I am very picky when it comes down to my burgers. I requested medium rare and it was exactly what I ordered and it was delicious. Our infused drinks were beautiful and delicious as well. If you are into infused food this is the perfect place. It is perfect for all consumers because you can curate the level of experience you would like to have. You can go from micro dosing to smacked. Not all of the food and drinks are infused. When I went we were a very mix group. I had a true stoner who got everything infused and smoked while there. I had a person who had nothing infused and equally loved her chicken sandwich. I had a friend who micro dosed and only had an infused drink. I myself had everything infused. All around the food is good. Infused or not in addition the infused food does not taste dank. There are several food options on the menu. Even the watermelon margarita was to die for. Kakes NYC deserves 420 stars! (See what I did there?) From the start they are very professional and have a secure setup with security; which you will need sign the wavier and get padded down. Women will have their purses checked as well. They allow you to bring your own flower so you don't have to buy it there. When you first walk in you get a night room with tables and chairs. The back section is more like a "garden room" with chairs, benches, tables, etc. There is even a DJ spinnin' a wide mix of rap and freestyle. No matter where you sit you'll have your very own "weed sommelier". Our server (believe her name was Natasha) was awesome! Very friendly, professional, and knew her stuff. Making suggestions, recommendations, and parings on all of the food and drinks. Now on to the grub! You can get infused and non-infused. No matter what. It is off the hook! Way above par, not what I was expecting! The ginger wings (non-infused) were cooked perfectly! Crispy but still tender and the sauce was so amazingly sticky and delicious. I almost didn't want to share! The pretzels and beer cheese (infused) was a reminder of something you'd get at a pub or brewery only with weed! The pretzels seemed to be fried and were crispy with a soft dough center. The cheese dip was on point. You couldn't taste any of the infusion. It was my first time going to a place that had infused food. Don't get me wrong, this place is really nice. I came here for my birthday, and when you first arrive someone lets you know about how much THC is in the infused foods, what menu has non THC, and just a good introduction the restauraunt. The food with THC was overly expensive and none of my friends were buzzed from it, even though it tasted good. The only thing that gave us a little buzz were the desserts. They've set up a space that is ideal for those that want to get buzzed, those that don't and it's a private members only lounge so when you come in you know what to expect. They offer day passes . They have both infused and non infused food. Also have a resident roller who sits center stage and rolls cigars filled with weed. They have an outdoor smoking lounge with a retractable roof. The service from the doorman to our waitress was a plus no complaints. So this is not a meal where you are going to feel a strong effect, if any. So am a bit late..... well very late on writing this review.. so am hoping there still a wonder place to visit.. I went to Kakes with another couple. Wanted to try edible CBD don't tell no body . First, they do charge and entrance fee ( does not go towards your meal) $25 per person.. not my favorite thing to do, but I said why not, I'll try this place out. When you get there you have to register and submit your license, a bit annoying but understandable since everyone should be of legal age and for safety reasons. The host that registered us was great. He was super friendly and informative.. I was a little worried because I recall parting back in my day ( don't ask how old I am ) and people were able to smoke in the club... hated coming out smelling like an ashtray. Host told me not to worry they have a great rental system. He was not lying.. He walked us inside and explained the whole place to us. How to air circulation worked and the break down with the food and the CBD content in the dessert. The place was nicely decorated and the dessert were beautifully displayed.. He took us to our sits, which was outside, at the back of the restaurant.. well inside outside, it has a retracting glass roof which was cool.. The space was very cool, gave me grown forks lounge vibes.. they played really good music and there was a roller if you wanted to consume CBD the old fashion way . Upon arrival, I was greeted warmly at the door. The ambiance is that of an old school, high end speak-easy. Dimly lit with open seating. About once an hour they opened the retractable roof to let the smoke out. Their air filtration system must be on point, because there isn't a heavy lingering cannabis fog. This is a super late review but a review that must be done better late than never. I joined for a company outing and was impressed by the professionalism, ambience, and food. There is a bouncer in the front to ensure everyone's safety. The hostess greets and seats you. The front portion is more a chill lounge/bar vibe where you can enjoy a conversation. The back portion has a dj in a huge room with couch seatings in the middle for a big group (we were the big group that night). The food had a nice gourmet like presentation and more importantly tasted delicious! The drinks presentation was fun! This is one of my favorite spots I go in New York. Every time I come up and visit. The customer service is amazing. It gets very busy especially on the weekend. I typically do the late dinner slot and stay till they close. The food is amazing! I have been at least 3-4 times and they have not missed a beat yet. My go to is the Mac and cheese. My friends had the burger and vegan tacos and I even tried the guacamole which was amazing! While the drinks don't have alcohol in them, they are delicious! You walk into this place and it is heavily regulated to make sure you are over 21 and signed the waivers. Go past it and you have plenty of seating and tables available to eat. Walk some more and there is a beautiful oasis that reminds you of a backyard (but indoors-- the roof is open in the summer). There is a pre made roller. I came here for a friends 23rd birthday, and it was good, the music was good and so were the people. But just let me tell you will be spending near $100 and no more than $50 on your food. It was all thc infused by like 15-20mgs you can ask the waiters as they are very knowledgeable on the dosages. .I got the vegan tacos which were good the tofu inside was cooked pretty good I enjoyed it. Sad part was it was the only vegan/vegetarian thing on the menu, but I appreciate the representation & I would recommend it to my other vegan/vegetarian friends.perhaps it would be better with the guac but I wouldnt know because I'm allergic. My other friends got the burgers and fries but they also offer a side of chips and a salad. The fries were like truffle Parmesan - I've never had that before but I do always appreciate a good fry & it was good. We came here before and didn't enjoy the experience but wanted to give it another chance given the owner was cool and so was the staff. The Mac and cheese was good. The brownie was also good. We also really enjoyed the two drinks I had - watermelon lemonade and dragon fruit drink. My girl had the lemonade and that was awesome as well. We just treat the drinks here like drinks at liquor bar. From that point of view it's cheaper but not as strong. The food is pricy which is probably due to the cost of THC for the food. Next day addition: after leaving the restaurant we thought we would eventually get buzzed. That wasn't the case for us. Maybe the THC is too weak. Regardless the pain here is that you either leave hating how much you spent or regret that you never even got buzzed even after waiting hours to see if it eventually hits. I loved the ambience and the staff, the Energy was AMAZING for the 420 Brunch. Everything in there catches your eyes! I had the Infused Dragon Fruit Mojito and it was very pretty, cool and refreshing, I didn't quite get infusion of it. The chefs burger was cooked properly but it was a bit bland, and so were the Parmesan Fries. Other than that I'm glad I got to experience it. I thought I was being punked. Came here to celebrate a birthday and was excited at the idea of experiencing an infused menu. They tell you upfront that the food has a very low dosage and the desserts will pack more of a punch. 1st glance at the menu and the entire table bust out laughing. $35 for 6 wings, $35 for 3 extremely  small empanadas, $40 for calamari and only the dipping sauce is infused.  $50 for a cheeseburger (not sure which component was infused), $70 for a small fillet of salmon on a bed of puree and vegtables, and $70 for short ribs INSANE I will say some of the items like the wings,  short ribs, and mac n cheese had good flavors but not enough to remotely justify the prices. Only non alcoholic beverage options that are supposedly infused..basically $15 for a small glass of juice. Desserts....$50 for mini cakes.. The vibe is nice and the set up in the back is cool but I doubt I would ever come back. We only left high because we rolled up at the table and smoked throughout the meal. Our party of 4 made a reservation for a Saturday @ 4pm. We were greeted and told to fill out a form via QR code basically agreeing and consenting to the type of establishment you are about to enter. The QR code was on the left side of the wall where ppl also had to line up before entering. One of the co-founders/host came and gave us a nice introduction on what to expect and how things worked in regard to menu and also gave us a nice little tour of establishment. It was nicely decorated clean and the layout was nice. We chose to sit in the outdoor area which can also be covered. It was chill and relaxing... we ordered food and drinks some non-infused and some infused. Menu was kind of pricey but considering it's a cannabis establishment and you are paying for the Experience it's not too bad... You can bring your own weed and or buy there already rolled too if you choose. They had a live DJ which was great too. There is 2 bathrooms yet one was out of order, the other didn't lock. I had the shrimp po'boy with potato chips and it was good. I just would have put it on a potato roll like if it were a lobster roll instead of Italian bread. The truffle fries were fresh and delish and the dulce de Leche cake was sooo good! My Special K drink was tasty too! Empanadas were really good and fresh yet really small.
