Beef brisket cooking
Caovinh L.

Kang's kitchen is located at the Rio casino, there is free parking in the garage thankfully. Their AYCE menu is not so big but the meat cuts were really good. The marinated me to specially were quite enjoyable, and there are plenty of complimentary side dishes that you can order that come alongside. Service was okay, but they were kind of slow to get our orders. However they did help grill some of our meats whenever we ordered a lot. One thing I did not like at the end, was that the waiter stood and waited for us to pay the tip. Although the 20% is the suggested tip, they pretty much required us to pay that full amount and even count in the amount we had given in front of us to make sure we gave it to them. Anything short, and they started to complain saying that this is how they make their money. The lighting wasn't the greatest in my honest opinion, I wish there was a bit better lighting since it was somewhat dim. However the lighting was still enough for us to eat. Sometimes it may be hard to tell if the meat was fully cooked or not though. It was overall a good place, but definitely on the pricey side. Being honest, I would unlikely come back again to pay the same price for what you get.

It's starting to feel like the Rio is overpromising and underdelivering on pricey food. Not to refer to other restaurants too much, but the Rio also has an American spot known for quantity over quality, a Mexican spot that underwhelmed me last time, a massive but often quite empty dim sum place. And a steakhouse that they closed to replace. And they have Kang's Kitchen, which was the only real option for me after weekend and convention traffic made the wait times unbearable at my first two options. Luckily, we we able to be seated promptly, and we started to go over the menu. Although they do have an all you can eat option ($58.88), we decided to go with the 2 Combo ($118.88) since we collectively weren't all that hungry. It's designed for two people, but it fed three of us just fine with the 6 proteins and endless banchan (sides). The brisket was in many ways just the best option. It cooked the quickest and went well with any sauces, and I combined it with the unusual corn tortilla option, usual pink radish, and one or two of the sauces (mostly the ssamjang and the sweet glaze) to form a surprisingly fun taco. The boneless galbi was not marinated enough, which simultaneously led to an unimpressive flavor profile and insufficient tenderization. I don't really even remember the finger rib, and all I was drinking was their refreshing iced water. The pork neck and seasoned pork neck were nice, but they cooked them both at once - did I mention they actually cook for you here? - which made them hard to distinguish. The pork belly was not bad for being one of the regular (relatively thick) cuts. There are a wide array of other options. The steamed egg impressed me the most. The japchae (glass noodle) underwhelmed me with its lack of sesame oil. For that matter, there wasn't sesame oil with the dipping salt in our sauce trays. I would've asked for some but the brisket, which it probably best pairs with, evaporated a little quickly. The chopsticks are a little unwieldy due to their flatness. We're all experienced chopsticks users and each had varying levels of difficulty using these oddly shaped utensils. The decor is fine. It's a little less industrial and a little more focused on lighter woods than typical Korean decor. There are fun cartoons on one wall, and photos of raw meat on its counterpart. I couldn't tell you that I remembered any of the music at all. Overall, I appreciated the availability of this restaurant on a busy evening, as well as their compatibility with Rio Rewards, but the quality and pricing both pale in comparison to other options available in Las Vegas, many of which are not far away on Spring Mountain Rd. This is another option that's only for people stuck at the Rio.

I'm leaning closer to a 3.5 star for this place. It's cute and has nice decorations on the wall are nice to stare at, especially as you wait for the staff to assist you. They are very busy and I ultimately can't fault them as they were still nice and tried to help when they could. They switched the grill out multiple times which was great. You will need to be/have someone with you that is the type to call out for help, as ringing the help button will leave you waiting for a long time. The quality of the meat was good for the AYCE. It's a small but good menu. The staff does however bring you kind of anything and not exactly what you ask for if you have a bigger party. I honestly wasn't sure at one point what they were bringing because we'd ask for the X item once, get the meat and when we asked for X item again they'd bring something completely different. I'm not the pickiest person so it didn't matter to me, I was just happy they brought something. Price is obviously pretty high. I think for where it's at, it was a good cost for what you get. I think you could also go ten minutes off away and ultimately spend less for better quality and service even with the Uber costs included. Probably wouldn't come back if I had a choice but wouldn't be against going back if someone prefers to eat at the hotel.

Super fun and yummy spot. My favorite was the bulgogi. Michelle was a fantastic server. She was very attentive and came by often to make sure we had everything we needed. She made great small talk and made us laugh as well. Overall great experience would definitely come back.

I was very happy with my experience at Kang's Kitchen. We were seated immediately and had great service. You can't go wrong with any of their meats but I would recommend that ones that are already marinated for the best flavor. For my party of 4, they gave us two dishes of banchan (3 different kinds of kimchi, potato salad, bean sprouts, salad, stew, etc.). I wish they had cheese corn but other than that, they had a great selection of side dishes. Also, I know we're in Vegas, but the AYCE price was something close to $65/person which is crazy pricey IMO. They have a clean restaurant and fun paintings on the wall. I'd probably rate this a 3.5/5--only taking off 1.5 stars because of the price.

The service was great! Michelle took good care of me and the food was delicious! Potato salad was my fav and all of the veggies and different styles of kimchi too. I'll be sure to come back. Thank you! They also had some nice music playing that made the experience playful and interesting.

Hands down the best BBQ in Vegas. I crave this place often!!!…read more I esp love the burnt ends. The pork ribs and sausage are my next favorite. Brisket is delicious too. You seriously cannot go wrong. I've yet to try the shrimp or turkey or chicken. The sides are all delicious too. My favs are the coleslaw. It has a mild honey mustard flavor which I love. The eggplant is insane. It has an Asian flavor which is my favorite. Corn muffins are fire and the pickles are delicious and available to buy by the jar which I have multiple times. They have some daily specious too like the burger which is fire. The musabi is soooo good. I wish they had it everyday. The pastrami sandwich is so good too. Is thick cut like brisket and doesn't taste like regular pastrami but still so good. I love this place

I keep coming back, which says something in itself…read more Every Thursday they feature burgers, and they always have their signature Dandan: two 100% brisket patties quick-fried in tallow, topped with cheddar cheese and Dandan sauce on a butter-griddled brioche bun. This week they also offered two specials -- the Oklahoma (Dandan with grilled onions) and the Jalapeño Oklahoma (Dandan with grilled onions and jalapeños). The Dandan has been on my list for a while, so I finally pulled the trigger. I called around 11:30 a.m. and was promptly helped by a friendly employee. After a quick chat about which of the three was best, I went with the Jalapeño Oklahoma and a side of Brussels sprouts. I've had the sprouts before and really liked them -- they felt like a slightly healthier alternative to the usual fried sides. (Though when I arrived to pick up my order, it seemed like everyone else was happily devouring onion rings, which made me second-guess that choice.) As expected, there was a line stretching out the door. I quickly realized I was the only one actually waiting outside. Several people walked straight in, bypassed the line, and got helped right away. Turns out a group of 3-4 people had already ordered and were just hanging out inside in the AC while they waited. Lesson learned: if you've already placed your order, just walk in next time. While I waited, the staff brought out an ice-cold cup of their fresh cantaloupe juice. It's very sweet and genuinely delicious -- highly recommend. I took everything to go and ate at home, so I can't speak to temperature. The burger was big and loaded with meat and cheese -- you couldn't really see the jalapeños or onions at first, but they announced themselves with the first bite. The brisket patties cooked in tallow deliver a deep, rich beef flavor. They're a little firmer than a standard burger (as expected with brisket), so if you're someone who likes a lot of vegetables and toppings, this might not be your ideal burger. But if you're after a straight-up, beef-forward, no-frills experience, you won't be disappointed. The Brussels sprouts were excellent as always -- perfectly balanced with a sweet-tangy balsamic glaze. Let's be honest... I'll definitely be back. Next time I'm trying the classic Dandan -- and those onion rings.

We said no and she gave us the look like we should have had one and she didn't know if she would be able to seat us because she had no room...When in reality the place was empty.... Huge red flag. Food: We ordered two brisket burgers, sliced brisket and St Louis ribs. It took 30 minutes to get our food which seemed odd since the place was mostly empty like I said. We got our food and the brisket and ribs were lower end of mid level bbq but this isn't Texas and we expected that. The burgers were absolutely unacceptable! Dry with zero toppings and looked like they were stamped for shape then frozen. The burgers had a smell like the meat was rotten or had turned and then cooked anyway. At the end of our time we told our waitress we were ready for the check. She proceeds to gas light us into thinking they provide free refills to go. When in fact they offer them but, charge you for it without informing you. Only when you get the check for review do you realize what just happened. I don't recommend this place... save your money and go somewhere else in the arts district.... You will be glad you did.

This is a solid barbecue joint. Service was great. Atmosphere is awesome…read more I had a two meat platter with an additional sausage link. I had the fatty brisket in the pulled pork. The sausage was a jalapeño cheddar sausage. For my side, I had mac & cheese and coleslaw. To start off, this is a great place. If I could give it 4 1/2 stars I would but I like to round up. Brisket is really good but a little dry in the mouth. Great Smoky flavor. The mouth-feel was just a little off. It was a little dry, but not bad. The pulled pork was wonderful. Nice Smoky flavor. Nice and tender and juicy. Felt great to chew in my mouth and did not feel dry. A+ for the Pork. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was amazing. Really well done. Flavor was great texture was great. Just a little kick, which was great. I always wish there was more kick, but I understand you got a cater to your customers. One thing I was kind of concerned about was the temperature of the coleslaw. It should be really cold, but it was just kind of a little bit of above lukewarm, but not really cold. Coleslaw should be cold. The mac & cheese was pretty good. Needs a little bit more liquid in it but the flavor was awesome. And it looks like they prepackage the Mac 'n cheese in containers and then sprinkle some cheese on top. That's a nice touch, but it makes the whole container of mac & cheese dry out. They only have one barbecue sauce. It was pretty good. But to me the best way to judge barbecue is if it doesn't eat barbecue sauce. And this did not need barbecue sauce. It was just a nice addition. Great ambience. Great music playing. Very clean and well kept area. I would definitely come back when I'm on this side of town.

It reminded me of a real Texas barbecue with the big picnic tables and communal seating. Very friendly and helpful staff. I had the 3 meat (chicken, baby backs, and jalapeno hot links) and the wife had the 1 meat (brisket) We shared some sides Mac n cheese, green beans, and fries. The chicken was very juicy and perfectly cooked. We both agree that the baby backs were some of the best we've ever had. The jalapeno/cheese links were delicious. The brisket was good. Still moist and juicy. They ask you if you want a lean or fatty cut on the brisket. She chose lean (I would have chosen fatty ) Their regular barbecue sauce made everything better. The green beans were delicious and perfectly seasoned. The baked beans were a tiny bit sweet. The fries were perfect. The mac and cheese had good flavor but the pasta was overcooked. Oh, I decided to try the banana pudding. GET IT! It's f*cking delicious! We will definitely be back!
