We ordered our son the teriyaki chicken skewers and they were OK. They were a little bit overcooked and we cannot taste any teriyaki flavoring and I don't think I'll get them again. The pho with dumplings was also very good, but could've used more dumplings inside of it. The food was prepared well, was hot, and was very flavorful. Just delicious. We had the chicken pho and duck noodle soup. Of course, one can't go wrong with chicken pho. Complex and flavorful. The duck was great. Be prepared to take the duck out of the broth, shred it off the bone and return it to the soup. It was cooked perfectly. There were some intensely meaty mushrooms in it. Very good. I got winter melon tea to drink, and it was sweet and good. It tasted caramel-y, I guess from taro. My meal partner hadn't had pho before, and our waitress was happy to explain what to do. And one thing that warmed my heart is that at a table next to us with children, she was able to accommodate the requests of the children. They wanted some things to be plain, and she even offered some ice cubes to cool down their soup for them. It was very sweet. So this place is casual and warm and very kid friendly. Love it. My wife, the Vermicelli expert, judged D4 Vermicelli Bowl with chicken as "the best she has ever had!" I had the B5 Bao with 1 pork, 1 Chicken and 1 Shrimp. I have been wanting to try these little soft sweet tacos. Surprised me... I liked the shrimp the best. We had an order of the A3-shrimp and pork, and the A6-grilled pork, spring roll appetizers. The grilled pork spring rolls were outstanding. Oh Yeah.. my wife's Vermicelli came with a big bowl of that offensive fish sauce. Very happy to hear that a new Vietnamese restaurant opened up in downtown Tulsa. The owners are from the same family that used to own Viet Huong. They have indoor seating, a bar area, and patio seating outside, making this place quite spacious. Servers were very friendly and quick. We were impressed by the number of options available in their large menu, offering authentic Vietnamese dishes and even a vegetarian section. For appetizers, we had their delicious steamed dumplings which came with a sweet flavored soy sauce. We then shared their Hu Tieu Nam Vang Dry Noodles with broth on the side. The glass noodles used were a little plain, but with added hoisin sauce and sriracha sauce, the taste greatly improved. Finally, we tried their Golden Milk Tea with Mixed Jelly, which had a yummy and refreshing sweet flavor that was perfect on a hot summer day. The photo was great good quality of meat wish there was more noodle but it was still delicious and flavor was good even with just the broth. Got the winter melon ice tea and was a little disappointed wasn't the best quality and just had a over syrup of melon flavor with the tea. The flat noodles stir fry & egg noodles stir fry were both disappointing: the flavors weren't absorbed by noodles or meat; chicken had dried out after being steamed, and most of the veggies were still crunchy. The vermicelli bowl didn't have cilantro listed in the description but we had told the waiter my friend didn't want cilantro on her bao but he didn't think to tell her that her choice had cilantro in it. So it tasted like soap to her. The restaurant is in a great place, looks good, but the ambiance was off The server didn't really care, but he did bring the food quickly. Located downtown so parking can be paid by app or meter. We got lucky and parked right across from the restaurant. Place is a good size. Service had been good the past 2 visits. Very clean! But please don't let that negativity transfer onto your next customers. Anyways, onto the food.... My husband got the beef pho, I didn't take a picture. It has a cinnamon/anise/beefy flavor. It has chewy rice noodles. If you are familiar with pad Thai, it has those same type of rice noodles but the pho noodles are thinner. It comes with beef broth that's been simmering for hours, meat that consists of brisket, round eye beef, beef meat balls, some other cuts of beef, white onions, green onions, cilantro/basil/bean sprouts/lime on the side to garnish. Delicious! But this broth is more on the sweeter side. You'll have to try it out for yourself. Everyone has their own preference on broth. So go and give it a try! We ordered the wings that had the fish sauce. So crispy and the sauce wasn't overwhelming! Sauce was like a sweet Thai chili sauce with fish sauce mixed. My favorite!! The fried rice is so worth the money!! We got the pork fried rice and wow!!! It's so freaking good! They give you so much meat in the fried rice, it's a meal on its own for sure. It has bean sprouts in it and eggs with green onions. No peas and carrots like your typical fried rice. Nice smoky flavor and not too greasy at all. Very tasty! read more
