Food this good could only be made with a mother's love! Sogol's plate is a great business run by great women and I would definitely recommend their to-go orders for busy students as the ordering and pick-up process were super easy. I ordered the Kotlet sandwich and it was super flavorful. You will not be disappointed and the portions were quite filling. Can't wait to order more amazing meals in the future!

Lovely duo of mother who handles the cooking and daughter who handles the communication- was a joy to work with on my first order. They are super accommodating and will make any of their dishes regardless of whether it's on the day's or even week's menu. I asked for the tachin and kotlet. The tachin was glisteningly bright and golden with a crisp but not too crispy crust and a comfortingly buttery and fluffy inside. Chicken was decently moist, and the sourness from the barberries and yogurt balanced everything well. The kotlets which were flatter than I'm used to, tasted quite delicate especially considering they're fried. When I was trying to decide between the kotlet and another item, she had said the kotlet can't be found anywhere else because her mom uses a special recipe for the sauce so then I was sold as I'm a sauce fiend. The day before my pickup I asked if they do mast o musir which I always order at Persian restaurants. She said that's actually the sauce that comes with the kotlet. This was great albeit also a little disappointing as I was looking forward to this really "special sauce" which ended up just being the mast o musir. I will say though that it was still absolutely scrummy yummy, garlicky shalloty goodness. Another thing was the hand-written notes that other folks seemed to receive attached to their bags, which sadly I did not. But all in all everything was sumptuous and I'm looking forward to my next order. It'll be hard to veer away from the tachin to try other items. So glad for this wonderful homecooking nearby. Persian cuisine is one of those that everyone says the best really is in the home and restaurants just don't compare. Thankfully I now have access!

I have been so lucky to eat Sogol's plate on many occasions. Made with lots of love, and everything is flavorful, filling, and thought out so well! An easy go-to that never fails for being what I want. Favorite foods include the potato patties with garlic yogurt sauce, barley soup, and the sosis sandwich, but I have loved everything I have eaten. Could not recommend more highly! Man, I love the Fesenlerj, and Ghorbeh Sabzi. They are both FIRE in taste. I ate for the first time a Sogol's Plate in which it was a recommendation from my girlfriend. Pretty expensive on the expensive side, but the portions are huge, and it make everything worth trying. Service was good too. Im coming back soon. read more

My in-laws are Persian, so I'm fortunate to know the satisfaction and wonder that comes from home cooked Persian food. And Sogol's Plate provides that authentic, passed down from one generation to the next, prepared all day, made with lots of love and intention, homey and delicious, type of Persian food. On the menu this weekend was the zereshk polo with chicken, tachin with chicken, and ghormeh sabzi with beef. They even threw in some free tadig which was such a nice touch! Everything was divine. However, the zereshk polo and tachin absolutely stole the show. So aromatic, fresh, sweet, flavorful and delicious. I couldn't get enough of those. I ravenously rushed from one bite to the next until my plate was empty. So bomb! If you order for pickup, then this is such a well priced meal too. And the owners are beyond friendly, patient and kind. We went back and forth on instagram trying to accommodate a date, order, and time. They were so helpful and receptive every step of the way. And when I arrived, they carried the food all the way to my car. So thoughtful. The only constructive thing I can say is that I wish there was more meat. I eat a lot of protein (shoot for 170g a day), so I would have liked a heftier portion of chicken and beef. But I eat way more meat than the average person. I'm sure that these protein portions would satisfy the majority of the population. All in all, this is a 5 star meal service. My Persian fiancée and I both highly recommend Sogol's Place. We'll for sure be back for more! read more

Amazing authentic homemade Persian food! Everything I had was so flavorful and reminiscent of the food my mom's friends would bring over when I was younger. I had the Persian Macaroni (bolognese) and that was amazing, seasoned very well with a delicious bite to the noodles. I also had the lentil rice and loobia polo which were delicious as well. I am SO happy Sogol's Plate was created and even happier that it is conveniently located close by in West LA! Excited to try out the other menu items! Sogol's Plate does not disappoint, with great service and tasty authentic meals, I'd highly suggest trying out some of these Persian dishes! I wasn't very familiar with Persian food previously but now am a big fan. My favorites include a celery stew which tastes light and clean but is soo full of flavor! The egg & potato salad is also refreshing and delicious. Supporting small business never tasted so good :) read more

I wish I had a photo to upload with this review, but I got so excited that I ate it all before I remembered that your phone should always eat first. But honestly, no picture would do justice to how delicious it was. I ordered the Fesenjan and it was superb- flavorful and great variety of textures with the pomegranate seeds. Highly recommend. I initially ordered because I wanted to support such a great cause, but the food was beyond all expectations. The quantity and packaging were also perfect. I can't wait to try more! read more

I got the Chicken Kotlet, Salad Olivieh, Salad Shirazi, and the Garlic Yogurt Dip. Delicious food. I've eaten Persian maybe twice prior to this and have always enjoyed it, but this meal blew me away. Gf and I ordered two dishes we knew nothing about--the gheymeh and the fesenjan. Both were outstanding but I had a particularly amazing experience with the fesenjan, which is a sweet&savory, slow-cooked chicken stew w/ pomegranate seeds sprinkled throughout that complement the dish beautifully. The stew had depth, chicken was moist, and the textures perfectly balanced alongside the crispy rice. A delicious & beautifully prepared Persian meal every time, Sogol's Plate is quickly becoming one of my regulars! Family based & family made, you can absolutely tell how much care & attention to detail goes into every meal. This food is out-of-this-world good. It's totally homemade and absolutely tastes like it. I had their potato pancakes with yoghurt sauce and creamy barley soup (which was so good that I actually didn't manage to take a picture before eating the whole thing). Not only is the food amazing and worth supporting in and of itself, but the people behind it (a single mom and her daughter) are as well. Don't miss out on this it is an absolute must-try. read more

Exactly what I was hoping for! The food (we got the celery stew and bolognese) was delicious and the portions were generous. Established in 2021.

Sogol's Plate came about from a single mom's passion for cooking delicious, homemade Persian food for her daughter and friends. While working as a busy hair stylist, cooking became a relaxing after-work pastime for Marjan. When her daughter, Sogol, left for college, she would prepare home cooked food in Tupperwares to give her daughter a little piece of home. During the pandemic when her hairstyling business took a pause, Marjan's cooking blossomed into more creative and delicious recipes that friends and loved ones grew to love. She adapted secret family recipes she had carried over from Iran to create one of a kind dishes. Having received orders from those in her inner circle, Marjan dreams of now sharing her passion and introducing the delicious and healthful Persian recipes with the greater Los Angeles community.

Adding the provided sumac and lemon helped, but I wouldn't order the kebabs again. Additionally, the hummus lacked creaminess, and the pita tasted like it was mass-produced rather than fresh. At one point, I walked to the restroom and, on my way back, saw the same waiter enthusiastically speaking Farsi and providing attentive, friendly service to several other tables. The contrast between how those tables were treated and how we were treated was impossible to ignore. Based on my experiences here, it certainly felt like customers who are Persian or speak Farsi receive a much warmer level of service than those who don't. The food is still good, but service is a big part of the dining experience. I left disappointed, especially after recommending this place to others. Unless you speak Farsi or are Persian expect mediocre to poor service. This shoutout is for you Amir! Hopefully management reads this review.

Delicious and authentic Persian food that did not disappoint. I grew up on ghormeh sabzi and Sogol's Plate's version tasted like home. The meat was cooked perfectly although the rest of the stew could have stood on its own as a vegetarian dish. The rice was light and fluffy too. It also came with tahdig, and I don't know what sort of oil they use to cook theirs, but it was the best tahdig that I've had in a long time. Not to mention their beautiful packaging and logo! Next time I would probably get more pita to soak up all the sauces. Restaurant was clean and bright with seating inside and out. Definitely recommend checking this out if you're in the area.

Guy I spoke to said it was $12.14 and said he had to charge $3 something to to switch out rice for naan after telling me he would just no charge me for the naan. Total meal went to $16 and change. Not that this is a huge amount of money, but this seems to be a recurring issue as I've been to this place multiple times and it's enough to turn me off on this place.
