I remember it being a type of bread and red sauce We had lamb as our main dish with other sides which was amazing! The food was so tender and rich in flavor I was shocked by it At the end the owner gave us some Russian chocolate and talked about his business with us. It was a lovely conversation and the chocolates were some of the best chocolate I've ever had I was so shocked to see why the place was so empty, it was clean, well kept, beautiful decorations, and a warm vibe! (Then again it was during Covid times) The outside of the restaurant isn't the best but what can you expect from LA? Russians usually order the banquet-style fixed price dinner (cold appetizers, hot appetizers, main course & tea) then lounge around for 2-3 hours consuming the food intermittently with drinking, jiving to the live music & going outside in packs for a smoke. This restaurant has been around for a while under different owners. The inside is kitschy but in a fun way (full-wall Russian mural!), the food is pretty good, but what I really dig is the entertainment. Very 80s-90s Russian disco. I had a B-day party for my Russian family peeps here recently and they played a jam version of Happy B-day followed by "The Wall." How cool is that?!?!

It's 3 cabbage rolls filled with beef and rice on top of a tomato sauce served with a side of toasted bread. So delicious and reminded me of grape leaves but with cabbage instead highly recommend MYLNTSI (crepes) $19 I for the one with chicken and mushrooms sauce and it was pretty tasty. The crepe is filled with ground chicken I think with a creamy mushroom sauce on the outside. I liked this but felt the dish needed more of the sauce since most of the flavor came from the sauce They also have cherry filled dumplings that I really wanted to try but they ran out so I'll be back for them next time!

Cheese platter, salmon carpaccio, vinaigrette salad, wague beef, & bronzino. A manager or the owner came to our table with a plate of lamb chops, as a token of appreciation, that was very sweet-thank you! Everything was delicious, however, if you really hungry the portions are small, it won't satisfy you. We had a big lunch earlier, so we felt great with it. Another great touch was, they have a photographer that goes around the whole evening, and takes pictures of the guests. Within few minutes you get an offer of purchasing your pic in a nice frame for $20 (a fare price in my opinion). Even though we didn't need all 3 pics of us, we still purchased them all in support of the photographer's business. In all, yes it's pricey, and adds up quickly, but absolutely worth it! We will be back. I highly recommend this restaurant for a birthday celebration, or even if you just want a special evening with your significant one.

Last night, my friend and I visited this restaurant. We were told there was a $50 cover charge, and if we wanted a table, we had to spend $150-$200 per person. We decided to sit at the bar instead and ordered food and drinks. The bar service was fine, and the show itself was good. However, before we entered, security told us that once the show started, we would not be allowed to use the restroom for 30 minutes. We accepted that, but when the show began, several employees and a security guard stood directly in front of us and completely blocked our view. I politely asked a few times if they could move because we were there to watch the show, but they didn't seem to care. The security guard remained directly in front of me, making it impossible to see. Eventually, I had to move to an empty table by myself just to watch part of the performance, while my friend stayed at the bar. There were plenty of empty tables available, which made the situation even more frustrating. What made this even more disappointing was that by the end of the evening, the two of us had spent about $450 on food and drinks--more than enough to meet the table minimum they originally mentioned. Despite that, we were never offered a table and remained at the bar. Unfortunately, after paying the cover charge and spending that much money, not being able to properly watch the show was very disappointing. Because of this experience, I don't think I'll be returning.

The discounts can be incredible and I appreciate sale-priced groceries in today's economy as well as the opportunity to support local and international farms. Sunflower seeds, sunflower oil, low sugar and no sugar added cookies, pastries and cakes, caviar, dried fish, pickled Herring, perfectly ripe berries, smoked fish, halva, cheese spread, jams, and artisan teas, all five stars. But wait. Is it a Russian-American market where I find the most Ukrainian imported groceries and ways to support Ukrainian farming?! Try a bite of fresh cream cheese cake with berries. Ask for advice! Go for the Beef Plav which is an employee favorite. The Beef Plav here contains a generous amount of tender, lean beef with carrots, savory buttery rice and whole softly roasted garlic cloves. Yum! (Five stars!) I've found some especially healthy and nutritious food here for my health recovery goals recently. About six years ago, I had been exposed to high levels of radiation according to a good old fashioned Geiger counter. My health began to drastically decline and I became very weak. I could barely stand and I barely survived. I knew about a famous brave Ukrainian woman who had survived radiation exposure thanks to her unborn child. Her survival story led to me requesting female cancer screenings which led to the surgeries that saved my life. (**Confetti flying **) There's a very long list of doctors and people who have helped me survive and recover to whom I live for in gratitude. Our commitment to the people and values which help us survive the impossible compels us to rise to the occasion of coming back stronger and better than we ever could have accomplished before or alone. So I'm drinking bone broth, eating extra protein, taking vitamins. And lifting weights with steadfast determination to recover my strength and then some. (Go Navy!) Their vast variety of dishes from hot cases to cold cases to deli, dessert, bread, beverages is just impeccable. Food is SO delicious that you can't get enough. I bought cabbage rolls, dolma, beet salad from their cold cases, and from their hot cases, got soup-chicken meatball, mushroom, and spicy beef rice. It could have been good to feed an army. Received a very nice welcome from their employees and everyone wanted to help me at the same time. They also have fresh coffee, tea, can food, and so many other variety of authentic food. Prices vary. Depending on what you get. Pretty affordable. Place is very clean, chill, friendly ambiance and all I can say is that this Russian, Ukranian store can offer a lot more than probably our local supermarkets can! Had the Mom Please Breakfast, Syrnyky with Berry Sauce, and Napoleon Cake. Absolutely outstanding and would easily recommend all three. The portions are fine, not American super obesity sized, more like normal human sized. The atmosphere is awesome. The restaurant is clean. The bathroom is clean. The dessert case is beautiful. The outdoor seating is great. The place is super charming and your girlfriend will love you for taking her. There's a constant flow of beautiful people. Amazing place to enjoy food, watch beautiful people, and stare at other people's cute dogs. The service is where it falters from a full 5 star restaurant. They are not rude at all. They're actually very nice. They're just overwhelmed. There's basically one guy with an occasional 2nd that are the order taker, server, busser, barista servicing the whole place. You're going to get a lot of "please wait a few minutes", they're going to forget your drinks, it's going to take 15 minutes to get a dessert from the case. Go for the great food. It was immediately clear that the owners and chefs here are driven by a genuine philosophy, not just profit. You can feel the care and thought put into every single dish. Everything was impeccable--from the freshness of the ingredients and the flavor balance to the thoughtful details, like the choice of glassware and coffee cups. It's rare to see that level of care throughout the entire experience. I also ordered the pizza without high expectations, but it turned out to be better than many specialized pizza shops. It was truly outstanding. The two young staff members at the front were incredibly kind and welcoming as well. The only minor downside is the parking--it might be a bit tricky for first-timers, and the lot is somewhat tight. But honestly, that's just part of life here in L.A. As a big supporter of local businesses, I want to say that the food and service are so exceptional that the parking situation becomes a non-issue. It really is that good.
