We're starving so popped in here for brunch yesterday and it was a great time. I did not catch our server's name, but she was pretty nice. We had coffee, mimosas, pancakes, eggs, Benedict, and a create your own omelette. A great mix, and everything tasted pretty good. I liked how they use cinnamon in the pancakes to give it some flavor. The restaurant was pretty quiet. I just wish the service was a tad faster. But I would definitely return.
We had limited options but we're glad to find them open on Easter Sunday! Service was quick and friendly. The Mallorca sandwich was made perfectly to my liking. Portions were large. Staff was knowledgeable and quick to share a bit about the island as well. The aesthetic was very cute. My only down side was the water was cucumber mint which didn't do it for me. Definitely with a stop in!
The Kaffe Haus is fantastic! From the modern, hip vibe to the delicious coffee to the excellent service - I have nothing but praise for our experience. The Kaffe House atmosphere is one where you can linger and not be rushed. Gerardo was our waiter and he was informative, friendly, and made great recommendations. I love the decor, the food, and atmosphere- definitely a highlight of our time in Old San Juan.
There are so many places to eat in Viejo San Juan but Kaffe Haus is an absolute cannot be missed, must visit breakfast spot. Have you ever thought to put oregano in your waffle? Probably not but I'm so glad I tried the waffle and pork belly dish because it was genuinely one of the most unique and delicious things I've ever tried. The waffle and pork belly were topped with guava maple syrup and the sweet balanced the savory perfectly. The drinks were unreal too. My coconut latte was so delicious and they made it half sweet for me. I loved that the whip cream on top was likely cool whip so it didn't hurt my stomach. So delicious, such a good vibe, and the service was amazing too!!
We did brunch at Kaffe Haus for my mom's birthday and she had a great time! The food was good and the food portions are pretty big so you'll definitely be getting your money's worth. All the staff members we interacted with were nice and friendly. I would definitely come back to eat next time I'm in PR!
Based off of our experience eating here, the service was disappointing. Our server did not introduce himself and seemed to be in an annoyed mood throughout the visit. He was not very attentive and never checked on us after we received our food or asked if everything was okay or if we needed anything. As for the food, it was overall okay, but there were some issues. The fried potatoes were a bit too salty, and the bacon was undercooked. Overall, the experience could have been much better with more attentive service and better food preparation.
Came here for breakfast--it was super busy, probably because it's one of the few sit-down spots with a full menu in the area. The space is bright with plenty of seating, and we were seated right away, but service was very slow. It took a while to get water, coffee, and our food (over 30 minutes), with no updates or apologies. The coffee and food were both good but a bit overpriced. They were also out of hot sauce and some condiments. Overall, a decent but pricey spot, even without alcohol (known for mimosas)
Stellar service and coffee with a delicious breakfast to start a full day of walking around Old San Juan. The vibes were great at Kaffe Haus, which also had a good sound level. We enjoyed the Chocolate Tempation, Vanilla Temptation, Veggies Eggs Benedict, and French Toast Montecristo -- and would order everything again. We'll be back!
I would say this place is decent overall. The empanadas were definitely the highlight--crispy on the outside with a flavorful, well-seasoned filling. The queso frito was just okay; it arrived a bit cold in the center and lacked flavor. The chicken sandwich was good, though not particularly memorable. Unfortunately, the lobster roll was disappointing--it tasted like imitation meat and was quite soggy. As for the coffee, I ordered the lavender latte, but even after adding three sugar packets and extra flavor syrup, it remained overly bitter. The best was the location, the decor and the service.
We waited for 30 minutes for a table for two. Which didn't bother us honestly because they took my number down and said they would text when they were ready for us so we just walked around and explored until they texted us. Our waitress was super friendly. She recommended the spinach and cream cheese empanadillas and they were amazing even my husband who is not a spinach fan loved them. The food did take a long time to come out but it was pretty busy. I had the Mallorca chicken sandwich. The bread has been a fave of mine since I was little. The chicken was massive and it tasted good. My husband ordered the Cuban sandwich which he enjoyed. The portions are big. I had the vanilla temptation latte. I thought this place was great and will visit the next time I am in Puerto Rico
We were seeking out a cool place to take a break from the heat and enjoy a coffee. This place had an extensive menu for both food and drinks. Pictured are the Marshmallow Bliss iced coffee and the Coconut Passion iced coffee. Each were delicious. If we were hungry at the time I could definitely find us ordering food from their menu. Everything sounded so good.
I had a nice brunch here. We made a reservation and waited around 10 minutes before being seated. We were a big party of 10 people. Service was okay. We didn't get water cups until we got our meal. They also brought glasses of drinks out when we ordered a pitcher originally. But I was happy they accommodated me when I asked for my food to go since I had to catch a flight. Everyone else's food didn't come out long after. I loved my grilled chicken although a little salty. It was very juicy. Veggies and plantains tasted fresh.

Kaffe Haus was so cute inside and had really welcoming staff. We watched a little kid break some glassware and the staff was gracious about it. My family members enjoyed omelettes cooked perfectly. The chicken and waffles were outstanding. read more

Great ambiance and playlist! Soulful but thoughtful and good volume level. Food was fantastic - tried the monte Cristo and the crab Benedict. Benedict eggs cooked to perfection and generous with the crab. Recommend the bacon Bloody Mary and the black coffee for drinks. read more

This place is well worth the wait! Best pancakes I've ate anywhere thus far. Cuban sandwich with a side of jalapeño sauce was also fire. Great atmosphere, friendly service. While eating I could hear the wait times getting longer and longer but again, I can see why. A must try while at old San Juan! read more

Food was very well presented, and had some light taste. However the sandwich I ordered the chicken was not seasoned well the restaurant was decorated tastefully representing local chic culture l. My server was attentive but I just did not enjoy my dish. The vanilla and Carmel iced coffee I ordered was well presented but could've used a lot more flavor. I still have the restaurant 4 stars because the mates that dined with me enjoyed their dishes. Also the restaurant has no public WiFi and I would recommend parking before coming as parking in old San Juan is sparse. read more

This place had some great reviews so we wanted to check out this gem in Old San Juan. Luckily we got there and was seated right away; no reservation needed. They check your temperature and sanitize hands upon entry. The setup is spacious so there's definitely distancing in effect. Very nice decor and ambience. There's also some hip music playing in the background. Food comes in big portions so prepare your appetite. I had the chicken and waffles meal. The chicken was flavorful, juicy and crunchy. Whatever the mix is for the waffle batter, it was just mouthwatering. I definitely enjoyed this filling meal here. Eat here early then walk it off through the town of Old San Juan. read more

Really enjoyed brunch here during my trip to Puerto Rico. I had it saved as a place I wanted to try and then it was on the list of places my photographer suggested so I knew I had to come. I had the lobster Benedict and it was delicious, if I had the time I'd go back again before the end of my trip because everything on the menu looked amazing . The chai was perfect and the Bailey's just made it even better. The restaurant is very spacious, kind of like a chill coffee house. Highly recommend to anyone in town. read more

Really cute place, excellent coffee. The staff are great and working hard, they seemed to be understaffed a bit when we ate breakfast here. But we were patient as they were busying there butts.. My only critique is that they need to put some butter or seasoning on the food. Its good but it needs a little more love. read more

Shoutout to Nicole! She is by far one of the nicest, courteous, thoughtful, kind, gentle, sweetest and efficient servers I've ever had the honor of meeting! If ownership sees this review, please take note as she certainly deserves the praise, and perhaps a raise as well! This is a wonderful little restaurant and cafe located right in the heart of old San Juan. I love the open floor layout of the space, which creates plenty of space for social distancing between tables. The interior has a very hip coffee shop vibe and the large sweeping arches invite you to explore further back into the restaurant. As cute as it is inside, I highly suggest asking for a table outside in the back courtyard.. with hanging plants, tall plaster walls, cast iron gates, and a beautiful large fountain smack in the center, feels like it's own hidden oasis. Drinks: They have bottomless mimosas for $25 for 2 hours, which is a great deal! They have a bunch of flavors and I very much enjoyed the grapefruit. I also ordered a cappuccino which to my delight, came with a generous heapful of froth and cinnamon. Food: Eggs benedict was outstanding! The hollandaise sauce was so flavorsome yet not over the top, as I've often experienced elsewhere. What made the dish even more special was the lightly fried crab cakes underneath the sauce. The hashbrowns on the side were delicious as well, without being too soggy or oily. Amazing dish! Dessert: Ordered the waffle for dessert and had absolutely zero regrets. It was served with raspberries, melons, blackberries, whipped cream and powdered sugar in a large deep dish plate. The chef presented it so wonderfully that it felt like a dessert from a high end restaurant in Manhattan. Not a single morsel was spared. With so many options in Old San Juan, rest assured Kaffe Haus is a great one! read more

I give this place 2 stars. The food was disappointing; the chicken was very dry, and omelette was missing the bacon. The service was subpar--I had to ask for ketchup five times before I finally received it. Overall, I will not be returning to this location. read more
I went here with a friend in the morning before a flight and it was so good! We both did bottomless mimosas. I love that they had such a variety of juices to pick from. The Caribbean cherry is the best! We also both got a meal which was huge and we could have shared them. All of our food was delicious. Our server was great. She came frequently to ask us if we wanted more drinks and was able to recommend some places for us to visit if we had time. The place is decorated very cute, a little touristy but nice. read more

Stopped in for breakfast and it was delicious! The chicken and waffles were savory with a hint of sweet and spice. Very yummy! Our waitress recommended the carmel latte and it was good. Lots of whipped cream on top, just the way I love it! The inside is nice, and the tables were spaced out well. Overall, I recommend coming in for breakfast before exploring Old San Juan! read more

Decent breakfast/brunch place, but a bit disappointed with the greasiness of the food. Make sure to make a reservation since the food takes a while to come out so the line can get long. The cappuccinos and lattes were decent but presentation was a slight letdown (just blobs of foam). We also ordered 2 house omelettes (the chittora and the boricua), the custom sausage omelette, and the scrambled eggs breakfast with ham. The omelettes themselves were tasty but very oily. The boricua omelette was my fav but heavy due to the grease. You could see oil oozing out when you pressed a fork onto it which was pretty off putting. The house potatoes and tater tots were amazing, though. Our waitress was super nice throughout the meal and there was a nice live music set which definitely created a good vibe. Just disappointed that the food was really oily. But the ambience and restaurant itself is pretty cute. read more

The location for this restaurant is perfect! It is right in the heart of San Juan so after brunch my group and I got to do a lot of sight seeing around the area. Fortaleza Steet is also a couple of blocks away (formerly known as umbrella street but when we visited there were butterflies). The customer service here is exceptional and the staff is very friendly. This was my first time having coffee with liquor. I was a bit scared but quite impressed. I don't recall the name of my exact drink but it was very yummy and not watered down at all. For my appetizer I had something light and airy. Dough was soft and it was very good. The lamb burger was spectacular as well it was not cooked too long and just melted in my mouth! I would definitely recommend this spot if you're visiting or just a local! read more

We had a couple of hours to spare before our flight to leave back home and stumbled upon this place on tik tok. Our expectations were low due to having poor services at a couple of restaurants we visited while in PR. Let me say that our server Eva along with the other servers in the restaurant were absolutely amazing. Eva took the time too explain the menu to us and had such a caring gentle energy that made us feel at home. I decided to try their Espresso martini along with the peanut butter one and it was delicious. Once the food arrived we were in shock at the portion sizes. They were HUGE. The food is was very good and we even tried a blueberry hot sauce that they make in house that Eva recommended. The food had very good flavor and we rolled ourselves out of there from how full we were. We did not get any appetizers which I would have loved to try but the entrees we got left no room for anything else. My partner is not big on coffee but wanted to try a latte and Eva helped him pick something that he would enjoy. The restaurant was extremely cute and had good music playing in the background. My husband and I brunched here, and had a good experience! His omelette was made perfectly to order, and my latte and breakfast platter came out just as desired. The ambiance is cute and casual. Hollandaise sauce was broken on my Eggs Benedict , but it was fine otherwise. It took 35 min for the food to come out, but less than 5 to tell us to vacate the table after we finished eating. I was a bit put off by that as I was waiting for someone in the restroom (there were only 2 bathrooms and so there was a line) and I was waiting for them at our table. Food was good! We stopped by Kaffe Haus for breakfast on a Monday morning before exploring Old San Juan. We were seated promptly. We ordered our coffee drinks first and could not believe how yummy they looked when they came out! We got 3 coffee drinks: Coconut Passion iced, Angel Kaffe iced and the Tropic Nut hot. All 3 were fabulous!! Not overly sweet but still full of flavor. The coffee taste was not overwhelmed by the flavorings. Would highly recommend any of these 3 drinks. We were not terribly hungry, so the three of us shared the Tres Leches pancake platter. It was 2 large Tres Leches pancakes served with 2 eggs any style (we chose scrambled), choice of meat (we chose bacon), and hash browns. It was plenty of food for three people! Not to mention, the pancakes were insanely good. Highly recommend the Tres Leches pancakes!! read more

There are so many things to love about Kaffe Haus! It's located in the center of Old San Juan, they have live music indoors, and the staff are warm and welcoming. Our server Grant was super sweet! He talked to us a little about Puerto Rico and his background which was nice. We were a little disappointed when we received our food and beverages. The coffee was lukewarm and our meals were cold. The side of home fries looked as if it had been sitting out all day. Grant was understanding and threw in a free beer for us. Overall, great ambiance, but the quality of food lacked. read more

Service 10/10, food 10/10, location 8/10 On our vacation trip we stopped by twice! The food was so delicious, and both times my partner and I didn't have reservations and we got seated almost immediately (10-15 min wait). The host were very nice and even recommended us to try some spots in San Juan. As a coffee lover, it was great to try their coffee mixes, (the coconut coffee was my favorite, the caramel one was very good but a little too sweet). This cafe was recommended to us by a cousin who lives in Old San Juan. She has very particular tastes and can be selective about the businesses and eateries she frequents. Long story short, this place is fantastic! I ordered the 2 egg breakfast with jamón and hash browns and it was cooked perfectly. My husband ordered the boricua omelette and it was phenomenal! Truly an unique and delicious dish. We also ordered a fruit bowl and it was all so fresh and at peak quality. No mushy fruits, no filler fruits. Lastly, my husband ordered a green tea with honey and has not stopped raving about it. Green tea...who knew? I had a cafe con leche as well as an iced chai and both were wonderful. As we walked out the owner/manager walked us out and asked how we enjoyed everything. He was super kind and welcoming and told us to come back again. Great place for brunch! read more
