Went here for a quick bite on a Thursday at around 2PM. Maybe like 3/4 other tables while I was there. We didn't get the AYCE but got seperate bulgogi and bibimbap plates and a side of steamed egg. All of it was reasonably priced and delicious. Along with that, the service was great and restaurant was clean, aesthetic and had character. Horrible experience. We arrived and the hostess acted like we were bothering her. She sat us but we didn't know to follow her bc she just walked away from us so she rolled her eyes. She told us someone would be there eventually. After a few minutes my daughter left to the restroom. She stopped to ask if they have a gluten free menu but came back and just said she was so abrupt she would wait for the waitress. Close to 20 minutes later no one ever came. I pressed the "call waitress" button several times. There was an old pot of water sitting on the table in case we want to serve ourselves. Someone finally showed and I asked about anything gluten free and she just said "nothing" and walked away. We literally had $150 worth of lunch food picked out and felt like we were shunned so we left. We were so excited to try this place but the way we were treated was awful. Very rude host, horrible service! I went in the restaurant around 2pm, and the restaurant was barely 1/3 full. I ordered a plate to go and was told 20 min wait, sounds reasonable. However, when I went back in 20 min, the host just said "wait" and totally ignored me. I kept waiting for another 20 min, and when I tried to ask her if my food is ready, she just turned away, pretending she didn't hear me at all! I complained to her that I have been waiting for so long, she replied, "every one waited 30 min long at least" with a cold voice. At last, my food finally came after 45 min wait in a not-so-busy afternoon. The food is okay, but feels not as hot as it should be. I doubted my food was sitting at the kitchen for 20 min all the time, and the host just didn't bother to check. A funny place. Menu is not big. Passing by tonight I wanted just a dessert. Not possible. I had to buy a meal to get a dessert. Asked for takeout so nobody would see the embarrassing sale. No way. I asked if they made so much money that could deny a sale of an overpriced portion of vanilla ice cream or if the manager was a comedian doing a trick. The owner was extremely overbearing & hovering and pushing the Ala carte menu even when we told him we were having ayce he kept insisting that it was much better to go ala carte (since it was extremely expensive but nothing special) when we finally told him adamantly no he finally buzzed off to harass another group. Kangs stop being so pushy & desperado and stop hovering. When we asked for more kalbi he seemed to be annoyed. My friend joined at the end of the meal only to order kimchi soup (tasted like barf) and this dude charged her for ayce even when she ate no meat. Meat was flavorful. I got seasoned galbi. For $50, I kinda expect them to come around & check on the customer at least once. They cook & cut the meat for you for you at the table. After that, they never came back. I wanted more japchae or rice. I was never able to flag anyone cause I never saw anybody. Oh, I literally was the only table during that time. So being busy can't be an excuse. A waitress finally ONLY came by to ask if she can give me the bill while I'm almost done eating. Fine, whatever. She gave me bill & she says it doesn't include tip. Kinda irritated me when there wasn't much service besides the cooking. I was more irritated cause I don't think servers should say that. Oh, they also originally didn't give me rice until I asked for it. All the sides, soup, meat, salad were brought out. No rice. It's not like the rice would be cold if they brought it out with everything else because it's covered. I wasn't sure if I was going to get rice. I don't think I should have to ask for rice. I'm guessing they forgot. I had to ask for it while waitress was grilling my meat. I thought it was gonna be an extra charge because it was missing. Luckily, I was able to use Caesars Reward credits but they charge it $2 for $1. I didn't know until I looked at my Caesars Reward Credit balance. I'd be pissed if I paid out of pocket for overpriced Korean restaurant. I rather go chinatown for cheaper Korean restaurants. Even AYCE places are cheaper. Facility is nice & clean.
