This place is very authentic Japanese food. Love the Battera dish. Test very good and remind part of my area seasoning. I went back again with my husband and he enjoyed as well.

It was great I liked Kami nabe and sushi Better make reservations I will come back again

A restaurant where you can enjoy authentic Japanese food. The seasoning is perfectly balanced, everything tastes amazing. The interior is clean and the overall experience is wonderful.

I would rather not to leave this review simply because I want this restaurant to be my own hidden gem. The monk fish liver and fried tuna balls are so good I will dream about them. I live an hour drive away from this place and I will definitely come back for them.

We've lived near this little gem of a restaurant for many years. This place is tiny - it probably can comfortably hold about a dozen or so guests. It's a mom and pop operation. The "mom" is so cute...Quickly walking about to take orders, deliver drinks, and always with friendly smiling eyes. They're wearing masks - we can assume those smiling eyes reflect a smiling face! Happy to support this local business. It took a craving for a bento box lunch to actually try this restaurant. Since we we were getting lunch, we decided to make dinner reservations. That was a great decision! Dinner was delicious! Only a few photos are posted. The chutoro melted in your mouth. The pumpkin braised in dashi was tender and sweet. The ankimo was cooked just right. The sake aged in cedar barrels was a perfect compliment. My only regret - not having enough room to try more dishes. Looking forward to our next experience! Side note- the bento box we ordered for lunch was delicious! No photos available.

Vibe: Most authentic Japanese style I've been to in LA. It's a homy tiny restaurant running by a Japanese old couple. Food: We went here for their chirashi bowl. It's the most authentic one I have had in LA. Price is affordable for a normal dinner and the fishes are very fresh. Love the octopus! - Dining in - Dinner - $30-$40 per person

Small mom/pop operated store reopened after lockdown. Hours change, menu changed as now they offers take out only. Taste is still superior than most Japanese restaurants nearby and the box items change from time to time. You get a lot of items in box and they all taste good. Need to support small local business!!

a lovely mom & pop shop run by two sweetest people. the ambiance is cozy and intimate, and the food is some of the best japanese food i've ever had. thank you :)

When we arrived luckily there was no wait and were sat immediately. Luckily it was only a couple moments before a party of maybe 12 arrived behind us for dinner. Our host and server were helpful and efficient. We quickly scanned through their menu and decided on their combos (pork cutlet and tempura) Our trays of paradise quickly arrived and looked beautiful! ( see attached for reference ) i loved the balanced presentation and blend of flavors. Each tray had some miso, a 4 bite California roll, some rice, soba noodles, broth, wasabi and ginger. Mine came with some dipping sauce for the tempura. Considering the amount of food I was very satisfied. The tempura was gorgeously crafted with semi thin crisped batter, and a decent amount portioned. I was mostly amazed by my girlfriends pork plate. Their crisp cutlet had beautifully made with an easy crunchy exterior and soft tender pork savory to taste. All elements complimented each other perfectly. Their soba was also good quality and a nice touch to an already balanced dinner. While I was exactly stuffed after dinner, i was still impressed with their entree presentation, quality of food, calming ambiance and great service.

It's also not the type of place where they will check-in on you or refill your water. You have to yell out. Big parking lot with lots of stores to shop around too.

Note that all of the soba toppings are priced separately, which can make the dish a bit expensive. That said, we added shrimp and scallop tempura, and it was absolutely delicious. My husband also ordered a pork cutlet bowl, and we shared a sashimi plate with scallop, cod, salmon, and two types of tuna. Everything was incredibly fresh and delicious. We also shared the jidori egg and seaweed salad. Out of everything we ordered, my favorites were definitely the sashimi, the shrimp and scallop tempura, and the jidori egg. The avocado and cream cheese tag teamed into a creamy coating on the noodles with a tang from the cheese and a richness from the avocado. The onion and bacon added some necessary contrast, crunch, and meatiness to the meal. The noodle texture is excellent with a nice snap. Unfortunately, it does reach a point where the cheese becomes too rich to consume and I found myself requiring breaks before resuming. It was pretty busy on a Sunday evening, but after about a 5-minute wait for a table to be cleaned, we were seated. The space had a lively, casual vibe -- definitely a popular spot for dinner. I love seafood, but I also really wanted to try the katsu, so even though I'm not a big eater, I went with Combo D... which was huge. Honestly, I think it could easily feed two people. The side soup and bread came out almost immediately. The soup was simple but nice with a bit of pepper, and the bread was so good -- warm, soft, and buttery (I had to pace myself knowing what was coming). The pasta was delicious -- the clams weren't overly "clammy" (lol), and the cream sauce was light and not too heavy. The katsu was crispy and satisfying, and the salad added a nice, refreshing balance. Everything worked really well together. I ended up taking a good portion home, and even reheated, it was still just as good! Overall, a great spot with generous portions and solid food.
