This place is great- particularly for families. For pickier eaters, there is pizza which is great by the way. The hot subs and pasta are also awesome. The more adventurous can eat off the Uzbek menu which is so much fun and novel. (At least to me and I'm guessing you as well - how many Uzbek restaurants have you experienced? Probably not too many, maybe none?) But really you don't have to be too adventurous to eat off the Uzbek menu since the food is so good and satisfying. What. The. Heck. I am surprised. Pleasantly surprised. This is a hidden gem in a strip mall. Truly. On the front, this is just another American Italians place, where you get your chicken parm for about 10 bucks. Until you actually go in The. Best. Uzbek. Food in town. I mean seriously, is there another Uzbek food? Great borscht. Great lagman. And definitely go for the manti. All of the food we got tasted amazingly. Went online - saw they had delivery - I'm 4 miles from the restaurant. I ordered a medium pizza and chicken wings - with all the extra fees - total cost for delivery and food was $46 - pretty high but decided to try it anyway. After the order was placed it was confirmed. About 15 minutes later they sent me an email canceling my order. The sated reason - they didn't have an item I ordered! Disappointed they couldn't deliver on basic items and then they canceled the whole order. Chicken tenders it was - from my freezer. Thanks Tyson! read more

I have no idea what happened to this place. You may have seen that I left a raving 5-star two years ago. Since then it seems they have gone utterly downhill. From the moment we walked in the waiter was rude, dismissive and showed a a severe lack of knowledge. Seems like there's been a change of ownership as so much has changed since my last visit, from the menus to the fact that they served us bottled instead or regular fountain drinks. Fortunately the only redeeming quality was that the food was bearable. Not nearly as good as our last visit. read more

We just hope you will keep up with great quality and variety. Service was not great but I cannot lower the stars simply cause I know you will fix it. We came here with a party of 12. The place is spacious, service is great and food is wow. I'm so happy an uzbek/Russian place opened in raleigh. We got pizza, manto or manti (ground beef stuffed dough), meat pies in flaky dough, lasagna, green salad, cheese pie, dumpling soup. I honestly liked everything. Everything was fresh and authentic. The portions are huge so it's great for sharing. This place is perfect for large parties or ordering for take out, especially if you want to eat homemade food. A random place in a strip mall that has great food. For appetizers we go the Manti, dumplings with steak and onion and Somsa, which are baked pastries with minced beef. The manti was good but I loved the how fresh the samsa tasted. For entrees we got the lamb chops with mashed potatoes and the ground beef kabob with rice. Both of the kabobs were great, perfectly cooked and seasoned, probably one of the best kabobs I've had in the area. The rice was a little hard for my taste, so I'm glad I got the mashed potatoes. Less than 1/2 mile from Brice's Brewery! My husband and I split the Manti - Uzbek dumplings with beef and onions with a sour cream sauce. Reminded me of a really good beef stroganoff. We also had the chicken kabob with grilled veggies and rice. Chicken was moist and well paired with the sides. Loved the grilled veggies and the rest veg was similar to fried rice but not at all greasy. Will definitely make this our Brice's Brewery dinner stop though they do have a fully stocked bar here too! read more

This is our go to sit down restaurant in Garner. We've tried every item on the menu and can't complain about anything. Not many vegetarian options, but the grilled veggies, rice, fried eggplant, and lentil soup are enough. The meat quality is superb which you can taste through the perfect level of seasoning. Visited Karavan yesterday for a late lunch / early dinner ~ 15:00. Karavan is located in the same location as "3 Olives Pizza and Deli" by just flipping the menu. Karavan in one of Garner's older shopping centers which was formerly occupied by Walmart until they moved a mile or so further down US 70. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our waitress offered beverages and as always we opted for water. I noticed a rather well stocked bar at the back but decided to save sampling mixed drinks for a later visit! We ordered Manti (steamed), Samsa, Bamaza Eggplant and Potatoes do Domashni. We knew we'd be taking food home but wanted to sample the menu. We save their famous Kebabs for next visit though my son has raved about them numerous times. The Salmon kebabs will be my choice next time. Our order was delivered quickly - just a few minutes. There was one other family present during this time so I cannot speak for peaks. The Bamaza Eggplant was unlike any eggplant I've _ever_ encountered and I am an "eggplant fan!" This eggplant literally "melts in your mouth" and the balsamic honey glaze provides a tart/sweet background to make that an thoroughly interesting dish! If you are an eggplant fan, I strongly encourage you to try this one! The Manti were steamed perfectly and just wonderful. Filled with beef and onions, one could make a full meal from this dish alone! They were served with a side of sour cream which imparted just the right tartness. Bravo! The Samsa reminded me very much of the Manti only delivered in crisp flakey pastry. The Samsa were crunchy and eat bite exposed many layers of delicate flakiness. The tomato based side / dip accentuated the meat/onion flavors well. The Potatoes do Domashni were very good. This disk reminded me of a style of potatoes my mother fancied and prepared for us growing up. Only mom never liked mushrooms - yum, yum! Very well executed! We ended up taking most of our potatoes home along with a couple of the Manti. Of course, we ordered piece of the Medovik (Russian Honey Cake) to go. It has been described as very similar to Tiramisu. I can confirm that only without the coffee flavors! Overall, we were very pleased with the food, the service and the price which panned out to be quite affordable and reasonable! We plan to return to sample some of the kebabs next visit. Stay safe! It was our first time trying Uzbek food and it was amazing. We ordered Plov (popular Uzbek dish with pieces of meat, grated carrot & raisin) and fried Manti (dumplings with beef filling and side sauce - you can order them either fried or steamed). Both were very delicious and flavorful. The Plov reminded me of a similar Persian dish and could tell it was made with love tasting like a home-cooked meal. The only place in Raleigh for Uzbek food. I had the laghman and plov. Both the items were really good. The laghman was homemade noodles with chunks of beef and veggies with a slight broth. The plov was aromatic rice with carrots and beef. It was cooked with ghee or butter which made it even more decadent. I stopped in on a Friday afternoon because I read the reviews eww and I was curious to see how the food was. First the atmosphere, quite,clean, unique design inside. Service was awesome. I was welcomed and seated immediately. The young girl was I think Russian with an accent. She was very friendly and super helpful. I asked her about the menu and she made several suggestions. I had the Borsch soup and the lasagna. First off the soup. It was red and served with sour cream in the side. It was good. A little unusual but I liked it. I've never had it before so I can't compare it to other soups. The lasagna was awesome. I'm Italian so I'm picky about my Italian food. The pics of the lasagna looks soo appetizing I ordered it. Wow! I received a very generous portioN. It was served hot with piles of meat & cheese. They did not skimpy on serving up this perfect yummy lasagna. I aren't myself, no rush, relaxed had a beer. The waitress wrapped the other half of my lasagna & served the check promptly. I will definitely come back with my husband! read more
