This specialty pet store is located right next to Trader Joe's in 5 Point Plaza. Staff are nice and welcoming. I took a photo of the vet services they offer. Almost half a year later from my previous review, and this place holds such a special place in my heart now. Since coming here, my dog, Dory, and I, have met even more incredible hoomans. I cannot find enough words to describe the compassion and kindness of the people who work here. I wish the world could have more beautiful souls like Jamie, Marissa, Ashlee, and Robert. It's been four years since my last review, everything I've said before is still very true. I believe in their products and trust them. I've fed my dog kahoot brand and the other brands offered since I first discovered this company. It really does feel like the whole foods for dogs. I often check the ingredients of the food and it looks clean. I've had an incident where I brought something new for my dog to try but she didn't like it, kahoots kindly took it back and gave me a refund. My dog is now 10.5 years old and she finally had her first ever dental cleaning. I took her in for the very first time last month for a cleaning and luckily for me, she was taken in right away. The big reason for that was because she was very good about it and I guess her tar wasn't that bad! I'm proud to say her teeth wasn't too bad! I plan to take her in for cleaning at this location from now on. I forgot the price but it was somewhere around 60 for a clean. I highly recommend kahoots for anything you'll need from products to food. read more

I've never shopped here but did go for my dog's vaccinations last month. I usually take him to the Animal Discount Clinic but they've been closed due to COVID. I was desperate to get his vaccines but all the vets I checked had ridiculously long wait times or were pricey. Luckily, I saw a flyer for Kahoots' vaccination days (once a month at 2pm). No appointment necessary, all I had to do was fill some paperwork & pick which vaccines or a bundle. I chose the adult dog package since he was long overdo. Rabies, Bordatella, and DAPPV for $72. The process was so easy (paperwork, pay, get in line, shots, and done). The nurse & vet handled my biscuit with great care. The staff in front were friendly too. read more

I feed my puppy Steve's raw food and I was buying it on Amazon for $35 a bag. I stumbled into this store on my way to Trader Joe's, and you can buy a huge box of frozen Steve's food for $68. The single bag from Amazon seemed to last 10 days and this one from Kahoots, lasted over a month. My dog absolutely loves it, her coat is shiny and beautiful, and she poops one or two logs a day! This dog food is super expensive but it's worth every penny, unless you like picking up dog poop all day. I will never switch brands! Recently we had a flea problem and a gentleman at the store recommended some flea pills. They cleared her up in one day thank God, and saved me from seeing the stupid vet. Came for the puppy costume contest!! Oh my gosh, it was so cute! The pet store was filled with high quality animal food! Not that junk food sold at every Petco and PetSamart. The staff were super nice and friendly. I bought a couple higher quality bags of cat food, on sale. I bought some can food and dog food. I spent a lot of money but I felt good about what I was buying for my babies. read more

She mentioned that I don't "park my bike" anywhere near the store (which I wasn't going to do). THIS IS THE PLACE! The staff is very welcoming and knowledgable. Even if they do not know they will not pass a costumer off to another employee if it's unnecessary. They try to accumulate a ton of information on the costumers question before giving up on helping them. But no fear, all the employees bring their own knowledge to the table so you will be helped in any way you need. When I go to Petsmart sometimes the employees have no idea what I am talking about and are very unhelpful. It's bizarre because I will be talking about a common need and they have no idea. BUT NOT AT KAHOOTS! This is my favorite pet store. I go here for extremely healthy canned cat food options, grain free products in which Kahoots has their own brand name, and they have animal tags and cute collars. We found our new favorite pet supply store!! My husband and I had stopped by on Saturday 5/30 just to check it out. We asked if they carried Victor dog food. I was informed they had just ordered some and to call Tuesday to see what they had received. I called Tuesday 6/2 to see if the shipment had arrived. The woman on the phone let me know it hadn't arrived, but that she would call me when it does. SHE WOULD CALL ME?!?! This is customer service at its absolute best!! Needless to say my husband, Dakota (our pup), and myself went to the store today to see check it out. They saved the bags for us to get there to see which one we wanted. THEY SAVED THE BAGS?!?! I like that the chain hires knowledgable employees rather than just a young kid looking for a job...it makes all the difference when it comes to caring for your pet. This store is located in the 5 Points Plaza with plenty of parking available. Lots of great shopping at this plaza which makes it even more convenient if you have several errands to run. The one and only thing that I don't like is that there is a very limited selection of pet food. I love this store! Its spacious but not insanely big like a Petco or Petsmart. So we walk in and we see the wall of all these matching collars, harnesses and leashes!!!! So many different types and cute designs!!! One if the clerks came up to us and she was super nice. She asked us if we'd like a sample of puppy food we said hell yea. She gave us two bags. Good sized bags of doggy food. One was chicken and the other Lamb. Puppy liked the lamb better. We scale the store and they have ALOT of stuff for your pets, you want to buy the whole store! All these scobby snacks its crazy. They have pets to buy as well. Midget hamsters (their term) One was so cute he kept drinking and drinking and drinking. I left him alone for 5 minutes and came back and guess what he was still drinking!!!! Too funny. You can buy guinea pigs ,rabbits and birds. Lots of toys as well. This review is long over due and if 10 stars were an option, it would be a 12. Allow me to present with my own experiences here. We've been coming here for a couple of years to purchase dog supplies until I had an itch and decided to scratch it.. A few months ago, I went in looking for a good "at home" type of companion- either a bird or rat. They were able to help guide me in the right direction by answering my questions and filling in the gaps. I was encouraged to spend time with the companion animals there to get to know their personalities as well as see how they took to me. Kahoots doesn't always have rats in stock, as they do not believe in anything less than trusty and responsible breeders and those are hard to come by, so you can imagine how excited I was to walk inside (randomly) and see some healthy looking rat boys just waiting to be scooped up by me! The ladies there helped in every way they could to make it a smooth transition for both myself and the rats. And it's been a great experience thus far with much peace of mind, thanks to them. All of the employees do a phenomenal job of handling the animals, socializing them, recognizing if they have any issues, and treating them. IF you want an animal that has been properly socialized and given the attention and connection that these animals crave, and deserve then come here. It is clear that this is not a feed store and that their purpose here is to prepare these animals for loving relationships. As an avid pet owner, the pet's health and interaction, is paramount to me. If you don't care as much for that aspect of owning a pet, then go elsewhere for it, where they are simply maintained. This (Kahoots) is a specialty store. As a fairly secure (with myself) individual, I can really appreciate that the humans here take the time to ask the right questions of the people purchasing the animals. Their focus is on the health, wellbeing, and over all prosperity of the pets. I find that rare to come by. All questions are appropriate and directly related to the animal. I wish more places knew half the stuff that these galls know and understand about their animals. I felt better about the purchase that I was making since I was essentially purchasing a 'relationship' with a new companion. Somebody else had mentioned that Kahoots use their small cardboard boxes for transportation...and they did the same thing for me. It was perfect! I believe in being resourceful; the rats were safe and presentation didn't matter to any of us (certainly not to the rats). Money can be better spent on the animals and other products. I used the box as a short term hide-away for the rats, once we got home. They loved it and it served its purpose 3x's over. Cathy is the rat whisperer- as a long time owner of rats (and many of them), amongst other pets, she cares deeply for all of the animals. Her compassion and quality of care is not paralleled by any other "Petsmart", Petco, or other pet store employee that I've ever met, and I worked at Petco for years. I, myself advocate for animals and I align with those who do so as well. She goes above and beyond by doing her job and so much more for these animals. Michelle is also worth mentioning as rat lover/ nanny. She is another one with a seemingly innate passion for these handheld critters. Always helpful in any way possible, she will be happy to find you answers to questions if she doesn't already have them, is very kind, and definitely goes the extra mile to give a warm welcome and care to you and your loved ones. These ladies (girl power) single handedly keep up this store and its merchandise while giving quality time and care to each of the pets in it. All of the staff is great and willing to help. I couldn't be more grateful to live locally and have the type of support they offer. read more

A week or so ago, my dad along, with my siblings and I, were thinking of the perfect gift to give to my mom for her birthday. I realized that she loved birds, and quickly suggested that we buy her one. There is a Kahoots Pet Store really close to where I live, so we traveled over to it and purchased an eight month Green Cheek Conure that my mom named Petey. The store environment itself is in immaculate condition. It is organized, clean, and everything is put in order to the last degree. The employees there are truly something special. They all know about all the animals they sell. Needless to say, they know what they are doing. They are very helpful, kind, and love their animals as if the animals were their own flesh and blood. The prices at the pet store are neither cheap nor expensive, but right in the middle. The bird what was purchased by my family and me was $400, which is an average price for a Green Cheek Conure. The prices for animal food and equipment are also average. Although the prices are not the best, they make up for it with excellent product quality, a great and clean environment, and very kind and loving customer service.
