The atmosphere is wonderful. It is a bit cramped and you may bump into a few folks, but it is festive. If you get there in early, you can find free parking on the street, if not, you can valet park in the parking lot.

Are desserts/coffee offered here?

No, although a slice of cheese cake or a signature cupcake would be nice.

The mac and cheese wasn't really as creamy as I like but it was still really good. I wanted to take my out of town guest somewhere they could only experience in Atlanta. And, I wanted them to go back to Chicago and say what a great dining experience they had. In terms of the food, and drinks, location, they were well pleased and said I picked a winner. This new lounge is tucked away in midtown and is perfect for an intimate date or a spot to relax after work. It's somewhat hard to find located on Piedmont between 9Th and 10Th underneath the Helmet Salon. I began to like the fact that it is off the beaten path because I felt like I found a gem that no one else knew about. Kat's Cafe is owned by a husband and wife and named after the wife Katarina her Husband Mike is responsible for the beautiful decor. Great staff great atmosphere. The staff has a way of making you feel at home as they remember your name throughout the visit. I think that is very remarkable seeing as how at times the places gets very packed. I went on Fridays where they have a happy hour called Martini Fridays. The martinis are great I'm in love with the "lady sings the blues" and better then that they are $5 from 5pm - 9pm. The Appetizers are $3 and i was pleasantly surprised that they were a good portion size (hence the discounted price). I'm not a crab leg fan but after I tried their crab legs i fell in love. The crowd is very professional and laid back. This is my new Friday spot after work! read more

Wow! I was just there tonight for comedy night and left before the opening act was over. The comedian and host started the show with a F@cK France what about Kenya routine and started using the N word... a lot... was calling people in the audience Nig... and said Kenya was about N's killikng N's... then he started into a d!ck pic facebook routine... I just moved from a small town in Va where prejudice was much more prevalent, and I thought things were gonna be better here... he offended many mixed couples in the audience, and even the black seemed embarrassed... and I'm thinking.... Midtown Atlanta... comedy night... really- is that the best you have... sad!!! over for me very early... is it really totally OK and comical for blacks to call each other N's... Atmosphere, hospitality, and nothing but a great time. We popped in on a Thursday, not knowing it was their Open Mic Night. My best friend and I came in from out of town looking for a local jazz spot and came across this gem from the reviews. This place did not disappoint, but if anything exceeded our expectations. The bartenders, the host, the musicians and even the owner were so welcoming it's no wonder we stayed the whole night. Being that it was my first night in Atlanta for the first time ever, it definitely set the bar high. Now whenever I think of ATL this place is what encompasses my experience. I was even convinced by a local, as well as the bartender, to take a few shots and go up there to perform. I want to give it 2.5 stars. I have been there multiple times and each time was different. I had a date one time and we sat at the bar towards the back. It was nice because I had great company and I love live music as well. The bad thing was the huge wall blocking the view of the band. The good thing was the bartender gave my date and I a cup of caramel too take home! OH YEAH! Next time: Stopped in and got great seats and the music was excellent as always but the service was horrible. The waitress JACKED my drinks up plenty of times and finally the bartender sent me a glass full of straight liquor. It worked out since I just mixed it with my previous drinks. Overall I give it a 2.5. Enjoy the music and maybe the drinks but don't depend on excellent service or a fancy atmosphere. It is a hole in the wall. read more

My wife gave me a a surprise 50th birthday party at this spot on 4-21-2012. Simply put...this joint was the shit. It was perfect. I can't wait to go by on a Thursday night for the jam session. I may still be reeling from the emotional high of my surprise party, but I am not one to take the time to write a review like this. I loved this joint. Kat was cool, and the staff was very accomodating and cool. They even thanked us for being such cool, laid back customers. The band was jammin! The place was just the right size as far as I'm concerned. Me and my East St. Louis homeys had a ball. It reminded us of the many clubs we used to frequent down on the St Louis Riverfront. Awesome night! I went and sat in the room right beside the stage. For free. I ordered the shrimp quesadilla and the shrimp pizza. Coming in, I went to the bar first and foremost before it was time to go upstairs, because it doesn't start until a certain time. By that, I mean the live music. You can sit in front of the staging area or you can sit on the side where the bar is. You can hear the music either way. When it starts to get a little packed, people will be standing around, so just keep that in mind. There's a nice amount of space, but not a hell of a lot of space to where you can bring a team of 20 with you. Just keep that in mind. I did get a drink, and it was pretty good. It was basic, though, similar to an old fashioned, so it wasn't like it was rocket science or anything like that. It was a decently made drink, and it had balance to it, so that's all I could ask for. Your music lasts for about an hour, I think, and then they'll take a break and come back later on. The second wave of people will come around this time, so just keep that in mind. You may want to get there at a reasonable time, because the later you get, the harder it is going to be finding seats. I hear that on the weekends it definitely gets a little more turnt up, but at least for the music component it was perfectly fine to me. I would definitely go back again just to catch some good vibes.

Now they do have street parking so keep that in mind but that's always the first to go so just keep that in mind as well. It seems that the food is solid so I didn't even try any food because I'd already eaten. Maybe I get to give another go on a good night and try the food to give it an accurate assessment but as of right now it was just a typical bar situation. I was there on a weekend night, and it was super chill and had a really good performance situation happening on stage. This one is a little bit weird because you have to do certain things to be able to get in. It's not like it's an escape room situation, but at the same time, it's a little active. Not overly active to where you would be taxed when you get there. But you have to go follow some instructions and once you get in it's all gravy! There's a lot of space for table so you can sit in front of the stage or you can sit in the back or the bar is which is also very pristinely kept. Or their ceas behind that. And there's even a bowl of alley somewhere in the cut. It is a really really good spot. The entertainment was on point. They were playing a lot of hits, lot of old school which I appreciate it. Loved it. The drinks were fired. The bartender had a lot of personality and it was super engaging. Just what you want from Superior customer service. I would 101% go back. It was a lot of fun and a really good vibe. We just happened to walk in off of humbug, but I actually might remember reservations next time. Actually sit in the crowd to enjoy the music. Loved it.

Upon arriving, we were asked if we knew the secret passcode. I didn't realize we needed to know a passcode, but the guy gave us some hints, and we eventually got it. We were instructed to go downstairs with a paper slip and "deposit" it into a deposit box downstairs. Upon doing this, we were granted access inside! It was pretty cool honestly! We sat at the bar upon arriving and ordered some drinks. They have a really nice drink menu with different cocktails and all the other liquors. They also have a full food menu too. Some people around us got food, and honestly, it looked really good! Our bartender Joey, was awesome! He was friendly and answered some of our questions about the drinks. He even made us espresso martini shots!! Hats off to Joey! The vibes inside are very prohibition-y. They had live music when we went, and I think they have live music most days during the week too. Roaring Social is located in downtown Decatur, so not too far of a walk from many other shops/bars/restaurants. We ubered, so I am not too familiar with parking, but I think there are parking garages nearby and street parking. I would definitely come back here in the future!

Well - if you really want it... you'll have to wait here. Sometime in excess of 30 minutes. This place is one of the closest I've ever felt to the afterlife - in a very mediocre way. He kept checking on us throughout the entire night, made sure everything was good, and really helped make the experience a great one. We had such a good time! When we came back the second night, Miss Tanya took care of us and made sure we had a great section. As soon as we told her we were from Brooklyn, she treated us like family! She was warm, welcoming, attentive, and made us feel right at home. It's one thing to have a nice atmosphere, but the people are what really make you want to come back.
