The food was outstanding!!! We all loved the Tikla Masala spinach and regular sauce for chunks of chicken. Thr paneer was delicious! The Love and Passionfruit teas were great. Service was very informative, knowledgeable, and polite. Overall, I can't wait to come back!

I have been wanting to try this place. Reservations are highly recommended because they are busy. We were greeted and seated immediately by the hostess when we arrived for our dinner reservations. The interior is nice and dark. Our server that evening was attentive, friendly, and efficient. I've tried: CHICKEN VINDALOO- the sauce is rich and delicious! LAMB TIKA MASALA- the meat is so tender, and the sauce is flavorful NAAN- great for dipping into the vindaloo or masala sauce The Mango Martini and Smokin' Berries cocktails were both great. I'd come back to try other dishes. The portions were just right, although it would have been better if there were mote protein in each dish. One dish is good for 2 people to share, if having rice or naan to eat the dish with. 'Til next time.

My husband and I were looking for a place that was more quiet intimate and this definitely was the place. We made a great choice. The food was so delicious. I definitely recommend the crispy potatoes in the appetizers they were spicy but not hot spice. Flavored very well and I will definitely be having them again. I get to try my husband's paneer ravioli it was delicious and I wished I had gotten that instead of what I had. I had the Saag spinach masala, it looks like it was healthy, which it definitely was. It just needed a little bit more of flavor to it. We're in La Grange all the time. It's definitely gonna be a place that we visit again we signed up for the rewards program. We will try different entrées and appetizers and let you know how they taste.

We had dinner here on a Sunday night and were glad we made a reservation as they were busy shortly after 5:30PM. The cocktail menu is extensive and creative. I went with the Goan sour and it was excellent. The coconut lime foam on top was a fancy addition and it went nicely with the drink. We shared an order of the Goan curry mussels and were glad our server suggested getting some naan to soak up the sauce as it was delicious. The mussels were fresh and tender and the curry was perfect with them. We could have made a meal out of a few orders of these as they were so good! I had the lamb chops masala for my entree and the lamb chops were so good! They were tender and flavorful and had just the right amount of char from the grill. The sauce was amazing and I could just eat a bowl of that with some naan. Medium spice level had flavor without heat. I think this was perfect for with the lamb chops. Speaking of the naan it was fresh, warm and delicious. We also shared an order of the okra and that was crispy and delicious. It was a huge serving and so we had a container to take home . Service was excellent and our server helped us out a number of times including the recommendation of naan for the sauces and also giving us a heads up that rice came with our entrees since we almost ordered it separately. The atmosphere is casual and modern. The food was so good this is definitely on my list of places to return when I'm in town visiting family.

I had a lot of expectations on the food at this place due to great and very welcoming ambience. I was really disappointed to see the small portions for the high price from the menu. The food was very spicy though I ordered medium spicy. The chicken appetizer was very disappointing and didn't taste good at all. Paneer ravioli was okay but costed $27 for 5 pieces of Ravioli. The stars they earn is only for good service and ambience but lack the taste for the food. I may not choose to go to this place again.

My husband and I went to Kama Indian Bistro for a date night, and it was a fantastic experience! The food was delicious--he tried the Harissa Chicken Tikka appetizer and absolutely loved it. The chicken was tender, served in a rich and flavorful crème. For his main dish, he had the Kama Kaze Lamb Shank with ghost pepper, which packed a bold and spicy kick. I opted for garlic naan, puri, and spinach masala, all of which were fresh and full of flavor. Service was great; our waitress was kind and attentive, and despite the restaurant being nearly full, we were seated immediately. That really stood out to us because many places either make you wait or rely strictly on reservations. The hostess made sure to find a spot for us quickly, even on a Friday night at 6:30 PM, which is pretty rare. We waited about 25 minutes for our food, which was reasonable, and the atmosphere was absolutely beautiful. Overall, Kama delivered an extraordinary experience. Highly recommend if you're looking for great Indian food in LaGrange.

I've been to this restaurant twice and will come back. The food is 10/10. I'm a foodie and flavors were perfectly balanced, everything cooked well and all pairs nicely together. The cocktails are perfection as well. Special mention for the the mussels. The broth is so good that my fiancé and I love it so much we drink it like soup and dip with naan. Service was supper attentive and friendly as well!

We went for La Grange Restaurant week so we could get a taste of a lot of different foods at a cheaper cost. It was so worth it! Our service was phenomenal and the food was even better. The ambiance was nice and every table had a candlestick. Cannot wait to eat here again!

If you're looking for Indian food and kind of fancy, this is your spot. Felt so welcomed from the moment we walked in. It's a pretty big restaurant with a lot of seating. We did the restaurant week menu and was STUFFED. My husband got the pani puri which was probably the only dish we didn't like all night. The mango filling was way too sweet. Thankfully my goan mussels curry came just in time, it was absolutely delicious. I poured the curry into my puri shells and ate that. For entrees we got the chicken tikka and lamb shank vindaloo. The curries were so good. The vindaloo was just the right amount of spicy and the meat was falling off the bone. The chicken in the tikka was a little dry but still pretty good. We got rice with our dish and got a side of garlic naan. The naan was perfectly garlicky. Lastly for dessert I got the gulab jaman and my husband got the kulfi ice cream. He said the ice cream was a little gritty but to be expected when using kulfi, and the gulab jaman was very sweet but hit the sweet spot you want at the end of the dish. Overall we had plenty of food to bring home. And this was a great spot for restaurant week!

This is my second time visiting Kama And this place never disappoints!! Tried the jackfruit tacos for the first time and absolutely loved it !! They are perfect balance of sweet and tangy :) The Roganjosh was absolutely fantastic and soft and tender! And of course my fav mango lassi !! Service was a bit slow due to weekend rush! I would visit this place again :)

My friend suggested this place last year and I decided to try it out for myself. We decided to go at 6pm to beat the dinner rush on a Friday. As the night progressed the place was getting packed. The place was very spacious with a bar in the center once you walk in. The drinks looked amazing. Since it was a dry January for me, I only looked at what people orders. We ordered a couple of the appetizers (Samosas and Mussels) to start. Both were so good. Inside of the samosas was flavorful with every bite. The mussels were delicious as well. We both had an entree. I ordered the mixed lamb grill. The lamb chops were so tender and the spiced lamb skewered meats were perfectly cooked. I loved the greens on top paired well with the savoriness of the meats. I ordered the Aloo Gobi as a side for my main dish. The cauliflower and potatoes were a nice offset of the lamb as well. We had three orders of the garlic naan. Love the large chunks of garlic! The staff were super nice, attentive and very accommodating. I can't wait to come back and try other items on the menu!

    Erica J.

The food was amazing! I could end right there. I visited on a Tuesday for a late lunch; there were probably 2 other people/pairs there. The lobster molly dish was amazing, but pretty spicy. Order only if you don't mind that extra kick. I also highly suggest the lamb-stuffed naan. I could've gotten more but decided to be normal. The crispy potatoes were delicious. I also love that they serve bread pudding - it's getting harder and harder to find! I can't wait to return for happy hour.

Me and my spouse went here for Valentines Day and our experience was nothing short of amazing! We had Sam as our waitress and she was a delight. Since there was a limited menu for the holiday she made recommendations for us and all I can say is WOW. Flavor profiles I have never experienced were explored. The chicken was so tender and juicy it just melted in our mouths. We will be back very soon.

Don't blink or you'll drive right by it. Trust me when I say you won't want to do this. When we arrived we were the only people there. We were greeted by Kennedy our server. He recommended an item from the Chefs Recommendation a Maharaj Mix Grill that came w/an assortment of meats like Tandori Chicken (excellent), Seekh Kabob (ground lamb sausage (excellent), Malala Kabob (chicken seasoned w/yogurt, cream cheese, garlic, cardamom & nutmeg, Dal & Butter Chicken. This also came w/lentil beans, grilled naan bread (charred) excellent. This all came on a small iron skillet w/grilled onions sizzling on the iron skillet.. We also ordered a dish of mild butter chicken that for me should have been spicer but that's the way my wife wanted it). There was a tiny condiment w/a spicy green sauce which helped w/the mild butter chicken & a milder red sauce. The Chefs Recommendation of Maharaj Mix Grill was $28. This was an awesome choice as it came w/a great assortment of different meats, grilled onion, grilled naan bread, lentil beans, a portion of butter chicken & basmati white rice. The stand alone butter chicken for me was lacking some spice & had too much sauce & not enough chicken. For dessert they brought us hot sweet ball w/a syrupy sauce that was tasty. I throughly enjoyed this meal as the flavors, seasoning & spices were very good. Kennedy was our server for the bulk of our meal but he must have left @ 4pm (shift change) because we had a different server. Either way the food & service was excellent. I know this is a place I will rerun to.

My only suggestion would be for the kachumbar salad to have more vibrant colors and fresher flavors--perhaps beets and carrots instead of the very chewy purple cabbage. I didn't try any of the cocktails, but I did have a glass of cava brut, which was served in a white wine glass and was a very generous pour. They have lunch specials, a happy hour, and tea (!) from 2-5, veg or non-veg options, which I'm definitely checking out. If you're vegetarian, items that can be made vegan are clearly marked, and there are more vegan items on the website than I saw on the menu, so I would ask. Most of the French touches appear to be on dishes with meat, though there are flatbreads and a spinach dip, and of course dessert; there is a lot more paneer on the menu than I'm used to, which might be a gesture towards the French love of cheese. Vegans would do best ordering the soya chaap or from the Accompaniments section, which includes classic Indian items (aloo gobi, dal). Overall there are about 8 vegetarian entrees / accompaniments, plus appetizer options. Restaurant serves wine, beer and cocktails in addition to the usual mango lassi, chai and soft drinks. We got a ginger mojito; mango lassi; the corn fritters; the fig/pistachio/paneer flatbread; garlic naan; rice; the soya chaap and a cardamom creme brulee. In general, food had a blend of spices but was mild, which makes sense given the French influence. The corn fritters were nicely spiced with good texture and a tasty sauce. The garlic naan is quite impressive with lots of herbs and garlic. Unless you love soy cutlets, I don't recommend the soya chaap (soy/wheat cutlets in coconut curry sauce); it's fine for what it is - the gravy was delicious and rich - but it's not for me. The flatbread was interesting; the pistachios didn't overwhelm at all but I would have liked more fig to stand up to the paneer. The spouse was impressed with the mojito; the lassi was OK but wasn't as fruity as I like. The cardamom creme brulee is served in a wide ramekin, maximizing the surface area of the sugar crust and making it easily sharable. Instead of permeating the cream, the cardamom seeds provided little bursts of flavor, which was nice but not what I expected. Service was a bit slow but solicitous - we were there on a quiet Sunday night. Copious parking; easy hours; I'll definitely check out the lunch specials and tea when I'm in the mood for local Indian food, heavy on the paneer.

Having just looked it up online - they are: golden, bite-sized fritters are made from a fermented batter of rice and urad dal mixed with onions, green chilies, and cumin. For entrees - we got the Butter Tikka Masala (w/ chicken) and Rogan Josh (w/ lamb). We asked for them spicy and I thought the spice level was good, but we could have gone spicier - but one never knows. It came with white rice and we ordered a garlic naan. The naan had a good amount of garlic on it so quite good. We enjoyed both of our entrees - I might have gone chicken for mine instead of lamb next time. The sauces for both dishes were really good and plentiful. The only drawback is the ordering / menu. It's on your phone (no menu in the restaurant) - which makes it hard b/c the phone is small - and you literally have to click on each dish to know what it is. Took a while to order. I would recommend having a hard copy menu - or changing the online portion where you can see the descriptions easily w/o having to click on each one. Overall - a great place with good food.
