I've been a regular since 2019, and I CANNOT go back to other boba shops. Ever. The food is amazing, and the Thai coffee is unmatched. The employees are the absolute sweetest (sometimes they even throw in free stuff) and while their English isn't perfect, they are incredibly kind. For my fellow autistic people who deal with overstimulation: the vibe here was perfect. The menu is easy to understand. It is the single location that didn't make me want to rip my hair out. There aren't 20 TVs and loud music playing all at once; it was always quiet. Many other locations, I can't stand being in there 5 minutes without dissociating or flipping out in my mind. I remember there used to be an art pinboard and games around the time I first visited, though I think they removed those ages ago. The place was decorated so cutely and had its own unique vibe I didn't find anywhere else. Unfortunately, as of June 2026, they're closing their doors to make way for some corporate chain that looks like it has no character whatsoever. RIP to a real one. I am actually so effing SAD, dude. So yeah, it isn't worth going anymore since they no longer exist it seems. I hope the founders are doing well since it was family owned. Very cute little shop with boba and ramen! The food and service was amazing. I got the tonkatsu Ramen with beef, which had a very good flavor. The broth was amazing, noodles, meat and other inclusions were perfectly cooked. The service was great!. Super friendly staff and very helpful. I did not get any Boba, but we'll plan to next time. Was in town and having lunch a few doors down and saw this boba tea cafe. Decided to pop on in. The interior wasn't the cleanest, but was cutely decorated. The menu offered not only boba teas and smoothies, but staple foods such as ramen and gyoza. I decided upon a Green Apple Fruit Tea with Lychee Jelly ($7.35) and the hubby ordered a blended Cookies and Cream ($7.75). Both were good albeit quite sweet. Service while not the most welcoming, was efficient and prices are on par for the area. There's a dog friendly patio to dine on too. Overall, I'm grateful to have found and enjoyed a boba tea from this cafe while traveling through Albuquerque. read more

Jalena was at the register to help us. She recommended some of the favorites and we got them all. The tacos we tried were so delicious! We also had musubi that were yummy. Everything tasted fresh. The customer service was perfect. She was patient and knew her menu. The building was small, clean and decorated nicely. There was a lot of unique items for sale. The kids loved looking at everything displayed. The tapioca wasn't my favorite. It tasted different then what I'm use to. I had a chance to stop by Kawaii Boba Cafe out of whim because I was a bit early for a meeting and wanted to find somewhere to grab some snacks and relax a bit. I like that Kawaii Boba Cafe is in a strip mall area with many other vendors. This means, there are plenty of parking spots. The cafe itself is slightly small (with just 2 tables of 4 inside--and a few tables outside). The menu is all Asian snacks and quick meals along with drinks. I tried their Thai tea boba and had their musubi for a light meal. I like that the service was face, the staff were pleasant and the meal itself tasted quite good. While I couldn't customize the sweetness (I don't like it to be too sweet), my Thai tea boba wasn't overly sweet at all. The musubi was made quickly, had a decent size (2 large one for ithe $6 price!) and brought me back thinking of when I last had spam musibi back when I was living in Seattle 5 years ago. Overall, I like the place and wouldn't mind stopping by again. During the winter when the winter is cold though..you may have to take it to go as there are just a few tables (with maybe 8 seats total) inside. read more

The taro shake was really good with a nice flavor and properly cooked boba. The ramen had a tasty rich broth and noodles had the perfect chew. I think this is a top 3 ramen spot in town. The egg was a normal ABQ ramen style egg that had very little flavor and was hard boiled. Service was order and pay at a counter. They were friendly. The ambiance is a Japanese boba store with 3 tables, Japanese music, and some items to purchase. I would recommend this place for boba and ramen. read more

We had the ramen here, it was good. Nothing out of this world but I'd go back to try the boba.

The spam Musabi wasn't like Hawaii but it was alright. The Ramen was good but there was no mention of assembly. The noodles were uncooked and it was a to go order so the water wasn't hot enough to cook them. The gal working was very nice but seemed very frazzled because there was a lunch rush. Basing this review from a previous visit a couple weeks ago. Visited here for the first time on a Saturday afternoon. Conveniently located in the same area as the Flix Brewhouse. Perfect for a quick snack and Boba drinks. Decided to give this place a try. Got to try the Tonkatsu Ramen and some Spam Musubi. I got the order to go, the food was prepared fresh and the Ramen was still hot when I got home. And I don't live close to this restaurant at all. The Ramen had great flavor and it wasn't salty as most Ramen places I've tried. As for the Spam Musubi, I'm glad there were 2 pieces in the container. Because for the price, I was thinking that it was a little pricey for just 1. It was tasty and I enjoyed it. The restaurant is still opened during this stay at home orders. You can go in and place your order, but would have to stay outside the restaurant while you wait. I'm pretty sure you can make phone orders too. On a side note, the hours are off sometimes, here on Yelp it says they're open til 9 pm. But the time I had visited just recently, they closed at 6 pm and only had Boba drinks available. A little disappointing since I was looking forward to getting some Ramen that day. Small little place but i wanted a teriyaki chicken bowl and this place gave me exactly what i was looking for. It was super hot and fresh. I also got the chicken gyoza and they were really good. They are steamed, i prefer crispy or fried but with the chili sauce they were good. Cashier was very friendly and the service was fine. I will definitely eat there again. Tonkatsu ramen is delicious! Super filling, very generous portion served piping hot to go. The pork bone broth is deliciously savory and not salty. Noodles were ideal al dente. My only wish is that they had sweet corn instead of baby corns. Seaweed, mushrooms, and fish cake were tasty. The soft boiled egg was slightly salty for my taste but perfectly cooked, marinated in soy sauce? Spam musubi is a very filling snack, can't really go wrong with salty pork - yum. Potstickers were fine, to me they were similar to Ling Ling frozen chicken and vegetable dumplings. Still, a good companion to a bubble tea if you're looking for a light bite. The food is wonderful, i have been going here for years and it is amazing, however the customer service has slowly gotten worse, they used to have a worker who was very friendly and nice and helpful, and now the young girl who works at the counter is dismissive, rude, and impatient. It was a cold, stormy day today so we decided to try a new (to us) ramen place to warm us up! Kawaii did not disappoint. First off, their online ordering system was super easy to navigate. When I got to the restaurant my order was ready and the lady working was super kind. The store itself is pretty small so I was kinda glad we got it to go. The food was delicious! We got pork belly bao which was delicious and actually ended up being both our favorites out of everything we ordered. The toppings were just so generous and tasty! We also got the BBQ bao buns, but those were a bit hit and miss. Some bites were flavorful and others were an odd texture. We both enjoyed the ramen though! The packaging had the toppings separated from the broth so everything still tasted fresh even though we were eating it 30+ minutes after pick up. The broth was flavorful while the noodles were cooked to perfection. Thai tea with boba was good too. Overall we really enjoyed our meal from Kawaii and will go back for more ramen! If I could, I would give this 3.5 stars. The extra 0.5 is for the boba alone and this is coming from a person who does not enjoy boba. I think the best way to describe this cute little spot is that it's primarily an amazing boba spot that also happens to serve Ramen. Husband and I came across this place while trying to appease a ramen hankering at 6 in the evening on a Sunday when most of our usual Ramen eats are closed. Husband had the ramen combo (black garlic tonkotsu & a mango green tea with lychee boba). I had the veggie ramen (no boba for me thank you). What should have been a sip from the husband's boba drink turned into me downing most of it. Kudos to them for getting me to drink boba! It was delightfully refreshing on a hot summer day. The ramen was just okay for me. I thought it was a little too salty. Husband reported similarly but he was a big fan of their pork and the overall flavor of the ramen. We also ended up getting a chamango which visually is a thing of beauty. It was great to look at and also taste but we were full and I was boba-d out so this was a tad much. Still, I'm glad we came here and tried it out! Am I a lifelong boba lover after this? No. But if I'm ever here again, I'll be sure to try one of their drinks, it's worth it! read more

#1 - the artwork is awesome! If you like anime or Hello Kitty; you will love the murals in this place. #2 - the Ramen was great and fast service. It's affordable and least expensive ramen in Albuquerque outside your own kitchen. I was impressed and will return. The Gyudon bowl was also very good and the rice was delicious. The only downside or upside to this place is the lack of soft drinks. They do offer water, but otherwise, they only serve milk teas, flavored teas or smoothies. Don't be deceived by the 3/5 rating, the food is wonderful. The Tonkotsu ramen is amazing and flavorful, spam musubi is so filling and simply delicious, as well as the bbq baos. I will always come back and get the vanilla chai with classic boba, as that is a 10/10 (for Thai drinkers this will be the best drink you've ever tasted.) The only problem I have here is the service/ staff, there is one young woman here (edit: her name is Asantana!! So great) who goes above and beyond. Not only was she taking orders, handing them out, and making the boba drinks, but she was very friendly, And attentive. Making sure waters are filled, if the meal is okay, and if I needed anything else. She should be the face of this amazing hole in the wall. On the other hand there is the manager, another young woman who honestly should be fired, from what I can tell she has horrible customer service skills, as when I asked her a question about using the washroom she ignored me, did not speak one word to me but walked over to the bathroom door after I had sat down and basically pushed the door open, indicating that all I had to do was push it open harder than I was before. Not only that but she walks around with AirPods in both ears, and when the amazing counter woman is doing all the work I could see the manager sitting on her phone in a chair. She just seems very lazy and inconsiderate. Over all this place food, and atmosphere wise is a 10/10, just beware of the monster manager. read more

I haven't had a greeting like the one I received when I walked into Kawaii Boba Cafe since I can't remember when! The young man behind the counter nearly KILLED me with his enthusiasm and friendliness. I'm sad that other reviewers say they received "okay" service, because mine was off-the-charts fantastic. To them I say: give it another try! I was offered the option of going through the menu, but I a quick learn and I knew what I wanted: large, iced Thai tea with regular boba. Made in about 3 minutes and I was out the door! It was delicious and the boba was fresh and squishy in the best way possible. I'm looking forward to frequenting this local gem before the movies. Cute place! Such good food! And the bobas are delicious. We have come a few times now and have only had good things to say. My husband got his ramen spicy and he wasn't a fan because it was too spicy (his bad). So if you don't like spice don't get it spicy. The first time he got it without the spice was delicious.
