We were in town from St. Pete, playing Black Diamond. We're big foodies and found this gem on Yelp after our round of golf. Me and my two sons went and it was spectacular! For starters, we had the clams, the crab cake and the short rib empanada, all were delicious. For entrees, we did the Ribeye, the Filet and I had the seafood risotto. We found this place by chance via Google and Yelp. The area itself isn't anything fancy so I was a little reluctant to eat somewhere with prices of about $20ish dollars or so per plate. Also I hadn't planned on being anywhere remotely dressy so I didn't want to walk in somewhere nice looking like I crawled out of the streets. My husband was determined to try it so I just agreed. Jessica was our waitress. She was very sweet and friendly. We had no idea what we wanted and she insisted we take our time and order on our own pace. We were so indecisive. We did. My son ordered the Seafood Rissoto, I had the crab cakes, and my husband had the special which was Encrusted Sea Bass. We also started with scallops and pork belly. I wasn't expecting much so we started our apps without snapping pics. Now I wish we had snapped proof. The scallops were good but that pork belly....YUM. They were large squared off melt-in-your-mouth, foie gras consistency bites. By the time we got our entrees we all ate off of each others' plates to sample the varying choices. My husbands sea bass was good. My crab cakes were super meaty....very little filler, and had a lemon citrus drizzle over it. Deeee-lish. But my son's risotto-amazing. It had a great smoky balcony flavor with hints of lemon. I think his was the best plate by far. Service was quick, nicely done interior yet with a family friendly ambiance, and amazing food. Went for lunch on a Tuesday. Only ones there were local business people. Three at one table and two at another. I'm thinking perhaps this is common for lunch there, professional people coming from the medical offices nearby. We always thought (based on the appearance of their website) we needed to be dressed a little nicer to go there, so when we had to dress a little nicer for an appointment up that way we stopped for lunch. Don't be intimidated by their super fancy website like we were, it's not a super fancy place. I wouldn't go if I was dressed in shorts and a T-shirt, but we wouldn't dress up as much as we were again. The inside is simple and plain with what appears to be acoustic foam on the walls and ceiling. It's placed in a pleasant pattern to look a little like art I guess. We were told by Jamie to sit anywhere. They have tables with comfy looking chairs on wheels and other tables with chairs that turned out to be not very comfortable and they are small. My husband ordered the Fish Of The Moment sandwich which was Mahi. He ordered it fried. I ordered the House Made Pasta with peas. I have posted pictures. My pasta portion looked small, but had to bring a little bit of it home. The sandwich came with house made fries and they were delicious. My husband said his sandwich was very good and I enjoyed my pasta. Nothing else came with the pasta. Jamie was nice. All in all it was okay. We want to go again for dinner. The domestic beer (in a bottle) was 3.00, which is okay. I won't pay more than 3 for a beer. It's not a very large place so I can see the benefit of making reservations if you're going at a time when restaurants are typically busy. I must add that we were there at lunch time. The menu gets considerably fancier for dinner and I would dress a little nicer for dinner than I did for lunch. read more

Very time we go here we have an outstanding meal. Whether it is fish, fowl or steak, it is always good. Some great wines, too. The decor is much better than it was back in "Rusty Duck" days, they actually have wines (gasp!) and it is one of the best restaurants in Citrus County. read more

We went there on Christmas Eve. The food was delicious, it was well prepared with interesting spicing and Garnish. The chef sure knows how to make everything look pretty. The seafood risotto was excellent. It was creamy and flavorful and my mother-in-law was very happy. Tonight, I had the immense pleasure of dining at Katch twenty-two and struggle as to where to begin in this review as it truly was an amazing experience, which started at the front door. After a warm welcome, our group was shown to our beautifully arranged table that was prepared prior to our arrival. The wait staff introduced themselves and working as a team took our drink orders and then after our remaining guests arrived began recommending appetizers. We decided on the empanadas, cedar key clams, lobster & scallop ravioli, and pork belly which was beautifully presented and delicious! Our entrees, were simplistically elegant and as we all ordered differently, provided an excellent opportunity to see and hear how delicious all of the days offerings were. I had the incredible pleasure of enjoying the Bistro Tender served with Yukon mash, baby arugula, and wild mushrooms and although not a big meat eater, enjoyed the melt in your mouth beef covered in gently cooked mushrooms. My only regret is that after enjoying our starters and entrees, I was unable to try their homemade sorbet! So, I am not from the Florida area, I was just visiting family. I am from NY area where theres is surplus fine dining available. Before this place I didn't think Florida had any hope in the fine dining department. I found this place on yelp and thought it would be nice to go somewhere that didn't serve crackers and beer. From the moment we walked in until the second we stepped out I was blown away. Especially since I wasn't expecting much I was really thrown off my rocker. Every dish was paired to perfection and displayed with beautiful presentation. I couldn't stop smiling the entire meal! I was so pleased with the whole experience. We called and got a table for two last Thursday last minute and let me say it was worth every minute and the drive. The server we had Lori was amazing and made us feel like we did not need to rush and having the restaurant to our selves was amazing, which from what I hear is rare for this to happen! The appetizers we had for starters was the, onion bacon bisque "Wow", pork belly "blessed I have ever tried", and the goat cheese and beet stack was amazing and my hubby who does not like beets loved it! I had the filet which was cooked to perfection and my husband had the salmon we were just blown away by the taste, presentation and the flavor was outstanding. We usually have to travel to Tampa or Orlando to find a fine dinning experience and no more will be need to travel that far. We will be back to try more on the menu to many great options to choose. Great addition to Citrus County! This was our first visit and we were pleasantly surprised. The exterior of the restaurant was not inviting but when we entered the restaurant we were greeted by the hostess Tiffany and some great smells. Our group enjoyed everything we ordered like the grouper with puréed cauliflower, the braised beef ribs and the lobster ravioli. We appreciated the sound dampening foam used to keep control of the noise level. Katch 22 will be a great spot for bringing our out of town guests. We look forward to our next visit! read more
