DD and I went here based on a recommendation from someone else. They normally do pick up. We chose to eat in. It is a no nonsense interior with only a few tables. Pick up is clearly what most folks do. We ordered a few basic rolls (spicy tuna and eel) and a couple more complex ones, Dragon Roll, Volcano etc. Sushi was fresh, large portions and came very quickly. They gave us miso soup and a small salad as well. We enjoyed the food and I would definitely get food there again. It is clear there are a lot of repeat customers. It's around $11 or $12 for 2 huge rolls: I chose tuna crunch and shrimp tempura rolls, and it comes with a MISO SOUP!!!!!! Great sushi! Less overall variety but really solid sushi with quality. Spicy is a bit spicy for me but likely would make the average person happy. One time they texted my delivery had arrived and included a "rawr-ing" dinosaur emoji which was hilarious. My only gripe is they stop talking immune orders at 8. Definitely a hidden gem - wish I had discovered this place sooner!!! It's a great quick lunch spot and carryout joint - the menu is varied enough that you'll find something you'll enjoy. Haven't tried everything on the menu, but for the most part the sushi rolls and sake/tekka/hamachi dons are pretty spot on and the katsu freshly made isn't bad! My only (small) complaint is that the curry on the katsu curry isn't quite authentic Japanese, not beef based and seemingly missing some more complex spices, I'm surprised I figured they would use S&B paste or something similar, but it's not Japanese style curry. Have yet to try the ramen, but from the looks of it the runny egg, noodles and pork all look decent enough. I wish we lived closer as I'd be in here all the time! Japanese comfort food on a budget. You can't compare this place to a high-end sushi spot where you are paying top dollar for the quality. This is budget sushi and for that price, they do a pretty good job. I usually order their curry pork katsu bowl. The curry they use has a unique flavor to it, slightly spicy and so addicting when drenched in the rice. A dish that's under $10 and makes you full? 5 star in my opinion. Their unagidon is pretty good too and that's normally $18-20+ at the more expensive Japanese restaurants. If I wanted a luxurious sit-down experience, I'd go to some place in DC and pay an arm and a leg. But if I want Japanese food I could eat everyday and satisfies my cravings then Rawr Sushi is the place. I'll definitely be ordering more from them during this quarantine. WOW! I am so impressed with my sushi today!! I went ahead and (kind of) went overboard...and ordered a sushi platter (highly recommended by fellow reviewers #thankyou). It was definitely a great way to try a few different roles that this restaurant offers. Also they have three different sushi platters available. I ordered Platter #2: It came with 48 pieces of spicy crunchy tuna, spicy crunchy salmon, tuna sushi, salmon sushi, dragon roll, California roll, and a bunch of individual pieces of sushi. Not a SINGLE ingredient was skimped. The avocado was a thick chunk, the fish tasted incredible and was provided generously. The ginger and wasabi and plenty of soy sauce came with it. Presentation was awesome, it was easy to serve (It could definitely be served as a party tray- otherwise it looked great on my bed in front of Netflix while I had a grand lunch :) and leftovers for dinner....) I'm highly inclined to say that throughout all of my different sushi experiences in Springfield, this one was the best one yet! In price and quality it cannot be beat. I went ahead and tried PostMates for the first time and got it delivered to my door! No need to speak to a single human being other than stay in my PJs and hide away eating my freshly prepared sushi. A small little hole in the wall. I was looking up some places to check out on Yelp and this spot popped up. The Sushi looked pretty amazing on here and suggested it to my friends. This located won and we decided to meet here for lunch. I'm not exactly sure what my friend ordered because they arrived there before I did and was able to grab us a table and high chair. It is a small space, but plenty of room for 4 per table. For my first time here, it may have seemed like it had a little bit too much going on, but I love the options that they have for their customers. I saw that they offer Ramen orders but...it was honestly too hot to order that. So, I decided on their pork dumpling (fried) and lunch special box (which you got to pick 2 sushi rolls - that were listed on their lunch special options) and it came with a drink and miso soup for $8! Not a bad deal! I decided on their Spicy White Tuna Roll (Escolar) and Spicy Crunchy Salmon Roll. They were really good! As for the miso soup and fried dumplings...I think you would honestly have to try to mess that up haha. Overall, it was delicious and I got my food quicker than expected. One of my favorite budget-friendly Japanese spots. Before coming here, you need to come here expecting a fast-casual experience. Don't expect a 5 star gourmet Michelin star experience. RAWR Sushi is not that. They offer affordable tasty comfort food for the everyday Springfield local eater. With that being said, get the dragon roll and the Curry Chicken Katsu bowl - amazing every time. The Unagidon is worth it if you want to spend. The ramen is not the best in the area, but it's $3-5 dollars less than the legit ramen shops so we can cut them some slack. RAWR Sushi, I'll be back soon! read more

Decided to order tuna avocado and spicy tuna rolls with our pork tonkatsu curry bowls. The sushi was quick and good as usual no complaints here. The pork tonkatsu was great again. Very hot and crispy pork cutlet, and nice thick curry gravy with vegetables over rice. The bowl is super filling and the rolls may have not been needed.
