was not resolved. Ran cycle, still no spin. Called him back and he said someone would contact me about sending a replacement. No call. Called them on 3/13, man who answered (I suspect is the manager) said he had no idea about this. Asked what kind of washer I had and said he would call me back. No call. Called back on 3/17. Was told they are working on getting a new washer have some of my type coming in. Asked me to text him photo of my washer to make sure they have the right one. Said I would get replacement washer Saturday if they have one ready right now, or Monday or Tuesday if they don't. It is 7pm on Tuesday 3/21 and I still have not heard from them. Once again I will have to call and chase them. Not once have they apologized or shown any concern about the fact they sold me a broken washer. read more

Ended up here after checking three other places for a washing machine. I was looking for something cheap and sturdy, with free delivery and removal of the old one. Kaady's hit all the marks. They didn't have a ton of appliances, but they had a varied selection. Service was good, and while there was a slight snag in the delivery, I still got my washer the next day. Everyone I dealt with was friendly. As long as you go in not expecting some white glove service, you won't be disappointed. When my dryer finally gives out I will head back here first. read more

Quick delivery and good prices. I have been a good customer, getting my second washer dryer set from them. However, when my clothes dryer stopped drying the clothes after using it for one month, the warranty service has been less than satisfactory. I called on Thursday, and the person on the phone said the repair guy picks up the orders in the morning. I didn't get a call on Friday. So on Saturday, I called Kaady, and was told that they normally call the customer within 48 hours, but they apparently don't work on the weekend. I guess I will see if I get a call on Monday. One thing I know for sure is that I won't be buying any more appliances from Kaady. They just don't take care of their customer's needs like they should. read more

If minus star was available they would get it..as soon as the money clearsed their interest in customer service disappeared...they promised that delivery people would come around the side of house and in the patio door since our home was built in 1920 and the doors are 28 inches or smaller no way a fridge goes thru them..and was also told that they would hook up the water so that ice in door would work. Well because of medical issues I was not home when they arrived but my daughter ( in her 40s') and my grandson were...they argued with the delivery persons for 20 minutes about the door and then they refused to hook up the water ..the reason I bought a new fridge...when I came home heard about they events from my daughter I called and Charlene informed me that They are not plumbers but suggested that I go to the hardware store get the part and do it my self...last I knew I am not a plumber either...think twice horrible horrible service..calling a plumber and sending Kaady the bill.... read more

I personally saw their driver cut several people off on the freeway in Vancouver Wa. and then have the nerve to flip the person "that he cut off" the middle finger aggressively ,and more then once. Their customer service was amazing, sadly the washer dryer set that was delivered yesterday does't work. The soap reservoirs in the washer is overflowing with water at the end of a cycle, and the dryer ran for a couple minutes then made a clunking sound and won't start again. I was in a hurry to have something delivered and installed before I left town, everyone is talked to was extremely helpful, and one of the technicians went out of his way to install it next day. We went to this store based on a Google search for different washer and dryer dealers around the area. At first glance the place is fairly sketch, but when we went in we were pleasantly surprised. The person who assisted us was extremely polite and knowledgeable about the different sets of washers and dryers. We were able to pick out a set rather quickly and got checked rather quickly. He then walked through the delivery and setup process and we went on our way. Come Friday noon and I haven't received a call giving me a 2 hr window like I was promised. I called into the shop and was given the number to the driver. I called the driver and was told that they didn't have a time frame, but would call when they were on the way. I finally had to leave the house for an appt, and while I was out I got a call that they were in route. I let them know my roommate would be there to let them in. My roommate knew they were coming, but didn't have all the details of what they were supposed to do, so she told them that she didn't know what the plan was. So I then get a text from my roommate saying they just left them in the middle of the living room, and that they had left. I wasn't aware that the delivery team needed to have a babysitter there for them to do their job properly. I called the office again to figure out what happened at this point, and they told me they would take care of it. 40 minutes later I call back again because I haven't received any communication from them and I was handed over to the delivery driver who told me that what I expected, delivery and setup of new units and removal of old, but that because my ROOMMATE didn't know the exact plan he just left them there. He told me there were no notes on the matter, and that the person who I could talk to about the issue wasn't in right now, but would be before end of the day. I requested a call back, which never happened. The initial part of may experience was great, the person who assisted me was friendly and extremely helpful. Sadly after that there was no follow-through. Everything I was told would be happening, from the phone call with a delivery window to the actual delivery procedure itself, didn't happen. I am currently hooking up my units myself, and am really hoping that they work. read more

First, he clearly knows his freezers and spent a lot of time explaining the different types, going into the benefits of each. Once he persuaded me to switch to a "true deep freeze" (that is, not a frost-free), he then showed me how to defrost it. THEN, to top it all off, he said they'd pick up our old dead freezer and that I should NOT clean it before they pick it up, but just duct-tape it closed. That was it. I have purchased appliances from Kaady over the years, but it had been awhile... so 4 months ago We felt comfortable purchasing a stackable full sz washer/dryer set, a freezer, & a gas range. But When they delivered them they stacked the washer & dryer with no holding bracket! (device that prevents the dryer from falling off the washer!) They dented my front door AND the door front of my stainless steel frig! I called the manager (named DJ) about it promptly, sent him pictures, etc... He made wonderful promises about getting the damages handled and He had the guys come back and install the bracket. 6 weeks after purchase, my laundry room (on the 2nd floor) flooded! Repairman "Herman" arrives a few days later. Fixes the issue! I had contacted DJ/manager 2x by then, about the damages to my front door & frig front... Responding that he was checking with the owner about it. 2 weeks after repair, my washer is making a terrible clunking sound. I Called for service, it took 2 calls/5 days, to get an appt for service. Herman" came out, said I needed a diff part, it'll be a few days. Part was installed the next week. Fast forward 3 weeks... my laundry room is flooded again and my range wont stay on... I called Manager/DJ asking for service and to remind him that I was still waiting for a resolve on the damages on front door, etc... He said he'd "check in things and call me tomorrow"... I rec'd no response. I called again, His response "I'll have service call you"... We repeated this for weeks. He was rude, no apologies for not getting out to service or that my room was flooded or Ive been without my appliances for weeks! Horrid customer service... I have been with a broken washing machine and a range for 7 WEEKS. My last call I advised him that if we didn't get this resolved we would be forced to deal with this in small claims court. I heard from the service guy the next day! And he came out, but needed a diff part... But par for Kaady... its still not fixed. But they promised they'd be back tomorrow! We have been getting our appliances (washers, dryers, & refrigerators) at Kaady's for years (maybe 20+). We have been buying mostly at the SW store, but the last time in August 2014 was at the Halsey store. We like the variety to choose from, the prices, and have never had any difficulty with delivery or service.
