    Tacos Gobernador
    Mike B.

As stated prior, I'm typically not a one and done type reviewer, but exceptions can, and will be made... First off, I thought i just got off a cruise ship in Ensenada!!! Lively joint, tons of decorations, musica blasting, whistles blowing, etc. Looking good... Promptly seated and greeted by staff. Drink orders placed relatively quickly and delivered not quite as quickly. I thought, "thats ok", as they were a tad busy. Not packed, but busy. Afterwards, I also requested additional chips, which BTW, never arrived... That is where it started a slow roll downhill that quickly spiraled into a steep hill, no brakes situation. After 15 or so minutes, our server, who shall remain anonymous, takes our order. Pretty simple, the camarron tacos for me, fajitas for the wife. They arrive, again about 15 min later so, not too bad. As for the food, I can only speak on behalf of my tacos and I must say, they were very enjoyable. Wifey said the fajitas were "bland and not well seasoned". A very basic "just ok". I only finished two of the three tacos. Then, literally after we had both been finished with our meals and drinks for at least 20 min, our server comes back and asks if we would like anything else. At this point obviously not... And by this time, after having already been there for nearly an hour and a half, (with only 2 hrs in the meter across the street), we called it an evening. Well guess what, pardon the pun but Houdini finally and magically reappears, (after at least another 15 minutes), arriving back with our check and a doggie box. I was gonna pay cash on the bill but due to the denominations in our possession, it would have resulted in a tip much more than he deserved... Ended up with 8 minutes on the meter. We will never come back to this location. I will patronize my preferred location in Pedro...

9/10 loved the good ambiance and service was fun but a bit pushy at the end the serve was ending his shift and was making it clear that we needed to hurry up and pay which was a bit off putting we get it sir your shift is over

Quick sit down, easy parking, great service & the slushed margarita was bomb AF! First time at this location but I'll be back when I'm in the area.

Food and drinks were delicious! I ordered Chicken Mole Enchiladas and my partner had the Asada Plate. The asada was flavorful and juicy honestly out of this world. Enchiladas were delicious and had a very rich mole sauce. Parking is iffy depending on if you're familiar with the neighborhoods or what time you come. there's a small lot next door and a good amount of street parking if you're willing to walk a little block. The music is loud and the lights are dim with some neon ambiance lights which is a fun little vibe but I wouldn't recommend for a family unless you're okay with less talking or honestly sitting outside would be nice too! The service was great as well. I unfortunately forgot our servers name but she was very sweet and attentive to the party until later in the evening when it took a while to get our check sorted out but it's to be expected on a busy Saturday night in Redondo. I would return for a bday or special event. I'm interested in trying out their brunch too!

Love this place! It's in a great location minutes walk to Redondo Beach. There's a patio and plenty of metered parking. I ordered ceviche and a combo plate that included chile relleno, chicken enchilado and a soft taco with asada meat. My waiter was very friendly, attentive and professional. There's lots of tv's around the restaurant and has a fun vibe to it.

Kalaveras is one of my new favorite restaurants! The ambiance is great, AMAZING FOOD, and of course soft serve margs which are soooo delicious. my favorite is the lime one and the mango one. you can get a flight for 25 bucks where you get to try all the flavors! also- the quesabirria tacos and consume is out of this world- some of the best I've tried. If im being honest, the service has been a little weird the times I've went, however i think it was because they were busy. highly recommend

My go to!! Their lunch specials & daily specials are to die for. My favorite is the chicken taquitos but this trip we started with the margarita sampler (big smile) and had two lunch specials (drool). My husband rated the combination plate with 1 cheese enchilada and 1relleno a 10 out of 10. I had a combination plate with two crispy shell tacos, and I would rate it an 9/10. I had a couple bites that were a little fattier than I would like but that is a personal choice I think. It was so much delicious food. We will definitely be back. Our favorite (not pictured) is the cheese dip on their appetizer menu. (We tried this last time from the happy hour menu)

5 stars for great service! Came in on a Thursday night and we were seated immediately. Food came with complementary chips and salsa, and the price was certainly up to par with the quality! The restaurant was very clean and well lit, nice decorations. Will come again soon :)

Big shoutout to our waiter, Martin. Service was crazy fast -- we got our food in about five minutes, no exaggeration. Drinks came out just as quick. He checked on us every 10 minutes, always on point, and every time we ordered another round he brought it with speed. The food slapped too. I had the enchiladas de mole, my girl had a wet burrito, both super fire. Definitely recommending this spot to anyone. The ambience is real Mexican‑inspired with Día de los Muertos touches that make the place feel authentic and alive. Again, thank you Martin you made the whole experience solid.

The place is super lively and for birthdays they have bright neon signs, birthday shoutouts, and sing. Definitely a great spot if you're looking for energy and fun. Heads up though: it gets loud. If you're coming with a group bigger than 2, it can be kinda hard to hear each other without yelling across the table. I got the margarita flight. The cucumber one was hands down my favorite! Refreshing and not too sweet. The others were a bit too sugary for my taste, but still fun to try.

I loved this place--until I didn't. It was Cinco de Mayo, so we knew it would be busy and we were totally fine with waiting. When we arrived, the host told us it'd be a 45-minute to 1-hour wait unless we had a reservation. Fair enough... except there were plenty of open tables, and a bunch of people were either waiting around or straight up leaving because of the wait. So I got smart--hopped on Yelp and guess what? They were taking reservations! I booked one for 10 minutes later and suddenly... boom, we had a table. When I went back to the counter and said we had a reservation, the staff laughed and whispered to each other, "She didn't have a reservation." But they had no choice--they seated us. Now here's the real kicker: after we were finally seated, it took 15-20 minutes just to get our drink and food order taken. Our server only came to our table twice the whole time we were there. We even saw a group of 7 people experiencing the same issue--long wait, ignored service. Turns out it was one of the girl's birthdays. Her boyfriend looked stressed trying to figure out what to do, so I helped him make a Yelp reservation too--and they got seated just like we did. At least her birthday was saved. Honestly, I'm still confused. Why would a business choose to let tables sit empty while customers walk out the door? It's like they're actively turning away money. Kalaveras is usually a favorite of mine. I've never had issues at other locations--but this Redondo Beach spot? Never again. Hard pass

This place on Cinco de Mayo is a vibe!! However, no Happy Hour for this specific day wasn't. But still a great place for the energy, drinks, and good Mexican food. It's very loud, so be prepared to shout or not talk, they have tv screens to watch sports. We did get asked to leave after about 1.5 hours, probably since it was a busier night and we were basically done with our meal but felt somewhat rushed out especially after waiting to be seated with a reservation. Parking is metered or you can find free street parking on the "aves" and walk over. The interior decor is so fun and aesthetically pleasing. Great spot for a date night or larger groups. They do have specials throughout the week. I must be weak or their margarita slushes are really strong, so lightweights beware! The food was fresh and came out quickly! The asada bowl was basic, but enchiladas were delicious. Lucero was a very friendly waitress who checked in on us throughout the meal. Would for sure come back but choose to sit outside next time!

Excellent Mexican food, extraordinary salad bar, relaxing and festive indoor seating, sunny and breezy outdoor seating. We love their Taco Tuesday! $1.49 each all day! (All types except seafood). It's smaller than their usual size but, 3 of them with lots of salad toppings would make a very nice and healthy lunch. The salsa bar is more like a salad bar, I'm not kidding! My wife had 3 Asadas, I had Asada, Pollo, and Barbacoa, I think Barbados was the most flavorful. Service is always fairly responsive and prompt.

It's literally walking distance from our hotel in Torrance -- so close we actually walked past it the first time without even realizing it was there. Super hidden, easy to miss. The space itself is small, and when you first walk in it doesn't hit you with an over-the-top tiki vibe right away. But once the drinks start coming out, it fully delivers. The glassware is so fun and themed -- I was obsessed with the flamingo cup and actually ended up buying a couple online since I couldn't take the real one home with me. Drink-wise, I stuck mostly to my usual zombie, which has this great earthy, cinnamon-y flavor that's just different from anything else -- does the trick every time (there's a two-drink max/minimum on it, which I respect). We also tried a Makahiki Mua and a Painkiller, both really solid. The Makahiki Mua had a fun flavor, kind of similar to a Painkiller, but the zombie is still my go-to. Service was pretty good overall -- the bartender stayed mostly in one corner of the bar, which actually worked in our favor since we got served fast. A couple of small quirks though: they only have a limited number of menus, so we kept having to pass one back and forth around the bar, which felt a little silly. They also seemed to be running low on drink cups at times, having to wash and rotate them back into use, which was an odd thing to notice at a bar this size. Also wish they had some food or snacks available, even something small -- but that's a minor gripe. Vibe-wise, this is easily one of my favorite tiki lounges I've been to -- doesn't quite topple Broken Compass Tiki for me, but it's up there. Fun, easy, great drinks, solid service despite the small hiccups, and a perfect spot if you're staying in the Torrance area. Would absolutely go back and would recommend it to anyone chasing that tiki lounge crawl.

I had seen the Bazille sign above the Nordstrom entrance so many times, but for the longest time I had no idea how to actually get there. Well, I finally did about two weeks ago, and OMG -- what a pleasant surprise. You actually enter through Nordstrom and take the stairs or elevator up to the second floor. The restaurant is beautiful, elegant and intimate without feeling overly fancy. But the FOOD! Absolutely delicious. Everything we had was so good. And another pleasant surprise was the price. I eat out all the time and have tried a lot of restaurants around LA, so I have a pretty good idea of what places in this category usually charge. For the quality of the food, the atmosphere, and the overall experience, Bazille is surprisingly affordable. It's not "cheap" food by any means -- it just feels like a really good value compared to similar restaurants. The service was just as impressive. Every single person we interacted with was professional, friendly and welcoming, from the hosts to our server. And clearly the kitchen knows what they're doing because everything that came out was amazing. I can't believe I've walked past this place so many times without trying it.
