Let me preface this review by saying that I don't actually eat raw fish, but the nice thing about Kan Sushi is that they have a wide array of cooked items and rolls that don't contain raw fish. A few friends and I went on a Friday evening at about 7pm and got seated in about 15 minutes. You can order off the menu ala carte, or choose to do AYCE. For an additional $20, you can choose to go with the Premium AYCE menu. We opted for the regular AYCE ($38) and started with a few sushi rolls (Cali and shrimp tempura for me heheh), the kalbi, corn cheese, and garlic chicken. The rolls were pretty standard, but I wish they had a little more crab filling. My friends said the same about their rolls that had spicy tuna. The Kalbi was tender and came with 6 pieces. The garlic chicken was a tad too salty for me and for some reason, I was expecting fried garlic chicken (akin to Zippy's) but it was just stir fried? Corn cheese was a bit heavy on the onions but still pretty good to have and balanced out all the other food we were eating. It started to get busier and we definitely noticed it when ordering our second round of items. At some point, my friend was waiting on some takoyaki and we ended up just cancelling the item since we were getting full. Our server, Wyatt, was really sweet about though and very apologetic. We didn't mind since we were just chatting and yapping anyway lol but he was nice enough to let my friend try a few items on the premium menu as a small consolation. I came here after a long day around the area and was planning for it since unlimited sushi is tempting. both my partner and i have a shellfish allergies which we aren't serious about but we noticed a lot of their rolls had shellfish. it's not an issue at all because there menu has other options but we let our server know and she was incredibly helpful and super sweet about everything and took out the shellfish from our sushi. as a server as well i understand the inconvenience so we so delighted and appreciative of that. we got 2 rolls which were so delicious. my personal favorite was the bonnie and clyde with no shellfish and it was amazing. i got two orders of edamame, seaweed and cucumber salad which were really good but the cucumbers are super think which were hard to eat. overall i enjoyed my experience and i wouldn't mind coming again on a long day. read more

The most delicious Sushi and Takoyaki I've ever eaten on the island and ALL YOU CAN EAT!! The parking garage is to the right of the restaurant, scan the QR code to pay. No reservations for parties under 6 so my husband and I were expecting a wait coming in at 6pm but we were seated almost immediately. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and festive with lit up Christmas trees to celebrate the holidays. It's a great place to celebrate an anniversary or large special event like birthday or work gatherings. We paid the extra fee for Premium for more AYCE options and it was so worth it! The waiter was very nice, fast and attentive. They give a large menu to choose from, take your order, chefs make the food items and a server brings it to the table. It keeps the food clean and fresh, straight from the chef's knife to the table which I love. The wait in between ordering and getting the food was fair. My favorites were the hamachi collar (Crispy and flavorful on the outside, soft, temperature hot, delicious fish meat on the inside), Takoyaki (crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside), yellowtail carpaccio (Fresh fish with the pow of jalapeño and yuzu) and Galbi (Delicious marinated kalbi-like pieces). There were some premium alacarte items like Wagyu sushi and Wagyu steak yakiniku which was separate fee but we stuck to the premium AYCE menu. It was so much fun not being bound by the wallet and being able to eat ANYTHING off the menu including Appetizers, Tapas, BBQ, Sushi, Sashimi, Rolls, noodles and salads! We had a pre-celebratory graduation party here with my family from the mainland with a party of 39 and called in 48 hours for reservations and had no problems accommodating us. The manager called me the morning of and gave me his cell if the number of party changes or any questions come up...I mean, talk about 5 start hospitality!! We were able to put in appetizers and a few rolls in advances so once we sat down, food started coming in. I forgot what our waitress name was (sorry!) But she was was also originally from The BAY, she was great! Kudos to her!! Food was ono and highly recommend! The restaurant itself was very well kept and the music made the atmosphere so much better. Shocked at the amount of reviews above 2 stars here. The service was horrible. The hostess was unfriendly and not helpful. Our waiter took 20 minutes to take our order and got multiple orders wrong. Mind you, only 10% of the restaurant was occupied. The Yaki udon was extremely sweet. Garlic chicken looked horrible and undercooked. All the sushi wasn't even on par with Kozo Sushi quality. Our soy sauce dispenser was empty and even the coca-cola was flat. Not sure it's even considered AYCE when you can only order 4 rolls per table at a time and they only come by to take your order every 20 minutes. Kids 10 under are half prices, kids 4 and under are free. Just like any other AYCE place, you can order an abundance of rolls and other appetizers that is part of the meals. You can order a variety of anything from noodles, ramen, udon, bulgogi, rice plates, etc. the sushi is what I mainly ordered comes in large portions of 8-9 rolls, and my kids settled for the other food. Parking is easy, but you can easily miss the parking garage, not hard to find at all when you take the stairs it takes up to the restaurants already. So this place is located in the plaza by the Hilton Village. You have to pay for parking which isn't too bad but 13 dollars for two hours is asinine. The restaurant is located right next to the pizza joint. So the service is pretty good. Our server took a bit to tend to us but to be fair it was only two servers during lunch so he did the best he could. So service is pretty good for what they were able to work with. The food is AYCE but if you want premium it's another 20 dollars and I'm kind of glad i didn't do the premium. For ambiance wise, it's very chill. For appetizers i do NOT recommend the shrimp fried rice and the garlic chicken. The shrimp fried rice was extremely overdosed with onions and i tasted more onions than anything. Thankfully it's part of AYCE, otherwise I would have been pissed that I ordered it. Strong 0/5. The garlic chicken appetizer: i was disappointed. It lacked flavor and it was just mainly stored fried with sauce. It was like if a 6th grade chef made it. 0/5. The kalbi, beef beef belly, and fried chicken wing were pretty average. It wasn't too bad and it was worth getting. However if you went Korean food, just go to a Korean joint. All of those items were 3.3/5. So we ordered a bunch of rolls and I'll be honest. Most of them were decent. The roll that was good for pictures, terrible to eat was the hot Cheetos roll. The roll looks cool and unique but terrible to eat . That roll is definitely a -5/5. Every roll was good, and there were too many good ones to list. If i listed them then k would be writing a novel. On average they're all 4.1/5. I would come back maybe every quarter. read more

My family of 6 have been here twice in the last few months. We went for all you can eat sushi. The food was so delicious but with a large group, ordering only 4 rolls per table was a bit of a wait. The rolls came out when ready but it sometimes took a while before we were able to order again. You could order appetizers and sides too but rolls were limited. It would be much more efficient if customers could order on a tablet at the table when ready instead of waiting for the server to place another order, even getting drinks refilled or additional appetizers took a while because servers were busy. The atmosphere was good and inviting. Clean inside and bathrooms clean as well. Overall, will return in a smaller party for all you can eat sushi. read more

The service was fine, our waiter was kind and responsive. It did take a while to get tea and too long for our steamed pork bun. The sushi turnaround time was fine. The fish was not the freshest; we got mackarel nigiri that tasted fine but was a little rubbery. Salmon was tasty and the regular lunch menu mostly offers salmon. The rice in the sushi rolls had too much water and was stuck together like cement. Our faves were the salmon to the moon and creamy s&s (no rice!). My friend got the buldak carbonara ramen for fun and it was undercooked, super watery, and didn't taste very good--maybe stale--didn't know it was possible to mess up instant ramen like that. I made some at home tonight that was super delicious haha. Also tried the doritos roll -- not flavorful at all. Would stay away from their "truffle" options. I like truffle a lot but their truffle oil tastes like gasoline? Just don't expect the basic condiments with your sushi, I had to ask for wasabi and ginger. The Korean BBQ same thing, had to ask for rice and they didn't have kimchi. However, the bbq pork belly and Hawaiian steak was some of the better tasting ones I ate from any of the Korean BBQ places. Finally got to checkout this AYCE sushi place with my gf. It's in the old Todai location. Many hit & miss items on the menu. Some oddities related to the venue. Service was good at 2pm on a Saturday. There seems to be a menu price increase. Firstly, for first timers, park in the parking structure on Ena Road. If you see the sign "Cove Kitchen" then you know you're in the right place. That's the name of this food conglomerate that includes Kan Sushi. Scan the parking QR code on the wall and it takes you to parkwhiz.com where you enter your license plate etc. It costs $13.57 total for 2 hours of parking. Confusingly, when you enter the restaurant from the parking garage, it takes you directly in of front of Pizza Pie & Kayak Cafe (all owned by the same owner as Kan Sushi). Kan Sushi will be on your right side. Strangely, you got to flag down someone to let them know you want to be seated because there was no host manning the Main Street entrance kiosk. This place is spacious. We were seated by the large windows so the lighting was great in the mid afternoon. Our server was ok. There was a thick accent but we were able to understand ok. There was no greeting like "how you folks doing today" and just ordering protocol. We came after the busy lunch time traffic so it was relatively slow and our food came out relatively quick. We initially ordered 5 menu items at once and added on as we went. Our server came at intervals to take more food orders but did not refill water or clean table. The AYCE menu is now 2 tiered and the premium upgrade is 20 bucks more. (Regular $38.95 and Premium $58.95). That's a steep jump to Premium and I'm not sure it was worth it. Here's our impressions: Premium Soft Shell Crab (4x) 8/10 Premium Cholesteroll 8/10 Premium Tuna Carpaccio 6/10 Premium Salmon Carpaccio 7/10 Premium Mt. Fuji Roll 4/10 Regular Dragon Roll 8/10 Regular Inari Crab meat 3/10 Regular Beef Bulgogi 8/10 Food was about $130 but with tax, tip and adding parking was around $173 for two people. Notable was the Tip "Suggestions" on the bill skipped 10%, 15% or 20% and started from 18% and jumped to 22% and 25%. Seemed more like a forced tip suggestion. No dessert on menu. Server suggested go to Gelato & Chill downstairs and get a 10% discount if you show Kan Sushi receipt. Probably won't be back because the Premium priced menu didn't match the food quality. read more

Food was okay- honestly pretty solid considering the "all you can eat" aspect. The one thing I cannot get over is the abysmal service. This was by far the worst service experience I have went through at any restaurant ever. I don't know if it's poor management or short staffing or poor management causing the short staffing, but I noticed each staff member doing multiple jobs and working themselves very hard. Our total dine in time was right at 3 hours which is absurd when on vacation and having plenty of other things you want to get to. What capped it off was a mix up on the payment and the "manager" just telling us our bill is 20$ cheaper because it was "easier this way" instead of "sorry for the wait we did XYZ to help." The bill had a 10$ tip added onto it without consent to us- the customer- which made the 20$ less a blatant lie. Would've had no issue tipping our server, Kyle, 30% at least due to how extremely hard he was working. I think the management here is the real issue and we will not be back when there are plenty of other outstanding spots to eat in Hawaii. read more

We arrived a little after they opened at 11:00 am and were able to walk right in and be seated. We did park in the parking structure. Be careful when walking in the stairwell that leads into the restaurant. It is not very well lit. My friend fell when she missed a step down. The food itself was great! We had the premium AYCE so we went all out on trying everything. Our server, Emily, was excellent! She seemed to be the only one waiting on everyone but she was holding her own. Service aside it needs improvement , my daughter in law had to ask 3 times for her dish and was told that it was out of stock. Had to wait for her shrimp sushi over ten mins. Well it's good for those under a budget , price wise is reasonable, however for good sushi , this would not be good place to be dining for good sushi .
