Excellent ramen. The service and ambiance are good as well. All and all a good meal and experience. Will be back.

Tonkotsu ramen is really good! The broth really creamy and delicious. No wonder the review is so high, we love it! Onsen egg is amazing, too! Highly recommended

Stopped here on our first night to the city for dinner on a Thursday. Made reservations and swung in right around that time. There was a short wait, but from what I could see, a variety of tables here and seating. Not the biggest place, dark, intimate, wood accents and small spotlights over tables. We ordered buns and spicy edamame to start. It seemed like we had just ordered when the food came out. Love that. Buns were incredibly good - a close second to a joint in Chicago we ate at last weekend. Succulent meat, plenty of sauce, and just the usual pillowy bun. The edamame didn't seem spicy at first - then my face melted. Still good but a deep burning spiciness to them as advertised. For my entree I got the beef miso ramen, adding corn and an egg. The corn wasn't just a pile of kernels - but a side slice of a cob. Cool presentation. Beef was good and the broth soothed my soul. Top 10 ramen places I've been - well done.

Nice spot with a variety of options across ramen and rice don bowls, tonkatsu, beef, salmon and shrimp. We tried the spicy shrimp (coconut based broth), spicy tonkatsu, and salmon miso ramen. The tonkatsu and salmon were both cooked well - tender and moist. Ramen noodles were thin and well cooked - more al dente. We also tried the karaage which had a thick crispy batter and a sweet glaze, with an optional spicy side sauce for dipping. They had a variety of sake and beer options. The inside is small but turnaround is fairly quick. Lots of two seaters and a large table that we were able to snag after just a few minutes of waiting. There was also bar seating. Pretty dark inside to add to the ambiance for a quick date or catch up with friends. Checked in to the waitlist via Resy because we didn't have a reservation, and it was a short wait. Service was prompt.

Perfect spot to get a quick meal during a cold day! Walked in at 3:20 on a Sunday and were lucky to find a table. They close at 4 pm to reopen for evening service. As expected, quick service, flavorful food, and surprisingly quiet ambiance. The place was at 90% occupancy when we were there. They have a good amount of Vegan options thanks to their dedicated Vegan menu. Order anything that is labeled Spicy and for spice food lovers, it'll definitely hit the spot! Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen ($20), and Spicy shrimp ($23) is what we got. Very flavorful and good portion size. Highly recommended if you enjoy a hot bowl of Ramen!

Warming yourself up with a delicious bowl of ramen is always the answer to surviving a cold, dreary day. We visited Kame, a Japanese restaurant in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, on a Saturday evening. Reservations are highly recommended on the weekends, especially for large groups. The restaurant is small and has a limited amount of seating. We were lucky and scored a table for two without any reservations. The ambiance is different from your traditional ramen shop. It has a sleek minimalist interior. The lighting is dark and dim with a vibe similar to a speakeasy or trendy lounge. They have LED lamps on the tables. The menu focuses on Japanese comfort food, with ramen being the star dish. They offer classics like gyoza, takoyaki, karaage, edamame, tonkotsu, and curry rice bowls. They also have a vegan menu. As for drinks, they serve beer, sake, wine, tea, and non-alcoholic refreshers. Ramen here will cost you around $19-$23, which is a bit hefty. BUT we're in NYC... so these prices are expected and reasonable for the area. We already had light bites & drinks beforehand, so we went straight for the ramen! We both ordered the Tonkotsu ($19), which included pork broth, noodles, braised pork belly, kikurage mushroom, scallions, black garlic oil, bamboo, and seaweed. You can customize your bowl with more toppings at an additional charge. We added an onsen egg (boiled in low temperature water to achieve silky, custard-like whites & a firm, creamy yolk) for $3. Service was quick and attentive from start to finish. As soon as our bowls were set on the table... I knew it was going to be a solid meal! The broth was rich and creamy with an intense pork flavor - super savory, but not overly salty. The black garlic oil was very aromatic and added some smoky flavor to the broth. There was a generous amount of pork belly - two large cuts! It was sooo tender and had a melt-in-your-mouth texture. It had just the right amount of fat and lean meat. The noodles were springy and bouncy, but could've been more al dente. The onsen egg and other toppings were fresh and complemented the strong flavors of the broth. Overall, it was a satisfying and comforting bowl of ramen! I was stuffed after eating mine. I absolutely loved the pork belly slices and tonkotsu broth. Although the price tag is a bit higher than other competitors, the quality of their ingredients justifies it. If you're in the area and craving ramen, you can't go wrong with dining here! There's a reason why the rating is high ;)

Great food and service. The restaurant is cozy and perfect for a dinner date. It would have been perfect if the ramen came with an egg, each one was an extra $3.

This, hands down, is my favorite ramen shop. Came by with my boyfriend after hearing about Kame for months and finally tried it out - omg so good! We ordered the spicy karaage and we each got the spicy tonkatsu. The broth is incredibly flavorful, the noodles are not overcooked, and they give generous slabs of pork belly. I was so full but had to get every last drop of the broth. Will definitely be back soon :)

This was our first time trying this restaurant. The restaurant is very close to FIT, making it a great spot for college students. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. The dishes came out a decent time. We ordered ramen and really enjoyed it. Although the space is small, it wasn't busy when we visited during lunchtime. I would recommend making a reservation if you plan to go for dinner.

Kame Ramen is a top-tier ramen spot in Chelsea! We stopped by on a rainy Saturday, and the place was packed. The space is small, so be warned; the wait can get tricky since there's no official waitlist and it runs on an honor system. It's definitely easier for smaller parties to get seated faster. Despite the crowd, the staff handled everything with patience and genuine kindness. Service was quick once we sat down, and everyone working there kept things running smoothly. We tried the Tonkotsu Ramen, a rich and creamy pork broth with tender pork belly and black garlic oil, and the Shoyu Ramen, which had a lighter soy-based broth with shiitake mushrooms and bamboo. Both were outstanding. The only downside was the wait logistics, but the food and service made it completely worth it. Highly recommend if you're in the area.

It was my first time coming to NYC and I happened to come across a video of someone who tried Kame and I just had to try it. It did not disappoint! We got the spicy tonkotsu ramen and the spicy shrimp ramen. The seafood ramen had a coconut flavor to their broth that was amazing! Definitely spicy but not too spicy; it was tolerable. The flavor was there!! It's a cozy little spot and the waiters were really nice and attentive. We didn't make reservations and just walked in at around 5:10 p.m. and they had opened at 5:00 pm. It did start getting a little full after. We also ordered two of their famous appetizers which were also delicious. Hands down one of the best ramen dishes I have had! Will definitely come again if I'm ever visiting NYC!

For a small little place this serves some amazing food. I arrived a bit late and there was a line, but the greeter was quick to clear away a spot at the bar. Later I found out is is not just the host but also the waiter. I opted for the Spicy beef ramen and the Takayama which arrived pretty promptly. The Takoyaki had three squid balls with the fish flakes dancing all over which is a sight I always enjoy. The ramen though was the highlight!! Very very flavorful, though the beef was on the lighter side, but the broth and the noodles were really good. Great texture and flavor. This is going to be my new ramen spot in Chelsea

Menu looked good with a wide selection of apps, salads, ramen and a few desserts. And doesn't hurt that it's got a bib gourmand reco from Michelin. The front door is crazy heavy- so pull hard when you enter. The interior is dark modern decor with music playing. Feels like a hushed night club. It's a very narrow space with limited seating so reservations in advance is a must! They will seat large parties if half show up. We were seated at a long table with 8 seats along the side and 1 at each end. The table had a great view of the kitchen which was fun. We ordered a range of apps- small bites (good for vegetarians), apps (wings, bao, riceballs) and ordered ramen. They had a good selection of non alcoholic and alcoholic drinks. For dessert, we all saw the kitchen preparing shaved ice. Gigantic snowball of ice and syrup topped with whipped cream. We knew that we had to order it for dessert. We got 2 kakigori for the table- one mango and one matcha with red bean. Each person got a small bowl to take a serving from the huge shaved ice ball. Everyone enjoyed the food. Good ambiance and good food. We left paying $63 each including taxes.

But maybe because I tried the Smoke Dashi Ramen and the smoked fish oil did not appeal to me at all. I used to make it a requirement to visit Ichiran every time I came to New York, but this time I'm so glad I decided to revisit Tonchin. The noodles were thick and perfectly chewy the way I like it. And the broth was rich in a way that was almost milky, and not just a bowl of broth and salt like your typical American ramen chain restaurants. It barely knocks Ichiran off the top of my list for ramen in the US. However, as good as the chashu was, it wasn't as delicate as Ichiran does it. Nevertheless, I haven't had such an enjoyable meal in a while. #384

I ordered a bowl of their signature Kohoku-Ku Ramen and an order of Takoyaki. The Kohoku-Ku Ramen was packed with flavor, totally unique, and deeply comforting. It completely hit the spot. The Takoyaki was cooked perfectly! A huge plus was that it wasn't buried under a mountain of bonito flakes like at many other places. As the evening went on and the dinner crowd rolled in, the atmosphere picked up a pleasant energy, but the noise level stayed remarkably comfortable that you can actually have a normal conversation without shouting across the table. We started with the pork belly appetizer which was recommended and stated on the menu indicating it's their featured dish. It was the biggest disappointment as it was extremely fatty with large chunks of fat, while the lean portions were dry. It didn't look very appetizing. The dumplings were just okay--they had decent flavor but I was hoping for a crispier texture. I ordered the Zebra Ramen. The noodles were cooked perfectly al dente, but the broth was much saltier than I would have preferred. The pat of butter felt unnecessary and made the broth overly rich without adding much depth. The chashu was on the small side and also quite fatty and I assume it's the same as the appetizer but was sliced instead of in large chunks. The marinated egg had good flavor, although the yolk was a little more cooked than I typically like. Another thing is the pork belly appetizer came with an egg. I wish the server would tell us so we didn't have to add it to our ramen with an extra charge. The nori was also completely soggy by the time it reached our table. Overall, the noodles were the only highlight of the meal and the rest were very underwhelming. It's definitely not a place I would recommend.
