If you're staying near Hilton Hawaiian Village, do yourself a favor and walk across the street to Kan Sushi Hawaii. The fish was incredibly fresh, the service was friendly and attentive, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. Every roll and sashimi dish tasted high-quality and beautifully prepared. A special shout-out to Emily, our server, who was fantastic. She was friendly, attentive, and helped make the experience even more enjoyable with her great recommendations and excellent service. Whether you're a local or visiting Waikiki, Kan Sushi is absolutely worth a visit. Come hungry and leave happy...you won't be disappointed!

We went for lunch at $28.95 AYCE sushi (excluding the premium stuff) on a Sunday morning at 11 AM as soon as they opened. No lines. PROS: - very sweet server, very friendly - excellent price in Waikiki, or anywhere, for an AYCE! - everything tasted fresh - large selection of seating choices CONS: - frequently missing or messed up orders. My baked lobster roll went to another table and they tried to give us miso soup we didn't order. - extremely long waits for some items, inconsistently. For example, my Hot and Fresh roll came within a few minutes, but for my second order, it took over 35 minutes; the waitress was nice enough to pack it up for me to go since I wasn't happy about it. My co-worker said her record wait-time for sushi was 45 minutes for one order, I guess this is par for the course, given the hundreds of orders people place and can get mixed up, wrong, or not even show up. - water refills were not given automatically, we had to ask, and all three of our glasses were completely empty. Asking anyone other than our server went on deaf ears and completely flat affect with no response. NEUTRAL: - parking is available but it's pricey for local standards at $6.00/hr at Canterbury Place. If you want free parking, you'll have to go on a Sunday and walk from the streets, at the Ala Wai Small Boat Harbor near the beach (limited free stalls), or buy something at Ala Moana Shopping Center and then walk to Kan Sushi (about an 18 min walk, but faster if you cut to the left of the Ala Wai Canal along the Ala Wai Blvd, right on Lipe'epe'e Street, modified left onto Hobron Lane (stop by Kulu Kulu cakes on Hobron before you go home), right onto Ena lane and left onto Ala Moana Blvd and Kan is right around the corner. TIPS: - you can supposedly order 4 things at a time, per person. If they let you order more, I'd go ahead and do it, since we were the first people into the restaurant, and the 8th to leave due to food coming out slowly or not at all. A huge group of about 25 people came in soon after, and that could have had something to do with it. - order the meats first since they come out first (and fast to cook compared to making a sushi roll by hand), then order the rolls. - make sure you stop by Kulu Kulu for sweets and pastries on Hobron Lane (walking distance) for a sweet treat after. I hear there is an ice cream shop underneath the building that Kan Sushi sits on, but Kulu Kulu is a well-deserved treat if you are willing to splurge for top-notch, 5- star sweets.

This AYCE restaurant combines my two favorite loves - Korean BBQ and sushi! The restaurant is right across from Fort DeRussy and diagonal to the Hilton Hawaiian Village. There is ample parking in the parking garage right behind the restaurant. We got here early (around 6pm) on a weekday. The place was not crowded yet but a flood of customers came in shortly after we arrived. The service was friendly but slow. There was only one server handling an entire section of around ten tables so we had to wait quite a while for our drinks and food to arrive. There needed to be at least one more server or server assistant to handle the multiple requests from guests. However, our server was patient and handled himself well. He knew we were waiting for quite a while to get our food and made sure to apologize and give us updates on the wait. The food was excellent. I wish I had taken more pictures but I was way too busy stuffing my mouth with all this goodness! There is a nice selection of meats, side dishes, and sushi rolls. You can upgrade to the premium meats for $20.00 more to get wagyu and other specials, however, we felt satisfied with the regular menu selections. Keep in mind that if one person decides to upgrade, everyone on the table has to upgrade is well. The price is reasonable ($38.95) and I much rather go here than Gens any day! Definitely will be back for more sushi and korean bbq!

Our first time here with our Ohana so let be break it down for sushi & meat connoisseurs. A table for 7 and Joseph took care of us. Celebrated two birthdays and we cleared 20 dishes of different sushi-Tom & Jerry; dynamite sushi; Tiger roll, California rolls, Roli Poli (guessing); fried oyster, fried squid, shrimp tempura, Hawaiian Steak, grilled pork belly; Kalbi; cucumber salad, -like I said, we ate! Joseph helped us with recommendations to try & it didn't disappoint. Mahalo to Joseph & crew at Kan Sushi!! Ohhh can't forget the sushi chefs!!!

Came here for an early dinner surprisingly not much wait for walk-in on a Saturday. Ordered our sushi, crunch roll, dragon roll, tiger roll, yam bam cruncher and salmon and shrimp nigiri, takoyaki, kalbi and whole bunch more. I'm pleased with how fast the service was. The rolls came out quickly back to back with each order probably because it wasn't super busy. All rolls were pretty tasty. Minus one star just because this is the first time ive had bones in dragon rolls or any rolls with unagi on it. Yes i know fish comes with bones but I would assume higher quality sushi restaurants usually take out the bone. Sakura doesn't have any bones in their unagi. I had a bone stuck in my throat but I didn't overreact in the restaurant but while driving home I had to pull over to try and take it out because it got painful with every swallow. Ambiance is nice, restaurant and bathrooms are clean. Nothing too fancy. Nice and casual.

I absolutely love Kan Sushi! I ate here recently for the first time. It was my cheat meal for the week and I'm so glad we went here to fufill my sushi craving. It was a recommendation from a friend and was also rated pretty good on Yelp. I saw a video on Youtube as well and that's what sealed the deal for me. We ate here on a Saturday night around 7pm. I saw on Yelp that they don't take reservations over the phone for parties under 6 people so we had to do a walk in reservation only. We parked next door under the old Wailana Coffee House Restaurant since I heard it was cheaper than parking under Kan Sushi. I checked in at the front desk and our wait time was only 25mins. They take your phone # so that they can notify you via text message when your table was ready. We just waited outside until it was our turn and there was a good amount of people waiting too. They send you a link so that you can see what your position is in line on the waiting list just in case you want to explore the shops near by. While walking in, we noticed that the restaurant was really full. Waiters were running around and it seemed that our waiter was super busy so one of the managers took our order initially so that we didn't have to wait too long. We decided to go with the Premium AYCE price since we were ready to eat everything we could on the menu and the premium included the A5 Wagyu and Uni. Sadly, they were out of the A5 but we had free reign over everything else on the menu minus the drinks. We ordered about 7 items each for the first round and then ordered more as we finished each dish. Here's the list of everything we tried: Tunapeno Roll Bonnie and Clyde Roll Cholesteroll (Manager Recommendation) Sea Salt Edamame Spicy Beef Gyoza Shrimp Tempura Takoyaki Garlic Pork Bun Jalapeno Bomb Beef Bulgogi Hawaiian Steak Spicy Pork Bulgogi Baked Mussels Korean Chicken Wings Tuna Tataki Premium Sashimi Platter Negitoro Gunkan Cucumber Salad Micro Spring Salad Seaweed Salad Yellowtail Carpaccio Sweet Green Tea I'm probably missing a few others but overall, everything we had did not disappoint at all! All of these dishes were delicious and I'm glad I didn't get too many rolls or I would have been too stuffed to eat anything else. There were only 2 of us at our table and we ate everything I listed plus some I ordered more than once. We were super satisfied with our experience here. They don't have a dessert menu but that sweet green tea was a nice little treat in between bites. The waiter that was assigned to us did an awesome job keeping up with our orders and making sure we didn't go thirsty. The price was worth it at $60 per person! I will keep coming back here and can't wait for our next dine in at Kan Sushi! I already recommended them many times to friends and family and might be coming back with a larger party in the future. I know there are plenty of comments in the reviews saying that their customer service isn't the best but we saw that they actually are trying to improve and do better. We didn't wait too long for anything and got everything we ordered. Food and drinks came quickly so we were in and out in less than an hour. I highly recommend this restaurant to all you sushi lovers. It's the best All You Can Eat Sushi establishment on the island! Thanks again Kan Sushi! We'll see you in the future for more!

We been seating there more than 30 minutes waiting for foods, and complained twice . Food still not show up. Not worth it.

Honestly best sushi I've tried in a long time loved the service and so neat and clean I would come here again whenever I visit Hawaii again my daughter also loved there gyuke pork and the crunchy rolls honestly never been happier now just to enjoy the rest of my day with a good nap thank you so much again service amazing

Food is amazing! BUT service is crap! Server Sarah is terrible. She took our order and sat down next to us while she took it, she leaned over the table to take the rest of our orders smashing my boyfriend towards the wall, took forever to bring water, stuffed her mouth with food then came back to our table spitting food everywhere, instead of putting chopsticks on the table she tossed it, she put an order of rolls that we did not order we told her 'no we didn't order that' and she replied with " oh it's to late I already put it in". It was just really unprofessional! I tired calling instead just to bring it to a managers attention but was on hold for a host for an hour ‍ don't get me wrong you guys should try kan sushi but if u sit in Sarah's section switch servers immediately!

Here we are at it again... and Kan Sushi still delivers every single time. With Kendal and the manager running the show, you honestly can't go wrong. The same staff, same menu, but somehow the food tastes even better each visit. The vibe is consistent, the service is on point, and the dishes come out fresh and flavorful. If you haven't been yet, y'all seriously need to get down here. This place stays winning. Marie

What a lovely all you can eat sushi experience! I had sushi with my husband last night and we ordered the Snowflake salmon (that was delicious!) creamy S&S, after rain roll, Bonnie and Clyde roll and a crunchy roll. I loved the after rain roll, creamy S&S and Snowflake salmon! The Bonnie and Clyde was really nice too! I was worried it was going to be too spicy for me but it had a nice kick, nothing too spicy. I was looking forward to the Yam Bam roll but didn't know that the sweet potato was on the outside of the roll and not on the inside. My mistake for not paying attention but it was still good! Our server Ryan was great, even when I dropped two forks on the floor in a row. My only suggestion would be to have a spoon to scoop up the sushi since chopsticks are kinda hard for me. Overall it was a lovely experience with beautiful interiors and a quiet atmosphere!

The cucumber was also perfect and it's amazing how everything was so crisp on the outside yet soft on the inside! The crab pasta was a standout. You can just eat it as is with the pasta and it just was absolutely delicious. They give you an option if you want some blue crab garnish on the pasta - make sure to say yes. The crab adds such a nice kick to the creaminess of the pasta. Did I also mention how big the portion was!? You could probably order the crab pasta and another entree to share with friends. Dessert was unique. The flan was rich and the lychee was a delicious side. The popcorn ice cream was very different than what I'm used to. The ice cream has a very grainy texture with the accents of popcorn. The butter mochi was standard but a good additional texture for the popcorn ice cream. Not too sure if I would order that again, but the flan was definitely my favorite dessert of the meal. Ambiance is a darker mood with dim lighting. I'm sure there are factors behind the scenes that guests don't see, but it was a bit confusing from a customer perspective. Thankfully, our server more than made up for the rocky start. She was friendly, attentive, and offered great recommendations throughout the evening. We started with the BBQ ribs, which were very tender and flavorful, though slightly sweeter than my personal preference. For our entrees, we ordered three fish dishes, a burger, and some sushi. When we asked our server for her favorite fish, she recommended the Kampachi, so we ordered it prepared three different ways--grilled, sautéed, and steamed. About 15 minutes later, she returned to apologize and let us know they only had enough Kampachi for two orders. It was a little surprising to hear a featured protein was nearly sold out so early in the evening, especially at a restaurant in this price range. We adjusted our order and selected a different fish for my sister. Overall, the food was good and well-prepared, although a bit pricey in my opinion. The experience was somewhat of a mixed bag--from the initial wait and limited fish availability to excellent service and enjoyable food. In the end, the company, conversation, and outstanding service outweighed the negatives. We made sure to thank our server and left her a well-deserved 20% tip. As always, this review reflects my personal experience on a specific day and time. While there are plenty of other restaurants I'd still like to try, I wouldn't rule out returning in the future.

However as each course came out, we were blown away and didn't know how the restaurant was not way busier for a Saturday night! Each dish/course was well thought out and prepared to perfection. We were all taken by surprise in a great way. The head chef Anthony was very passionate and excited about his work and that was very refreshing! Overall a wonderful experience and we will be back!

The progression of dishes felt thoughtful and creative-- * Crispy Salt & Vinegar Chicken Skin (the perfect starter crunch) * Soupe de Poisson (deep, comforting flavors) * Pina Colada Granita (a refreshing palate cleanser) * Pan Seared Scallops (my personal favorite--perfectly caramelized and tender) * Double Cut Rack of Lamb (succulent and cooked to perfection) * Lemon Crème Brûlée Tart (a sweet, bright finish) Every plate was elegant, well-executed, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere strikes a balance between sophisticated and welcoming. Dim lighting, intimate tables, and quiet elegance make you feel like you've stepped into a hidden gem in the middle of Kaimuki. Honestly, I felt like a celebrity dining here. Service was polished but never pretentious--our server was attentive, knowledgeable about the courses, and kept the pacing of the meal just right. For the level of creativity and execution, Carte Blanche feels like an affordable luxury in Honolulu's dining scene. Perfect for anniversaries, date nights, or anytime you want an elevated experience without flying to the mainland. Highly recommend booking a reservation--you'll want to savor every moment here.

The service was flawless, the food was the best i've ever had, and the drinks were stellar. Restaurant ambience is a little weird. I prefer the bar to the tables. I think it's where we were sitting, but still a surprise given the cozy vibe. Food was solid, but we were slightly disappointed with the caviar as it was explained that it was going to be like an egg salad Sammie. But it was just the caviar on a toast. Perhaps the server wasn't really sure how to explain it, but since caviar are essentially eggs, I guess it was a non traditional egg salad. We had finished almost finished our starters by the time I got my wine so that was disappointing. It was packed and it didn't seem like there was enough servers, but certain tables got extra attention. Like they didn't wait long for food or drinks. We ordered everything all at once but had to reorder the dessert because the server forgot to put in it. I wanted to end with some tea, but the server forgot. Overall, the food is solid, but the service leaves something to be desired.

I WISH I COULD GIVE MORE STARS!!!! WORTH THE PRICE! FOOD AND SERVICE IS OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!…read more Okay seriously, I've been to a ton of expensive high end restaurants and none have impressed me like this Morimoto's. When I tell you everything that came out was amazing.... Holy moly it was SO TASTY. EVERYTHING! I was even impressed with the fried rice with how much they served and how much was in it. I personally loved the fish carpaccio, rib eye, hamachi kama, wok vegetables and malasadas for dessert. The orange chicken was my least favorite but it was still good. Oh and the STICKY RIBS...... you HAVE to get them. So crispy yet tender.... I loved how everything we had bursted in my mouth with flavor and was something I couldn't make to that level at home. Service was amazing like any other fine dining restaurant, but for the first time, I felt like this one was worth the money for how good the food was. I will definitely be back!

My bad review is entirely based on how terrible the food was. For context, we ordered Tonkatsu…read moreramen and Tsukemen dipping ramen. Ramen, according to the server, was the most popular thing on the menu, so how likely could it get messed up? Tonkatsu: Rich, but lacked any salt or had very little. We requested some salt and that instantly made the ramen better. The noodles had enough salt to carry it, but the broth was not great. It tasted like the broth was watered down or reconstituted, however no seasoning was added to re-adjust the broth. Broth: Had little salt and lacked punch, umami, and was brown instead of white. Noodles: Had enough salt to taste good, but was slightly overcooked Pork: Extremely bland. Tasted like zero salt was added during cooking. Toppings: Greatly lacking in toppings Tsukemen: The Tsukemen had a lot of the same issues. Now being a dipping ramen, the broth should be even richer and more flavorful than any normal ramen. Tsukemen -- no matter where you have it in Japan, should be richer and saltier than most broths, but the broth here was severely lacking. For $26 a bowl this was worse than your DIY frozen ramen packs. Now I'm not asking for Japan-level of ramen mastery here, this is after all, just a tourist spot -- but if your Tonkatsu is the best selling item, you have to step it up. Our server did mention that some people complained about the amount of salt in ramen, so they adjusted it. But dare I say, instead of diluting the normal salt/seasoning amount for everyone, couldn't you just add a separate, flavor-light version for people inexperienced with ramen, instead of diluting the original for everyone else? If you're reading this Mr. Morimoto, I would highly encourage you to fly here and order the ramen. I think you and I would share the same opinions. P.S. I've also been to your other Morimoto spots and it was not this bad.

The service was phenomenal from start to finish, which made the whole experience even better. I ordered the Beast Bowl, and it was rich, hearty, and packed with flavor. The bowl comes with brisket, short ribs, and oxtail won tons, along with bean sprouts, wakame, sesame seeds, green onion, ginger, and a soft egg. The broth was savory and comforting, the meat was tender, and the toppings added a nice balance of texture and freshness. Definitely a satisfying bowl if you want something bold, warm, and filling. Great spot for ramen, drinks, and a relaxed meal downtown.
