Stopped here for lunch. Food and service was excellent. No bumbling and stumbling by staff. We were greeted and seated immediately, with our drink orders taken at the same time and brought right over. Our food orders took barely 10 minutes and arrived piping hot for real. Actually hot food that you had to wait a couple of minutes before you can eat it. So rare nowadays, where food typically arrives luke warm after waiting 30-40 minutes. Restaurant itself was clean, nice atmosphere, music at an appropriate volume. Not loud and pounding, just background music that allows everyone to still talk and not have to yell. Just a wild hunch that this is an NC State themed restaurant! I came in on a Wednesday night while my car was being serviced down the street. I found my way to the bar, though it was a bit of a maze to get back there, and took a seat. There were a few people sitting at bar tables, but I was the only who took an actual bar seat. I ordered the cheesy meatballs appetizer for $15. It came with four golf ball sized meatballs with marinara and covered by some decently melted mozzarella cheese on top. The meatballs themselves tasted fine. The sauce was not all that great, it tasted like straight tomato, I tasted so little seasoning. The staff also gave me two pieces of pillowy soft Italian bread for dipping. Decent bread, but nothing overly special. The bartenders were attentive, they did a good job keeping my beverage glasses refilled. Amedeo's is step back in time with the dark decor and the old NC State memorabilia. If you're just looking for a fun place to hang out, it's a good choice. If you're looking for top of the line Italian food, this isn't your place. read more

I love everything about this place. My wife and I have been going here since we were students in the 90s. We haven't lived in Raleigh in several years, but make a point of stopping by every time we're in town. The staff is always welcoming and attentive. We've never had food we didn't enjoy. We were fortunate our wait wasnt long. There are two dining areas, the original on the left and the newer dining area to the right. We sat the right. I stopped in for a quick lunch while in town. Amedeo's did not disappoint. I decided to try the lunch special, which came with an 8 inch personal pizza, Caesar salad, and a drink for $13. Talk about value! We were also served fresh bread at the table. My favorite part of this meal was the salad. It was covered in sauce, and had plenty of croutons and cheese. The pizza was decent, but not anything standout. The fresh bread was delicious! The atmosphere is more intimate than I was expecting but for a small mid-conference lunch this was perfect. I sometimes come here for lunch. Love this place. Authentic Italian American food near North Carolinia State University. Many of the staff have worked there for a long time. Service is always good--food exceptional. I love there Spinach Lasagna and Spaghetti with meat sauce. They serve a very good Italian Vinnegret on their house salad. I've visited Amedeo's Italian Restaurant multiple times in the past and never had an issue, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I ordered through DoorDash and the food I received was bland and watery--completely below the quality I've come to expect. When I called the restaurant, I was told to go through DoorDash. DoorDash then told me they couldn't provide a refund. What's most frustrating is the lack of accountability--no effort from the restaurant to make it right, even with a replacement offer. Unfortunately, this experience has changed my perception, and I hope they improve both their food quality and customer service. read more

This is a NC State hangout. Very cool old pizza joint kinda vibe. I was there for a work luncheon and had the baked manicotti, it was ok. The service was great, considering we had a large group our server was on top of everything and we had no complaints. I can see how this would be a cool place for college students to hang out. Amadeo, I went there expecting great things. It was hyped up all through the campus talk when I worked there, and I sat down and ordered the lasagna which was not a lasagna by any stretch of the means and it was served lukewarm. I couldn't believe it I told him to keep it and Just clear my tab and I would go somewhere else and eat. This is the farthest thing from an Italian restaurant. This is just a sports bar. This place is a very cute restaurant off Western Boulevard. It is dimly lit and has a sports bar vibe. The staff is very friendly and they seem to always have a good amount of people in it. They have a nice big menu of various pastas, pizzas, and subs and have big portions with decent prices! I had their famous lasagna and oreo cheesecake which were both delicious, but the one dish here that blew my mind was the lobster ravioli. After I tried it once, I never tried anything else again. I come to Amedeo's strictly for this now, EVERYONE should try this!!!!! The pastas here are so flavorful and taste very homemade. A friend was in town visiting with her daughter who was at camp at NC State so I knew she would enjoy lunch at the iconic Amedeo's. It didn't disappoint. I was late due to traffic but they greeted my friend and had her seated upon my arrival to join her. I love Amedeo's lasagna so my friend ordered it too. It was so delicious moist and flavorful. Also the bread was soft and warm to accompany that lasagna. Our Mamas would be proud as we both cleaned our plates. Very friendly and professional service. Stopped in for lunch and I'm glad I did. My boyfriend and I were quickly seated when we walked in. The restaurant has a cozy feeling with different themed booths. We started with some fried ravioli. The ricotta filling was absolutely delicious. They ricotta was seasoned beautifully. I opted for ranch instead of marinara to dip the ravioli in because I'm addicted to ranch, but the marinara was great too! Then we both ordered the hot Italian club. Look y'all, I don't know what sauces they used on that sandwich but it was delicious. I usually would remove onions, mustard, etc because I'm not a fan but I just ordered the sandwich as is. Everything melded together so beautifully. The service when ordering food was pretty slow. We ordered an appetizer and our server didn't return to take our main order until the appetizer came out. Went to dinner before The Play4Kay basketball game. Not crowded when we arrived at 4:30. At 5:45 we walked out and never received our entrees. Another couple that sat down when we did ordered the same entrees and they were finished eating in less than an hour. All we received was our salad, bread and excuses or lies. "Your food is coming out right now" 15 mins later"they messed up the lasagna and having to remake it" 10 mins later "it should be out soon, I'll send my manager over" manager was told and never bothered to come to our table. We were feeling nostalgic about our alma mater after NCSU's NCAA win over Oakland, so we went to Amedeo's for Sunday lunch. The restaurant has been around longer than I've been alive and the walls are covered with NCSU sports memorabilia. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience didn't measure up to the WolfPack ambiance. My $15 spaghetti with meat sauce was largely tasteless; the sauce was watery and had a tiny amount of finely ground meat. The spaghetti was served a bit too al dente for my taste as well. Surprisingly, our meals were served just warm instead of hot since I thought the pasta would have been cooked to order. The accompanying bread was very good and had obviously been freshly baked. Service was fine, but could not make up for the kitchen's poor performance. Pro tip: Amedeo's website features a lunch menu but fails to mention that the specials are only available Monday through Friday. Amedeos's is worth a visit if you're a die hard NCSU sports fan. Don't go for the food, as you'll likely be disappointed. All in all, Amedeo's is a poor value if you're looking for anything other than WolfPack nostalgia. read more

We stopped by before the NC State basketball game and had dinner. It took a little while to get seated but it was well worth the wait. We got the garlic bread to go with our meals and it literally melted in our mouths. My son had a kids pizza, my wife had the pasta carbonara and I had the lasagna. Everything was great, the portion sizes were just right. We got a salad as well but I forgot to take pics of them. They were great too. We will definitely go back when we are in Raleigh! read more

I reserved for a large party of 17 on a Friday afternoon. They were very accommodating and responsive. Everything was great, we ordered drinks, apps and food. The food came out in a timely manner especially due to us being such a large group. Everything was delicious! The kids all loved the spaghetti with tomato sauce, the pizza was yummy (the crust was very good). We ended up missing one of the kid's pepperoni pizza. After 15 minutes of waiting for our waitress (we were sitting in a separate room), we went to inquire about the missing kid's pizza. Our waitress was talking at the bar. She responded that she would check on it- 20 more minutes go by and still no kid's pizza. At this point, 16 people were halfway done eating or basically finished. We go back to the bar to ask our waitress about missing kid's pizza. Within minutes our waitress comes to our group to let us know the pizza was on the original check and brought out to us but didn't make it to the child who ordered it. To wrap this up the waitress put the pizza in again to be made and 20 minutes later the child gets to eat. The waitress said the manager would bring us our checks and speak to us... The manager came in with checks and then ran out of the room as fast as she could. The lack of willingness to accept that a mistake had been made (and insinuating that we ate the pizza that should have gone to the hungry child) and a decent response to the whole situation made this dinner one that we would like to forget! The manager ended up taking $5 off the check (50% of the kid's pizza)... Thanks, I guess? Usually, we love Amedeo's but it will take us a few years to forget this and find our way back. So this was our second visit to Amedeo's and it was a holiday weekend. We came in as a party of four. It took a minute to get a table. It appears as though there is limited wait staff as there is a sign that says they are looking for help. We were seated after about 5 minutes or so. Then it took quite a while to get our order placed because the waitress seemed to be waiting on a lot of tables. But, once we for our food it was good. No pictures of our appetizers because we were so hungry but it was the first time I ordered the meatballs with cheese. Group dinner and we had the back room. Party of 15 so lots of variety on the food chosen. I heard no food complaints at all. We tried most of the different appetizers and they were excellent. I had the seafood Alfredo and chose to have it over Angel Hair pasta and it was delicious. Only issue is the beer list is not correct as the Stout on the menu was out and had been for some time. They also ran out of several beers while the group was there. Since we had a reservation and this was the second year in a row we had done this I deducted a star. We got there and parked (free, which you rarely find where we live), and we're immediately greeted and seated by friendly staff. Most of the food was fantastic. Sometimes, criticism is hard to take....and I won't candy coat this review. This place was great- once - a long time ago. The lasagna was amazing a long time ago....now, there isn't any seasoning, there's literally no meat in the sauce. The eggplant parm came out looking and tasting overcooked. And don't get me started on the calzone. This thing is huge...football sized, as the say.....but over HALF was just dough....very little to no ricotta, I added meatballs and there was very little of it and the dough was not well cooked. I've had other issues over past 2 visits including very slow service. When people sat after me getvtheir ENTIRE APP AND MEAL at the same time...BEFORE I even get my app that I ordered before they sat down....well that's an issue.....and the worst part....the waiter didn't seem to care as my app took another 10 minutes to get. We went here on Labor Day for lunch because we always wanted to try it. They were short staffed. But, really, really nice. We understood and didn't let the wait bother us. I ordered chicken wings with buffalo sauce and French fries. The wings were really good and the French fries were very tasty. My partner ordered the eggplant parmigiana. Sadly, it was horrible The sauce was terrible, the pasta pre made. The eggplant was by far the worst I've ever eaten Two Sloppy, soggy pieces of small eggplant prepared in the worst coating. Ii seriously looked like mush. We were surprised by this because most of the reviews are decent. Except a few that said exactly what I'm saying about this dish. We usually give place so a second chance But, fortunately I can get wings anywhere.
