We're starving so popped in here for brunch yesterday and it was a great time. I did not catch our server's name, but she was pretty nice. We had coffee, mimosas, pancakes, eggs, Benedict, and a create your own omelette. A great mix, and everything tasted pretty good. I liked how they use cinnamon in the pancakes to give it some flavor. The restaurant was pretty quiet. I just wish the service was a tad faster. But I would definitely return.
We had limited options but we're glad to find them open on Easter Sunday! Service was quick and friendly. The Mallorca sandwich was made perfectly to my liking. Portions were large. Staff was knowledgeable and quick to share a bit about the island as well. The aesthetic was very cute. My only down side was the water was cucumber mint which didn't do it for me. Definitely with a stop in!
The Kaffe Haus is fantastic! From the modern, hip vibe to the delicious coffee to the excellent service - I have nothing but praise for our experience. The Kaffe House atmosphere is one where you can linger and not be rushed. Gerardo was our waiter and he was informative, friendly, and made great recommendations. I love the decor, the food, and atmosphere- definitely a highlight of our time in Old San Juan.
There are so many places to eat in Viejo San Juan but Kaffe Haus is an absolute cannot be missed, must visit breakfast spot. Have you ever thought to put oregano in your waffle? Probably not but I'm so glad I tried the waffle and pork belly dish because it was genuinely one of the most unique and delicious things I've ever tried. The waffle and pork belly were topped with guava maple syrup and the sweet balanced the savory perfectly. The drinks were unreal too. My coconut latte was so delicious and they made it half sweet for me. I loved that the whip cream on top was likely cool whip so it didn't hurt my stomach. So delicious, such a good vibe, and the service was amazing too!!
We did brunch at Kaffe Haus for my mom's birthday and she had a great time! The food was good and the food portions are pretty big so you'll definitely be getting your money's worth. All the staff members we interacted with were nice and friendly. I would definitely come back to eat next time I'm in PR!
Based off of our experience eating here, the service was disappointing. Our server did not introduce himself and seemed to be in an annoyed mood throughout the visit. He was not very attentive and never checked on us after we received our food or asked if everything was okay or if we needed anything. As for the food, it was overall okay, but there were some issues. The fried potatoes were a bit too salty, and the bacon was undercooked. Overall, the experience could have been much better with more attentive service and better food preparation.
Came here for breakfast--it was super busy, probably because it's one of the few sit-down spots with a full menu in the area. The space is bright with plenty of seating, and we were seated right away, but service was very slow. It took a while to get water, coffee, and our food (over 30 minutes), with no updates or apologies. The coffee and food were both good but a bit overpriced. They were also out of hot sauce and some condiments. Overall, a decent but pricey spot, even without alcohol (known for mimosas)
Stellar service and coffee with a delicious breakfast to start a full day of walking around Old San Juan. The vibes were great at Kaffe Haus, which also had a good sound level. We enjoyed the Chocolate Tempation, Vanilla Temptation, Veggies Eggs Benedict, and French Toast Montecristo -- and would order everything again. We'll be back!
I would say this place is decent overall. The empanadas were definitely the highlight--crispy on the outside with a flavorful, well-seasoned filling. The queso frito was just okay; it arrived a bit cold in the center and lacked flavor. The chicken sandwich was good, though not particularly memorable. Unfortunately, the lobster roll was disappointing--it tasted like imitation meat and was quite soggy. As for the coffee, I ordered the lavender latte, but even after adding three sugar packets and extra flavor syrup, it remained overly bitter. The best was the location, the decor and the service.
We waited for 30 minutes for a table for two. Which didn't bother us honestly because they took my number down and said they would text when they were ready for us so we just walked around and explored until they texted us. Our waitress was super friendly. She recommended the spinach and cream cheese empanadillas and they were amazing even my husband who is not a spinach fan loved them. The food did take a long time to come out but it was pretty busy. I had the Mallorca chicken sandwich. The bread has been a fave of mine since I was little. The chicken was massive and it tasted good. My husband ordered the Cuban sandwich which he enjoyed. The portions are big. I had the vanilla temptation latte. I thought this place was great and will visit the next time I am in Puerto Rico
We were seeking out a cool place to take a break from the heat and enjoy a coffee. This place had an extensive menu for both food and drinks. Pictured are the Marshmallow Bliss iced coffee and the Coconut Passion iced coffee. Each were delicious. If we were hungry at the time I could definitely find us ordering food from their menu. Everything sounded so good.
I had a nice brunch here. We made a reservation and waited around 10 minutes before being seated. We were a big party of 10 people. Service was okay. We didn't get water cups until we got our meal. They also brought glasses of drinks out when we ordered a pitcher originally. But I was happy they accommodated me when I asked for my food to go since I had to catch a flight. Everyone else's food didn't come out long after. I loved my grilled chicken although a little salty. It was very juicy. Veggies and plantains tasted fresh.
This place has amazing coffees, especially the specialty ones. I've gone here both times I was in PR. They have great breakfast too. The entire family thought so. However, I must admit their service is pretty bad. It takes hours to get your food and there is no sense of urgency. However the food and drinks make it worthwhile despite the long wait times. If you have some time to spare I recommend checking this place out. read more
We decided to stop by Kaffe Haus for a late brunch after a morning of walking around historic San Juan and we were very pleased with the food, the ambiance, and the service. The first thing you notice when you walk into the restaurant is its trendy decor, with an indoor and outdoor portion of the restaurant. The seating was super comfortable and the overall ambiance was very cool and calm. We asked our server for food recommendations and she made some wonderful ones. She also gave us some great tips for sightseeing/touristy activities to do and for good authentic restaurants to go to! The Chef's Omelettes (it was huge!), fresh fruit, potatoes, and french toast were delicious. You can also create your own omelette but personally I recommend one of the Chef's Omelettes for a better deal. The fruit was very refreshing after being out in the hot sun. We also ordered some of their breakfast beverages from their extensive menu! Lots of great options. We got a hot tea, a latte, and one of their Haus specialty Coffees, the Angel Kaffe (it was the perfect balance of sweet caramel, whipped cream, and refreshing iced coffee). 5 star experience overall! read more

Just had a delightful brunch at this place in old town San Juan. First thing we noticed was the Great music with plenty of hits from days past. The Restaurant had great ambiance with plenty of different seating options. From casual coffee drinking spots to table and chairs for full meals. Next the waitress was very friendly and made sure our meal was enjoyable. I had the traditional waffles which had great flavor and came with fresh fruit, whipped cream, and syrup. Delicious. The wife had madame croquete witH turkey and provolone which was great and had huge portions. Also had a side of bread which came with a little salad and chips which was a nice touch. They have free WiFi with a password up by the register. read more
At first we were a bit turned off from visiting another day and being seated at a coffee table and chairs. We were looking more to eat rather than sit and have coffee so the seating was not ideal that day. We came back today and the seating was way better as they were not as packed. The parcha mimosa was so good (probably the best I have had so far). The waiter (Grant) was great and has many travel stories to tell. We had the veggie omelette and boricua eggs benedict. My daughter and I had breakfast at this place today! And I can tell you that everything was excellent! The food, the atmosphere, the place, the service. My daughter ordered a bagel with salmon and eggs with diced potatoes, her drink was an ice caramel coffee. I ordered an omelette with salmon spinach and mushroom also with diced potatoes and a side of fried sweet plantain that my daughter and I share! My drink was a hot cappuccino. The prices are very affordable compared to other restaurants in the area! I really recommend this place. read more
The food was great here! And service was very friendly! There is no air conditioning so it can get hot. The servers here are super nice!! Great vibes and good coffee. Beware if you are wearing light color bottoms, the painted chairs can transfer color onto your clothes. The guy on the computer, I assume the manager, didn't help at all and actually asked the girl who was helping me to go back to work. All the stars for the awesome ladies there! read more

We went because of the reviews. We had to wait 45 mins to be seated so please make sure you make reservations in advance. The place and customer service was great but the food was flavorless although it looked great. Not sure what everyone else ordered but our food was basic tasting read more
The is the best brunch in Old San Juan. It is located in a nice coffee shop right in the heart of old San Juan. The food is impeccable the drinks are refreshing for a hot day and you could not ask for better service. Everyone is nice and approachable with whatever questions you may have. The food takes a while to come, but once you receive it you forget how long it took. I would recommend everyone that is in San Juan or Old San Juan to grab brunch here. read more
We went for breakfast and it was delicious! We didn't have to wait for a table, the coffee was amazing (we both got americanos), and the food was just what we needed. My husband got a bacon omelette with onions, tomatoes, and peppers, while I got the smoked salmon benedict. The diced potatoes that came with the benedict were also quite good (personally preferred to my husband's classic hash brown although that was good too). Would definitely recommend for breakfast in viejo San Juan! read more

Phenomenal spot to brunch in the Old San Juan district. Me and my friend both ordered unlimited mimosas. They last for a hour and a half and you have so many flavors to chose from. They have passion fruit, traditional, tamarind, Caribbean cherry, & soursop. I tried all of them besides traditional and tamarind and the Caribbean cherry was by far both of our favorites. She ordered the chicken and waffles and I ordered a waffle platter after seeing the pictures online with the fresh fruit. I decided to eat bacon on my platter and opt for hashbrowns instead of diced potatoes. (Only Mistake) the waffle was very fluffy and compressed. The fruit and whip cream went together well and I barely even needed my syrup. The bacon could've been more crispy but had excellent flavor. Everything went so well together. The atmosphere was open and fun and they had a live band playing as we enjoyed our food. We had an amazing waiter who made sure we were taken care of. Our food took a considerable amount of time and there were people who came in after us and received their food before us, but besides this no complaints at all. The chicken quesadilla was by far the star of the show. Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. It was amazing. One of the best I've had in life. The cheese they use is top tier. I'd definitely come back next time I'm here. 5/5 make sure you have a little bit of time as they have a scratch kitchen and wait at times. We ended up waiting 30 minutes to be seated and then about 40 for our order after ordering. Nevertheless, I'd definitely recommend. read more

Super cute restaurant with really good food and drinks. Came with my family and we all enjoyed the ambience and our server was very attentive and and welcoming. He helped explain the different menu items and gave us great recommendations. Among the food we ordered was the Smash Brunch Burger, Chicken and Waffles, French Toast, and the Mallorca Chicken Sandwich. Everything was delicioussss. The only thing I wasn't too much a fan of were the drinks. They were strong but the taste was not the best. Aside from that, I would definitely return to eat and have a fun time. read more
This place came highly recommended by the front desk of our hotel so we decided to try it for breakfast. We were not disappointed. The wait time wasn't long. While we waited, we took pictures outside to pass the time lol. Once inside, the restaurant was very nicely decorated and there was a live performer, which was nice. There were a lot of seasonal specials available. I went with a cappuccino and chicken and waffle. It was delicious. I wanted more spice and the waiter brought out an avocado hot sauce which was pretty tasty. This is a great breakfast spot in Old San Juan and a must visit when in the area. read more

If you're in or near Old San Juan and in need of a great cup of Joe this Kaffe Haus is the perfect spot! I had 2 large cafe con leche and didn't have a third because I also ordered the boricua for brunch. The omelette was delicious and it came with sweet plantains and seasoned yucca . read more

What am awesome find! Jenni was great. She was very friendly, and a great waitress. We came in wanting to try the Churraso and eggs. The steak was so tender, and seasoned perfectly. The coffee was excellent as well. We really enjoyed our time here, and will definitely return. read more

We actually ate here twice because our breakfast was so delicious. My first visit here, we both had the Boricua omelette, with the chef's selection meat being pulled pork shoulder that day. It was absolutely delicious with the sweet plantains also included in the omelette. It's served with a choice of breakfast potatoes or hashbrowns; I opted for the potatoes which were seasoned and tasty (no ketchup needed). My cappuccino was also great. On my second visit, I had the Lobster Benedict and the Tropic Nut coffee. My friend had the Mallorca Chicken Sandwich and the Vanilla Temptation coffee. Both dishes and coffees were excellent!!! The servers are all friendly as well. An overall great spot, check it out! read more
This place really has it all going for it. From location (super close to our hotel) to the outside paint job, to the European café feel you have on the inside. Everything about this place is spot on! We arrived here for a mid-morning breakfast, and fortunately were able to be seated immediately! Our water was friendly, prompt, took good care of us throughout the duration of our time at Kaffe Haus. My wife went for one of the signature coffees that they had to offer, which she loved. I opted for a mimosa (unfortunately I don't remember which one). But, it was really good (2nd overall from our trip to PR). Food took a bit to come out, but from what I'm noticing about these places, they try to make it a dining experience. They don't try to hurry anyone in and out to make more room. Once you are there they want to make sure that you are taken care of and never rushed. Once the food arrived it was amazing also. I had the waffles with fruit and bacon. Everything was cooked to perfection! If you decide to try these guys, and you should, plan about an hour to hour and fifteen minutes (as long as there isn't a wait to get a table). Really awesome cool vibe here. If we didn't have so many places to try we would have come back here for sure. read more

I'm so glad we came across Kaffe Haus during our visit to Puerto Rico. To begin with the hostess acknowledged us really quick and was super friendly. We were seated in just 5 mins, our waitress was also very friendly and very helpful with the questions we had about the menu. The menu has a lot of delicious options and because we couldn't decide on what to get we ordered a lot of food like the tres leches pancakes with the platter (eggs, bacon & potatoes) an omelet and the delicious crab cakes egg Benedict, all came with these delicious baked potatoes that you won't be able to stop eating!! The ice coffee was the best coffee I had in the island oh also the soursop juice was really good! I'm sad I didn't take any pictures of the meals we had :/ but the time I realized most of the food was gone. I hope you enjoy the meals as much as I did :) read more

The service is impeccable in this restaurant. We had visited other brunch spots near the area and being a weekend day and the fact that PR is know for live music in their restaurants it was very hard to get seated anywhere. We were seated right away and we immediately heard the live music. We were seated at a small area outside which at first I thought I would be uncomfortable because it was 90 degrees outside but they kept the door open so that we would still get the cold air from the A/C inside which must've been a really high power air conditioner because we were quite comfortable the entire meal. - OK let's get to the food, it was wonderful I love me a good eggs Benedict so I got the one with bacon on it my fiancé got the lobster/crab one both delicious, can't go wrong with either of them -Drinks we ordered the passion fruit and Tamarind Mimosa flutes both delicious and refreshing but my favorite was the tamarind this time. -For dessert/caffeine kick we got the coconut temptation latte, sooo good and decadent comes with an enormous amount of whipped cream and coconut on the rim of the mug it's a MUST try! read more

Big, open place with a small patio area. With a name like kaffe haus, you'd expect a German coffee house of sorts but it's a legitimate brunch/lunch/dinner spot. They have huge fans that are a huge plus on a hot San Juan day. The brunch is a great deal so definitely get that. Oh and the service is attentive and quick. Great staff! read more
Live Jazz to go with my Sunday Brunch? Don't mind if I do! I have very few favorites and live jazz is definitely one of them. I was unexpectedly surprised to find that there was a band when we visited Kaffe Haus our last Sunday in Puerto Rico! And they were the absolute BEST. Besides the band, everything we experienced here was phenomenal. Starting with our initial impression down to the very last sip of my strawberry mojito. The employees exhibit great team work, and they have a really good seating system. We were able to walk in and sit down within 20 minutes without a reservation. It doesn't sound to amazing but once you try the food you will understand why it is a big deal. Especially because of the ambiance and duh don't forget about the live jazz. It just seems as if this is the place to be! We ordered a few different dishes to share. The salmon omelet, crab cake Benedict , salmon Benedict, lobster pasta and steak and eggs. Man oh man, let's just say every plate was licked clean! We were so excited to get some great food after a lot of failed attempts on our vacation. I'm not sure what was going on but mostly every restaurant we tried was lacking some serious flavor and freshness. But Kaffe Haus made us happy visitors and helped to end our vacation on a strong note. Can I just say that the creaminess of the hollandaise sauce on the Benedict's was comforting. Of all things, that and the salmon alone was the best part of my meal. That lobster pasta is a whole other story. The flavor in the dish is addicting, we could not stop eating it. I say all that to get to this, do yourself a favor. Try this place out. You won't be disappointed! read more

The ambiance is super fun--we went on a Sunday morning and they had live jazz. The staff are kind and friendly and really went above and beyond to make our experience great and to make us feel welcome. The food is delicious. We had the coffee, brunch and a few cocktails and they were all equally delicious. read more

Everything about this place was amazing. The wait staff was super friendly. The food was "to die for". I highly recommend the deviled crab eggs and smoked salmon omelette. You know never what you are going to get when you randomly find a breakfast place but this was top notch. We'll be back!! read more

Waited for 1 hour for the food to come. Waiter was never around to check up on us and he barely spoke to us when he did. Coffee was room temperature and the food was also bland. Felt like I could have made it at home. Wish I had a better experience considering all the positive reviews. Had a reservation at 12pm but didn't receive food til 1pm. AVOID COMING UNLESS YOU HAVE PLENTY OF HOURS TO WASTE read more

Came here for my birthday the food (breakfast burrito is what I had) was amazing and the coffee was by far the best coffee I've had in a while. Grant was amazing and very personable he helped us with different places to go to while in town. The vibe was really nice it was an Uber able great pick for brunch. read more

They had various food options to choose from. Good atmosphere and the staff were friendly. They serve coffee as well. I liked the fact they offered non diary milk including both oat milk and almond milk for the coffee. Food was served quick and our waiter was attentive. read more

My family and I went here for brunch. We got seated right away. Mask is required. I love the wall art and wall decor. We ordered queso frito for appetizers and for drinks I got Caribbean cherry but they didnt have much left so he gave it to me for free. For the main entree we ordered ny tips with manchego omelet, churrasco steak with eggs, and avocado & ham egg benedict. Service was good, the place had a chill vibe. read more
