I have been to Kajiken a couple of times since the time of this review, and I can say that this is one of the better places that will give you a bang for your buck in the Cap Hill area. I have only been here during the dinner hours (6 - 7PM) so I can't really say how it is during the lunch rush. Due to how close it is via the 2 line light rail, I haven't visited Kajiken via driving, so I can't really say definitively how the parking situation is. But looking at the restaurant exterior, I think the closest parking situation would be streetside near Cal Anderson park, which for sure will be difficult to find spots as anywhere in Cap Hill would be. From the light rail station, it is only a 10 minute walk at most, which is very accessible and great. Service is fast at the restaurant - even during a busy dinner rush, we were able to always get our food within 10 minutes of ordering. I have tried the Nikumori Aburasoba ($19) and the Homura Aburasoba ($19). They were both absolutely delicious! I think my first visit, I thought that the bowls were a bit small, but the more I ate it, the more filling it feels, and by the end, I felt comfortably full. These noodles are scrumptious, with a pleasing chew. Complimented by the savory and extremely flavorful sauce that clings nicely to the noodles, which is further enhanced by the creaminess of the egg yolk, give these bowls a very enjoyable flavor profile. I really liked the Nikumori bowl, as they are generous with the chashu slices and there is minced pork too! The pork is cooked perfectly - nice chew and meaty in texture, coated in the savory sauce and not too fatty to the point where you get overwhelmed eating it. I think it does lean a little bit pricey, but I guess that $17 - $20 is pretty much the standard for ramen nowadays in Seattle. But I think that Kajiken really hits the aburasoba cravings really well with their quantity and quality. I would come back to try their other options.

Loved all the dishes! The place was chill, not extremely busy, we only had a few min wait for 3 people. They were super quick bringing out the food too.

Second visit and still not disappointed. Each Aburasoba taste delicious but distinct. We have yet to find any menu item we didn't like. The chewiness of the soba is just perfect As the suggestion, the vinegar and chili oil are on point too. They are on the milder side so you can still enjoy the base flavor of the aburasoba sauces. Service is super fast too. It felt like we just ordered when our soba are ready. The only small drawback is that parking can be tricky around this neighborhood.

I came here just trying to catch up with a friend, but honestly? We both got distracted the second the food hit the table. The noodles were perfectly chewy, packed with flavor, and somehow got even better with every bite after mixing everything together.

Parking on Broadway can be a headache, especially on weekends, but i had no trouble finding street parking in the surrounding residential blocks during a weekday dinner time. The space itself is clean and well-designed with a comfortable waiting area for when the line gets long. The vibe is relaxed without being loud. There was no wait at 5:30 and i got seated right away! It started packing up around 6-6:30 :). Staff were warm, genuinely helpful, and patient as we took our time working through the menu. No hovering, no pressure. I went with the homura soba and it did not disappoint. The noodles were springy, chewy, and satisfying, and the ground pork and bamboo shoots were standouts. We also shared the chicken karaage with oroshi and the takoyaki, both solid. I also added a side of two-piece chashu pork for extra protein in my soba which was perfect, I'd do again in a heartbeat. The table condiments (chili oil, garlic flakes, sesame seeds, vinegar) are a nice touch for customizing your bowl, although i recommend being careful with how much you put in there as I got heavy-handed and it turned salty fast. Being right on Broadway also means plenty of dessert spots nearby to round out the meal. I went to salt n straw afterwards and ended the evening perfectly. I'm already eyeing the mushroom soba for my next visit.

Kajiken specializes in aburasoba, which for the uninitiated is like a ramen coated in a greasy sauce with toppings as opposed to a fatty broth. Went with some friends on a Saturday around 6PM and unlike the earlier reviews from when they just opened, there were plenty of tables available and no line. Agedashi Tofu (2.75/5): Really, really bland and the fry was a bit too short and there wasn't really a crisp at all. Homura Aburasoba (3/5): Noodles are solid enough and the fresh herbs are a nice touch. The ground pork was just okay though and generally the sauce was a bit too thin to really carry the flavor. Roast Beef Aburasoba (4/5): Surprisingly enjoyed this more than the signature. Roast beef is actually very tender and the yogurt adds a great bit of tang and creaminess on top of the seasoned egg yolk.

I've given dry ramen a try many times before and did not like it, but I was very pleasantly surprised by Kajiken! We ordered on an iPad and got seated after. It wasn't too crowded, especially compared to a lot of the restaurants in the area. I got the roast beef aburasoba. The sauce was incredible and had so much flavor and was so creamy and savory, especially when mixed in with the raw egg. The noodles were soft and paired nicely with the beef. I was so impressed and would definitely come back!

YUMMM! First time I've ever had this kind of dry ramen and it was SO GOOD!! I was surprised to see there was a short wait outside for a Wednesday dinner, but now I understand why. It's so worth the wait. Our server was kind, service was great, and food came out fast.

Kajiken was seriously amazing. I got the Homura aburosoba and it absolutely hit. I just got back from Japan recently and this dish can honestly compete with the real deal. It tasted legit and did not feel like a watered down version at all. The noodles were perfectly cooked with great texture and sauce coverage. Definitely keep the raw egg in there because it makes everything richer and smoother once you mix it all together. They also have vinegar and chili oil at the table and I highly recommend adding vinegar. It boosts the flavor and balances everything out so well. Service was shockingly fast, like blink and your food is already on the table fast. The vibes were also great. Big glass windows looking out at the park across the street made the space feel open and lively, which is a nice change from cramped noodle spots. Prices are very fair for how good the food is, especially considering the quality and portion size. This is an easy recommend and a place I would happily come back to again when craving aburasoba that actually tastes authentic.

I went on a rainy weekday around 8 pm and we got seated right away! I tried the minced pork ramen which came out less than 5 minutes after I ordered. The egg was cooked perfectly and I liked the noodle texture and thickness. The restaurant is well lit and there was a fair amount of seating. Service is fast and good.

This place blew my mind!!! The ramen bowls were sooo flavorful, not dry at all, and they had a lot of great looking options. We ordered the minced pork and roast beef bowls- both highly rated for good reason. I love how the roast beef ramen bowl came with a yogurt sauce. I also recommend sticking with the raw egg (if ur comfortable!) Each table has various sauces and toppings, like sesame seeds and chili oil, that you can customize your bowl with. The service was quick and friendly, as well. I'll definitely be coming back and I totally recommend!!

It was a refreshing experience to eat dry ramen instead of the normal soup ramen. We tried 4 different flavor and I enjoyed the spicy one the most. The beef one with white sauce and lots of green onion was interesting but the sauce was too thick for my liking. The ingredients seemed fresh. Service was quick and courteous. Parking on Friday night was super difficult, there is a little paid lot close to the shop so that can be an option.

While visiting Seattle, I came here for a quick cozy lunch. The seating and service were quick and attentive. While we were here, we ordered the number one bestselling Homura Aburasoba with chives, minced pork, bamboo shoots, curry powder, seaweed, and a bright egg yolk. These noodles were very chewy and well-balanced in terms of umami, acid, salt, and spice. The egg yolk adds a creamy texture to each bite too. We also tried the seasonal Unagi Aburasoba which was a light and delicate sweet and salty flavor. The Unagi and pickled radish were crunchy and flavor-packed. Absolutely recommend!

I ordered a miso ramen and my parents ordered the tonkatsu ramen. As someone from the Bay Area, I was so surprised by the richness of the ramen and it definitely beats some of my usual spots. The broth wasn't very salty or over complicated itself with a burst of spices, but highlighted the simplicity of a good ramen, tasting the long simmer of the pork.
