Food is good. Nothing outstanding, but good. The first time I tried the Chuck Norris. It was good. Very little meat. I was expecting more for the price. Tonight I tried the SouthWesterm Chicken Sandwich. I don't eat bread so I asked for a lettuce wrap. The waiter didn't understand my request so I just ordered the regular version and ate it without the buns. Ramon came by once to check on us. Which is why I bring my own water bottle. And it's a good thing! It was a good meal. Not great. But, good. I'll keep coming here since my friends like the free parking lot. read more

We come to Redondo Beach Grill every Saturday for lunch with a group of friends, and it never disappoints. We love sitting on the outdoor patio, it's the perfect place to relax, enjoy the beautiful weather, and catch up. The food is consistently outstanding. My favorite is the Southwest grilled chicken sandwich with guacamole it's absolutely delicious. There are so many great choices on the menu that everyone in our group always finds something they love. A special thank-you to Julie, our server, who is always friendly, attentive, and provides exceptional service. It's also wonderful to see Steve, the owner, out greeting guests and making sure everyone has a great experience. That personal touch really sets this place apart. First time trying the place since it was Rajin Cajun. I'm happy to see they kept my favorites. The fried chicken plate and the Cajun Combo. Still pricy for lunch but I'm never disappointed.service just as casual and family friendly. Always appropriate amount of staffing. The new theme is South Redondo. It will be fun to see them add local decor as time goes on. We just came back to say hello and of course support the owners of this spot! We will be back to try the meanness chili since Aaron doesn't eat beans but loves chili and Fritos. My daughter's happy to see the fried pickles made it but will miss the alligator bites. We see staff wiping menus and cleaning thoroughly. Patio now has a sun cover and I see is dog friendly. Parking is still tight but it's a great neighborhood for a walk. I love that you can get the oysters cooked or raw. I'm too scared to try raw. Lots of options for picky eaters as well as some pretty unique stuff. Hoping to see our favorite bartender in the future. We wanted to try the restaurant replacing Ragin' Cajun. The place has a fresh new look that is laid back...like Redondo. Ramon was our server and was delightful. Their menu is extensive. Even has some dishes from the days of Ragin' Cajun. Both of the dishes we ordered were massive. The mole sauce on the chicken burrito was spot on. And the chicken fajitas were sizzling and delicious. Expect a generous pour if you order a glass of wine. The temperature of my draft beer was higher than ideal. Their flatware is suitable for Norm's, but not for a mid-priced restaurant. For a restaurant named "Grill", they might do better focusing the menu on their grill rather than Mexican and Cajun. Great staff. Solid food. We will be back. Cheers! read more

Hubbers and I were trying to figure out where to get grub while the pups were running around and doing their thing at the nearby dog park. Sadly, we couldn't agree on a spot, so we decided to take a little cruise in the riviera area and see where we end up. Then we saw this place. While on a red light, I pulled it up on Yelp to see if they're dog friendly - yep! Green light went on, we made a left, and another left into their parking lot. And it dawned on me: I've been here before: it used to be Ragin' Cajun! (And I remember enjoying my visits here back then!) I was a little bummed it's gone but delighted at the same time to learn they maintained some items on the menu that I enjoyed back in the day. We were seated at the patio area which is really nice, by the way. It's very roomy, and the seats and tables are spaced out well. Plenty of room to place both pups we had on hand. And what a treat for them: there's a dog menu! Hubbers and I decided to do an ala carte / share everything kinda meal. GUMBOLAYA: Just as good as the last time I had it under that previous moniker. Packed with flavor delicious. They were generous with the amount of chicken and sausage. Awesome starter. LOUISIANA GRILLED OYSTERS: It's one of those must eat ASAP (but also try not to burn your mouth) because it's best to have while hot. Not as great like the ones we had at NOLA, but not too bad either. Some were over charred, and seasoning needs a little more umph, but overall, still good, SHRIMP PO'BOY WITH A SIDE OF ONION RINGS: Onion rings were perfectly seasoned and fried. The po-boy was bigger than we expected so we were glad we shared it! Vege was fresh, nice sized and seasoned shrimp. The half was plenty for me - too much even that I saved half of that for an afternoon snack! Delish. SALMON AND RICE (for our fur babies): Well worth the price. They gave us plenty even when split in two. They, too, had leftovers for dinner, FOOD: 3.5. Above par, overall. SERVICE: 5. Our server (didn't catch his name, booooo on me!) was attentive and friendly. He even put up with our dogs' incessant barking and told us he understood - he's a dog parent himself! VALUE: 4. PARKING: Private lot. Street parking also available. OVERALL: 4. So glad they're still here, even under a new name. Brought the family here on a Saturday night to see the basketball game and have some dinner to start off. The service was A+. Everyone was really nice and helpful. The menu has a lot of good items. Basic bar food. I really liked my chicken wrap. The fried pickles are really good and the brownie sundae was excellent. The place is really cool. It's got a lot of TVs full bar.Cool bar area good music playing. Food was good, prices weee decent, just be aware that they charge you 3% for using your credit card. So excited to try Steve & Lisa's new adventure, so when word got out they were doing their soft opening this weekend, we gathered our Ragin Friends and popped in to check out the new menu. Melissa was our server and she was super nice and attentive. So nice to see some of the same faces behind the bar and through out the restaurant. And the new beach mural and decor was inviting. Our group started with an order of steak nachos and Oysters (a Ragin favorite) and they were great for sharing. For the main dishes a Big Nick Burger, The Chicken Sandwich (fried), and an order of the Fish Tacos (grilled). The burger was packed with flavor and bacon. The chicken sandwich was always a favorite. It was fried perfectly with a great tasting batter and served on a soft fresh bun, we opted for onion rings ($1.00 up charge). And the grilled fish tacos were delicious, the sauce made them extra good! I had to get an order of my old Raging favorite... the Chicken, Sausage & Corn Bisque (aka the Bayou Bisque), it is my favorite, a rich and creamy creole bisque on top of white rice (absolutely the best and so glad it made it on top the new menu). We finished off the night with churros, but I can't wait to come back for Lisa's amazing Peach Cobbler. A truly great restaurant/full bar & cafe. New restaurant in the old Ragin Cajun location..Same owner, just a new name & menu, but some of the old menu items are still available.. Went in yesterday for lunch, tried their $13.00 lunch specials, I tried the taco chicken salad, a side of fries & my wife the hot dog & fries.. Just didn't make the mark for a $13. 00 special, thinking maybe $10.00 tops, the fries at $7.00, should be $4.00 tops, but that's me..As for the quality, seemed just fine.. The restaurant, restroom & parking lot, all very clean with plenty of parking.. We decided to come back, for the live music.. All & all a 3 out of 5 stars.. read more

Formally Ragin Cajun restaurant, the owner after suffering and surviving a major medical episode came back with a vengeance. He changed the name of the restaurant and the menu. The menu options are plentiful and food is spectacular. But most importantly, the staff is amazing. They're extremely helpful and attentive. They do have live entertainment on certain nights, which I'd definitely like to enjoy one night. Disappointing food and service. I got some happy hour dishes so I could try a few things. The gumbolaya was the highlight, unfortunately. It was flavorful, but barely warm. It had clumps of rice that seemed to be added as an afterthought. The lemon pepper wings were ok, but over seasoned & dry. The biggest disappointment were the sliders. (See pic). Dry bun, dry patty, that's it. No sauce, not even a pickle. Offering cheese would be a nice touch. Also no condiments on the table, so I had to hunt down some ketchup. My server didn't check back, brought the wing sauce much later than the wings and had zero personality. I love to recommend new places, but RB Grill is a pass for me. EDIT: Thank you for the reply, Lisa. What I'm getting from your response is that you care less about your Happy Hour food and presentation and take no responsibility for your Happy Hour food quality. I wish I would have known that beforehand. Perhaps you should put that on the menu: "Our Happy Hour food isn't up to par. Please try something more expensive." Please do me a favor and google sliders. Look at the images. Sesame seed bun, gooey cheese, juicy patty, lettuce, tomato, pickles, condiments, etc., not just a dry bun and patty. Ok yall another Thursday rolled around and we are back ! I really wanted to try chef Ricky's red sauce but I know I LOVE the green sauce soooo of course the most accommodating place ever Mel said do both ! I didn't think that was a thing lol my review stands I prefer the green sauce on the carne asada burrito but glad I got to try both! And then last week i mentioned to Mel I never tried Lisa's homemade butter cake she screamed WHAT?! So we had to get it this time and we have been missing out !!! It was soooo good! Definitely save room for dessert! We love the blueberry cobbler usually around Halloween time but the peach one is good too! Well, this was disappointing. My wife and I planned a "nothing but new experiences" weekend in Los Angeles--new music venues, museums, fine dining, speakeasies, hiking trails... even a random local diner near home. It was a great idea. And it was working...until we hit Redondo Beach Grill. First impression: an overpriced Denny's dressed up in tacky beach décor--the kind you'd expect at a Florida tourist trap. Think kitschy wooden signs with not-so-clever "beach bum" slogans, TVs mounted at odd angles, and cords dangling like part of the design theme. We hadn't tried this spot before (though we did visit its previous location in Hermosa Beach), so with the new concept, it qualified as part of our "all new" weekend. Once seated at a high-top, we opened the menu... and kept opening. It's large and, more importantly, completely random. Mexican, burgers, a $15 Dodger Dog, Cajun, wraps, salmon, steaks, fried chicken--basically a culinary identity crisis. Not quite Cheesecake Factory-length, but heading in that direction. Our server seemed new, so I'll give her a pass--everyone deserves a learning curve. I ordered the "mayonnaise burger," which turned out to be a fried chicken sandwich featuring a dry, overcooked chicken breast and an enthusiastic (borderline aggressive) amount of mayo. I ate the onion rings and tried to salvage the sandwich by scraping off as much mayo as possible... but ultimately, no. That's as generous as I can be. We didn't send it back, and no one asked how it was when clearing the table. My wife ordered shrimp tacos. They arrived on corn tortillas instead of the listed flour, but she said the flavor was fine. Still, in an area packed with excellent Mexican options, "fine" doesn't really cut it. We paid the bill and made a quick exit. The "all new experiences" weekend was still a success...just not here. read more

RBG has a wonderful varied menu that covers whatever you may want. Everything from burgers & hotdogs to oysters, Prime Ribeye or fried chicken. Feel like Mexican food, they've got you covered with tacos, burritos, etc. Of course there are soups and salads. If you're missing Ragin' Cajun, you can still find your favorites. This is a great place to wander on over after a soccer game or a day in the park with the kids. There will be music on the weekends once Redondo Beach Grill officially opens in mid April. Went for the soft opening. The decor and atmosphere is clean and inviting. The old place was looking like it needed a refresh and that they did! Excited for the new menu we had tacos, chips, burgers, and fries. My kids loved going there as well. It's very family friendly and the margaritas are great! Great addition for the community. We had brunch today at the Redondo beach grill. There is a large parking lot we it's patio and inside seating. We were greeted warmly as we entered. As this was our first time, we asked the server for recommendations. My husband took up her suggestion for a chuck norris steak sandwich and fries while I had a breakfast burrito, tater tots with salsa. The restaurant was clean, well lit with booths and tables. The salsa was freshly prepared with just the right bite and the breakfast burrito was great - quality ingredients prepared with care. Drinks were continually refilled and the server checked in on us to see if we needed anything and how our meals were. We felt welcomed and valued. We heard that there is entertainment on the weekends. What a great find in the South Bay! read more

Really really wanted to be impressed by this place. Greeted and sat quickly. Ordered a beer, a seltzer and 2 shots of Jameson, buffalo chicken sandwich and chicken Caesar wrap. Waited for about 20 mins and the place was not busy. Sandwich came with onion rings that were good. Wrap came with nothing. Wrap was bland. Needed parmesan cheese and pepper along with more Caesar dressing. Also for 15 bucks and no side? That's not ok. Bill came out to about 80$. I get that times are hard but it didn't seem like 80$ worth of food Ava drink. Place was nice, restrooms were really clean. Lots of parking. But the food was average at best. Waiter and the owner that greeted us were both really nice. We will try to return to give it another shot. read more

Pretty bad experience overall. Most of our group was unhappy with their food. The "chicken po boy" was super disappointing- it was literally some dry, chewy chicken strips with lettuce and tomato, and a small amount of sauce smeared on the bread. One sandwhich that was supposed to be served with cheese didn't come with any, and one that did show up with cheese just had a handful of shredded unmelted cheese thrown on top. The server also got 3 of our orders wrong, even after clarifying several times. The quesadilla was okay, but how can you really screw that up? Definitely won't be back. read more

We had a really disappointing experience. There was a hair in my daughter's mac and cheese, and after sending it back, the replacement didn't arrive until the rest of us had already finished eating. On top of that, half of our order was initially delivered to the wrong table, so our group ended up eating in two separate rounds instead of together. Service was also lacking--despite asking twice, we never received ketchup for the fries. As for the food itself, it didn't make up for the issues. The burrito was extremely bland, and the steak was below expectations. I genuinely wanted to like this place as we we loved Ragin Cajun, but overall it fell far short. read more

I wanted to like this place. I'll start with the good part. It's cute inside. The staff is friendly and the service was fast. Here is the bad- we ordered a few things and all of them were bad. I got chicken strips and as they were coming to the table my daughter said "omg how sad for you". That's how bad they looked. They were thin and somehow managed to be really light in color instead of golden brown and still managed to be dry and gross. We got chili tots and those were very strange. We were thinking they would be like a plate of crispy tater tots with some chili on top but it was like a little cup like what a cup of soup would come in and there were tater tots submerged in chili and they got so soggy they wouldn't even stay together so it was more like chili with tiny pieces of potato in it. It was like something a child would make as a test run meal. My daughter got a steak sandwich which was different from what we expected but still really good. The issue was her fries were so under done they were floppy and oily and gross. It was sad that every single thing that came out was bad. The steak sandwich was good but it came with those super sad fries. So unfortunately this place is not a win. I probably wouldn't go back because it wasn't like there was one bad plate of food and everything else was good. All the food was so bad it boardered on strange. read more

Extremely slow service the limes in the margarita had no juice in them same with the limes that we asked for for the salsa that took 30 minutes to arrive and the margaritas are horrible. I don't even think it's a real margarita. Not sure what it was but this place is the pits. read more

I learned to eat raw oysters in France and then followed up along the East Coast. Here, you've got fabulous raw oysters with delicious sauce! Once I start eating oysters I (almost) can't stop!
