First off it took me forever to figure out that this place was opened...because the open sign is so tiny and not let properly. It wasn't until I walked up to the door and actually looked in I saw the staff and a few other people go inside. Now as many of these places on a strip mall situation it is a tiny space. They definitely made due with the space they had work for them. Nobody will greet up and I learned that the hard way. Because I didn't know how the system worked I just grabbed the form, sat down, marked what I wanted and handed it to the only women that seemed to work there. She asked me was it to go. I was like no...so she then proceeded to take me to a sitting area near the back and gave me a menu. Because I was so hungry and wanted a little bit of everything I opted to finally try the soft shell crab appetizer which was not good at all unfortunately. Tasted really burnt and was very small. I then got the plum wine...very sweet like I remember, tuna roll, Philly roll, spic yellow with cream cheese, and fatty tuna belly. All rolls tasted amazing and fresh so that was a plus for me! By and all I will definitely be back to same other rolls and get more of that cold plum wine...

Stopped by for lunch before a dress fitting in the area. We were the only people inside. The host did not appear to want business and did not go out of her way to be hospitable. The food was simply ok, nothing out of this world. Would skip this spot in the future.

Friendly service, great cocktails, and standard prices. Nice ambience in a small restaurant. The food good but nothing exceptional. Definitely worth it as a neighborhood sushi and Thai food option.

Loved the food here! I started off with the best miso soup I have ever had. Then I had the sashimi appetizer which was a nice size portion. Then I had the spider roll. It was only 6 pieces. I took off one star because the soft fried crap was so small on the roll that I couldn't even see it. It was mostly stuffed with fake crab. I will definitely be back!

Small restaurant but delicious sushi! We ordered gyoza and 4 rolls of sushi. The service was awesome as we were the only customers in the restaurant at the time.

Super fresh and delicious lunch spot. I got the sushi and sashimi lunch special that comes with miso soup for $18. Loved every second of it! My pictures don't do this one justice. Looking forward to heading back again

Hello world! I need help to get food from this restaurant! Is it better if I get separate plates or should I ask for a whole mixed tray??? SOS

If you order multiple sushi rolls, they usually plate them together - even if you order different ones. You'll have to let them know if you want it separate. Hope that helps!

Service was friendly and completely on point. You gotta love a restaurant when the moment you've drained your ice water, your server is immediately there with a refill. Taiko has a huge menu, pretty much catering to anything you might hanker. I noticed that in addition to traditional Japanese fare, there were Chinese and Thai dishes as well. For starters we went with the shumai, miso soup and harumaki. The shumai was very good, though I'm a little less certain about the vinegary dipping sauce that came with the shumai. The miso soup was good and we liked the finely diced tofu in it. Harumaki are crispy spring rolls, and we liked these too. We also ordered an eel roll. It had been broiled and with the sauce on it was very tasty. JP's entrée was the Pork Katsu bento box. The pork katsu was excellent and so were the California rolls that came with the box. The bento box also came with miso soup and a side salad. My entrée was the Beef Udon. Very attractively presented, it had a smoky flavor and was packed with beef along with bits of asparagus and zucchini. It was pretty good. We were pleasantly surprised at the end of our meal to receive complementary scoops of a delicious vanilla ice cream. Considering the excellent service, big menu and good food, I'm going with five stars.

As I was taking a walk I happened to pass by Yamazato Sushi and Spice and said why not. BTW, I LOVE sushi and can be a harsh critic. I started with an order of shumai (6 petite pieces) and knew the rest of my meal would be excellent. It was flavorful, sumptuous with just the right amount of crisp and softness. One of the things I always struggle with at a sushi restaurant is portion size. Mostly on the "too small" size but sometimes on the "too big" In this case it was borderline perfect and bordering on the larger piece. Legit 2-bite nigiri, with the rolls being cut for a mouthful, but not quite embarrassing. As per my usual I enjoyed an ebi, hamachi and unagi on the nigiri side and my roll was the Volcano. Yum, Yum, Yum and YUMMM! All good, all fresh, all nicely prepared. Washed it all down with an unfiltered cold saki and was completely content and satisfied. The ambience was open and inviting and the restaurant was mostly full with more people arriving (always a good sign). The service was friendly, efficient and helpful, so a big shoutout to Min. And a BIG thank you to Steve, the owner, who was gracious enough to spend some time with me and chat before I departed. Looking forward to returning the next time I make my way back to the DC area. Since the reservation form asked if we were celebrating anything, I hoped we would be placed in a special area or at least somewhere more intimate. Unfortunately, that was not the case. We were led up a staircase, which offered a cool view of the environment, but ended up at a small table in a small high traffic area. Initially, we thought it was a unique experience because of the restaurant's interior design, but we soon realized it was going to be uncomfortable...because heat rises and we were stuck upstairs with so many other people who seemed just as warm as us. It was excessively hot, and I found myself fanning myself with one of the menus at the table. While our server was probably trying his best, the service left much to be desired. We were eager to leave as soon as we arrived. After ordering and enjoying what we could of our meals, which were quite good, we just wanted to leave. However, our server was absent for a long time, leaving us stuck at the table. Instead of being a cute little anniversary dinner, it just turned out to be a disappointing experience at a new restaurant

Eggs & Sushi is one of those hideouts and if you're not careful, might end up eating 7k calories before you leave. You'll only know this place exists if you live or work in the Lorton area where Eggs & Sushi stands firm. If not for Google Maps, you may drive on by without a thought. I stopped because their simple sign but just some quirky in a strange way caught my eye and it's in the middle of a warehouse street where you would not expect food places to be. Surprisingly, there are always little cafes in these kind of places that feed the immediate workers there. They are sometimes the hidden gems nobody will hear about unless you work in that area. This is one of them. Walking in, it feels like a small diner, yellow walls, lots of menu above the grill area displayed on multiple screens, properly lit dining area. They take orders at the end and at a kiosk as well. Window seats, couple of tables, and some bar seats also. Seems simple enough but this place is the ultimate trap for the hungry. Be careful! When you look up, you realize they have a vast menu and varied in the most fantastic way. You have your generic American style food, eggs, pancakes, french toast, sausage, sandwiches, coffee, smoothie, an all day breakfast menu. Then you keep walking around to look at the menu, you see sushi, rolls, poke bowls, ramen, some dons, etc. You might think, hmm, they might be overloaded on the menu. Wrong! They make fantastic sandwiches! Smaller not overpriced ramen but with lots of oomph flavor! These guys bring the umami and drip it like masters. The dons hit, the ramen hits, the sandwiches hit, and my all time favorite breakfast item, the elegantly simple French toast hits. They are serving hits here and only a few know about it. Service was adequate from their high school kid waiters. The owners at the grill are very friendly if you get a chance to interact with them. Just a very chill ambience. It's diner that makes me want to move to Lorton. If you find yourself here one day, be careful. The menu makes you want to try everything. I haven't touch everything yet so I'm definitely coming back to try more. I just hope all these reviews won't mean I can't find my cozy window seat in the future.

Burton's Grill is your typical all American restaurant but focuses on serving all the dietary needs of Americans with allergies or not. The place looks new, the kind of place you wanna wear clean clothes at a minimum and not look slovenly. Outside sitting, full large bar, sports on several TVs above the center of the bar, and a lot of servers milling around here. Great lighting, not loud but not quiet either, just chill. We were starved so our eyes ate. Brunch was still being served till 3pm on Saturdays and Sundays so I grabbed the French Toast and the Steak and Eggs. My friend had allergies with gluten so she went with a salmon and some super salad dish. She was happy as all the dishes had markers for gluten free, food free, soul free, etc. Very helpful for all allergy infused humans. Great waitress btw. Fantastic service. Food came after some time, we requested for everything to come out on time. Steak and egg was okay but I'd go with the prime rib next time. The steak came out sliced with 2 poached eggs on top. The hash on the side was on point. Salmon okay too. Salad was okay but we should have added a protein on top. A little dry on dressing maybe but we could have requested more so that's on us. On the other hand, the French toast had me scratching my head. It was cubed challah bread but eggs was 0, zero, nada eggs on it. I thought I was eating croutons which would have gone great with the super salad dish thinking about it now. The French toast really bunched up my undies, French toast is my favorite breakfast thing you see. They explained it was prepped that way for allergy sake due to the egg. Well, I'm not allergic and never said I was, but my friend was but she wasn't eating my dish so why make it in this fashion. Overall, this experience was just okay. Nice environment and service but I realized how lucky I am not to be allergic cause if I have to eat French toast like this forever, I'm not sure what to do. Definitely not up to eating croutons with syrup.
