We love the Burbank location and we're so excited to check out this location since it's a little closer to home- I will say that it was rough and we got the wrong drinks multiple times BUT it was opening week and the staff was working soo sooo sooo hard trying to attend to everyone especially with how busy they were. They were super sweet, friendly, and accommodating with everything. I know this place will succeed just like the rest of the locations so be easy and understanding with them. Food is always a hit! I can not stress this review enough. The food is decent and not much of a problem, it's the damn service. The servers are so focused on fonding/flirting with men for a tip when they could just be a damn girls girl and receive a tip too. They're choosy and very contradicting. The manager is also an airhead, he said they reserve seat for big games but the people who reserve seats get whatever seats the places chooses for them so why couldn't we get a seat closer to the TVs? Experience was great! Food and drinks were amazing! Had the quesobirria and it was so delicious. The one thing that was really unpleasant was the tortilla chips, and churros. Both had a heavy aftertaste of bad oil- that bitter aftertaste of oil that's been overused was very prominent in both the chips and churro. Pass on both of those. read more

Review for Kalaveras Northridge Kalaveras in Northridge is rotten to the core. First off, don't ever bring half the food to a table -- that's basic service 101. And when a customer raises a concern, responding with "I know, I know" is not only dismissive, it shows you don't actually know how to run a restaurant. Whether this is your first restaurant or you've been in the industry for 20 years (as you claim), standards are standards. Excuses don't cut it. Our server was amazing -- she's the only reason this review isn't one star. But the so-called owner/manager "Angel" completely ruined the experience. At the end of the meal, the check was $75. I paid with a $100 bill, and he returned a $20 bill and a $5 bill as change. Common sense says you break the $20 so the customer has room to tip properly. His excuse? "We don't think about things like that." That either undercuts your staff's ability to make money, or suggests you expect me to leave a flat $20 tip for mediocre service and fair, institutional-quality food. To make matters worse, Angel thought it was okay to grab me by the shoulder -- completely inappropriate and unprofessional. Bottom line: two stars, and that's generous -- one of them goes solely to our server. The rest was lost because of a manager/owner who clearly has no respect for customers, staff, or the standards of hospitality. Highly concerned that this manager is going to retaliate after this review. As he knows he was wrong. I highly suggest that you look at your other reviews and try to listen to what the customers are saying so early in your game. Make an effort to read the reviews to your staff for your pre-shift and adjust the high concern quality of food and labor concerns. Celebrating my bestie here at the location, food was good. Drinks were fair nothing special. On a Friday night the ambiance was good not to noisy back ground music was good had me moving while enjoying my dinner. The only complaint I have is the wait time for drinks to arrive, food to ordered & brought to the table. Update on the review, I checked my credit card statement and realized that they had forged the tip amount on the bill! Even after I had expressed to one of the persons in charge why I was leaving the tip amount that I was leaving. I'm not sure if this waitress girl was upset of the tip amount or thought it might've been funny to forge a higher tip amount than the one I had left. I immediately called and asked for a manager and emailed their corporate admin office! ((ADMIN OFFICE DIDNT EVEN BOTHER TO REPLY)) The manager did mention that that higher tip amount was entered onto their system and that is when I asked to see the receipt that I had signed. It's unbelievable how this restaurant being new to this location can be doing forgery/ crime just because they're unhappy with what their poor service gave them. BE CAREFUL DINING HERE AND CHECK YOUR BANK STATEMENT DAYS AFTER THE TIP HAS BEEN REFLECTED!!!!!! The waitress here was a young girl with black hair for sure in her mid 20s early 30s. We go to Kalaveras in Burbank all the time and the food and service is always great. This is your grand opening week so I can see how the entire team was working hard to make things happen. We always sit at the bar and ordered our drinks. The young man that attended to us made our first drink but made the wrong drinks. But the other gentleman in the white shirt made us the right drinks after. My experience was great for a new location but the first 3 months are always hard on any business. Especially if the hiring is difficult. All I can say and hope that the owners and the GM at this location dont forget at the end of the day how hard these individuals are working to make it run and make it shine. First time at Kalaveras and what a great experience. We decided to check out their happy hour and I have no regrets. We had to try almost everything on their happy hour menu and everything was superb in my opinion. We got an order of quésabirria tacos , asada fries, chicken wings, taquitos dorados de papa, along with a guava slushi margarita and a strawberry one. The staff is super friendly and accomodating. The food was delicious, the ambiance was spot on, very relaxing, and spotless clean. The entire staff who served us was very pleasant and like we say in Spanish a todo dar. Lol Will definitely come back. Their drinks are fire too. Bomb like the younger generation would say. I got sang happy birthday by the staff. They checked up on us often. We came with a big party of about 12 of us. The food and drinks came out fairly fast. The food had no flavor. 10/12 of us didn't like the food. Our bill was slightly off of $1000 and they tried to add things we didn't order like if we wouldn't notice. They had music so that was probably the only nice thing.
