I went to Honda Cars of Katy for airbags recall. After the airbag was replaced, there is a bolt left on dashboard. I believe the technician forgot where the bolt he placed after he disassembled airbag and didn't put it back. When I came back home and found the bolt on the dashboard, and drove back to Honda Cars of Katy, asked him if he forget the bolt reinstalled back. He explained that bolt was replaced. I do not believe it since that bolt is new. why it must be replaced? However, I have to accept his explanation. After a few weeks, I realized rattle sound from the airbag cover when I steer the wheel. I went Honda Cars of Katy again and need them fix it. Within a few minutes, the technician said it is done. I steer wheel without driving. It looks like there is no rattle sound in static position without driving. However, when I drive and make normal turning the car, the rattle sound appears again. I need to go to Honda Cars of Katy for the fourth time for that drive side airbag recall. One airbag recall, I need to go there for 4 times, and still not sure if they can reinstall airbag properly. read more

I am a former car salesman and have purchased and assisted friends and family on many deals. The TWO online chat and email response agents/BDC completely deceived me to get me in the door. I presented them my best internet/TrueCar deal IN WRITING and they said they would have no problems matching it, even clearing it with a manager. When I arrived, I was turned over to a floor salesman who basically started my deal from scratch, wasting two hours of my time before telling me that the manager would not match the price or even come close. I spoke to the manager directly who only apologized that he would not take responsibilities for his online/telephone agent's practices. I am pondering litigation under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act. I had previously spoken with Ricardo Quiroz, internet sales manager at Spring Branch Honda a few miles away down the I-10. He also said he would match my best deal. He was totally up front and professional and even after I stiffed him and went to Katy first, I was able to get my best deal with total professionalism at Spring Branch. The difference was AMAZING. Take the word of a former car salesman. Katy Honda is huge and beautiful and has dozens of people working there. All that costs money. To pay the bills you can prioritize customer service or try to steer as many people through to door as possible by any means. I think their choice is obvious. Last Friday my daughter and I drove to Honda Cars of Katy to see a 2001 Jeep Liberty that was advertised on their website at $8,382. Right away the salesman said there would be "no dealing" on he vehicle and that the web price was the lowest available. We were good with the price and liked the vehicle. Even though the salesman tried everything he could to sell us a different car, we were stuck on the Liberty. The salesman went off to get the "final" price on the vehicle, my daughter got on the phone with her bank to finalize the financing, the bank was just about the close, but they were willing to get the dealer paid but when the salesman came back, the final price of the vehicle had jumped to $9,800! THIS WAS BEFORE TTL! (tax, title and license). The salesman started explaining that there were "dealer extras added on" like $300 worth of nitrogen instead of air in the tires! Then he started drawing lines through a few items listed saying "we can take this off, and this off". My first thought was "why are they listed then? Just to see if you could get us to pay for them???" They didn't understand why my daughter got mad and walked out! They listed a price, we accepted the price, then they changed the deal!!! The manager followed her out and she told him several times to go away! We came back to Austin where you can actually TRUST the price listed! The sad thing was if they had sold her the Liberty as it was listed, they would have been able to sell her a new Honda this summer! They lost TWO sales because they are LIARS!!!! read more

If I could a negative for this one. My family absolutely love Honda vehicles. Our future purchases will NOT be at THIS location. When the finance guy was going over the paperwork about warranty, he said that you have 30 days to change your mind. He failed to mention that only half of the warranty items could be cancelled. In addition, we mentioned that the payments seemed high according to an online calculator. He assured us the calculator was wrong and it's because we really will be making 56 payments versus 60 payments. Well he lied about that because we have 60 payments. This is probably our fault for not catching that part. But I will never return to this location for another purchase due to the finance guy. Brought my car in for an oil change a little before noon. Was told the wait would be about 30-45 minutes which seemed pretty standard so I brought my GOT book in to read while I waited. 2 hours later, I'm halfway through the book and they finally call my name. Would've rated higher if the guy had estimated the wait time better. I'm not an unreasonable person, I understand it gets really busy. However, people that arrived after I did got their car before me. And then when I'm getting my keys they ask if I want to get other parts of my car serviced today. Um...no. Poor customer service. Long story short, when you pull up for service no one comes to your car. You need to go in to get service unlike other Honda dealerships I have been to. They do not offer shuttle service and when I came to pick up my car he gives me the key and says its outside. I had to go looking for it. Service here takes FOREVER!!! I had an appointment at 8:45 & 2.5 hrs later my car still isn't ready. It came in for a transmission flush & a rear windshield wiper replacement. 2 hrs & 50 min later they ring me up. I get to the car & see that they replaced the front wipers instead of the back. Now I have to go back & get them to fix it & retrieve my front wipers because my husband just replaced them 2 days ago. The service adviser says he can't credit my credit card since the transaction is closed out. He can give me a credit in my account for next time. I tell him I don't want a credit & what makes you think I'll come back here next time? Manager credited the money & finally left after 3 hrs. You would think if anything they would mess up on the transmission fluid & that changing the rear wiper would be the simple part. Guaranteed over 2 hr wait time EVERYTIME no matter what is getting done to it. Find a different place for service. read more

Had a check engine code pop up on my 2012 accord. $95 to read the code here($95 does go towards services though). $0 @ AutoZone to run diagnostics. Had a faulty catalytic converter quoted at about $1140 to replace(one), theres two on the v6. I asked what the part cost, and turns out it's about $310(reasonable price) but they said it'd take 5.5hrs of labor so that puts labor at roughly $150/hr here. Im no mechanic but this was for bank one cat or the one in the front, yes the bolts are rusty but theres only about (7) i believe and (2) o2 sensors, and maybe 4 bolts to take out a fan. Guy helping me seemed a little pushy to get the work done asap. I declined, went to a performance shop and asked if they could install some aftermarket high flow cats, guy seemed more than happy too, said he could replace the bank one cat in about an hour depending, said bank two cat( the cat in the back )would be a little more hard and longer as it sits in the very back of the engine bay. Quoted at $90/hr labor. Will most likely be going here for that. Also had a cracked fog light quoted at about $230 for oem replacement and around $170 for labor. Just ordered oem replacement off Amazon for $130. Called another local shop while at honda and was quoted about $115 for install. Timing belt replacement quoted at honda for $1250, just ordered oem honda parts timing belt kit online for $140. Tune up(they said consists of spark plug replacement) quoted at $495. Just ordered oem plugs(6) for $63 total on amazon. All in all if you wanna know everything thats wrong and don't mind paying $95 go here. But i'd recommend going else where for services performed. On a positive note. I really like the blonde girl at the service desk(Ava i think was her name) nice smile. Asked her for the fog light install quote while i was waiting and although she didn't know off the top of her head she quickly got me an answer. I'd only come back here to see her smile again and maybe get the foglight installed as I technically have $95 of service credit that i already paid for. Update: ordered (2) new catalytic converters and was able to change both front and rear with the help of a buddy. He's more mechanically inclined than me but has never worked on Hondas. Took us under 4 hours total to change both catalytic converters(bank one and two), including pizza break, clean up, and test drive. Spark plugs, all 6 were changed in about 30min or less. read more

This entire dealership, both sales and service, gives horrible customer service. I took my car in to have my front bumper repaired. The right side had become loose but the left side remained factory fresh. I brought it in asking the bumper to be restored to it's original condition, and I then showed them the left side as a basis of comparison. I told them I wanted my bumper restored to a factory fresh condition. The service consultant inspected my car, recorded my repair request, and had my car taken to their garage. An hour later he comes back to tell me the bumper won't be repaired under warranty because the mechanic noticed signs of impact damage -- three small chips. It bothered me that they didn't consider that two signs of damaged don't necessarily show a cause-and-effect relationship. As far as they knew, maybe the chipped bumper happened after the bumper already became loose, or maybe they were signs of two unrelated events that happened months apart. But they were set on saying the bumper was becoming loose because of impact damage and thus no warranty coverage. I'd have to pay out of pocket. Regardless, I decided to pay out of pocket to have my bumper restored. I was afraid it was going to get worse if I didn't repair it. So I leave the car there and come back later in the day after receiving a call telling me my car was fixed. The first thing I have to do when I arrive is pay for the repair. Then they give me the keys, and then they tell me to take a look at it before I go. You'd think they'd ask you to inspect it before you paid, and have someone walk around the the car with you. But I paid, took my keys and inspected my car, only to find that the bumper was still visibly loose. It was better than before but it wasn't a perfect fit like the other side of my car. I bring the service consultant outside, he calls a technician to take a look, and the technician tells me these types of repairs normally are not able to be completed to 100% satisfaction. It's normal for people to live with a slight defect. They offered to try ordering a replacement part that might support my bumper better, but they weren't going to offer any guarantees of a full repair. I decided to ask for a refund, because this was information they should have given me up front, before I gave them my money and car for a full repair. Had I known, I would have been able to take the car somewhere else for a second opinion, or choose to drive the car another 1000 miles and see if the damage got worse or if it was something I could live with and save my money. The point is, they didn't give me full disclosure about the unreasonableness or improbability of my repair expectations. They took my money under false pretenses and expectations and only after the fact, when I complained that I wasn't satisfied, did they disclose to me that my repair request was a long shot to begin with. I later found out, that some Honda dealerships actually have a body shop with specialist who are Honda certified and who can repair my type of problem. I know this because I did take my car to another Honda dealership for a second opinion. But by then it was too late. The Honda Cars of Katy dealership either doesn't have that option or didn't offer it to me. So my gripe is this. Be sure to have a mechanic or technician look at your car and speak to you, and answer any questions you may have about the repair work you want done. Don't let the service consultants convince you of anything. They're just there to push the paperwork, give you the bill, and act as a middle-man between you and the garage. Get an opinion on what your asking for, and then take your car to another shop for a second opinion. Ideally, these clowns should take the time to listen to their customers and inform them about he likelihood or practicality of their repairs, but in reality, they'd rather just get your car, get your credit card charged, and then send you on you way. And lastly, what made this experience worse was the rude, condescending attitude of the service director who evaluated my request for a refund. The guy was a complete jerk and had no sympathy for the misrepresentation of the service and repair work I thought I was going to get. At the very least the guy could have offered me a free oil change and a percentage of a refund with a promise to train his service people better to inform their customers before cash and labor are exchanged. My advice is go to another dealership where the people do care about taking their share of responsibility for any misunderstanding and unfulfilled expectations they may have contributed towards. Do not part with your money or car until you know exactly what's to be expected from both parties -- you and the dealership! read more

Next thing you know it's like I'm bothering Nick of finance to look it up for me. He spoke to me as if I was an idiot and then told me to call his own companies financial service and tell them they are wrong. After buying a couple of cars here you would think they are going to treat you better than this but I was wrong. There service branch is pretty good and I usually take my car there because it is so close. I have not had my car worked on in a while and so so many negative reviews. I think I too will go somewhere else. I had the same experience when I first went to purchase a car there. The salesman told me all the same jargon. Looked like a great deal until he started changing everything. Needless to say I told him I was not stupid and had purchased at least 8 cars on my own. I walked out too. **PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU SHOP HERE** These are the words of my fiancé who shopped with these evil individuals: I will NEVER go back to this dealership again. If there was a Negative Star I would pick that for this review due to how horrible this place is. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU AVOID this Honda of Katy dealership at all cost. This company really makes you believe the rumors that all salesmen and saleswomen are true liars. We drove over an hour to get to this dealership after they promised us a price on a certain vehicle in stock knowing we were already going to go through a credit union for our financing. They will do anything to get you through the door. One of the saleswomen we spoke to before we drove an hour up there knew this and agreed to match another dealership on price. Once we arrived, all was going well and the vehicle was available. We discussed our credit union rate with the salesman Jose that the women (Alyssa) had referred us to since she was not there and said he could get us a very low percent rate in the 1.9% zone. After spending an hour with the financing person and finding out that was a huge lie and running my credit through the dirt, we declined and decided to proceed with our credit union. He then steps out only to surprise us once again... He now says that they will only offer the price match only if we go through Honda finance. Not only that, but they are going to jack up the price another $1,000!!! I walked out infuriated!!! These people are the scummiest liars I have ever encountered dealing with car sales. Here is the outrageous part: THEY KICKED ME OUT AND MADE ME WAIT FOR A RIDE OUTSIDE IN BELOW FREEZING TEMPERATURE. I repeat...LEFT ME IN BELOW FREEZING TEMPERATURE TO WAIT FOR A RIDE HOME!!! Keep in mind I was a dropped off due to me assuming the car was mine so I waited in 25 DEGREE WEATHER FOR A HALF HOUR!! I understand they were closing but have the decency to at least leave me by the door inside!! That is pure cruelty. In conclusion, we drove over 50 miles to get here in freezing cold temperatures after be promised a price match on a model only to be rejected after we didn't want to go with their "Low financing cost" which was WAY HIGHER then what they say it was going to be at 1.9%. Then, they pull the carpet out under us by jacking up the final price. Then to make things personal, they kick me out into the 25 Degree weather to wait for a ride! Fantastic job Honda of Katy. You have officially lost ANOTHER customer. AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP AT ALL COSTS. I will be sure to report this to the BBB and leaving reviews on Facebook, Yelp and Google. I was told they had a car there I found advertised online only to find that when I arrived, the car had been sold the previous day. They offered their apologies, then tried to sell me something else. I actually like that something else, and made them an offer. We got close, but after agreeing on the price, then they showed me the final numbers that included about $1100 worth of upcharges. What are these??? 1) Data Dots. WTH is data dots? The salesmen could not explain it. 2) Nitrogen for my tires, a lifetime of nitrogen. The atmosphere is 78% Nitrogen, 21% Oxygen, and 1% everything else. Nitrogen works well in aircraft tires and race car tires, but I don't need to pay 300 for what is already free. 3) Lifetime oil changes. I was willing to pay for that one..... Anyways, I was turned off by their approach and would not recommend them. read more

Bought a car from honda cars of Katy 1 1/2 years ago. They run a deal where you can purchase oil changes for the life of your vehicle for $400.00. I bought this deal with my car. The wait to get your oil changed is ridiculous! They open the express service dept at 6am, if I get here at 6:45 I am sure to be here till at least 10am. There is a wait no matter what day of the week you come here. It's not worth buying the lifetime of oil changes. Buying my car was a good experience, getting the oil changed is not. read more

She assured me that everything was included in the price of the car and that the extended warranties she was talking about were included in the original quoted price. It turned out that they were actually not included and she added them on. The final invoice do not even mention them. When I went there trying to cancel them (before 30 days) she told me they were not cancellable but only one, the mechanical breakdown contract. Worst place ever. When I came to that place, a lot of people were around doing nothing, no one even came to help me. I had to ask for help. When I discussed about the car, the financial department didn't communicate clearly enough for me to understand, I had to pay more than what I expected. They wanted to get the reams back, that was in our agreement. I had to come back and forth. At the beginning they let me get a rental car (for their benefits cause they did want the reams back so bad). After swapping the reams,my car had problem, I had to bring it back, they reset it and it happened exactly the same. I had to brought it back again, they didn't even let me get the rental car the second time because I am under 25. It was all their fault, it cost me money and time. If you want to get a car, stay away from this company. Otherwise you will be very mad and you'll be in trouble soon. Worst customer service I've seen. Took my 2008 Honda Odyssey to them to take a look at why the AC was not working. I have been servicing my van here since i bought it at this dealership in 2008. It was blowing hot air, but would intermittently blow cold. I was charged $150 for diagnostics and was told compressor needs to be replaced and would cost $1200. Since it was large expense, based recommendations from friends took the car to Your Honda Shop near by for a 2nd opinion. The technician after spending less than 5 mins, determined that it was because of a faulty relay switch. Replaced it for free and was out of there with a perfectly working ac in less than 15 mins. Either Honda Cars of Katy don't know what they are doing or they know, but choose to rip off customers. Never taking my car to Honda Cars of Katy again. read more
