I just bought a 2011 V6 Honda Accord from Muller Honda on 01/31/19. All things went great during the sale process and subsequent closing process of making the sale. Things have not gone so smooth since. I have had issues w/one of the key fobs from day 1 not working. This is further compounded by the key cylinder on the door not working properly necessitating the need to have a working key fob. I took the car back to Muller a couple of weeks ago and they seemed to get the key fob to work (temporary). They supposedly lubricated the lock cylinder so the door could be opened manually if necessary. (What a joke NOT). The malfunctioning key fob is still not functioning leaving me w/only one key fob. If this stops working I'm screwed as the lock cylinder doesn't work properly. When I put the key in to try and open the door manually the key is twisting to a point where the key will snap off the key in the lock if I continue to turn it. Today is 03/07/19. I received a notice in the mail from Honda about a recall on a defected airbag so I took my car into Castle Honda to get this issue resolved. Why Castle and not Muller for the simple reason Castle is across the street from my gym On Dempster. The airbag issue was taken care of, but they noticed there was oil seeping out of the spool valve. Thank God I bought an extended warranty for this car. I called up Muller Honda's service department since this is where I bought the car. They told me they wouldn't be able to get this into the shop today, but I could leave the car and they may or may not be able to get to the car on Friday. Well guess what Sherlock I'm not leaving my car on a Maybe when I need this car for my job. The service guy said he could get me in on the 22nd? I'm like WTF if this spool valve opens and leaks on my alternator my car is dead in the water stranded. Really the 22nd are you Effin kidding me? I'm certainly glad I bought that extended warranty. You would think that they might be willing to work with the customer on repairing the car. Right now I am so pissed off at Muller I will never go back there again. What started as a great relationship has turned sour very quickly with their unwillingness to stand behind their vehicle. Just purchased a CPO 2021 Pilot from Muller Honda Certified and worked on site with Jim C. and through email with both Jim and Jon B. Both were great to work with. They were responsive since it was time sensitive with me being an out of state buyer and Jim went above and beyond going over everything and going the extra mile prepping the car. No pushy uncomfortable sales, honest and didn't try to add anything I didn't want, but offered and was gracious if I declined. Had such a great experience, totally trusted his straight dealing & advice that I even recommended a co-worker to go to Muller & trade her car in for a Pilot (which she did). I didn't feel like because I was a woman that I was oversold or redirected into something more expensive. Love my car & planned on keeping it forever but I'm moving to Boston; I was thinking about trading my car in for another CRV before I head out - since on my car loan I owe slightly less than the car is worth I thought this would be the best time to trade for another CRV, whether new or used, with less than my 90K mileage even though I also know that these cars last 200K miles if not more. I called Doug & asked him what he thought about my plan. He told me absolutely not. The car's still great, right? It's not giving you any problems, right? You're only at 90K miles so you can go at least another 120K... & if you're moving do you really want to think about getting new (& have a higher note) or trade used when you already have a great, reliable car? I LOVE DOUG for talking sense to me. That's why I'm taking to Yelp. I could've written this review back in 2015 but time flies, etc. But I take the time to submit this highly positive review, 5-star, two-thumbs-up review because it's hard to find anyone in the car-selling business you can trust not to up-sell you & to appreciate where you are in life & advise accordingly. Bought a used car from them in 2018, and within 3 months found out how much damage they had hidden. Back window latch exploded less than 30 days after buying it, only to expose that someone had tried to glue the window latch back on on both sides. Transmission was also cracked, but taped over with flex tape(I got an earful from a mechanic until I told him where I bought it and he didn't seem surprised). 0 star experience if I could give it that. Found a car we wanted and began negotiations, met with a ton of resistance on price, told that due to hurricane damage in Texas demand is going to be high and people are paying $3000 over retail to get their hands on cars to restart the dealers in Texas (Texas is a Toyota, GM, Ford state) Found the same vehicle with mileage within 3000k miles of our vehicle at neighboring dealers for the price we were negotiating on, but over $300 they wouldn't budge. We ended up leaving only to receive a call when we got home to the city offering another $100 (still 200 short) of the price we offered asking for a credit card to hold the car. Told them no, will look at other dealers tomorrow, if demand was so high they wouldn't have a lot filled with the same year and model, typical sales tactics you expect from a car dealer, don't waste your time read more

Now I know what it feels like to be a second class citizen, seriously. You go to Muller Honda to buy a NEW car you get treated a completely different way than you do if you go to Muller Honda Certified to buy a used car. My sales guy Howard was great, he was the silver lining on top of all of this. I have to admit I did walk onto the lot knowing what I wanted, but Howard was great in helping me get there. But...that being said there were several negatives: 1. Missing keys. At first Howard had a hard time finding the keys to the car I wanted to test drive, then when I did purchase the car, he had a hard time finding the spare keys I was owed. I can't really blame Howard, only say that the company needs to find a better way to keep track of keys. Customers don't want to wait. 2. Finance office. When the deal had been made I waited 30 minutes in the dealership to be told that the financing office was closing. FYI the finance office at this location closes at 4:30, so AVOID purchasing a car anytime between 3 and 4:15 otherwise you will have to wait forever and then be told that you have to go to the other Muller Honda location to finish up all the paperwork. Awful! I love my car and overall am satisfied with my experience, but I'm not sure if I would go back. read more

However, they also had a car that we wanted and were having trouble finding someplace else so after a bit of a Mexican Stand-off we ended up heading up north and buy from Howard. My husband and I visited this dealership on 9/12/20. The reason for our visit to look at cars with our son. This is our son very first buying experience. We went in and was never greeted ... we stood around for a minute and had to ask someone for help. That was our first impression. After asked for help the General Manager asked a salesmen to help us... the guy at first was pleasant and seemed to be very helpful .. our son test drove a couple of cars and was made up his mind on what model he liked more.. after test driving them we go in to talk numbers.. as we all know everyone's favorite part.. my son had his own finance and had a number set in his mind to spend... the salesmen response was ... "you are looking at the wrong car if that is what you are wanting to spend"... now keep in mind we had done weeks of research and price comparison.. we were looking at the right vehicle... after going back to speak with the General Manager he says he can not meet our figure.. then speaks with the General Manager comes back again and try to come down in the price. Our son not agreeing with the number.. the salesman "Jim"response was I don't want to be confrontational... I look at my husband and son like who is being confrontational? I am thinking To sale vehicles the figures either work or they don't. End of story.. this salesmen " Jim" shown that he was uncomfortable speaking calmly to black people because his first response was as if we were shouting and yelling at him... I completely was done at that point. He gave me over the weekend to decide on the color as he was not willing to seek out the color I had requested. I called him first thing on Monday to tell him my color choice. I gave him a credit card number to hold the car and arranged to pick it up on Wednesday. After giving him the credit card number I once again confirmed the amount I would be writing the check for to cover the remainder of the cost. Not twenty minutes later he called back to tell me that he had miscalculated and that they needed $1,100.00 more for the car. What a scam!! My husband and I went to Muller Honda dealer two days ago to purchase a vehicle. We were working with Mike Katz (Our sales agent) which was very nice, helpful and very professional. During the sales process and while negotiating on the price, Mike went to ask the manager Luigi Aliperta about our offer and the manager Luigi was super rude and started yelling from distance away saying that he wont even reduce the price of the vehicle by $50 and if we are not happy the price, we can leave. The problem at that point was not with the offer but with his unprofessional attitude. First of all, he works at a dealership and professionalism and good customer service should be the number one requirement from all of their staff and second of all, he is the manager which means with his position, he should be the good example for the employees there as well as the customers. My husband was very upset with Luigi's attitude and decided to cancel the sale but because of how professional, nice and helpful Mike was, I asked my husband to complete the sale just because of mike. Other than that and if you ever go there, try to avoid dealing with Luigi. He is the worst person with such a horrible attitude. read more

This review is only for the service department - I can't speak to the sales group. My mother and I have been having our cars serviced here for years, and had previously been pleased with both the work and the staff. However, our last several experiences have been so sub-par that we'll be looking for someone else to service our cars. Strike one: my mother took her car in because she broke the glass on one of her sideview mirrors. They said they couldn't just replace the glass, they have to replace the whole mirror. Seems weird, but whatever. So she takes the car in, leaves it, blah blah. Gets a call from them - they ordered the wrong mirror, so it's going to be a few more days. Annoying, but it happens. Strike two: I take my car in to have a headlamp changed and also to have a sideview mirror fixed (I promise, we are not driving in to things - she dinged hers on a garage door and mine was vandalism - you don't need to be afraid that we're on the streets). So, they tell me my car is going to be ready "Friday, Saturday at the latest." Well, Friday rolls around, no call. So I call them. "There was a problem with the mirror, but we figured it out. It'll be done Monday." So Monday rolls around, then Tuesday, no call. Again, I call them. I don't want to drive up to Highland freaking Park to find out my car's not fixed. So it's a good thing I called - it's still not done. Interestingly, the person I talk to this time tells me that they ordered the wrong mirror. Really? Is it that hard to order a mirror? So now it should be done Thursday... STILL NO CALL. Once again, I call them, and third time is apparently the charm, cause it's finally fixed. Strike three: When I picked up my car, I dropped off my mom's truck - her rear windshield wiper was coming off, and it needed to either be fixed or replaced. So we just went to pick it up and guess what's not fixed? They did the 15K mile checkup, and an oil change that we didn't ask for - but why make the repair that we specifically made the appointment for? ARGH. Apparently, Muller is no longer actually associated with GM - and the service has really taken a nose dive. All I can say is, if you take your car here, go over what is supposed to be done twice, and don't trust that things are going to be ready when they say they will. read more

I have had oil changes/inspections, used the body shop when I got into an accident, and bought a used car from Muller Honda Certified after the accident. I've driven it for a few weeks and love it. Doug was great throughout the process. I chose Muller Honda very intentionally because I wanted a dealership that I knew wasn't sketchy and wouldn't sell me anything faulty. Of the three cars I've ever purchased in my life, two of them were of the 'beater' variety. The kind you might find in the Reader classifieds. But when you become a responsible adult with a decent job and an insurance agent who calls you by your first name, you start to get nicer cars (the kind of cars that require financing). I'll say it right now - I find car buying so aggravating - in your head you've got a mental picture of a payment you think you can afford and a mental picture of the kind of car you want. You want those two visions to meet at the lower end of the payment spectrum. The car you want is out there, but where?! We've been discussing a minivan since New Years. I know there's lots of good manufacturers out there - we've driven and known people who owned Pontiacs, Toyotas, Dodges, Chevys... they all make a good product, but our research pointed us to a used Honda Odyssey - it had the features we wanted but unfortunately they were painfully high on the payment spectrum I mentioned earlier. Those things reeeeeally hold their value. If you haven't purchased a car in the last decade, you might be surprised to find that you don't have to drive to a dozen dealers looking for the car you want. Just point the web browser at any number of used car-shopping sites and start searching. You'll narrow your search to a few dealers within any distance from your home. Oh, you'll end up taking the obligatory trip to CarMax where they certainly have friendly salespeople and a nice lot full of gently used vehicles - CarMax's one sticking point (with me) is the no-haggle pricing though. They emphasize this in their commercials, but how is it a good thing? They say everything is negotiable - not at CarMax. Then we drove to Schaumburg Honda where I bought my Honda Element six years ago and they had some nice vans but we just never made a deal. No complaints with Schaumburg Honda - they are good guys but like the godfather says "it's nothing personal, just business". Then we drove into Muller's lot to sit in their cars. Their lot was packed with Odysseys and the salesman who greeted us, Jeff Ferguson, seemed eager to make a deal. He was patient with us and took us into their cheapie models and their deluxe models and then we settled on something nicer than cheap but not so far from deluxe. That mental picture of the van we wanted was starting to develop nicely. When it came time to talk $, Jeff did that thing where he says "That's too low! I can't do it! My manager is going to kill me!" but after some back and forth, we landed somewhere in the middle. Then they do the thing where they run your credit - we have good credit (thank God!) but it's still unpleasant to go through that isn't it? The rate was fine - I would've liked better, but at the end of the day, we were still below budget. Jeff and the finance guy (who's name escapes me) really came through for us. We got that car we wanted and we paid a fair price. So there you go... shop around, go to Muller Honda, ask for Jeff Ferguson; nice cars at a fair price. Oh - one last thing. To my fellow Cook County people - you'll still need to pay some Cook County tax. I was a little disappointed with that - but that's not Muller's fault. read more

He was great, my experience was great, the rate on the loan was competitive, the tradein was the highest price of any other dealership I went to, and most important was that the car I bought was a great price and is perfect. It is a certified Honda dealership now. The service department is Awful. takes weeks to get an appointment! An oil change with an apt takes over an hour. I asked them to change my windshield wipers but they forgot. I have a problem with my Bluetooth, waited for 2 weeks for an appt. had to get a ride to leave my car there for the next day. all they did was give me a number for hands free support. they told me to delete my phone which I had already done. now I have to make ANOTHER apt so they can do what I asked them to do in the first place. diagnostics!!!! the hours are terrible for working people and people who don't have other cars. read more
