Absolutely do not recommend coming here. We arrived 30 minutes to close for a quick drink (2 people) and the cashier/bartender was incredibly unfriendly. She rushed us out the door before we could even try the Kava and there were still several large parties seated. Walking in on a sunday night we weren't expecting to lounge and stay long but figured the staff would at least make the quick experience a positive one. We asked maybe 2 questions and she cut off my boyfriend when he ordered. "Card or cash?" This impatient attitude didn't allow me to order a drink for myself. We proceeded to tell her it would be cash, however I wanted to add 2 more drinks.... Meaning 3 total. She gave us the wrong total, my bf corrects her and after giving us change she left to serve our drinks. We sat at a booth and the gal scoops the kava/tea into a drink carrier. Setting it on the bar-counter she motions to us that our order was ready. With any business customer service is everything... but at $20 per drink (that was the kava recommended) you'd expect at MINIMUM, polite service. Having to-go containers for the drinks was expected..but it would've changed the wholeee mood of our visit if she just mentioned they were pre-closing/in a hurry. It would've cost her nothing to be kind to 2 brand new customers and offer courtesy. The energy of this visit was way off from what you'd expect. NOT relaxing, welcoming or peaceful. We live nearby and love to try new things so having this spot as a local alternative to traditional bars was an amazing idea. it would take a miracle for us to return or invite friends to spend money on their overpriced facade of "kava kulture." read more

The atmosphere of the place is really nice. The workers are extremely quick and will have you with your drink in as fast as it takes to take a breath. I think because it's premade--as to be expected, so not a problem there. I wish they sold the raw K-Tea powder though, I know some of these places sell the kava tea powder so it would be nice to have that for the K-tea too. It feels really jungle vibed and it's super a e s t h e t i c . . . Which I LOVE. A rainforest cafe vibe would be AWESOMER. I also wish the half gallon of k-tea wasn't out of stock so much. I assume it's a hot item or something. Because if you're not going to sell the k-tea powder, at least have more half gallons in stock! Overall, this is a nice place. This is a great place to study or work as they have comfy couches and the lights are dimmed perfectly such that it's not harshly lit but also not so dark that it makes me sleepy. They're open quite late, too. The kava tasted good but I wondered why it seemed they didn't add a fat to it such as coconut or cows milk. That usually makes the extraction far more potent. I didn't feel the kava at all and I think that might be why. All in all, I had a good experience and will definitely be back. read more

This place is very unprofessional and run down. It was our first time trying kava and our experience was awful. As soon as we walked in we got weird vibes immediately - it was very dark with a few people inside and everyone stared at us. We were never greeted by the man working and he was in a heated argument with some lady sitting at the bar top (swearing and all). It felt like we were interrupting them hanging out with their friends. Not once were we recommended any choices as it being our first time, and the guy looked like he didn't even care to be there. The drink itself was nasty too - not sure if that's how kava is supposed to taste but we were disappointed seeing their drinks made with just a squirt of artificial syrup. Also, the sizing is a lot smaller than you'd think so be prepared to receive your drink in a kid size cup. I would try it again but definitely won't be coming back to this establishment. We were almost tempted to walk out right at the beginning because of how awkward and uninviting it was. I'm shocked this place even has 4 star ratings. read more

Looks like a the staff is on drugs, with all their buddies hanging out at the bar. Their bathroom is absolutely disgusting!! Smells like piss and looks like it's cleaned about 1 time a month. When I told him I was new to kava and this was my first time visiting, he took the time to guide me through the menu, recommending I start with the high potency as my introductory drink. Even though he did forget to make my order, he promptly made up for his mistake by admitting fault and sincerely apologizing. Once he remembered, the drink was made in a jiffy. Some 10 mins later as I was digesting a good book and taking in the energy of the Kava the same young man offered me a Passion Tea on the house to make up for the inconvenience.
