Full size po boy, side of rings and shrimp and oyster basket with hush puppies and fried okra.

Clean and well kept, is the first impression on this summer Sunday and traffic. Food came out. Staff was ok.Jenni is already raving about the oysters. The great news is that Jenni is really enjoying it and she can have a very prejudicial tooth. She said the oysters were "briny, silky pillows". The onion rings were good, but the breading, though delicious, could have been fried just a bit more. Overall, good food. First impress positive for the food. Under "my thin skin"section of this observation; when we arrived the place was slightly empty. The cashier may have said something to me that may have been a greeting. Nevertheless, no one was rude. Then more folks arrived and they received a hardy "Welcome to Kathy's". Again, I'm sure it was not meant to be rude, and were not regulars. Still my thin skin noticed that.

Combination gas station, convenience store, seafood market and super causal almost fast food cafe. I stop there every time I drive by and am hungry. consistently best fried shrimp i have every had. big FRESH shrimp with a very light tasty dusting of crust, perfectly cooked. side are solid but who cares. Not the easiest access, on the south side of I-10 feeder road just on the west side of the Brazos. But worth the stop.

I-10 treasure. I've driven by who knows how many times and only recently stopped. The facility is clean and ornate. The staff has been very friendly both times and they keep cleaning the already clean floors. Today I had a large catfish poboy, red beans & rice, jambalaya, red soda, and tea. Solid Solid Solid. I'll be back with my wife and kids!

Grilled chicken sandwich & potato salad

Not a bad spot for a quick meal that's right off the road, especially if you are not a fan of fast food chains or 7-11 packaged meals. They serve a lot of fried food with some seafood options, ranging from $9-16/person for a lunch meal + fountain drink. I had a grilled chicken sandwich with their home made potato salad. The chicken sandwich is moist and fairly basic - only having chicken and some lettuce and mayo on the bun, but tasty none the less. The home made potato salad pretty good - distinct mustard taste is unique and appreciated here. They have po'boy sandwiches, which can get pretty expensive if you get a whole one. A half + side is good enough for most lunches. Overall, much better than you would expect for a place that's connected to a gas station.

We were leery about stopping here but I'm so glad we did. Very nice environment, clean tables and floors and the food was awesome. I had the pork chop special. It was juicy and tender and flavorful and my boyfriend had the fish tacos and red beans. They are probably some of the best red beans I have ever eaten. Do yourself a favor and stop in if you are passing by!

Macaroni and cheese, I really liked it

I have been curious about this place every time we have passed it on our way in to Houston. It is a gas station, a seafood market, and a restaurant. We looked at the seafood counter, and everything looked fresh and well priced. The gas station seemed to have a nice variety of snacks and drinks. We ate at the restaurant, I had a fish sandwich and picked macaroni and cheese as my side. The fish sandwich was okay, the macaroni and cheese was awesome. It was the highlight of my meal. My husband had the fish and shrimp basket. He thought it wasn't that great and that it was overpriced. I would consider going back if I was hungry when we were passing by, but wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again.

The restaurant has a casual, vibrant atmosphere with a Louisiana-inspired vibe that makes it a nice spot for hearty meals. The menu features classics like po'boys, fried seafood platters, gumbo, and other spicy favorites, with generous portions and satisfying taste. Parking is convenient, with a decent-sized lot right in front that makes arrival easy. Service was friendly and efficient, with attentive staff delivering hot food in a timely manner. It was surprising to find the place pretty empty during the visit, which allowed for a quiet, relaxed meal but seemed unusual for the quality of the food. This spot is best enjoyed as an occasional treat--everything on the menu tends to be heavily fried, making it indulgent but not ideal for regular visits for health reasons. When the craving strikes every couple of years, Cajun Street delivers a flavorful experience worth the stop.

EXCELLENT! I did not expect to find something like this in a small small town. We were on our way…read moreto college station and wanted to get something to eat as we got closer to our destination. We checked Yelp for something other than Mexican food and this place had really great reviews. As soon as we walked it we knew it was going to be good. The menu isn't too large, which to me meant that they have spent a lot of time perfecting the things that are on the menu. The service was really good and as soon as we sat down, we ordered a couple of sodas and the Boudin balls. We took a couple minutes to look at the menu and everything looked really good, but the spicy chicken sandwich was really calling out to both of us. So we ordered those one with potato salad and one with rice. The Boudin balls were delicious. They were pretty large in size and the sauce that it came with had a little bit of a kick to it. My favorite thing was that it was mostly meat on the inside and the flavor was incredible. Same with the chicken sandwich. It also had a kick and by the time I was done my mouth was pretty warm. I thought the potato salad was a great way to help cool it off, and it was just as good as the sandwich. I loved the batter on the chicken, and I thought the bun was toasted perfectly. This would be a place I would go to regularly if I lived in the area. Parking was pretty tight and most of the spots were taken up so we did park in a spot we weren't supposed to, but luckily we didn't get towed!

When I tell you the spirit of Louisiana and NOLA was in the place! So you will miss the place if you aren't paying attention. The sign is small and the building looks like it used to be a church fellowship hall. It's not fancy and it's small, however, don't discount it. Don't judge a book by its cover and great things come in small packages. It's a family owned and run business. By the looks of it, it can probably seat 40 people and I'm pushing it with the number. However from the time you walk in until the time you leave, you feel like you're at your great aunt's house. It was five of us and when you walk in, it's seat yourself and first come, first serve. The food came out piping hot and cooked fresh. My husband and brother-in-law got the catfish platter with red beans and rice (no pork) and Mac-n-cheese. My sister and I got the Nawlins boil that had a crab cluster, shrimp, corn, potato, boiled egg and a sausage link. My nephew got a shrimp po-boy with fries. The food was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The fish and fries were crispy. The Mac-n-cheese isn't creamy but it isn't dry. Perfect amount of cheese and flavor. The red beans and rice had the perfect balance of flavor. The boil...my goodness the boil. They have the amount of the boil down to a science to make it a full meal. At first glance, I didn't think it would be seasoned well because the season looked like a dry rub. It wasn't saucy or juicy - until I took my first bite. I almost walked to the kitchen to kiss the cook. They are not skimpy on any of the food either. Even the po-boy had an overload of shrimp. When we were there, it was a packed house. There was also a large party who was rather disgruntled - not because of the service or food but because they were impatient. Remember this is a family owned business with 2 servers and maybe 3 cooks that cook to order. So if you're looking for quick food, this isn't the place. If you have time to sit, enjoy some great food with great company in a casual home style restaurant...this is your place.

The food is consistently flavorful, and whenever I'm missing New Orleans, this place gives me a taste of home. What keeps me coming back is not just the food, but also the outstanding customer service. The staff is always kind, welcoming, and attentive. Many times, I've placed an order before work, and they have it ready with the same level of care and hospitality as if I were dining in the restaurant. That level of service is truly appreciated. The food is always fresh, hot, and prepared consistently. One of my absolute favorites is the remoulade sauce. It is incredibly flavorful, tasty, and complements the meal perfectly. For health reasons, I recently ordered the Kids Catfish Meal, and it was the perfect choice. The portion size was more than enough, and I even had dirty rice left over to enjoy later. The meal includes an entrée, side, and drink, making it an excellent value for the price. It's refreshing to find a restaurant that delivers both quality food and exceptional customer service on a consistent basis. The employees are truly a jewel, and their dedication does not go unnoticed. Highly recommended! (5 Stars)
