Came here to try out their brunch. This use to be Toasted Barrel. The service was good and the ambiance was a bit loud but tolerable. We tried out their empanadas which were; - spicy beef (4/5) - spicy chicken (4/5) - spinach (3/5) Also had the Barbacoa omelette (4/5) And their eggs Benedict (3/5). Was here for lunch on a Friday. The lunch menu here is a legitimate deal, and the service is great. I had the tacos pastor which were great.

The restaurant is situated near the 15 freeway, it's hard to overlook and is an ideal spot to visit while passing through Corona to enjoy genuine Mexican cuisine at Kalaveras. The location is pleasant, tidy, and has welcoming employees. Everyone, including the waitress, was extremely kind. The food tastes great, is well presented, has good flavor, and comes in a good portion. My only recommendation is to lower the music volume in the restaurant area. It can be difficult to talk over loud music, so turn it up in the bar area instead. Keep it quieter on the restaurant side. The drinks also took 45 minutes to arrive at our table, even though it wasn't crowded on a Monday at 6pm. I didn't understand why they took so long, and it made me unhappy. All other aspects were satisfactory, once more excellent service, pleasant employees, and an exceptionally tidy establishment where everyone ensures customer satisfaction. Upside - Walked in and hostess seated us right away dispute being packed inside I immediately was seated Downside- I was seated right in the front near the hostess it was just a strange spot next to the walkway. Menu looked large but not that many dishes to choose from. I ordered the carnitas plate $26. It was pretty tasty it was a layer of black beans, rice and carnitas. Also ordered the 3 enchiladas. They were ok. Fun loud atmosphere hit me in the mood to drink n dance but it was just busy n loud n I think the worst part was our table location and the tiny table I had to stack my tortilla plate and the table menu to make room for chips and my drink. Went to brunch, used to be good. No more bottomless mimosas which was fine but if you think you're going for anything bottomless including food. You're going to be so dissatisfied. We got there at noon and just about every food tray was empty, had to track down the taco guy in the kitchen. It appeared a complete disaster of management and cutting corners on quality of food and again not much available to eat. Salad bar was embarrassing and scary to even consider eating. Once I found the taco guy they had means to make homemade tortilla's but instead used store bought right out of the package, the carnitas taco meat was good, that was really it besides our server. Nothing about the experience of their brunch was worth mentioning. If you do go, suggest ordering off the menu which is an option. read more

We've been here for brunch many times (probably over 10). This was our first visit where the mimosas were no longer bottomless, which was fine since brunch was cheaper. What really disappointed us was the price of the champagne. We were charged $35 for a bottle, and the price was not listed or told to us. That feels very overpriced. Most nearby brunch places charge $15-$25, and we just paid $15 for a bottle in Newport last weekend. Depoca Madre, Lazy Dog, Martiniz, Black Stone at Dos Lagos all have champagne bottles less than $35. Because of the high price of a champagne bottle we won't be coming back. read more

They sat us directly next to the band and I still can't hear properly in my left ear. It's been about a week. Took a very long time with our drinks and to take our order noticed she was giving everyone else their drinks fairly quickly, especially people that ordered after us. When I pulled up the parking lot was full .. this is usual at all of their locations that I've been to.. They do have 2 handicap parking spots up front if you need them . When I walked in the hostess that greeted me was great so sweet . I chose to sit at the bar and the bartender was busy the entire time and really did his best to keep up. Of course I ordered their Barbacoa but I also took a photo of my neighbor's dish which looked great . I don't think the photos do the food justice because of the sun lighting on the bar side. Ordered a to go order for my mother .. shrimp enchiladas w verde sauce as a sub which is a mild sauce since she can't handle any heat in her food. Overall great Sunday afternoon linner. The resturant in long beach is night and day from the one in Corona. I prefer the long beach location, it's a lot quieter to carry a conversation, the service is way much better and the music isn't on full blast. The Corona location the music is so loud there is no way to carry a conversation . The service for food is slow, and took for ever to pay my bill. We came for my Birthday which happened to land on a Tuesday. This meant Taco Tuesday .99 cent tacos! For the price the tacos are justified. I think it would help if they kept the burners for the food on at all times because my meat was on the colder side. Overall we had a good experience. Our server Lilly (Soleile I think) was so lovely. She took care of our table and was very attentive, especially since we had our two little ones with us. The decor win the place is black with lots of pop of color to it. The LED lights they have all around are a great touch. This is a great place to go for good Latin pop music and to have great drinks.
