Beautiful outdoor seating area with pillows and cushions. Wonderful service where the heat lamps were moved closer to us when the weather got cooler. The food was fabulous. An Afghan restaurant in the center of a glitzy Blackhawk mall seems out of place, but I'm glad it's there. We went there on a quiet Monday afternoon and sat at their outside tables, some of which are bordered by low couches with many pillows. Also a small inside dining room. Tried my favorite, Kabuli pollow, delicious with a full lamb shank buried beneath the rice and carrots. Their bolani was also excellent, as was the kebab plate. Lots of food in each dish. Even the bolani, which was advertised as an appetizer, could have fed both of us without anything else. We brought home enough food for the next 2 days, all of it delicious. And the hosts, two Afghan men, were knowledgeable and friendly as could be. This place is now on our very short go-to list. read more

This place has become my go to place as soon as I discovered just before Mother's Day. We came in a group of 20 celebrating Mothers Day. The owners are so nice and accommodating. We tried tikka kabob, chicken kabob, bolani, chapli kabob. Everything was made to perfection and had so much flavor. My favorite is the chapli kabob. I highly recommend the tekka kabob. its a nice clean simple restaurant in black hawk plaza. it was raining so we sat inside. seating is limited but food is very good and outside seating looks nice by the water. the chicken kabob was decent but the tekka was definitely better. we didn't try anything else. This will be our go to afghan place from now on with flavorful kabobs unlike chopan and zalla which lack flavor. read more

I had a very disappointing experience at this place. Ordered a combo plate and potato bolani. In a combo plate both beef and chicken kebab were subpar: dry, smelled and looked bad. The salad looked as if it was days old or scraped from leftovers. When I pointed the quality to the manger, they offered to replace the beef but it was equally as bad. Bolani was more tolerable but I barely tasted any potatoes. . Also, i asked for the brown rice instead of white but they still brought white rice but this is minor thing compared to the unsatisfactory quality of their food. I am not recommending this place. As I was leaving, the manager said some nonsense like: " I will remember you next time to give you better food." What?! No comments... read more

I've been on a search for chaplee kabob since I moved out of the Fremont area a decade ago and this place did not disappoint. The chaplee was flavorful, moist, and had the just the right amount of spice. The rice was cooked perfectly. The borani banjan was also a hit. Other family members ordered the combination kabob plates and commented that they were satisfied with their food and would order it again. I should note that this restaurant has not been open for that long and the staff are still figuring out how to work efficiently with a small kitchen and storage space. The order took some more time than expected to prepare, but was well worth the wait. The order was for to-go and all of the food was still tasty and warm when we ate it at home. I'll definitely go back to this restaurant. read more
