First off it took me forever to figure out that this place was opened...because the open sign is so tiny and not let properly. It wasn't until I walked up to the door and actually looked in I saw the staff and a few other people go inside. Now as many of these places on a strip mall situation it is a tiny space. They definitely made due with the space they had work for them. Nobody will greet up and I learned that the hard way. Because I didn't know how the system worked I just grabbed the form, sat down, marked what I wanted and handed it to the only women that seemed to work there. She asked me was it to go. I was like no...so she then proceeded to take me to a sitting area near the back and gave me a menu. Because I was so hungry and wanted a little bit of everything I opted to finally try the soft shell crab appetizer which was not good at all unfortunately. Tasted really burnt and was very small. I then got the plum wine...very sweet like I remember, tuna roll, Philly roll, spic yellow with cream cheese, and fatty tuna belly. All rolls tasted amazing and fresh so that was a plus for me! By and all I will definitely be back to same other rolls and get more of that cold plum wine...

Stopped by for lunch before a dress fitting in the area. We were the only people inside. The host did not appear to want business and did not go out of her way to be hospitable. The food was simply ok, nothing out of this world. Would skip this spot in the future.

Friendly service, great cocktails, and standard prices. Nice ambience in a small restaurant. The food good but nothing exceptional. Definitely worth it as a neighborhood sushi and Thai food option.

Loved the food here! I started off with the best miso soup I have ever had. Then I had the sashimi appetizer which was a nice size portion. Then I had the spider roll. It was only 6 pieces. I took off one star because the soft fried crap was so small on the roll that I couldn't even see it. It was mostly stuffed with fake crab. I will definitely be back!

Small restaurant but delicious sushi! We ordered gyoza and 4 rolls of sushi. The service was awesome as we were the only customers in the restaurant at the time.

Super fresh and delicious lunch spot. I got the sushi and sashimi lunch special that comes with miso soup for $18. Loved every second of it! My pictures don't do this one justice. Looking forward to heading back again

Ask the Community - Kana Sushi

Hello world! I need help to get food from this restaurant! Is it better if I get separate plates or should I ask for a whole mixed tray??? SOS

If you order multiple sushi rolls, they usually plate them together - even if you order different ones. You'll have to let them know if you want it separate. Hope that helps!

Service was friendly and completely on point. You gotta love a restaurant when the moment you've drained your ice water, your server is immediately there with a refill. Taiko has a huge menu, pretty much catering to anything you might hanker. I noticed that in addition to traditional Japanese fare, there were Chinese and Thai dishes as well. For starters we went with the shumai, miso soup and harumaki. The shumai was very good, though I'm a little less certain about the vinegary dipping sauce that came with the shumai. The miso soup was good and we liked the finely diced tofu in it. Harumaki are crispy spring rolls, and we liked these too. We also ordered an eel roll. It had been broiled and with the sauce on it was very tasty. JP's entrée was the Pork Katsu bento box. The pork katsu was excellent and so were the California rolls that came with the box. The bento box also came with miso soup and a side salad. My entrée was the Beef Udon. Very attractively presented, it had a smoky flavor and was packed with beef along with bits of asparagus and zucchini. It was pretty good. We were pleasantly surprised at the end of our meal to receive complementary scoops of a delicious vanilla ice cream. Considering the excellent service, big menu and good food, I'm going with five stars.

Eggs & Sushi is one of those hideouts and if you're not careful, might end up eating 7k calories before you leave. You'll only know this place exists if you live or work in the Lorton area where Eggs & Sushi stands firm. If not for Google Maps, you may drive on by without a thought. I stopped because their simple sign but just some quirky in a strange way caught my eye and it's in the middle of a warehouse street where you would not expect food places to be. Surprisingly, there are always little cafes in these kind of places that feed the immediate workers there. They are sometimes the hidden gems nobody will hear about unless you work in that area. This is one of them. Walking in, it feels like a small diner, yellow walls, lots of menu above the grill area displayed on multiple screens, properly lit dining area. They take orders at the end and at a kiosk as well. Window seats, couple of tables, and some bar seats also. Seems simple enough but this place is the ultimate trap for the hungry. Be careful! When you look up, you realize they have a vast menu and varied in the most fantastic way. You have your generic American style food, eggs, pancakes, french toast, sausage, sandwiches, coffee, smoothie, an all day breakfast menu. Then you keep walking around to look at the menu, you see sushi, rolls, poke bowls, ramen, some dons, etc. You might think, hmm, they might be overloaded on the menu. Wrong! They make fantastic sandwiches! Smaller not overpriced ramen but with lots of oomph flavor! These guys bring the umami and drip it like masters. The dons hit, the ramen hits, the sandwiches hit, and my all time favorite breakfast item, the elegantly simple French toast hits. They are serving hits here and only a few know about it. Service was adequate from their high school kid waiters. The owners at the grill are very friendly if you get a chance to interact with them. Just a very chill ambience. It's diner that makes me want to move to Lorton. If you find yourself here one day, be careful. The menu makes you want to try everything. I haven't touch everything yet so I'm definitely coming back to try more. I just hope all these reviews won't mean I can't find my cozy window seat in the future.

We stumble in grab some shoyu, miso, seaweek salad, takoyaki, karaage, and tiramisu at the end. This place feels like a Japanese version of a Pho shop. Clean restaurant and clean bathrooms. Service was good, straigh forward, skip all the pleasantries. No Bars here but there is a connected space where you can get matcha drinks and boba but its matcha. Everything was matcha. If you're into that stuff, then that's a matcha for you. Ramens were okay. Broth was blowing my mind in flavor. I would say the depth was not too deep but this will work for a cold night. Karaage was okay. Takoyaki lacked impact in flavor also, missing the oomf! Seaweed salad was good but I'm not gonna rave about seaweed salad. We wrapped things up with the tiramisu cake. Oh boy, that was a surprise. It fell flat. The layers were overcooked and had a tough bite. I expect tiramisu to have a tender bite to it. We didn't finish that slice of cake. Well, we left full but half fulfilled. Was it worth it? Not really. If you need ramen and cup o noodles isn't cutting it, this is an option. Then again, there are options.

Atmosphere: Tucked into a quiet Kingstown strip mall. Interior is nice if not a bit dated and dark. They seem to only have hibachi tables, and when we arrived, it was empty (we did also have a reservation). It got much busier earlier, and I think that is because it takes time to move people in and out with the hibachi. Service: The greeter and server were excellent. We observed some other hibachi chefs who seemed fun and engaged. Our chef, however, seemed really checked out and was not into doing the whole shtick. Here's where I lowered my rating from a 4.5 or even a 5 to a 3 - My wife and I are allergic to shellfish, and my mother doesn't eat shrimp because it's not kosher. The server asked us about dietary restrictions, and we noted right away that we wanted our shrimp that comes with each meal to go to my father, the only member of our party who eats it. We also requested that the rest of the food be cooked further away from the shrimp and not make direct contact, etc. We also repeated this request to the chef again when he started preparing our meal. Despite this, he proceeded to prepare the shrimp with it touching the chicken and beef, and used the same hibachi utensil the entire time, moving between the shrimp and the other meats and veggies without care. Luckily, we don't have a strong contact response , but my throat did feel itchy after the meal. I think this was a reasonable request and one that has been accommodated at every other hibachi restaurant I have ever been to - at Disney, they simply accommodated us by cooking the shrimp after everything else was done and served. The only 'care' our chef took here was omitting the part of the service where shrimp pieces are tossed. On top of this, the food was much greasier than even the average hibachi. Tons of butter - I also thought the way the chef dipped his used grill utensils into a huge vat of butter was unsanitary and likely against code. Everything tasted okay in the moment, but two of us got sick after - not sure if this was from the food safety or the sheer amount of butter and oil. Chicken was flavorful but dry. Steak was flavorful but tough. Veggies were very good. I enjoyed my hot saki and my wife enjoyed her Kirin. Soup and salad are served with the meal. I was surprised that the soup was a clear chicken broth and not miso as is traditional. It was very plain and flavorless. Overall, I would not recommend this place, despite there being fewer and fewer hibachi options around where you get the full grill experience.
