Ok, this was a real surprise. I ordered 3 sandwiches and a small order of hummus. They offered me a glass of water while I waited, and even got to chat with their landlord, a kindly senior lady who has quite the business savvy. I took the carry-out bags home and shared the lunch with my brother. When I opened the bags, I was very pleased. Included with the sandwiches were 3 tubs of garlic spread and a dozen warm pita pockets (I think they were baked on site). The sandwiches, WOW! The beef shawarma had the right amount of sauce and condiments and quite tasty. The chicken shawarma was mind-blowing; moist and tender. The real kicker though was the grape leaves shawarma. What an explosion of flavors on the palette. The other reviewers are spot on. My new favorite lunch spot. Can't wait to try some dinner. read more

I found this place with a coupon offer 2015 Summer. WOW WOW WOW! The chef/ owner is VERY kind, helpful and giving. Their puffy bread, lamb chili, dark green salads YUM. Salad dressing is total awesomeness. Please don't go here, I love it not being packed out Wait staff excellent. Fresh and very well seasoned dishes. The only thing I didn't like too well m, their beef schwarma. Best sautéed veggies. Fries are okay. They serve Pepsi products but have cans of Coke for you to order. Music at times is a bit too loud but their good food and prices bring me back. In the summer, bring a jacket. It's kind of cold. Whenever I'm craving a chicken shawarma, this is where I go. The staff is extremely friendly and they have a great lunch special. We often order take-out for the entire office to celebrate birthdays. I also love that they put out coupons on Facebook. Besides the chicken shawarma, I also love the shish tawook and their smoothies are to die for. The chicken lemon rice soup is also delicious. Ordered dinner last night and was told by the very polite young lady my dinner would be ready in 25 minutes. I showed up 25 minutes later and my dinner was ready for me. The food is good, however twice now we've been waiting and they've neglected to tell us the food was ready (sitting on the counter) Last time 1/2 hour, this time i had the presence of mind to stand up after 13 minutes and say hey is that ours? We've been eating low carb, so i asked for salad and straight beef kebabs, tasty but they did not give us nearly enough dressing for the salad and to tell the truth, one of the only reasons i get "lebanese house salad" is for the dressing. Like i said, good, but a bit more work then i think is necessary when there is a great deal of competition that will happily do my order the way i like it, and with a bit more customer service. cheers. read more

I've given this place a few tries and each time it got worse. It's a shame because I wanna love it I think the buffet is a great idea. Anyways Today was the last time I'm going there. Took forever to be greeted and the place wasn't busy at all. Finally got a table and a drink. Took my order I wasn't that hungry so I ordered the hummus app with meat I chose beef I specifically told her beef at least twice. She didn't write it down I waited almost 40 minutes for a simple dish. it came out, she dropped it off and walked away. I didn't get a chance to tell her it was wrong cause she disappeared right away. I didn't eat much of it because it was CHICKEN !! Like I said I never got a chance to tell her because I was completely ignored the whole time after over another hour she finally came and gave me the bill at this point I just wanted to leave I didn't even say anything to her. I didn't even get a refill on my water. The chicken tasted funky not just a seasoning thing but something was off . Hopefully I don't get sick tonight . Stopped by on a whim for carryout. The outside appearance lacks charm but the place was clean inside and the food was outstanding. Best hummus and bread we've had in the area! The food is DELICIOUS. HOWEVER, if you order delivery CHECK YOUR FOOD!!!!! Just now they forgot 15$ worth of food from my order so now by the time the rest of it gets here, and hopefully it does, the first half of my order is going to be cold. His response on the phone was "well I'll give you her number and she'll call you." So them bringing you the food you paid for is apparently optional. Update: the rest of my order was delivered!!! I will never order delivery from this place again. It took over an hour and forty minutes for my cold food to arrive. After calling 4 times each time being told that it would only take another 5 minutes I snapped and let the poor young man on the phone have it. I was told that Sala the manager would give me a call but by the time he called my food had arrived and I was still terribly angry. I received 6 baklava for my wait. We were there on Mother's Day after hearing how good the food was. We also got the buffet not knowing the featured dishes would not be filled in a timely manner when low. Except for the rice. The waitress was very rude to when I asked to speak to the manager or owner. She actually tried to argue with me when I told her my concerns. I told the owner we were not looking for a free meal but was very disappointed with this dining experience as a first time customer. Will not be looking to repeat it again in this lifetime. Maybe ordering off the menu is better. Some of what we did get to taste was good. Garlic sauce was not very garlicky and the rice pudding was bland. read more

It was hot out, late and we were tired and cranky. We'd already rejected another place because it had a ton of screaming kids in it. Not a dining experience that four 50+ adults wanted. Not being from the area, we had no idea what to expect at Gratiot and 14 - it didn't look good when we pulled up. My spouse said "this looks like a pretty seedy neighborhood." Still, I insisted we get out and try Kabob Castle despite appearances before the atmosphere in the car got worse. Could 4.5 stars on Yelp be that wrong? Boy, am I glad we did! Initially, I was a little concerned there was only one other table in use but it was 8:30. On the other hand, it was Saturday night. After a while, I noticed there was a pretty steady stream of takeout going out so that made me feel better. The waitress was sweet, very friendly and attentive, and made sure to repeat our exceptions (no cucumber for one, no green pepper for another). Service was quick but we were the only diners by the time the appetizer and first course was served. First up was lovely soft bread, not a pita but small pocket type rounds served with some amazing creamy garlic spread. I could roll in that stuff! My friend enjoyed the meat grape leaves and said they were very good. The salad was fresh and fantastic - I ended up purchasing a bottle of the house dressing to take home with me. The soups were all very good - we had all three types at the table. The lentil soup consistency was great, on the light side instead of being so heavy and dense. Might have been type of lentils (yellow) or prep method. Wonderful flavor. The lamb chili had a nice little kick to it. My friend loved the chicken lemon rice soup. Among us, we had 2 lamb kabob dinners, a chicken combo dinner and a chicken cream chop dinner. All came to the table very hot, almost too hot to eat. The lamb was delicious - it had an excellent flavor that wasn't overpowering and was cooked perfectly. The chicken combo was wonderful. The kabob was excellent, and the shwarma and kafta both were very good. I would easily have any one of them again. Both the lamb and chicken had some grilled carrot slices that had been between the kabob meat chunks when grilled - those were super! The side of rice in both was covered with almond pieces and was very good. In retrospect, the chicken cream chop with fries was the wrong choice. Both were good but it's a plate of fried food when there are so many better options. Still, the garlic cream spread makes everything great! The chef came to the table to make sure we were happy. Not a common occurrence these days regardless of where you go. He told us how he makes the garlic cream spread - it has jalapeno pepper in it, for a bit of a kick. Have I mentioned how good that stuff is? Sadly, they were out of rice pudding so we ended up with Baklava for dessert. Stick with the plain, not the chocolate (which definitely seemed commercially prepared). It was good but I've had better. A brief mention of the environment: This is a former Chinese restaurant that still has the old Chinese dragon ceiling tiles. The place is clearly worn and has seen a lot of use, so it's a bit dingy. But otherwise it had some Middle Easter decor and was clean. The tables all had single bud vases of a variety of fresh flowers, already setup for the day-long Sunday buffet. (I wish I could go!) Lastly, be prepared to take food home. Portions are big - a good value for the money. I do wish this restaurant was in my home town of Buffalo. Our Lebanese restaurants are good but this is better. I'd definitely return to Kabob Castle if I ever have the chance and I know exactly what I'd order the next time. read more

My husband and I were so excited to finally have a middle eastern place in the area and then to find out they deliver and stay open reasonably late?! The food was delicious, meat was not dry, and they gave us freshly baked pita (another bonus) and garlic sauce without us even asking! I can't wait to try more things off their menu! Have to agree with the other positive ratings here. I visited before they officially opened, minor construction still going on. Everything was good and fresh. Important thing with Middle Eastern food - it has to be fresh! Owner and employees (family?) are all very nice and accommodating. Second visit was as good as first. We ordered carry out on a weekend and were so thrilled to find this place. You may question it from the exterior and the interior is pretty dated, but the food is outstanding, authentic middle eastern. The hummus is so smooth and creamy. I am so glad they have the fresh oven baked bread. We enjoyed the Galaba (spelling?) With fattosh salad. They gave us ample dressing and packed it separately, which is helpful for carry out. We were visiting from the south where the middle eastern food does not compare, so I am happy to have found this place and will return whenever I am in town. Food is great, ordering carry out is not. I've ordered carry out from here 3 times and 3 times items were wrong or missing. The portions are fairly generous except for the pita and garlic sauce for carry out. I've been looking for amazing middle eastern carry out since palm palace on hall road closed. If they were able to pick up their game, this could be it. If they did what palm palace did and go over your with you sorting you each item before you left I would be much happier. read more

Went there today for lunch with my daughter and mom, the service was fantastic. I had the sandwich, a cup of lentil soup, and the fattoush salad... Everything was amazing. The prices are very reasonable, the food is incredibly authentic and delicious. I highly recommend. My daughter had the Caesar salad, and the dressing actually tasted like it may have been homemade.
