    Checkin on yelp!!!!
    Lexi S.

This is a cute little place located right on the street, you can find street parking. Inside there's a couple tables, so it's good for a date? Friends meet or a small group of 4. The workers were lovely over the phone when I called to place my order. I had the pad Thai (gluten free) with beef. I asked for chili sauce on the side to spice it up, and I checked in on help when I got there and received a "free soda or Thai tea voucher" I chose to use the Thai tea! This was soooo sweet and creamy, I ended up adding it to another glass over ice and watered it down. The noodles were a massive portion, it lasted me for another's days lunch! The fish was good, could have used a bit more sauce. I'll be back to try more dishes! They were super quiet when I got there so I hope they do a ton of to go orders. Worth a try fersure!

Had a great time with friends and great food! I ordered the lunch special beef panang curry

I've driven by this place so many times but I never stopped to eat inside because I thought parking was impossible. I'll usually get it to go but then one day the lady there told me that there's free parking in the back! You're in luck if your favorite Thai dish is chicken pad see ew. It's the best thing they make. The noodles are nicely separated and perfectly chewy. There's a good balance of flavor - not oily, too salty or even too sweet. The Hot Basil chicken aka the chicken kra pow (minced chicken with basil leaves) is my go to but here it's made with chicken breast so it's not as tasty as your traditional kra pow. Still good though especially with a double dose of fried eggs! Make sure you ask for fish sauce on the side with chopped chilies so you can spoon a little on your fried eggs. Super friendly staff. There are a few small tables inside the tiny place. When I had dinner there, no one else dined in. Everyone I saw walking in were picking up to go orders. Kaohorm is one of the better places for Thai along Ventura Blvd. Sit down or take out - either way it's going to be good. Don't forget to check in on Yelp for a complimentary soda or Thai iced tea!

    Beef Pad See Ew

Date: September 12, 2023 The little sister was coming over to visit and she wanted Thai food so decided to re-try this establishment. I've been here prior when it was called 'Kao Cafe' and although it wasn't bad, it wasn't good enough to come back again. Since they changed their name, we decided to give it another shot. Called over the phone to order and my sister went to pick it up. 1. Beef pad Thai- little bland but noodles weren't bad. Beef was little chewy. Plentiful amount though. wish they gave limes. 2. Beef pad see ew - this one was actually not bad. Beef was hard but the noodles were cooked nicely and sauced perfectly. Didn't like that there were only a handful of veggies and they were all the hard stem pieces but overall it was good. They have a yelp check in deal for a free soda or Thai tea, however when we asked the lady rudely said 'it's only for dine in' even tho it doesn't state that on the check in. Oh well. It's only a soda, didn't have to be so rude. Glad we got to try it out again. Wouldn't be back unless we had to get somewhere close by. I don't believe there's a parking lot but street parking isn't too bad.

Service was good. She was a bit slow to take our order once we sat down but other that that the experience was great. Payaya salad was good- a little kick but nothing crazy. Never heard of salmon curry so we decided to order and try it out. Was tasty! Sauce either the coconut shrimp was good as well.

The food is so good! Ask to add the silver noodles with the beef salad. It's a game changer

Great food. Great service. Very nice. But it's a little hot inside the dining. Only a fan was on while we dined.

I ordered $50 worth of food and they didn't put any napkins or utensils. I asked for spicy sauce and received nothing. Disappointed.

I love the crispy edges of kai jiew, really can't get enough of it. This place has two kinds though: thai omelette (which looks like a common omelette but with ground meat inside and a brown sauce), and scrambled eggs (which looks like the 'thai omelette' that i've known from other thai places). Kai jiew / kai jeaw / khai jiao / kai jiaw (scrambled eggs) -- if you like those fluffy, crispy fried eggs that are mostly called thai omelette at other places, this is the one you want. They're not as crispy, but still fluffy and full of flavor. They're a bit pricey though, which i find a little weird since this is normally one of the cheapest dishes at most thai places. Thai omelette -- this egg dish is one i've only seen at this place. It's more like egg foo young than the thai omelette that i know. Still flavorful though. Crab fried rice -- one of the best! It might not be as full of crab aroma, but this is the only place where i found a balance in fried rice as both an entree and a side dish. Usually fried rice is either flavorful enough to be an entree, or slightly bland and best as a side. But Khun Dang's is the perfect middle ground: flavorful enough as an entree, but not so strong that it overpowers your main dish if you decide to eat it as a side. Chicken fried wonton -- nicely crispy, such a joy to bite into! Thai ice tea -- not bad, pretty okay. Not too sweet, and not the "packaged mix" kind. Thai ice coffee -- strong, reminds me of vietnamese coffee (in all the good ways). Service was warm and friendly. Got my order in half an hour, which is pretty good considering they were packed for sunday lunch. The place is nice for hanging out and chatting when it's not packed, but even when it is, the tables aren't arranged too tightly. The price point is a bit on the pricey side, but the quality and portions reflect it.

He walked us through the menu, answered all of our questions, and made some excellent recommendations. The fried chicken is absolutely to die for--perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. We even drizzled a little of the kampachi crudo sauce over it... wow. Mouthwatering doesn't even begin to describe it! We also ordered the live Dungeness crab, which was incredibly fresh and delicious, along with the bay scallops with basil and chili jam. Every dish was beautifully prepared and full of bold, balanced flavors. The music created such a fun, laid-back vibe, making it the perfect spot for a date night. Parking was super convenient too--there's a lot right next door for just $10. From the food and service to the atmosphere, everything was on point. The Crispy Garden Rolls, one of two appetizers we started with, were perfectly fine, if pretty ordinary. The accompanying sauces helped fill in the gaps in flavor, and I'd say the sauces for the rolls saved the dish from merely a shrug. The Southern-Thai Fried Chicken, another starter, was the best thing we tried at Anajak Thai. Not greasy, super crunchy without any threat of teeth or throat complaint. Great to share, with two sauces to enhance your experience. The meat was moist and the dollop of rice was a nice anchor to this appetizer. I'd definitely recommend this dish. We also split an entree, panang curry. The flavors were good, the dish is presently nicely in a larger bowl. A stew of sorts, with lots of classic flavors. I did like it and would probably try it again. Still, it belongs in a 'Hey that's good' category rather than 'Whoa - 'I have to eat this again tomorrow night!'. As it got busier, service began to diminish a bit. I thought the staff was very nice, and was pretty available even as the restaurant was filling up. Check the street for parking.
