I was in Newport, RI for the weekend. I spotted this place while walking on Thames St. I was so glad I checked out this place. This place is cute little cafe with plenty seating to enjoy your drink or food. They do offer wide range of food including avocado toast called Newport veg and yummy variety milkshakes. I do have to let you know the milkshakes are slightly on the expensive side but the amount of drink is worth to pay for it. My husband and I decided to order s'mores milkshake. I loved how the staff took a lot time into decorating our drink similar to their advertisement pictures that I saw in the store. The drink cost close to $10+ but I can't tell you how worth it was!!!!! The s'mores milkshake had Hershey chocolate, gram crackers, melted s'mores, actual s'mores, and milkshake with bunch of ingredients was out of the world. I've seen these shops with crazy instagramable shakes popping up but this was my first visit. This is actually a coffee shop, which happens to also make 4 of these cool shakes. Notably located between a pinkberry and a Ben & Jerry's and I couldn't help but spend most of my time here wondering how such real estate developed this way. We ended up with a free large cappuccino because someone misorders and that was very large and delicious. I'm happy there were only 4 choices because I'd rather they be great at the 4 then ok at more. What looks pike a production is a full blown production so don't go running in to try to grab one of these in a hurry. I didn't get to see every step but it seemed to all be freshly prepared, nothing had been sitting around already prepped. I went with the s'mores which was a very easy choice for me. Someone at a nearby table has one as well. I'd say this is definitely a novelty. It's over the top, it's fun. I'd say the ratio of whipped cream to everything else was way off for my liking. Roasted marshmallows and an actual s'more on top were decadent and delish. The milkshake itself was rather small under all that whipped cream and toppings. I finished it and was surprised that I wasn't in an uncomfortable ice cream coma. I thought this was a very cute place and I really enjoyed my drink, I got a large iced milky way latte with almond milk. It was very busy when I went with my friends and the workers didn't really make for a good environment! A bunch of people were waiting for their orders and the two young girls were just talking to each other behind the counter! I know people behind us were getting very impatient waiting for their orders. I was in no rush so it wasn't a problem for me but it didn't seem like they were making customers a priority today. My friends didn't totally love the cold brew. I recommend the latte though! Try it out for yourself, hopefully you are not in a rush when you go. A great place in Newport if you want a unique drink experience. Kaffeology is a great place for sweets and snacks, but what they're really known for is their designer milkshakes. My friends and I were coming back from mansion touring in Newport and decided to all split one milkshake. We got the salted pretzel milkshake, which was the perfect blend of caramel, ice cream, and salt. Topped with a brownie and a Twix bar, this was a very sweet treat. I am generally not a sweets person so splitting it with 4 other people was the perfect amount. I honestly really enjoyed the drink and it was a fun time sharing with friends. There's not a ton of seating in Kaffeology, but if it's a warm summer day you can definitely take your drinks outside. Overall, a great place for some very unique sweets! read more

I was in Newport for a fishing trip. Before starting back, I found this interesting dessert place in Yelp. Milkshake seems to be their speciality. They have 4 instagram worthy shakes. I went for The Pacino. It had expresso shake and a small cannoli on the top. I would say it was ok. It was smaller than I thought. I would say this review is a 3.5 star rounded upwards to 4 star. I really wanted to like this place, especially after reading the reviews, but I was very disappointed. When I initially walked in at 4:00pm, I thought the place was closing. Many of the lights were off and the bakery cases were all empty. We walked out assuming they were trying to close up. Then I saw the store hours and it said they were open until 9pm. The other coffee shops were closed so we figured we would try it. My husband and I decided that we would split a panini because we were too early for dinner and too late for lunch. The panini was this super tiny sandwich that was super squished. We were rather disappointed. It definitely wasn't worth the $7.50 that we paid for it. I also did not know there were milkshakes on the menu. I recalled that people raved about them in their reviews, but nowhere would I have realized I could order them. The coffee was dark and we needed more cream (which she poured directly from the stop and shop half and half container) you can put your own sugar in but no truvia like sugars. I didn't like my experience there at all. To be fair the coffee is good but the breakfast sandwich is a "Meh". My husband liked his Chocolate croissant which I took a bite from and was good. But they are disorganized even if you order online still your order can be messed up and switched with somebody else's order. I did see people waiting there forever for their orders so it is not only us. I had to get in the line twice to get my order sorted out and the separation between the line to order and the pick up area is just horrible. I hope they fix that problem. I know this is a hard times for everybody but also we need to be aware of the COVID-19 measurements for everyone's safety. Plus the staff is not very friendly or experienced on how to handle the ordering process. Will update my review later if I see improvement. read more

Kaffeology is my go to place for amazing coffee and delicious food! Their breakfast sandwiches are the best in Newport. My favorite drink is the Rhody which is incredible but every drink I've tried has been excellent, some of my other faves are the Mint Mocha, the Milky Way and Lavender white mocha latte. I also come here for lunch all the time because it's convenient and very good! You can't go wrong with any of their sandwiches. And if you have room then I highly recommend their milkshakes as well! They are the best I've ever had! I've tried almost all of them and they've all been delicious! Their prices are very reasonable as well. And what really keeps me coming back is the great service! Everyone who works there is very nice and really tries hard to make it a pleasant experience every time no matter how busy they are! The owner Andreea especially is the best! She really goes above and beyond and she couldn't be a nicer person and great business owner! We need more small businesses like Kaffeology in Newport. BEST CAFE SHOP IN NEWPORT!! This is the only cafe I knew in the area that offered "crazy" shakes and once I found out about it I knew I had to check it out! It is located right next to Ben and Jerry's on Thames and almost right across from The Red Parrot. As soon as you walk in you get this very relaxing vibe to it. It's got these old fashioned light bulbs everywhere, a small library to grab a book to read with your drink/sandwich and very intriguing art displayed around the walls. I ordered the S'mores milkshake 5 minutes into walking in and finished it after 2 lol the presentation of the milkshake was mouthwatering and also too good to drink but I did anyway lol the owner Andrea is very sweet and pleasant and gave the cafe a home-y feel to it. Me and my boyfriend found Kaffeology while stopping in Rhode Island on our way home from Cape Cod! I ordered the Pacino. It was so good! Everything about it was good except the price. It was $12. A little steep if you ask me, but for a one time stop it was definitely worth it. My only complaint is that when I ordered the drink the girl huffed and puffed because it takes a bit of time to make. It was slightly rude but she could of just been having an off day. The place is very stylish, with enough seating for maybe 10 people inside (tables come in 2's). Parking is annoying in the area though but we luckily found 15 minute parking on the side of the parking strip. I would recommend this for someone to try at least once while in the area! read more

My father said their house blend was the best coffee he's ever had(he didn't even need to add sugar, he always adds sugar).
